Novus Universale, The Second Union of Atlantic Nations, Nordic Model, and Avadam Inn only!

The year is 1960, wars have been fought in history and many nations have been founded. This is a time of change, innovation, and even warfare. Inventions once thought impossible are being created by geniuses in labs, new methods of engineering, trade, politics, and above all else warfare are being introduced to the public every year. As the sun rises once again on planet Earth a new age dawns. It is up to the nations of Earth to write this new age for themselves and for the history books. History is book that is only half complete, the pen is yours.

Please note that nations have the option of being a continuation of your nation in previous Roleplays, or you can start completely fresh.

Nations with under 50 scientific advancement must make techs 15 years before the roleplay date. Nations with under 100 but over 50 SA must use techs from five years before roleplay date. Nations with over 100 scientific advancement may use tech up to the roleplay date, and nations with over 200 scientific advancement may use techs a year after the roleplay date.
Although you have 1 free tech to be used once throughout the Roleplay, you can invent TWO techs per year. The 1 free tech is to be added to this at any point in the roleplay.
Rules (three strike policy, will be punished for not following them):

I. As mentioned above, Novus Universale, The Second Union of Atlantic Nations, Nordic Model, and Avadam Inn nations only!
II. One nation per person in roleplay, no puppets.
III. Make land claims realistic for your population, no populations of 5 million inhabiting all of Brazil.
IV. All nations have a military maximum of 10 million soldiers when semi mobilized, provided you have the economy to maintain these soldiers.
V. All posts are expected to be IN CHARACTER and a MINIMUM of 5 lines with full grammar, there are no exceptions.
VI. No creating too many and UNREALISTIC technologies for the current year. You should know what we mean by unrealistic. No laser guns in 1960.
VII. No god modding. (Winning a war unrealistically, making unrealistic techs as mentioned above.)
VIII. Unless using a free tech, you can only create two techs per year.
VIX. Report all god modding to a moderator or Minister of Roleplay.

This is NOT just a war RP, this is an everyday general life RP too.

A New Beginning

Paris, France - Late Winter, 1960

Monsieur Olivier Constantine stands outside the Concert Hall of the Helenstedian legends before him in the capital of Paris, for he was yet another 'First Consul' in Helensted's history. In the slimmest election in Helenstedian history, the first Christian came into power. This man would be Olivier Constantine, and he would represent the final link in the Franco-Prussian union of the Frankish Empire. The Western Frankish (French) Sector of the Frankish Empire joined with the Eastern Frankish (German) sector of Prussia one hundred and five years ago, and now in the year 1960, the two nations now share a religious bond.

Olivier is one First Consul in a string of many, and as he opens the doors of the Concert Hall in Paris he couldn't help but ponder what this new age would bring.

How would he be remembered in the endless vast of history? Would be a tyrant like the early kings of Rosa? A liberator as Monsieur Edmond de Graye, who saved the French people from the Helenstedian monarchy? A successor to a national hero as Robert Bolinger, the hero of Marseilles was? Would be the destroyer of the fundamental ideals of Helensted as Fauvre Daniau when he overthrew the Fourth Republic? Or maybe he would represent Franco-Prussian unity and Helenstedian Reublicanism as Charles de Gaulle had when he destroyed the October Republic and united with the Prussians to form the Frankish Empire one hundred and five years ago?

Walking into the Concert Hall, his secretary by the name of Abel Voclain led him to his table that already occupied by the Emperor of the united Frankish Empire, Frèdèric de Graye. The Emperors of the Frankish Empire are the hereditary grandchildren of the founder of Helensted, and when the War of Franco Prussian Union (1920-1925) ravaged Helensted the Prussian soldiers and de Gaulle's legion found the child of Edmond de Graye and pronounced him 'Emperor of the United Franks,' and so the empire was formed. When Olivier Constantine took his seat he noticed a map of the Frankish Empire on the table, he studied the map he grew very familiar with in his years of life.

The Emperor of the Franks spoke up first. "So, you are the new elected First Consul of the French sector of the Frankish Empire?" without giving time for an answer he continued. "Good. You will be a good candidate for the next five years of your term."

And so they held conversation, and the Fourth French Republic (Western Frankish Sector) of Helensted continued it's routine Democratic process that it held dear. As the old nation ventured into another age, it's ideals are held close.

The United Frankish Empire will be one to stand the tests of time.

The ideal of Helensted was founded in the year 1880. As the Second French Empire was deposed by the Prussians in the Franco-Prussian Wars, the Third French Republic took the Second Empire's place. This Republic was weak and soon enough the idea of 'Helensted,' a new monarchy of France, shook the Republic to it's core. The monarchists called themselves 'Helens' because they believe the true beauty of France was comparable to that of Helen of Troy in the ancient Greek myths. Within a span of ten years the monarchy of Rosa was established, and Helensted was born.

Soon enough this monarchy proved itself to be incompetent, it's lack of care for the middle and lower classes spread resentment across the nation. Joffrey Rosa, the king of Helensted died of an unkown disease at this time in the year of 1900, spawning a succession crisis between his wife, Frances Rommely, and his son, Joffrey II Rosa. Joffrey II rose an army of volunteers and his trusted Royal guard and assaulted Paris. Hope seemed lost for Frances Rommely, and she gave power of the weak Parisian garrison to Edmond de Graye, who outnumbered three to one held Paris from Joffrey II and gained the title "Hero of Paris."

This succession crisis only angered the people of Helensted who already found the monarchy incompetent, and soon enough the largest city in France, Marseilles, rose in total rebellion against the monarchy. Under Robert Bolinger, Marseilles seceded from France and found the independent City-State Republic of Marseilles. Frances Rommely gave her now favorite general permission to quell this rebellion, and with an army of one hundred thousand he marched south from Paris with orders to raze Marseilles to the ground. Instead of fighting the Republican rebels, Edmond de Graye joined with them and soon marched toward Paris instead of the Republican rebellion.

On the way to Paris Edmond de Graye won another major victory against the Parisian garrison and Royal Guard, and soon enough Paris was under Republican control and the Fourth French Republic of Helensted was founded in 1905. The Fourth French Republic remained a militaristic state under the First Consul, Edmond de Graye, with the intents of spreading Republicanism and democracy far and wide until the year of 1915. In 1915 the hero of the French, Edmond de Graye, was found dead in his quarters after suspected suicide. Edmond de Graye was succeeded by Robert Bolinger who ruled an isolationist Helensted from 1915-1920.

In the year 1920 Robert Bolinger was assassinated by his proconsul, Fauvre Daniau, who assumed power as First Consul and formed the Fifth 'October' Republic of Helensted, a Bolshevik state bent on the destruction of capitalism. Immediately Helensted's "sister in the east," Prussia declared war on the Bolshevik government in attempt to liberate the people of France from Bolshevik rule. In the War of Franco-Prussian Unification (1920-1925) the Fifth Republic of Helensted and Prussia fought each other in Northern France. Taking advantage of the war, a supporter of the old Fourth French Republic and general of the Algerian Corp, Charles de Gaulle rose his banner in revolution against the Fifth Republic after he gained popular support by defeating Prussia's best general, Erwin Rommel, in North Africa. By 1925 the War of Franco-Prussian unification resulted in a Prussian victory and the Prussian occupation of Paris. The Fourth French Republic was refounded and Charles de Gaulle assumed leadership of the re-established republic.

A joint Prussian and Helenstedian effort to find the son of Edmond de Graye then ensued, and emerged victorious when Edmond II de Graye was found in the city of Lyon. Charles de Gaulle and Erwin Rommel pronounced Edmond II de Graye the 'Emperor of the Franks,' and the Frankish Empire was forged.

The people, numbering in the billions, easily retook control of their rightful home. The territories they control stretch from the pacific to the atlantic, they are the original 48 mainland states of what was once America. Today, a nation has been reborn, and from now on, it shall never fall. There will be no more collapse, there will be only victory, and it starts today.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland + Ireland had been under an oppressive regime for many years, a dictatorship if you may, and the leader had kept control by exerting extreme force over all his subjects. That was when the rebellion began. A man, Percy Jakes, promised a new society, one of freedom and peace and love, where everyone could have a say in who led their country. No one had heard anything as good as this before. They all marvelled at the word- 'democracy'- and they wanted more of it. They were led by Percy Jakes into a revolution of sorts, which the dictator could not control. The leaders of The UK+ Ireland were overwhelmed and then overthrown, and replaced by a civilian- led government run by Percy Jakes. Percy Jakes ordered an election, which would be held in 2 months. For the first election, because people didn't have time to settle in and learn about democracy, there were only 3 parties, The Percy Jakes National Party, The Social Class Party or The War Party. The Percy Jakes National Party won with a landslide victory of 99.7%, leaving The Social Class Party with 0.3% and The War Party without a single vote. Percy Jakes took control of government, and renamed the nation, beginning the long process of ridding this nation of its horrid past, and starting the journey of a great nation on a new adventure, a new journey into the unknown. Therefore, it is my delight, Percy Jakes, to declare that The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland + Ireland is now called Ethane, and that we, as a nation, will be going on this journey together. May peace and prosperity do us well.

Utachian Founding

The People's Republic of Utopia Beach has been founded on the regions of Spain (including the Canary Islands and the Balealic Islands), Portugal, Morocco, and Western Sahara. It was caused by a unification of Utachian refugees from its namesake country, Utopia Beach, which had fallen in 1922, due to the attack of a cruel and barbaric nation whose name had been erased from history, and Seventh Oblivion citizens, whose government fell for unknown reasons. Utopia Beach has citizens of many races, including Native Americans and Spaniards, for a total of 361 million citizens.

The government is democratic, and has very socialist beliefs, with much of the government's budget going into welfare, although the private sector is allowed on a small scale.

Utachian Government

After the first elections of the new Utopia Beach, the government is made up of a President, Lucas Marcelino, a Vice President, Rafael Phillips, and a Parliament and a Court of Justice. The Speaker of Parliament, or the member who has been in Parliament the longest, is Erasmo Marta, and the Chief Justice is Selena Toribio. Ironically, these government members were named after their parents and grandparents, the government members of the historic Utopia Beach, which were killed at the invasion of the old nation. Utopia Beach is divided into seventy-six provinces, and each province has ten members in Parliament.

There have also been elections for the capital city of Utopia Beach, where the government members will meet. Many citizens suggested Barcelona, but the majority decided on Valencia, a large and important city.

Utachian Information

The People's Republic of Utopia Beach is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its frequent executions, complete lack of prisons, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, democratic population of 361 million Utachians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Public Transport, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of León. The average income tax rate is 77.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Utachian economy, worth 14.3 trillion Pesos a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Trout Farming, Woodchip Exports, and Furniture Restoration. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 39,680 Pesos, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Copyright laws have been abolished, Pinkerton agents are called in to forcibly break up white collar strikes, graffiti graces every city's streets, and towns that stop turning a profit are turned into animal sanctuaries. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare.

Utachian Military

Utopia Beach is a pacifist nation, and has a virtually nonexistent military, with less than 1% of the population a part of the military. The Utachian government, however, will accept any and all trade agreements and alliances, although it hopes not to get into any wars.

Utachian Foreign Affairs

The Utachian government would like to form an alliance with the Western Frankish Sector of Helensted, and, by extension, the Eastern Frankish Secotr of The Duchy of Prussia. It would also like to form alliances with the nearby nation of Ethane, since the historic Utopia Beach had a great friendship with the historic Ethane.

Under a Unified Scandinavia, the Fellsskogan banners raise again to celebrate their long History dating back to the 1300s. Under these historical borders of Scandinavia including Norway, Sweden, Copenhagen, Northern Finland, and Murmansk along with the Colonies of Botswana and Namibia. The Monarchy living on put the government is led by the Prime Minister. Krister Viken.

The Borders of Fellsskogar have been secured tight against the rising threats of Communism, Socialism, and Islam. The Armies new defenses will show to be a match of the century with new tech and jet propulsion technology. Glory to Fellsskogar.

Throughout time the Empire of Nova Auraluxia lost and gained severals lands. By 1960, it had lost the Caribbean, Florida and it's South American colonies but had gained all of Canada, and all of Iceland. The Nova Auraluxian Empire which is a constitutional republic contains a large oil and plutonium supply, and thus has built up a stockpile of nuclear weapons. The Nova Auraluxian Empire is intent on getting new lands to settle, but unfortunately for a short time Nova Auraluxia became isolationists and discarded it's military in favor of milita. The new government of Nova Auraluxia has agreed to build a world class military which it can use to protect it's interest.

Asleau is born, taking all of the lands following; Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, and Israel. Asleau will have its capital in Athens, Greece. It will also be host to the United Nations. These lands all hold different resources, and values, making Asleau a extremely culture rich nation. Asleau is a democratic republic, and may elect any leader it would like. Although, the most likely vote will go to the Democrat, or Republican Parties. Asleau's military is moderately trained, and able to afford reliable supplies to all of its soldiers. Asleau is a peaceful nation, but will take military action against those in wrongdoing. Asleau plans to make many trade alliances and military alliances.

Summary of The United Nations

The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization to promote international co-operation. Its main purpose it to keep peace, provide humanitarian aid, and enforce it's policies against war crimes, and atrocities.

Grandes Terres returns!

Since the 1920's Grandes Terres has dramatically changed and is no longer an empire and after wars and independence campaigns Grandes Terres is now left with the lands of Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Grandes Terres is now a much more compassionate nation although we still hold our capitalist views. Grandes Terres is now making more money than ever due to the large amount of ore and minerals in the Grandes Terresian outback and is increasing in its military strength. Grandes Terres wishes to have ties with Europe and is a catholic country.

Through the ages Slavic people were diversed. They rose and they falled. But now, on August 12, 1960. Slavs finally became united. Now, they can stand on international ring as united and perspective country. Quadami is a confederacy with 7 lands and 3 special territories. Each land has got 50 representatives in National Assembly and Congress, each special territory has got 25 representatives in National Assembly and Congress. Quadami already formed alliance with Frankish Empire and created official map and claims. This month will be held Presidential (every 7 years),National Assembly(every 4 years) and Congress(every 5 years) elections. We are also proposing alliance with Asleau. Next month population of Quadami will also choose it's capital, main pretendents are: Bratislava, Budapest and Ljubljana. However Sarajevo is the largest city, their mayor said that Sarajevo wont be capital.

An anti catholic extremist group has taken control of Nigeria calling itself mukafahat alkathulikia or MA for short, the group has declared that any catholic nations are infidels and will be destroyed by the might of allah. Grandes Terres is currently the largest catholic country on earth and is one of the main targets of the MA extremists. Any other catholic nations are also under threat from this terrorist group of muslims. A warning has been issued towards this group by the Grandes Terresian government and is worried of a possible attack on Grandes Terres by this group.

Prussia announces return to global stage!

Following roughly thirty years of internal consolidation, reform, and reflection, the Eastern half of the Frankish Empire has announced that it will return to the global stage as a main player in the game, being coupled with Helensted to form the Frankish Empire, the most powerful nation in the world, with a combined military of 20 million, and industry capable of economic dominance.

A Brief history of the UCPP:

1096: The Teutonic League announces union with Brandenburg, the two becoming a nation known as the Brandenburg-Teutonia in response to the First Crusade, the nation's armies marched on the Holy Lands, and while they failed initially they had proven their tenacity.
1262: The first monarch of the two, Frederick I of the Holhozzern is declared, and the nation of Brandenburg-Teutonia becomes a nation known as Prūsa.
1422: Prūsa conquers Pomerania and Saxony in a joint war to bridge the land gap between the two, this leads to the formation of a nation known as the ''Kingdom of Prūsia''
1455: Silesia is conquered, and Prūsia dominates all of Eastern Germany.
1644: Prūsia joins with the Valdostans to form a Greater German Kingdom, with the East of Germany controlled by a joint monarchy, with Prūsia now calling itself Prussia.
1834: The Valdostan king declares the Prussian monarchy illegitimate and begins to kill the Prussians, and while the Valdostans outnumber the Prussians, the Prussians have greater support from the military and populace, keeping most of their lands and taking much of Valdosta's.
1902: Prussia declares war on the revolutionary Valdosta, retaking lost lands.
1915: Erwin Rommel defeats the monarchy, creating a Republic.
1924: Prussia invades Greater Valdosta, driving the Valdostans out of Germany.
1925: Prussia forms the Frankish Empire with Helensted.
1934: Hungary, for loyal service to the crown, is released from the Empire.
1939: Romania is released from the crown for loyal service.
1942: Galicia and Ukraine gain independence from Prussian-Frankish hegemony and maintain friendly relations.

There has been much change in Grandes Terres since the 1920's, central america was invaded, the countries in the northern half of south america all became independent, Spain and Portugal collapsed for economic reasons and due to our Spanish and Portuguese heritage were given the lands of Spain including Morocco and Portugal and we have claimed parts of Africa as our own just south of Morocco however they are not officially part of Grandes Terres and our situation there is looking bleak. But apart from these major changes, our culture, capitalistic views, strong economy and high standard of living have stayed like the old Grandes Terres only we are more friendly now. Grandes Terres has returned!!!

The light Wiesel, while not a tank, is a mobile, fast, armoured vehicle with a wheeled four drive system. It is able to reach an astounding 100km/h and can mount several weapons like the standard 90mm cannon or a 60mm mortar, making it a very versatile weapons platform.

The French-Helenstedian engineers in the Banker state of Louisiana, the center of military technological creation, has created a revolutionary new tank called the Ramure I. This revolutionary new tank will dominate the battlefields worldwide, and is the best armoured vehicle ever to be fielded by the armies of mankind. The Ramure I is a very reliable tank that has forged an new class of tank design that will be edited and upgraded in the future. The B-52 Voler Château! is a continuation of the Flying Fortress series, and is a long range, subsonic jet tactical bomber. The B-52 Voler Château! is capable of carrying a bomb load of 70,000 pounds while maintaining it's remarkable speed. The B-52 Voler Château! is being shared with Prussia, GreatestBanks, and Utopia Beach, the same allies we shared the Ramure I with. (This bomber is based off the B-52 Stratofortress.)

In what some people might call a risk, The Frialenian parliament passed the "Peace Act", in which Frialenia completely disbanded its military. After Kaiser Mark I affirmed that the country will stay (mostly) neutral in war, 89% of the population favoured neutrality. Here's what some officials had to say about this:
"This might sound weird, but I actually favoured this decision. The tech was woefully behind, and in case of war, we would be immediately be destroyed and humiliated. The government has been nice in giving us jobs at police station across Frialenia and raising salaries for us. I hope the money that was spent on the army can be now be spent on more important things, such as welfare, education, public structures, etc."

The nation's largest export is oil. Which the South American provinces have an abundance of. The nation's people are either Caucasian(40%), Mestizo(29%), Indo American(30%). Only 1% of citizens are not of these three ethnicities. The people of Eristia, also known as Erists, are very open to changes in society and enjoy many political freedoms. The countries civil rights are some of the best in the world. Elections in Eristia are held every six years. Politcians can only have a maximum of 3 terms.
Tourism also takes up a large portion of the economy with that industy earning 500 billion Erist Dollars every year. The people are generally atheist(55%), agnostic(30%), Christianity(5%), Islam(3%) or practice religions native to South America(6%). The people and the government respect all religions. The military takes up 3 million citizens.
