The Delton shrieks as the fragmentation of the missiles penetrates the thick hide. It quickly dives underground trying to flee danger and sink the ara of the city where the missile came from but the shrapnel inside hurts it further. The Delton re-emerged from the ground flailing around before tumbling over a few buildings, dead. A second wave of SEDPs are sent down from the remaining fleet in space.

On the outskirts of the city, warships land in the dunes. Their massive loading bay doors extend down and a blinding light masks the interior, from which thousands of Marines (keep in mind this is happening on each ship that is landing) begin marching out. Their march is in perfect synchronization. Hundreds of Ground Shakers follow and march out the loading bay. As these large armies begin to deploy their ranks and formation never brake. From orbit Locust begin to fly down and deploy the bases. Leviathan Assemblies begin to drop down from space and automatically building itself with nanites and androids. The Emp blasts over the city have not disrupted the warships but have destroyed the nanites in the gas and prevented entire armies being teleported in via SETDP. Meanwhile reports of similar coco ranches of warships deploying armies around yolkia's many urban centers.

"Tiger 23, this is Tiger 24, begining strafing run."
"Copy that Tiger 24. Returning to the Goliath to refuel and re-arm."
The chatter amongst Gunship pilots is brief. Tiger 24's pilot looks back at his co-pilot,"Mack. Mack! Wake up."
The co-pilot stirs,"Huh? Are we over Yolkia yet?"
"Yeah. Tell Colvin to get on the 300mm, Federation Marines are pinned down as their support Groundshaker suddenly broke down. Engineers are currently trying to fix it, so we are hear to give them air support." Tiger 24 begins to head into Overwatch flight pattern. The interior was spacious enough to allow for some turbulence, but Colvin fell down anyways. He slowly stands up and mans the gun looking through the optical feed linking to his HUD. Colvin begins holding down a button on the side of the chamber,"Aquiring targets... Targets marked."

"Tiger 24, this is Pharrow Squad, we see the targets. Continue to mark the targets- oh shit!" An explosion can be heard through the transmission,"Enemy Armor, light it up!" The soldier yells into his comms device. Colvin remains calm and eyes down his target before firing the devastating 300mm cannon

"OSS Imperator to OSS Danger, do you read me?" The message from the command vessel repeated. "OSS Imperator to OSS Danger, do you read me?"

The OSS Imperator was an impressive aircraft carrier and the lead vessel in the Imperial Garrison, the largest of the four Oceani fleets sent to aid Yolkia in it's struggle against assimilation into the Federation of Aligned Species. Along with the four fleets, Oceanion had also sent a considerable portion of it's ground and air forces to the war zone.

Currently, the large Imperial Garrison waited in the waters just north of the channel leading to Tigrillo. In the city, raged one of the most intensive battles of all time so one small battleship had been sent ahead to make contact with the Yolkians and find a strategy before the rest of the fleet was engaged. This ship was the OSS Danger, captained by the young and daring Captain Anastasya Revere. She, at this moment, was standing on top of the radio cabin on the top deck, staring at the impossible spectacle before her.

"Captain," Charles, the radio operator called out to her, "the Imperator is asking what we see. What do I say?" It was a good question. What lay before them was undescribable. The city of Tigrillo, the beautiful Yolkia capital, did not stand where it usually did, on the shores of this channel. Instead, large amounts of the city had fallen deep into the ground: sunk by the Federation. Water from the channel poured down into the hole it had made, and was slowly sucking the OSS Danger over the edge.

"Tell them what's going on," Anastasya commanded Charles, "and tell them they'd better believe it". She jumped down onto the deck and fired a couple of rounds from the machine gun she was holding into the air.

"Alright crew, listen up!" She shouted, and captured everyone's attention. "I know this is hard to believe, but it's what's happening. So keep your wits, and your guns, about you." She paused to make sure everyone was listening. They were. "Now, some serious ship is about to go down. This ship. The current is pulling us over the edge and there's absolutely no way we can stop that." The crew were visibly worried by this. "But hot dammit," shouted Anastasya suddenly, "if we've gotta ride a battleship down a two mile waterfall into a battle-torn city then we'll do it with guns blazing and take a load of them aliens with us!"

The crew cheered, despite the danger ahead of them. "Some of us are gonna bite the bullet down there," she continued, "but we're gonna do so for a reason. Because we've got something to protect! Not just Yolkia! Not just Archon! These dicks want the whole of the planet and we aren't gonna let them take it!" Again, a cheer rose from the crew and they, given heart by her speech, hurried to their battle stations. It was going to be a bumpy ride.

"Charles," Anastasya addressed the radio operator, "get a message to the Admiral on the Imperator to advance the ships towards the city. When it's range of their AA guns tell them to maintain a constant distance, so as to avoid getting pulled down into the city like us." He nodded and Anastasya cocked her gun as she looked upon the alien-infested city. "Nobody names my planet Juniper," she hissed to herself.

For her, the motive was not just the defence of the planet. Her father, Anthony, was currently somewhere in war-ravaged Tigrillo. He had been acting as the Oceani delegation at a royal wedding in Nouvel Acadie. After the occasion's tragic conclusion he had flown back to Tigrillo with Ramon Penultimo, who had been the representative for Yolkia, to start talks about a possible alliance between the two nations. Now he was somewhere in the living hell that she and her comrades were rapidly approaching and she had her heart set on rescuing him.

"Grab a hold of something!" The shout came from one of the crew as the ship tipped over the edge of the hole created by the Delton and began plunging into the alien-infested city. They didn't know how many of them would survive, but they knew for sure, as they opened fire, that they'd be taking a few aliens with them if they bit the dust.

Roll for what percentage of the Danger's crew survive the fall + fight at the bottom, please Yolkia (or are we doing our own rolls?). Tbh, I like the name Juniper but hey, I needed a cool line.

Eastern trenches

Postby Yolkia » Fri Jul 03, 2015 8:44 am

The day-light was coming over the trenches, the men were ready on the lines as beyond them was a giant plain terrain, the trees had been taken out and the ground had been leveled long before the war. The motorized cavalry were ready and eager. "Well men, it's morning and as you can see, the brain-twats back at base have launched the EMP's over us", the major still had an imposing voice that everyone in the near trenches could hear. "It must be for a dam good reason. Listen up, this battle wont be easy, but Lamm-dammit, it's gonna be fun. I want you all to give all you got and then maintain that energy. Our ancestors are watching us and the gods are waiting to see a spectacle!" the men raised their weapons as they cheered in unison. "They have already targeted us with artillery but that's not gonna stop us from defending the fatherland! You are not mere militia, we are soldiers made for war, we have fought together in the civil war. We know how to fight, You've saved my life and we were helped by the gods against all odds for one reason. That reason is to die!" the men cheer "to Fight!" the men cheer again "to kill!" the artillery begin firing as the enemy starts marching on the fields, once the sound of the artillery dissipates it is replaced by the cheer from the men. He turns around and sees the enemy on mass numbers really far away. The air-force sweeps above the trenches, they will try to intercept their air-power, the general turns. "To battle!", his voice rumbles like a drum. The men's cheer is overthrown by the sound of the motorcycles engines riving up as they charge over the trenches and at exceeding velocities to the marching marines. "Now men, ready yourselves, man your guns and stations, continue firing the artillery, snipers commence fire!" Montero's men had been with him since the war, he refused a new battalion of a new force. the connection was deep with his men.

Sara Trufa was leading the motorized cavalry as they grew near the marines begun noticing the couple shots from the bikes and looked for cover but there was nothing around, not even a stump to dick under. "Alright, fire!" the rounds from the three barrel mini-guns besides the armored bikes are going faster that from a stationary vehicle. the bikes are made to smash through the front lines and keep going as if nothing happened. The artillery land near the enemy, little of them are actually getting hit by them. They manage to hold their ground yet the Mot. Cav. is now at almost full speed as it clashes through the lines. Sara leads the men to keep going for a mile after the waves are over and now begin isolating groups and weaving through the lines smashing men open with every pass.
here is how the rolls are going to be from now on, you have the generals speech, witch you send to someone (preferably nouvel Acadie) and they'll give you a modifier for that battle from a -3 to a 5, that's gonna affect all of that unit's rolls (he might be asked by anyone if this number is real and please, no puppet score). A -3 is a "OK guys, good bye. im leaving cuz i don't wanna die, peace. *runs away"
Then for all the dice rolls ask The Royaume of Nouvel Acadie. now here are the rules set up by him
1) Telegrams are clearly marked Country A launches ground incursion into Country B"
and
2) I only report the results of the roll and leave the interpretation to the RP members.
telegram him any rolls he will tell you the results you should base upon his answer
(-3 is a "ok guys, good bye. im leaving cuz i don't wanna die, peace. *runs away")

Iryllia gave me the score for the general speech, a 5
This rolls aren't from No. Aca. but all the ones from here on must be from him. (or anyone else if he is unavailable)
1d20 = 19
That's the Motorized cavalry's charge (another general unit)
1d20 = 17 +5
Defensive preparation
1d20 = 8
Artillery fire, before general's speech is over.

Postby New Aersquire » Fri Jul 03, 2015 10:22 am

In the dunes, a second wave of large drop ships land on the eastern border, pouring thousands of soldiers, bearing the uniforms Kudalia and Aersquire. They march through Aersquiran war camps, then slowly forward toward the FaS dropships. The soldiers navigate the sand flawlessly, they were trained to fight in it, to recognize the quickest ways to climb through the dunes. Sand-buggies scouted forward, while tanks brought up the rear.

"Kheeehp youreh headsh dowhn, ahn guhns hhigh." A slurring voice broadcast down from the clouds to the soldiers.

Above, the clouds parted like a knife cutting through cream. Planes flew through the clouds, but they were not the ones causing this big of a disturbance. Aersquire's arsenal was large and strange, with horrors lurking, could this be one?

In the trenches, the spies shifted like spirits. A whisper in the ear here, planted information there, left the Yolkian officers in the hands of the Inquisitors.

"The eastern boarder..." An Inquisitor whispered to an officer, unseen. Another planted pictures of the blurs of the enemies on the eastern boarders in another's pocket. The campaign of whispers went on, until every Yolkian soldier had "the eastern boarder" on their minds.

I'm going to need more of an explanation of how the rolls are working. You've only explained the speeches.

surviving from a two mile drop, impressive. Roll was a 15 on a d20. 75% of your men live. I also rolled a d20 to see how many systems on your ship are still operational and it rolled a 9. 45% of your systems are operational. Your main cannons are not operational only anti personnel guns are. AA is also down but possibly repairable. The ship itself will never sail again

As the destroyer crashes into the sunken ward two Gunships are Sent to investigate. The trench is filled with dust and visibility is very low. Any survivors stumbling out of the wreckage see shadowy figures off in the distance, unable to distinguish who they are. Flashes of green and yellow light up the dust. 300 Marines and a GroundShaker have been deployed by the Gunships and are converging on the wreckage.

(Reply to how the roll works)

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Fri Jul 03, 2015 11:29 am

Rolls may be used whenever you feel they are required by yourself, but the only actual rolls required are to determine the outcome major battles. Small battles are determined in RP, but a battle for say determining the fate of the Yolkia Resistance or if the Federation is on the offensive, basically anything that determines the course of the war. Battles like these are talked between the faction fight them in pm for clarification if it will be considered a key battle or not.

Eastern Trenches(Not to be confused with Eastern Border)

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Fri Jul 03, 2015 11:46 am

The Marines stay in formation as the Calvary runs through their ranks. Plasma Pikes extend from their backs and they detach into their hands. The Marines begin cutting the Bikes in half as the plasma slices the bike and drivers in half. Many bikes make it through the first column of Marines, but are met by GroundShakers, who step on a few bikes as they try to advert or go through. Others fire their cannon on their arm, sending a canister(shotgun like) round into the oncoming Bikes. Back rank GroundShakers plant themselves into the ground and their back artillery is posed at the enemy charging.

The Warships begin to lift off the ground as more come in to drop their troops off. Seeing enemy air force entering the airspace the warships taking to the sky begin engaging and deploying Fighters to intercept.

Fleet Master Farsight's Gunship lands as well in the center of the deployment zone as building fall from orbit and begin assembling themselves. Farsight steps out of his gunship with fellow diclonius and looks at the city that is crumbling and on fire,"Tell the 109th Fleet that we have reports of multiple faction intervening. I want them to hit a few of these countries while they are focused on Yolkia."
A marine bows and salutes,"Right away sir, also we have reports that the Union has been assimilated into the Federation. We can begin production of warships over there."

Eastern border

Postby Yolkia » Fri Jul 03, 2015 1:10 pm

The last groups of border guards have been easily killed by the Federation. The soldiers had began marching back towards the trenches lead by Fernando Ortiz. This force was getting progressively near to the trench battleground. The EMP blast had closed comunication with the trenches. Sara trufa and their men saw the men marching. They had pulled back to attempt another charge but the pike men had restricted their effect on the front lines. This 2000 men that had abandoned the border would come in handy.
After talking to Ortiz both the armies crept until within striking distance and then a barrage of bullets hit the pike men. The pike turned around as another charge by the bikes charged. Guns fully unloading at the men. The militia from the evacuated cities charged with their bayonets while the lines had gotten holes from the bikes path, the rifles had advanced and where at a near distance. The walkers had three to four bikes speeding next to it weaving between its legs and sticking sticky grenades to the legs. The militia pushed through the front lines, the bayonet with enough strength could peace the armor engaging the men in the back forcing them to stop the assault.
the rolls are in. And I hate to say this but I loose the external with a 5, medium victory yet less than half the offence force remains. With a 9. The trenches are still separate from this engagement

Penúltimo saw the monstrosity of a destroyer falling. He knew the crew could survive. The abundance forces that could possibly still hold there was a possibility that penúltimo could not pass for granted. "Tanks ready your engines! Motorized cavalry prepare behind me. We will open a pathway for those men trapped in that hole. now we have reason to be leave that the ship whom just fell to that hole was am oceaneon ship. Here we must help them so that they can aid our troubles. We will need more men to do so... how many men to we have?" The men whom weren't fighting formed up in regiments. About 6000 men thus far.
"Perhaps we could be of some asistance?" Shouted Cebrian from a far, some 12000 men had fled from the near cities and towns ready to fight for the capital. "The ship is oceaneon and there is a clear way from here, well I say clear it's peaty space with people. If we get that line and Mantain it we could manta in our suply lines. Men, women and all those who want to be either. With me, we will push through together!"

Jean-Pierre sat in his office sighing. The dust from the crashing destroyer was visible from his office. What a foolish thing he had agreed to... Being suckered into a Defensive Pact with their trigger happy neighbors, at least this way the guns weren't pointed at his people. A deal was a deal however and Jean-Pirere couldn't back out. He called in his newly appointed Minister of War Roland Paillard. A Western Covenetian Gypsy if you ever saw one. His skin had been tanned by years of hard work, and his hands calloused as further proof. He had trained in the Nouvel Acadie Army, and had a history of Joint Operations with North Covenant. He was on one of the transports on the failed Iryllian assault by North Covenant. He had survived along with 5 other soldiers on a life raft. He was relieved of Duty and headed to the Western Colony in Peruana. He was the top general for the rebellion however was taken out of action after a piece of Shrapnel severed his spinal column leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

"M. Paillard it seems we must act for the survival of our Alliance, and ourselves. Our main objective is to protect the Covenant. I would not be surprised to fine FoAS troops within our borders. I want the bulk of our Defense force on this mission I entrust Général d'Armée Azaïs for this task. DO not let your pride get above the mission, resort to hit and run, and gorilla warfare if need be."

"Of course sir."

As for our agreement with Yolkia we shall send them Général de corps d'armée Sra. Montero....

"I beg your pardon sir but Sra. Montero has been discharged, sir."

"Why was she discharged!"

"Drunkenness sir, I guess she couldn't stand the Peace. I believe last I heard she was in critical condition with extreme liver failure..."

"I see hmm who would you suggest then?

"I would go with Général de brigade Marc-Antoine Grosvenor, Sir he is capable and fought with me during my days in the NCDF, He hasn't been ranked up to Général de division, but is the front runner with Sra. Montero discharge."

"I trust your judgement, give him control of Reaper Division, and send them down to the Eastern Front the Yolkians have requested our assistance there."

"Yes sir"

M. Paillard rolled out of the room, and Jean-Pierre swiveled his chair around to see Terset. The fear was palpable from the city bellow as the fighting was heard across the bay, and the Dust Plum slowly dispersed over Yolkian air space.

"We may yet need our brothers gift after all." Jean-Pierre muttered.

M. Grosvenor pulled up to Reaper Division base camp, his new assignment. Reaper Division was created after the Defense Treaty with Yolkia had been established. Although it was expected to be a mostly Peruanan Force around 35% of the Troops were Covenetian. Mostly equipped with North Covenant arms and armors the division was one of the most well equipped in the whole Defense Force, and one of the most well trained with over 70% of the troops veterans of at least one battle. M. Grosvenor walked into his new command center greeted by his 2nd, Colonel Pereira.

"Welcome to the Reaper Division, sir. We are at full capacity, and strength. Three infantry regiments, one artillery regiment, a tank battalion, an aviation brigade, a Light Armored Reconnaissance battalion, an Amphibious Assault Vehicle battalion, a reconnaissance battalion, a combat engineer battalion, and a headquarters battalion all prepped and ready sir."

"Well I guess we are moving out next week, I'll want a meeting with the Commanding Officers tonight, now get me acquainted with my new division."

Eastern Border

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Fri Jul 03, 2015 11:52 pm

Commander Farsight has moved away from the frontlines. He wishes to command this invasion from a secured position.
"Sir, attack bikes continue to charge into our ranks. We expect losses but we can spare a few hundred men." A group of marines surround the war table. Others begin to give their reports,"Sir I also have reports from the 109th. They are will not push forward till they feel the time is right. They said the 150th is in over our heads and are attracting to many enemies at once. Fleet Master Sable wishes to remind you we are cut off from reinforcements from the rest of the federation."
Farsight laughs,"Sable is a coward. The 109th's reputation is at stake here. He won't be a reliable ally. I want those riders on the bike captured not killed. I have something in mind for them."

The regiments of marines combating the attack bikes begin to form walls off pikes to throw the rider off the bike. Marines in the back ranks provide suppressive fire.

The ship, utterly wrecked, had skidded to a halt in the rubble some way after the water that had made up the cascade had petered out. The starboard side of the vessel had been utterly ripped to pieces, costing the ship it's AA guns and claiming the lives of the crew members that had been on that side of the vessel. Luckily, however, most of the crew were fine.

Captain Anastasya led her crew as they stumbled out of the battered destroyer. A few flashes of green and yellow light broke through the swirling dust that was clouding their vision.

"What is that?" called out someone. Anastasya stepped forward, raising her machine gun just as the dust cleared. A small army of marines greeted her eyes. She couldn't tell how many there were but they certainly outnumbered the OSS Danger's crew of 225. Worse, behind them stood something totally otherworldly. A two-legged machine towered over the marines, bristling with weaponry .

"A reason to get the hell out if here, that's what" Anastasya replied, "let's go go go!" The crew began hurrying in the direction away from the Aliens, along the trench and into Tigrillo.

Anastasya began to run, then paused. "Gretchen" she called to one of her comrades and then beckoned her back into the hull of the ship. "We should have a minute before they get here to- aha!" She came across what she was looking for. "Give me a hand with this" she commanded Gretchen as she passed her a handful of cables. Together they began laying some wires around the ships ammunition until the whole ship was rigged to blow.

The two comrades rushed out of the ship, now a ticking time-bomb and rejoined the rest of the crew. They had taken up positions about 300 meters away and were returning fire against the invaders, who continued their advance. Many of the crew had been hit their enemy's firepower and just over a quarter of the crew in total had lost their lives. This was bad but, given the odds stacked against them, not as bad as what could've happened.

Just as the advancing aliens passed the shipwreck, the hull exploded. The iron of the ship was ripped apart in flames and the explosion almost reached the crew. Smoke from the detonation obscured the aliens from view and the Oceani troops took this as their chance to make their escape.

They hurried into Tigrillo and Alan, a gunner from the ship, pointed to something massive swarming westwards towards them from the far side of the city. "Here comes the cavalry!" he called out. What was happening was clear. The Yolkians were leading a push towards them.

This was both bad and good news for Anastasya. It suggested that the Yolkian forces were in need of more forces, which the crew of the Danger (now numbering just over 160) weren't going to solve. On the hand, it meant her crew would be able to fight alongside the legendary Yolkian motorised cavalry, and give her a chance to inform the Generals of where the Oceani support forces were coming from.

"Alright, comrades!" Anastasya shouted, "let's push forward and meet up with our allies." She reloaded her machine gun from her bandolier and led her crew through the city.

On the channel leading to Tigrillo, the ships of the Imperial Garrison stood in a line, their AA guns all focussed on the spaceships above the city. An address was broadcast from the lead ship of the fleet to all others.

"Ok, this is Admiral Reid of the OSS Imperator, all ships of the Imperial Garrison please listen. Focus fire on the warships over the city, don't be tempted to try and win glory by shooting at the command vessels unless I tell you to: they'll be too heavily armoured. And don't none of you go for an easy kill by shooting at those gunships, unless they come close to us. Intelligence reckons they're only crewed by 7 soldiers so they aren't worth it. I repeat, focus fire on the warships. Only shoot at anything else if it comes at us. Over."

As many ships' guns suddenly roared into action, the Admiral issued another broadcast. "OSS Imperator to OSS Defender, do you read me?" The OSS Defender was the lead vessel of the Hummerland Fleet, another of the four Oceani naval fleets that had been sent to Yolkia.

"This is Admiral Sachs of the OSS Defender to OSS Imperator, reading you loud and clear. What can I do for you, boss?" came the reply. As always, the admiral of the Imperial Garrison also had overall control over the whole naval force.

Admiral Reid smiled, "we're launching the assault on the ships above the city. Can you move your fleet into position just North of us and cover us in case we come under attack?" It was phrased as a question, but was ultimately an order, and Admiral Sachs was quick to oblige, ordering the smaller Hummerland fleet to follow where the Imperial Garrison had gone and protect them.

***

Meanwhile, in the arid deserts just south of Yolkia's borders, a large Oceani ground force was moving, in secret, slowly towards where the battle raged in Tigrillo.

Thanks for the roll, FAS. And yeah, I figured it wouldn't be a vertical drop but more of a steep slope, anyway I needed an entrance ;) Also, sorry for the length.

"hurry on men, prepare your engines we must push trough the unmanned land, lets hope there's no bad guys because I don't want to dirty this bike. Cebrian, push with your men after us!" Penultimo's bike skidded as the men followed him through the streets. soon enough the forces were moving behind them as they didn't know what to expect. Most buildings had been destroyed in the contested areas and neither army wanted to step into the land in between. some mini-gun shots were heard in the distance, without the radio it was impossible to tell weather or not the combat was big. The soldiers marching caught to a place were some half dozen marines were dead. Skid marks on the ground indicated that the marines probably lost one, although it wasn't seen. They continued to follow the road left by penultimo, along the way some men were left behind to hold that position. the sappers were busy opening up the concrete to try and make some trenches, after several minutes the two roads had a middle two lane trench and two external trenches that used the excess concrete as sand bags. The Yolkian flag was flown over the trench defiant to the surrounding area.

Penultimo had pushed through some little resistance, soon the craves was there and the oceani men were halfway there. The perusing marines saw the motorized cavalry lined up on the risk and stopped peruse, they weren't close enough to hit the bikers and they knew that they could trigger the motorized charge and that's something they didn't want to do, if the cavalry jumped down they would not be able to search the ship's debris. Penultimo saw as the few marines that had survived the blast and perused the oceani survivors return out of sight. As he looked around he saw the trail that the crew had used. "Loo-" A sharp whistle pierced his ear as he turned around he saw a young lady, a machine-gun over her shoulder and roughed up admiral suit. "Well, she found us, those are the guys we were looking for. the infantry, where are they?" a scout rider signaled him, the nearest militia were just half a block away. "well, introduce yourselves men, treat our friends to the war camp and push out towards the secured area." the lady was coming closer to the men as her followers followed. " Lead her men back to the secured area, ill chat with the l-" another whistle rang around, this time it was from his riders. "you know i'm compromised"
"That hasn't stopped y-" Penultimo interrupted him shutting his helmet on his mouth
"I'm much older now" he looked at the admiral. "Well there lady, that's some entrance you gave, it shook the town more than what made that hole" he was lying, of course. "Listen, we here are the Motorized cavalry. your men can follow them to our secured zone. There you can discuss what ever. it's a pleasure to see that oceanion has been engaged in this war, after all, i am the greatest speaker in this Juniper of ours" he looked for a reaction from the lady, "We must push back, i really don't want to alarm you but, this isn't really the safest neighborhood in Tigrillo.
They pushed away from the hole as the Oceani were lead through the newly dug trenches. The Yolkian flag flew high through the city as a smaller Oceani flag was flown beneath it.
Ok, here are today's rolls.
For the amount of resistance encountered along the way:
4, thus little resistance is encountered in the no-mans land
For the defensive preparations we have a:
13, thus the defenses are set, semi-decently, but it's not the toughest one. If leaven alone it can grow into a proper trench.

The Federation 109th Fleet has just finished off the Yolkia navy and the yolkia are in retreat. Unfortunately the fleet is to heavily damaged to fire its missile stikes. Instead thousands of marines are loaded onto hundreds of gunships and are sent inland to set up a colony along the shore lines. "Sir, reports indicate that Farsight will have the yolkia capital within the day. Two Delton have been ordered to the area-"
"Knowing Farsight, he will get cocky. Send word out to the Colony that Farsight and his 1.3 million marines are fighting to control the city. I pray the Marines are doing alright." The Fleet Master Beckons.

The Warships over the city begin firing SHPMACs at the enemy navy now coming to reinforce the yolkia. Gunships fly at high altitudes and target the leading ships to hopefully clog the straight making it impassible. Other Gunships fly over the city letting a new wave of gas fall down. This has sterilizes its victims and burns their eyes out if now properly protected. It also attracts Delton...

Meanwhile, Farsight has teleported to the sunken western ward. He stands at the destroyed destroyer,"How many did you say we lost?" He questions a surviving Marine.
The Marine lies on the ground holding an iron wedged inbetween a joint in the thick armor, blood everywhere," 256... Sir..." He coughs.
"Hmm, yes," Farsight raises his pistol and shoots the marine in the head,"You forgot one." He scoffs. Farsight turns to his left where his own Marine stands,"find the sergeant andhave him executed for failing me. I want these navy men captured for interrogation."
The marine salutes," right away sir."

Outer Trenches, Newly Secured Area, Tigrillo

"Thank you, sir," Anastasya said to the dynamic Yolkian General Penultimo, "but I'm afraid I'm just a Captain."

It had been a tough day to say the least, and she was glad the Yolkians had found them. Even though they were still far from safe, it felt good not to have to be in charge for a bit. "I know we're not the most impressive force there is," she began, "but more aid is on its way." She took from her pocket a crumpled piece of paper.

Image
The orange line shows the Yolkian border; crosses show cities; and yellow lines show railways.
The blue markings show the Oceani forces: an asterisk denotes a naval fleet; arrows show the movement of ground forces (army); and the dots show the location of temporary airfields set up by the air force.

"This is the most up-to-date information we have about the positioning of Oceani troops," she told Penultimo, and showed him the map of the Tigrillo area. "As you can see," she showed him, "there are two columns of ground forces on their way to Tigrillo. One column came from this airfield and crossed the border yesterday," she explained "it won't be long before they arrive in the south-west of the city. The force is made up of many battalions from divisions across Oceanion."

Now she moved onto the other column. "This column will take a bit longer to arrive but it’s more than twice the size. It's heading into Tigrillo from the east where it can give support to your soldiers in the trenches over there."

Above them, the skies erupted. The barrage from the naval forces had begun. Anastasya knew that they'd have to get under cover before long but, before doing so, quickly showed Penultimo the location of the two airfields that the air force had set up. In the desert just south of the border was Camp Creedo, named after the, now fallen, nation within whose old borders it stood. This was a desert large camp where many aircraft were stored and pilots housed. Much closer, a smaller airfield had been established just across the channel from Tigrillo. This was more of a refuelling point for short-range planes and was in a dangerous, yet useful, position.

***

Second Deck, OSS Labourer, Tigrillo Channel

The sound of klaxons and explosions filled the air on the OSS Labourer, a medium sized-battleship of the Imperial Garrison. Leaping over a few flames that had started to lick across the lower decks, two sailors rushed along the side of the second deck towards the stern. Reaching their destination they both grabbed the railing and looked over the side.

Unable to withstand the barrage of fire from the Federation of Aligned Species’ gunships, a massive hole had been ripped through the port side of the vessel, near the stern. “Crap.” This was mild language for the smutty-mouthed Oceani any day, but in this dire situation showed particular restraint. After what happened next, the sailor’s language was significantly less reserved. Another blast hit the ship, which had fared worse than most of the fleet, and that rocked the boat enough for the gaping hole in its side to dip beneath the waterline. Then it stayed beneath the waterline. Then the ship began to rotate, its starboard side rising, but its port side falling quickly into the water.

The sailors took off running. As another blast hit the ship the loudspeakers blared into action. “This ship is in critical condition. Abort repair attempts, abandon ship, and make for the OSS Liberator. I repeat: abandon ship and make for the OSS Liberator. Abandon ship!”

***

Bridge, OSS Imperator, Tigrillo Channel

“The Labourer’s hit bad,” the radio operator informed the bridge of the OSS Imperator. “They’ve given the order to abandon ship and have told the crew to make for the Liberator.” This was received in silence with just a nod from the Admiral, who wore a grave expression. The Liberator wasn’t far from the Labourer and oceani naval sailors swim like fish (it’s part of their training) so Admiral Reid was sure most of the crew would be able to make it to the Liberator. Still, the loss of the Labourer was not inconsiderable. They could hold out another day or so, but without help more ships would soon follow the Labourer down, and they’d fail to be much help to Yolkia.

“Yes!” the radio operator suddenly shouted aloud, drawing the intrigued eyes of the whole bridge.

“Lichi Bando just made contact,” he told them, “they’re going to engage the invaders in the skies.” A cheer went up around the bridge. This was just what the fleet, and the people of Tigrillo, needed right now. “They’ll also be sending ground forces into the city. Those’ll probably arrive around not too long before ours.”

The delighted Admiral stepped over towards the radio. “Tell them that the air force has established a small airfield just across the channel, that they can use if they need,” he commanded the radio operator. Then he personally made a radio address to the whole fleet. “OSS Imperator to all ships of the Imperial Garrison, this is Admiral Reid. The OSS Labourer has been sunk by the Federation; the crew is being taken aboard the OSS Liberator as I speak. But there is also good news, Lichi Bandoan fighters are going to begin engaging the Federation’s ships above the city. This should reduce the fire against us, but it means you’ll all have to take careful aim not to hit any of our allies up there. I repeat, aim carefully to avoid the Lichi Bandoan fighters. Over.”

“Comrades,” he said to the people on the bridge, “we’ve a chance yet.”

Meanwhile in Castilla...

Get those mortars mortars in position!

General Ziliyan, it's the Yolkians, their citizens, they are shooting at our soldiers. We haven't sustained any causalities yet but they have forced them to hunker down. What are your orders?

Kill them all! spare none of them! we are at war! if someone shoots at you, you kill them. Understand?

At once, General.

Open fire upon them! kill them all!

The soldiers opened fire from their sandbag cover. Their bullets hit the Yolkians with surgical precision. After all, these were professional soldiers in power armor shooting civilians from a fortified postion.

The wave has subsided? You, 50 soldiers, 5 "Interceptors" and 3 "Instigators" shall advance on the enemy's position. Kill any hostiles you see. Turn on the camera in your helmet, what you see, we see.

At once, General.

The soldiers advance up north of the village through the rubble and dead bodies

PIlot 465XSA to dispatch, There is a large interloper force at what seems to be a library. It is on a hill and seems to be heavily fortified.

Advance to the library and engaged the enemies.

10-4, advancing on their position now.
se
They advanced till they were a block away, opposite the library. They saw several machine-gun posts at the library so the set up they sandbags and a machine-gun of they own while the "Interceptors" got into position. All of sudden a missile shot down one of the "instigators" and several previously unseen enemy combatants started firing from their cover. The "interceptors and "instigator bombarded their position but was ultimately ineffective. There was no doubt about it, it was a stalemate. There were equal casualties on both sides.

Tigrillo

Postby Yolkia » Sun Jul 05, 2015 4:27 pm

The city had gone quiet, something was brewing and they didn't like what it was. "Hmm, this is very quiet... seems like a soccer championship." Penultimo looked at Cebrian whom had made an office on the trench. "do you really think that we can do this?" Cebrian looked up with a strange look in his face,
"We've done things bigger that this. You charged bigger forced than this in the jungle if-" he was interrupted by Penultimo's face, it was a 'i'm-not-talking-about-that' face that he knew to well.
"Listen, i'm talking about the diplomats, they must have made it to the western covenant by now, right?"
"All the civilians made it to the train?" Cebrian replied knowing the answer.
"well, there are some that didn't want to go so we did the thing that had to be done... we gave em guns!" Cebrian's face hit his hand.
"You do realize that few of them speak our language, right?" he looked up "These guys might not even know how to fire a gun!" the one line that had been fixed started to ring. "Hello, yes you're talking with Cebrian Riesser leading the defenses, how can i help you?" a small chatter in another language began to pop up "h-hello? we don't want your commercials here, please... what the hell are you calling me in middle of a war to sell your wares?!" the voice in the other side began talking in Yolki. -Yes we're looking for Penultimo, we want to know where to land our troops- Cebrian realized that the voices were from the lichi bando navy, he had confused them with the several messages that people got from the enterprises coming from said country. "Why do you want Penultimo", he pondered to himself whilst covering the phone-head. "Its for you".
"Hello, this is Pe-" -yes Penultimo, we want to know where we can land, we want to reinforce the city and help you with the invasion- "Oh, good then, let me pass you with the guy in charge of infantry and positioning"
"Hello" Cebrian said with a deeper tone, "Look, you can land in Castilla village and help our friend there, Castilla, take that position, from there and with those soldiers you can push south. Before they went dark we think that they were with nova fortuna, drop of there. The shore of Tigrillo, proper, is full with the Oceani ships that are already assisting us in combat. if you push south from Castilla we can pincer the forces here at Tigrillo and re capture the city in its entirety." the other side begin chattering in their language.
"Cebrian, friend. Penultimo had put his helmet on, "Scouts report an important figure leaving the ditch by their side. the cavalry will try to kill him, wish us fun" he extended his fist to Cebrian who proceeded to pump it and then wiggle their fingers, "swogiddy swogiddy" Leaving outside he noticed that the oceani admiral was doing nothing. "Hey, you can communicate with anyone using the messengers, they are good at finding people among the fighters, so you can ask them which positions have gotten slimmer numbers to redirect your troops." he walked over to his bike and along with his 500 men started speeding through the roads until they reached the giant hole. his men looked weary, worried for the fall and Penultimo noticed this. "Men, don't worry, we've all gone down wider holes" he paused, "and i'm not talking about geography" he rushed down the side that had been the least steep and began rushing, one by one his men followed down. They knew roughly where the target was and in expert movement they began shifting through stones and cracks down the steeps of the holes. "There men, our target!"
"how do you know?" one of the riders asked behind him, he pointed towards the cliff where hundreds of marines were rushing towards the man. half the force split towards the charge and the others followed deep straight to the commander. bullets started flying towards the objective yet he managed to avoid them. The cliff marines started shooting towards the chargers, bullets hitting around them some hitting their mark and the riders started to fall one by one. A pistol round hits Penultimo's helmet, he starts to move sideways as the hunter quickly became the lonely hunter. The half force finally hit the marines and stopped them from helping the chargers yet only thirty of the 250 chargers made it to the near vicinity of the commander who's forces spring from the ships carcass shooting the chargers. Penultimo's bike gets hit in the sweet-spot, the front wheel as he is launched flying. he lands some 20 feet over the bike's crash site. he struggles to get back up as a feet crushes his spine, pushing him towards the stones.
The sound of cracking beneath him pushed the wind from his lungs as he mumbles to his speaker. "I hope those are the rocks beneath me" another pistol shot rang through the reinforcements ears as they halted their advance. The force knew what to do, popular vote. they spoke into their speakers.
"what now?" one of the calmer said
"we do what he did..." the men quieted as he exhaled the stress from his body "For Penultimo and the Tigrillan cavalry!" the men charged towards the position but it was fruitless. the final rider with his bike over Penultimo's body, the fire consumed the body. at the end nor rider nor bike was alive or operational.
I will burn these dice
for my charge towards Farsight
18. (defensive near total victory)
and for the charge towards the reinforcing marines:

Western Ward

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Sun Jul 05, 2015 5:37 pm

Farsight walks on the bodies of dead marines and yolkia alike, looking at the dead,"Pitifull." He pauses then looks to his personal marine,"Tell the Delton to sink the rest of the city, have our forces in the east meet with ours in the north. Then tell them to converge on the south. Also alert the agents in The other countries, invasion begins in the morning." He begins to walk away
1st Delton 1d20 = 7 you destroy the Delton before it can even sink a ward
2nd Delton 1d20 = 14 another ward of the city(Northern) is sunk, but not the city

As the yolkia invasion presses on, agents within Lichi Bando have been activated. Warship in orbit send down waves of SEDPs all over the country's major population centers. All major cities are currently under invasion and have caught the enemy off gaurd. Gunships begin to fly towards the borders from the the north with the intention of deploying gas on the rural areas. SEDPs deploy entire squads of marines who imediately gun down civilians and police alike. Those that aren't shot are taken into large groups before being gassed and turned into thralls.

Outer Trenches, Secured Area, Tigrillo

"No!" Anastasya yelled as she saw Penultimo crushed to the ground. She took of running towards him, despite the attempts of others to stop her. She dashed up and out of the trenches, across the ground to where the motorised cavalry had led their advance. A shot almost hit her in the shoulder at this point. The alien technology would've been the end of her but she managed to drop to the ground. She saw through the dust that she lay only a few feet from Penultimo's body. She crawled the ground towards the general, keeping down to avoid gunfire like she'd done many times in training. Her bandolier snagged on something, a dropped rifle, but she tugged it free.

The captain looked in a sorry state. Her blonde hair escaping her sweatband was tangled full of dirt and mud; her standard-issue white T-shirt was half-caked in grime and half-soaked with blood (some of it hers); and her grey trousers were tattered and torn. The great man was dead when she reached his body. She felt no pulse under his already cold skin and knew it was pointless. The loss of Ramon Penultimo was terrible. Not only was he a skilled general and a good man, he had also known Anastasya's father and was her only key to finding him. But he would be no help now. Yolkia had lost a fine soldier, and she had lost her only hope of finding her father.

"Damn!" she shouted aloud "Dammit! Damn them!" Anger against the aliens consumed her. She didn't even think before turning and picking up the rifle she'd passed. It was a sniper, dropped by some unfortunate Yolkian. She ran, not thinking about the shots flying her way, towards where the front line had been. In her anger the only thing she could focus on was her desire to stop the Federation. She took up position and raised the weapon, putting the long scope to her eye.

As she aimed for a surviving marine she heard a voice in her head, not her father's but the voice of her mother, a captain in her own time who had taught Anastasya how to fire. "Not that one," she heard her say "you'll have just one shot before they notice you. Go for someone that matters." Anastasya's eye roved across the troops before her. Then she saw one. Even without his uniform, it would be impossible to think this man could be anything but a leader. The way he strode across the scattered bodies of the dead; the way he spoke to the other soldiers; and the way he casually began to walk away all made his authority unmistakeable.

As she took aim, all the anger that had been clouding her thoughts cleared and Anastasya was able to focus. "Where the neck meets the head, just below the skull" her mother's voice spoke to her again. Anastasya knew that she would have no time to admire her handiwork. The second the shot was fired, the marines would be alerted to her presence and she would have to roll out of sight.

Under her breath, she muttered "This is for my father, for General Penultimo, and for the whole damn planet". Then she paused for breath. She focussed. And she squeezed the trigger.

Roll for Anastasya's survival: 18. Phew.
It's a big thing for the shot to kill Farsight so if FAS gives the go-ahead, we'll have the independant moderator make the roll.

Inner Trenches, Secured Area, Tigrillo

Gretchen didn't know that her Captain had died. All she knew was that she wasn't where she was supposed to be. A lover of everything to be done by-the-book and in a organised way, Gretchen
found it hard to put up with the impulsive Anastasya sometimes but that was totally unacceptable: running off somewhere alone while her crew waited in trenches to be given orders. Though it wasn't quite protocol, Gretchen took matters into her own hands.

"Listen up, comrades" she called out "As First Mate, I'll be taking charge 'till we find out just where Anastasya is. I just spoke with the generals and the Federation's forces are converging on the south. And that means that's where we need to be! We've been lucky," she continued "but if we can hold out a while longer we won't need luck. Unbeknownst to the Federation, the south of Tigrillo is where our ground forces are headed right now. If we can hold out 'till they get there, this battle might just become a little more even." The crew cheered and began their journey southwards through the dangerous city.

Camp Sitting Duck, West Coast, Tigrillo Channel

"We seriously need to come up with a better name for this place," the one guard on the watchtower mused to the other who laughed.

"Well it was hardly the Air Force's idea," the other replied, "but if you set up an airfield in a perilous position like this you can expect the troops to give it a good nickname."

The airfield was small, consisting of about 30 tents, most of which housed planes. It stood upon a relatively uninhabited bit of coastline, across the channel from Tigrillo. The runway stretched all the way down to where the cliffs dropped away into the water. Despite only being separated from the battle in Tigrillo by a thin body of water, the camp could be eerily peaceful.

Is it ok to keep calling it the Tigrillo channel? I don't know what else to call it. I'm just referring to, well, the channel that connects Tigrillo to the bay.

***

A few Kilometers South of Tigrillo

The rhythmic sound of marching filled the air as this column of Oceani ground forces, some 5,000 strong approaches Tigrillo. It was made up of three brigades: the First Hostel Gunners under the command of Brigadier Kyr; the Küsteburg Ferocious (one of the longest-running regiments in the army); and the Port Oceania Armoured Brigade (a tank unit). This last brigade was about half the size of the other two, numbering only about 1,000 soldiers but making up for it in firepower.

Slowly, but surely, the force approached Tigrillo.

The Northern ward begins to sink as a Delton runs rampant underground. A second Delton emerges from the ground but is killed by enemy air forces. It's body tumbles back into the giant hole. The sinking of the northern ward is felt through out the city and sends some buildings that are badly damaged into the ground. The Federation's Marines through out the city begin to pull out little by little as the city is suppose to sink. Only with Farsight's death can the city truly be saved from the Delton. On the outskirts of the city the 150th isprotecting the bases that are being build. Large titanium structures, falling from orbit and being deployed.
someone make the roll to see if Farsight dies, if he does I'll make a post on his death
