Aboard the fleet flagship, the MNS Gwaihir an officer was gesturing to the tactical map while he spoke to the fleet commander, Admiral Daeron. "According to a recent message from the Western Pacific navy, the main strength of the Banbardian fleet is concentrated here. Our scout planes have just confirmed this."
"Very well," said Admiral Daeron. "We'll begin our attack with a wave of dive bombers to soften them up, then follow up with torpedo bombers. Signal the fleet to move into combat formation and have the carriers start launching their aircraft. We'll coordinate it so that all the aircraft are hitting at once."
The orders were issued, and the fleet began moving into position. The battleship group maneuvered to position itself between the fleet carriers and the enemy warships. The light carriers began moving inward towards the core group, opening the distance between themselves and the fringes of the fleet, where any surface action was most likely to occur. Meanwhile, squadron after squadron of aircraft lifted off the flight decks of the Third Fleet's sixteen aircraft carriers. 120 fighters took to the sky, providing top cover for the 240 dive bombers being sent to attack the enemy fleet. In reality, the fighters and dive bombers were the same model of aircraft; the only difference was that the "bombers" were currently loaded with a pair of 1000 pound bombs and one 500 pound bomb each, while the fighters each carried a pair of drop tanks full of fuel. This meant that once their bombs were away, the dive bombers would be able to join the air-to-air combat over the enemy fleet.
The ominous drone of hundreds of piston engines filled the air as the massive formation of aircraft soared over the fleet on their way to meet the enemy.
HA theyve flown right into the trap FIRE THE FLAK AND AA
Me-262s scream down on the bombers from the clouds and wuickly out manever their propeller counterparts because of jet engines. The sky turns black once more with flak, The ships ram into the sea mines scattered around the channel. A full scale air and sea battle erupts. The last of the V-1 explosive missiles have been fired at the 16 Carriers. Hoping for a large munitions explosion.
