Covering Story: AMNAT-ODECON Conference

Grestonian Federal Parliament in favour of AMNAT-ODECON conference.

Easen, Gr - Since earlier during the creation of the Alliance of Maritime Nations, relations with the Oceanic Defense Coalition have been strained. Due to the Imperial Republic's creation of AMNAT, the ejection was imminent and caused for much debacle with leading Coalition leaders. After two years of barely held in tact relations the Oceanic Defense Coalition proposed a conference between the two alliances, with delegations from major members of both alliances attending. Once proposed to the Alliance of Maritime Nations, current President Llywelyn Wilton Madoc took the issue into deep consideration, with both the Federal Parliament and Federal Congressional Parliament voting in favour of AMNAT pursueing the conference. The President took the offer and is planning on attending the conference with two of his Grestonian AMNAT Commitee Members, Dyson Rigby Idris and Taylor Maree Ghent. With the President of the Imperial Republic making a decision on the issue, the Parliamentary Assembly, legislative house in Easen for the Alliance of Maritime Nations, was swayed enough to make a decision and also suppourted the conference.

"Striker tried to reunite our once thriving bond with ODECON by enrolling AMNAT in the Siege of Magna Polis. I think this conference can be good for us, for our nation. Osterwieck here I come," President Madoc said with a smile to GNNN film crews atop the the steps of Capitol Hill. The conference is to be held in Osterwieck, Leistung, with delegations from the Imperial Republic, Sumguia, Leistung, Maldorians, Zoingo, Brittanican Adenia, Italia Orientale, Neo-Erusea, Greal, and Anagonia expected to be attending. The main topics of the meeting will, of course, be on rekindled AMNAT-ODECON relations, the Grand Alliance War or Mediterranican War, and the Liberation of Rajikistan.

No earlier than six months ago former president, Jerry Striker, wrote "On an Earth where two world power alliance blocs cannot come together to unite against a common enemy, chaos can only ensue," in a declaration of war against the Grand World Order. The phrase has commonly been used and adopted for advertisements and by politicians for a friendly AMNAT-ODECON relationship.

As Field Marshal Isaac Colmera II, leader of the forces sent to combat in Magna Polis commented, "I have fought along side many a Leistungi, Grealites, and Sumguaians, why should or past allied terms be thrown away because we have differing alliance memberships?" However, despite obvious, overwhelming suppourt for the conference, many infamous purist and racist political idealists, such as Thomas Clay and Richard C. Dawkins are against the movement and feel the Imperial Republic should not only abandon all ties to ODECON but declare war on the Coalition.

"So many god damned Hans and Bundaks flocking to our bloody nation! Greston was greater without it's glorious name being tarnished by foreigners who like to police this world of ours. This world's fate is of ours and other civil states to choose, not ODECON to want it one way and to police until it is met."

Feverent, how ever small, protests such as stated above by Richard C. Dawkins have broken out in Middleton, St. George, Partha, Westminister, Mont-du-Plame, Minerva, and Easen.

"Why create any more bonds with Sumguia," mentioned Thomas Clay during a political rally in Westminister, "those fanatical, secretive, untrustworthy backstabbers are the reason LION failed and we were capitulated into a horrible and bloody war with the Mediterranican Union!" However, despite fanatical protests against the conference, the conference is still planned to go on and brighten the Imperial Republic's future.

Covering Story: Grestonian Battlegroup Deployed From Langholme

Image
GMNS Arleigh and GMNS Tripoli head up naval deployment from Providence.

Grestonian Battlegroup, including marine division, departs from Providence, Langholme.

Providence, Langholme - Earlier this morning, a Naval Battlegroup, complete with a full Marine Infantry Division, launched off from the tip of Langholme, Providence. The Naval Battle Group was comprised of one CVN-1 Prudence-class Battlegroup Aircraft Carrier (GMNS Arleigh), three Tripoli-class Trimaran Guided Missile Destroyers (GMNS Tripoli, GMNS Kingfisher, GMNS Providence), two EM-220 Tigershark-class Diesel Electric Escort Submarines (GMNS Penn, GMNS Isaac Colmera), and one Cerberus-class Guided Missle Gunship (GMNS Cerberus); Commodore Thomas Phillip Parker, the Commodore who gained a massive Grestonian victory in the Isthmatia three years ago is leading the fleet. A limited amount of details have been released about the mission, all the Commodore mentioned to GNNN film crews was, "I feel it is time for me to win our Republic another victory. The Government promised me a manor and the rank of Rear Adrmiral if I complete my mission. I feel thats pay enough, so I took it."

The convoy of battle ships, as well as up to thirteen medical and supply boats, began loading yesterday and has only just started to deploy. The government officials in the area did not allow any civilians within forty yards of the convoy. However, GNNN film crews were able to capture footage of the naval crews loading crates of food and ammuntion, infastructure blue prints and materials, as well as Field Marshal John Batther boarding the boat. It has raised question as to what the fleet was conjured up for and why it was being deployed.

The last known, and released, location of the fleet and it coordinates was about 60 miles south of the Grand Chause, traveling north. Aschenhyrstian officials have gotten a bit fidgety about the deployment by President Llywelyn Wilton Madoc assured them that they were not deployed to engage in combat with Dominion forces in and around the Chausey Islands. The President's assurances, however, have been questioned as the only places north of Langholme, of interest, are the Chausey Islands, Telros, and The Northern Baltic. With both the Northern Baltic and Telros as allies of the Imperial Republic, questions have been raised. Still the government refuses to leak information about the project and the fleet continues to take its course.

Covering Story: Cessation of Territories

Image
President Llywelyn Wilton Madoc announces cessation, Grestonian Britain Flag behind him.

President Madoc cedes Grestonian Britain over to The National Monarchist Empire of Neo-Ixania

Easen, Gr. - Upwards to six years ago, former ally, The Maldorian Empire of Maldorians, aided Greston in annexing territory from Ixania. Colonel Nathan Cersiscal, who lead assualts on the colony and later Ixanian Russia was outraged when he was finally taken out of power from the colony. He was well known for inciting many enemies upon the Imperial Republic by starting the wars with Ixania. At the time his cause was widely suppourted, until he took the reigns and called the shots. For over a year and a half, whilst Batther was president, the loose cannon Colonel declared himself Director of the Dominion, and launched massive, large scale military assualts on neighbouring colonies.

"God damned Popular Party! First we let go of our over sea colonies, next we are scaling down our homeland. Can't this Llywelyn guy understand Greston is based upon it Imperialism!" Despite the Colonel's outrage, he is one of few that believes such a thing. The Popular Party's slogan during the elections, "To make the Imperial part of Imperial Republic only a word, not an idealology." landed deep in the populace and stayed there. The Federal Parliament and Federal Congressional Parliament were almost entirely for the cessation of the land holding back to Ixania.

"We stole it from them, plain and simple. Batther couldnot do it, Striker could not do it, Llywelyn can. He is the first President in this nation in a long while that is for alliances, for relationships. Not for war and empire." PM David Lonzletti of Alexandria commented to GNNN film crews as he entered the Chambers of Federal Congressional Parliament. PM's from Minerva, Lyreston, and Middleton that had over heard what he said nodded in acceptence to his small scale speech.

The Imperial Republic has began evacuation of the colony and Llywelyn has already signed the treaty that finalizes and approves the cessation of Grestonian Britain to Ixania. President Madoc talked to Empress Anatasia over the phone before hand, whom agreed that Grestonians would be given a two month grace period to evacuate the colony, with her assets and people. All past residents were welcomed to stay, despite the government change. A majority of the population came back to Greston, moving into prepaid homes, using funds from the former treasury of the colony.

Llywelyn gave a speech regarding the cessation of the territory to the Republic through GNNN, the news report also broadcasted to Ixania, "I wish to apologize to the Ixanian people, and Empress Anatasia herself, for six years without what was rightfully theirs. I can only idolize their government for their patience, as I know my former counterparts, Check, Batther, and Striker, would not have waited six years for a colony to be ceeded back. I once again apoligize, for my Government, my position, my nation, and my people. Perhaps this mix up can brighten our diplomatic future, and open up trade routes between our nations."

Covering Story: Grestonian Battlegroup Deployed From Langholme Continues

Image
Battlergoup pulls closer together as they exit the Thulian Bright and enter the Chausey Bretton Triangle.

Grestonian Battlegroup nears Aschenhyrstian Chausey Islands.

Providence, Langholme - The battlegroup has begun to take up a tighter formation as they near the territorial waters of Neo-Brettonia, Chausey Isle, and Argentaria. Despite the Government refusing to release the exact coordinates of the battle group, or where they are heading, exactly, they have been updating GNNN on the past locations of the fleet and the course they have taken so far. It is estimated that they entered the Thulian Bright, the expanse of water in between Waldenburg and Brittonia, two hours ago, only just leaving it half an hour ago. They are no somewhere in the Chausey Bretton Triangle nearing the Baltic Strait. The Chausey Bretton Triangle is a triangle of water, from the tip of Waldenburg, to Grand Chause, to the tip of Neo-Brettonia. It was given the name because it is a triangle of a water route that is not directly part of the Thulian Bright, Chausey Mordian Sea, Baltic Strait, or Argentarian Gulf.

The battlegroup has pulled just north of Waldenburg, counting the Most Divine Empire out of the list of possible targets. But it does raise some red flags, making the possibility of the neutrality with The The Sovereign Imperial Dominion of Aschenhyrst being broken, as a possible threat towards the Chausey Isles becomes more and more apparent. However, so far the fleet has stayed out of territorial waters and seems not to be heading towards the Chausey Isles whilst the GMNS Arleigh points towards the Baltic Strait.

Covering Story: Grestonian Battlegroup Deployed From Langholme Continues

Image
President Llywelyn Wilton Madoc divulges the situation to the public

Grestonian Battlegroup pulls past Baltic Strait.

Providence, Langholme - Just half an hour ago the Battlegroup pulled away from the Chausey Isles and passed the Baltic Strait. This news came with bait breath to the Grestonian National News Network and the Imperial Republic herself as it ruled out any possible hostilities with the Sovereign Imperial Dominion. Minutes ago the fleet entered the Argentarian Gulf, a gulf that shares territorial boundries with Telros, The Northern Baltic, and Argentaria. Now that the possibility of war with the Aschenhyrst, by attacking the Chausey Isles, is out of the way, leaving the only possible reason for the deployment is to capture and claim the former Mediterranican Union Trust Territory, Canalia. After GNNN assessed the situation, the Government finally released the reason for the deployment to the Republic, through us.

"I only kept the plans for colonization of Canalia to ourselves so that the Sovereign Imperial Dominion could not mobilise and take the Strait, including Canalia. Secretivity was necessary in this operation so that the mission could be carried out successfully. Which it has." The Intelligence Agency also seconded what the President mentioned to us.

Radio transmissions between the Intelligence Agency and other news corporations has finally been opened and we were able to get a hold of Commodore Thomas Phillip Parker, "The gaining of this territory is entirely necessary for our nation to gain as much of a foot hold in this region as the Sovereign Imperial Dominion does. They have Isthmatia, we have Canalia, we now control the water routes to the western half of the world to the central and eastern parts of the region."

Plans for building a second major canal has also been divulged. President Madoc also commented that, with the two large inland lakes in the northern half of the Forfullian Continent, they could possibly lead the canal northward to connect the two inland lakes. However to go ahead with such a project they would have to speak with the goverments of both Telros and the Northern Baltic.

"Such a project could create a large amount of jobs for all three of our nations, at the same time creating business and transportation. As well as improving relations," MP Michael Tillington commented on the plans for the canal. The battlegroup has not yet reached the territory we wish to aqquire and there are still possible problems that could occur in between now and then. The only reason the Government released the information is because they believed that, being as they passed the Chausey Isles, the main protestors to such a move would be out of the way.

Covering Story: Riots in Benghazi

Image
Protestors of the situation take to the streets.

Riots in Benghazi put a strain on Prime Minister Francesco Cesare's popularity.

Benghazi, It. Orientale - The Islamic Unity Party, formed and headed up by Suleiman Al-Jazzari, is a newly formed political coalition in Italia Orientale, currently a major competitor against Prime Minister Francesco Cesare and the INC-Social Democratic coalition. Holding a massive rally in Square of the Caliphs, Benghazi, with over 100,000 suppourters of Al-Jazzari and members of the Muslim Brotherhood attending the meeting, planned by Muslim Brotherhood religious leader, Usama al-Hamdani, contendor in the race for Prime Minister of Italia Orientale, Suleiman Al-Jazzari, was scheduled to speak to the crowd. Security was given by the Knights of Benghazi, and Amir Torelli, making sure that the Republican Police would not have jurisdiction over the rally. However, despite numerous warnings and their lack of jurisdiction, the Republican Police descencded upon the Square of Caliphs. Upon approaching, numerous eye witnesses and rally attendors stated that, "The Republican Police came to close to the event, rally goers started throwing bricks and rocks at the Police, probably what sparked the charge."

Upon being assualted by the crowd, the Police charged the crowd, beating rally goers with their batons and spraying excessive amounts of pepper spray. After shots were fired by Republican Police, the crowd produced weapons and exchanged shots with them, the Benghazi Militia seconds away and opening up on Republican Police forces. Being outgunned and out numbered, Republican Police officers retreated back to their station. When reports were needed to be filed, members of the Republican Police task force sent to quell the riot stated, "They were rioting, causing chaos, flipping cars, and burning shops."

Amateur videos produced by witnesses, now filling up on YouTube boards and Facebook prove, to some extent, that Republican Police did start the initial charge and that rally goers did not cause chaos until after the shots were fired. MP Paul M. Cologen of Langston stated to GNNN film crews, "Two rights don't make a wrong, the protestors threw bricks, the police brandished batons and fired shots; the police brandish batons and fire shots, the protestors produce guns, throw bricks, and fire shots; the protestors cause a riot, Republican Police exchange fire with Benghazi Militia and protestors; 7 police officers, 5 militiamen, and 9 protesters dead in the Square of Caliph, with 200 plus injured."

Injured victims of the riot have been transported to either the Ospedale Santa Croce or the Crescent Moon Hospital. Current Prime Minister of Italia Orientale, Francesco Cesare, is sympathetic of the occurance and has warranted issues of arrest for Captain Mehdi Karim and Lieutenant Sandro Domassi of the Republican Police for assualt, inciting a riot, criminally negligent command, and homicide, and Commander Amir Torelli of the Knights of Bengalli for inciting a riot, criminally negligent command, and the illegal use of firearms.

Of the dead prosters, Sani Pashti, daughter of political idealist and major political figure of the IUP Abdul Pashti, was of the casualties from the unfortunate miscommunications and following charge. The loss is bound to put a dent Prime Minister Cesare's reputation, already incredibly crumbling. President Llywelyn Wilton Madoc was not able to comment on the situation as was, and still is, in a conference in Westminister at the time.

Covering Story: Kopanian Mid Range Nuclear Missiles

Image
Missile test off the coast of Vera Cava in Sine Bay, in preparation for possible Kopanian attack.

Known terrorist state constructs MRNM; capable of reaching the Sine Bay.

Vera Cava, Gr. - Constant reports and updates on the current situation in Kopania have been flooding the Intelligence Agency and the Office of President. The masses have been demanding that current president, Llywelyn Wilton Madoc, comes upon a decisions on the current developements; noting that the state of Kopania, not recognized as a legal and sovereign state, has been undergoing projects to create weapons of mass destructions, Madoc has been uneasy on the topic. Kopania is not recognized as a legal country or the government legitimate, therefore their possesion of nuclear arms puts the modern, civilised world at risk. The current Kaiser has shown his dislike for the Imperial Republic in the past, with events like the War in Arab Jerusalem and the recreation of the Central Powers, Kopania already has hostilities with the Imperial Republic.

"Oh god, it scares me how easily any nutcase with some followers can obtain nuclear arms these days," commented MP Phillip Taylor of Johnstown. All over the country, the population is on edge, specfically in Vera Cava. Reports have shown that the Mikhailov III Mid-Range Nuclear Missiles have the capability of reaching the Sine Bay in Vera Cava; the reports have been shrugged off with experts pointing out that Kopanian technologies are not up to par with Grestonian technologies, therefore their Mid-Range Nuclear Missiles may not be as capable as those of any other nation.

However, residents of Vera Cava, specifically the Sine Bay area, are concerned, local shop own David Rondoso speaks for the whole city when he said, "How can I feel safe when these mad men can reach my home, my business, and my family with their nukes? I just hope Madoc can come up with a respectable decision on the situation before that Kaiser Franz Josef hauls off and burns down Sine Bay."

Reactions have differed tremendously, within the Federal Parliament, with MP's wishing to the go to war and parliamentarians shrugging off the possible threat. Some MP's feel that the reports are simply lies so that the already weak Kopanian military and government can hide behind weapons not in existance. However, Thomas Kaine spoke to GNNN films crews stating, "There is no doubt the Kopanians have these nuclear arms. The question is what they are going to do with them, and at that; how we are going to react."

Military assets, specifically nuclear deterents, have been more active since the reports. Satellites and our numerous space assets have began to surround the satellites and shuttels produced by Kopania; with the simple order a simultaneous attack in space by our satellites on their shuttle will occur. It is estimated that the Kopania shuttle will orbit above Grestonian air space within the next week, by then the President fears for the worst.

"I have no intent to go to war with the Kopanians. However, their movements are startingly me, any more sudden productions by these insane, unsensible, and murderous terrorists, and my cool and collective stance on the matter with be compromised. I have, however, no problem with sitting down with Kaiser Franz Josef and discussing and working out the situation with him. But as long as we keep the possibilities in mind, I am positive the Kaiser won't attack us."

The President rallied the populace with his quick speech, within which he mentioned how any more threats and the Imperial Republic must fore go a short, however bloody, war to stabilize the international community. President Madoc had no problems with shooting down Kopanian satellites and the possible launching of strategic missiles on specific Kopanian targets. Nuclear war, however, was out of the question.

Covering Story: Securing the Cities Initiative

Image
SPDO units partolling Toll Street leading to the Westminister Civilian and Trade Harbour.

No nukes here is goal of drill.

Westminister, Gr. - The SPDO and the Coast Guard were boarding ships in the Westminister Harbour as part of a drill aimed at practicing stopping vessels that could be carrying radioactive cargo, officials said. The drill, which started near the Rossenburg Bridge at 10 a.m., was part of the ongoing "Securing the Cities" initiative meant to guard against a dirty bomb or other nuclear devices. The Securing the Cities initiative is a process of slowly disregarding past weaknesses of the Imperial Republic, starting at the coasts and water, moving into the land and cities, and then into the sky promising our air craft assets are not outdated.

The exercise began in the Westminister as it is the famed "Gate of Easen", to enter through means of water routes to Easen it is required you pass through Westminister - something that is enforced both legally from laws passed in Parliament and physically as the Westminister covers up entrances to Easen. The drill -- in which several regional law enforcement agencies participated in -- is not in response to the threat of Kopanian and Comaackian possesion of nukes. However, MPs were skeptical of the last remark by SPDO Chief of Affairs, Lawrence Carter Wimbleton.

MP Paul M. Cologen of Langston, same MP who made important interviews with GNNN on the Italia Orientale situation, was unable to speak long with GNNN film crews. However he did say, "I doubt the exercises weren't precautions to the Kopanians nuclear arms. All in all, however, the city is safer and it is no matter how or why it became so."

Today's drill tested the agencies' ability to maintain a checkpoint on the water and intercept possible threatening ships. The exercises were a success, only adding on to the charisma of the SPDO and our valiant Coast Guard. Officials stated that after the drills are finished in Westminister they would begin in Easen next week.

Covering Story: Trasportation in Easen Proposal

Image
Public transport traffif in downtown Easen.

Sawyer wants to let you travel on midtown buses or trains free of charge.

Easen, Gr. - Who said there's no such thing as a free ride? Mayor Sawyer's commuter friendly campaign promises included free bus rides across Easen -- even though he doesn't have the power to implement it. Sawyer said free transit on key crosstown routes like the Carnegy Tripass or the Davidson m50 would help speed travel because riders wouldn't have to fumble for change or PTransCards.

He also proposed running express train service deep into Victoria, expanding the Easen Ticket program for cheaper PTrans and Westminister Rail Road rides within the city and bordering city, Westminister, reopening some closed WRR stations in Victoria.

"I take the subways every day, so you don't have to lecture me on how the sub ways work in this city," the mayor said to our GNN film crew. Sawyer controls two of sixteen votes on the Public Transport Authority Commitee but three more Commitee members are on the fence with his proposal. Even with Sawyer's heft in the PTrans Authority Comm some of his proposals have been on the PTran's drawing board for years; including his proposals to add countdown clocks in subways and to bus drivers with E-Z Passes to go through tolls without stopping at the gates.

However, Sawyer has a major contender to his proposal, long time political enemy of Sawyer's and contender in the October elections, Connor Philbert who previously urged the PTrans to expand the Easen Ticket, which charges a flat £b3.27 fare within limits.

Connor commented to our film crews earlier stating, "This plan is full of empty promises and stolen ideas."

Even with numerous contenders pointing out the major flaws with Mayor Sawyer's plan, the general public and population within Easen suppourt Sawyer's campaign move, claiming it will be a great help to the economy and the personal lives of the public in the long run.

Covering Story: Civil Unrest in Aorthia Province

Image
Foreign Affairs Minister, Findlay L. Yale Eberhard, addresses the public.

Civil unrest in Aortha leaves general population uneasy.

Aortha, Gr. - It is of no secret that recently, the already jostled populace of the Aorthia Province, and most prominently the within the city of Aortha, has been in much civil unrest as of late. After the tragic death of MP Hervey Kynaston, the city and, to a larger extent, the whole territory, have been split in half. In Parliament and in general, MP Hervey Kynaston was extremely vocal of his wish for a reunitement of the Alogorthian continent. When dining at a local bakery in Aortha, Constable Alan Celio was called to duty after a armed robbery; following the suspect into the bakery Kynaston was in, Constable Celio spotted MP Kynaston who fit the description of the suspect and shot when he felt in danger.

Gilbert Sanford, local resident and factory worker, who witnessed Kynaston being gunned down had this to say, "It is outrageous what happened to Hervey! The lies that this murderer is spewing is even more ridiculous."

Sanford was unknown until after the tragic event when he decided to create the Aorthian National Liberation Army, an organisation of volunteers pushing and protesting for the liberation of Aorthia. However, despite what they say, numerous members have armed themselves and taken up firefights with police and army units in the city. After such occurances the Aorthian National Liberation Army has been labeled a legal terrorist organisation and any members that can be detained will be.

"Hervey's death was not a tragic accident, rather a planned assassination set up by the tyrants in Easen to dispose of another one of their enemies," Sanford complained.

Mean while, in Easen, the violence of Aortha has spread. Arguements have broken out on the streets over the topic, Capitol Hill has been bogged down with outraged Alogorthian expatriates over the treatment of the ANLA members. With the possible revolt in the future, the population has become uneasy. In an attempt to ease the fear of the populace, President Madoc has planned on speaking to the public next week about the topic. Foreign Affairs Minister Findlay L. Yale Eberhard spoke at the Health Ministry and inspired numerous civilians to rise to the occasion.

"Today is not a time for the Grestonian population to wallow in fear; in history we have been known for our courageousness and for rising to the occasion. We cannot let trouble makers in Aorthia destroy our national pride, our prestige, our hope; do not let their nonsense falter you. We are Grestonians, we are proud, and we shall over come any obstacle in our way, and the Aorthian Consentient War, as it has been dubbed, is just another obstacle. And in our rich history, only a small one," the Foreign Affairs Minister continued to state that the Grestonian people should not let it harm them or their lives and the way we live.

Covering Story: Ceremony in Vera Cava

Image
President Llywelyn Wilton Madoc concludes his speech.

Ceremony in Vera Cava colony announces new State Minister and change of name.

Vera Cava, Vera Cava - Today President Madoc embarked on a tour of the colonies, specifically visiting territories of the Imperial Republic within native Tyrrhenia. First spot on the tour was a two day long visit to the famous Vera Cava colony, used to spread Grestonian influence to the Great Levantian Empire as well as a staging ground for attacks on Isthmatia. Since the collapse of the GLE and Comorostan sprouting out of the non strategic halves of Isthamatia, the Vera Cava colony slowly became less significant. Now used as a popular tourist attraction and essentially a massive military base, there wasn't too many topics to take up during the recent State Minister election within the Vera Cavan Federal Parliament.

However, a candidate from Wadebridge, near the border of Urcea, Osbourne Caldine, used national issues to win the election and the Vera Cavan Federal Parliament nearly hands down elected him. With President Madoc in the city of Vera Cava newly chosen State Minister Osbourne Caldine decided to host a gala. Numerous celebrities and politicians were in attendence to the gala, with speeches made by President Madoc, State Minister Caldine, First Admiral of the Fleet Riley Nigel Cradock, and Former Levantian Emperor and current Canaeran Crown Prince, Ryan St. Claire.

Before the speech there was a great hype of the surprise President Madoc had in store for the public and the attendees. When he first came up to the dias he made what the public thought was a mistake when he said, "Hello and welcome to the Tyrrhenian Vera Cava Galla, welcome people of Queensborough!"

President Madoc then continued to say, "The names of people and places are continuously changing; up until June 5th I had no nickname. Now I have been dubbed, by the press, people, and fellow politicians alike, the 'Mediterranican Liberator'. Up until yesterday, September 3rd, this territory was named Vera Cava after the aboriginals. Now it has been dubbed, legally, by the Federal Parliament and Federal Congressional Parliament alike as Queensborough."

He continued to explain the etymology of the name and the vote that different houses had and passed. After his inaguaration he had been reforming the colonies, from the garrisoning down to the township names. The original territory name was chosen mainly due to the aboriginals; after two decades of immigration and Grestonian citizens being born into the colony, the aboriginals have slowly left the scene, meshing in with the other racial groups like the Farquelanders, Korosovans, Rexhiemians, Urceans, and Canaerans.

Covering Story: UNTO Disbands

Image
Famous writer, Isaac Xelia, during an interview.

United Nations Trade Organisation officially disbands and public rejoices.

Waterford, Gr. - The long time enemy of the Imperial Republic, the United Nations Trade Organisation, officially disbanded when the alliance spokesmen nation, the leadership of Bohovia, declared that the alliance was charter was null and void. The long awaited announcement was met with much rejoice, both in the Parliament and in the streets. Numerous people and governments have been credited for the announcement that President Madoc had predicted, most notably; native Grestonian, writer, pamphleteer, and self proclaimed 'honest man', Sir Isaac Xelia. With Xelia's published political theorist book, The Futility of the World, the inherent problems with the United Nations Trade Organisation were brought to the attention of the international community.

"I am almost saddened to see UNTO vanish so easily," commented Xelia to GNNN camera crews, "I am only left with Greater Americanian imperialism to write about."

The September month was a month of constant victories, from the collapse of Comaack straight down to another bridge added to the Pan-Mediterranican Transportation Corridor, the Grestonian people have been happy all around. Among those credited with the UNTO demise is the Padullastahi Government aswell as President Madoc for his ultimatum.

With the current lack of enemies deemed unstable, deployed naval and aerial assets are being taken back and funding, to an extent, is being cut.

Covering Story: Gresto-Ryouese Relations

Image
Smoke rising from Ryouese city block, struck by Yukon air raids

Parliament passes bill announcing Grestonian involvement in new round of Ryouese troubles.

Westminister, Gr. - There has been three years space between when we last went to war with the Ryouese, in whatever form their country was at that point. Shortly thereafter, a year to this point, the Grand Ryouese Empire, an historical enemy of the Imperial Republic, finally, and triumpantly toppled, although at the hands of Orderian artillery upon Shai. Through the rubble the stubbourn Ryouese people have once again made their statement clear and reorganized what little territory that followed and reformed their former government, placing an infamous war heroeine of their nation as their Empress.

It wasn't until they began showing their blatant disregard for human rights when they massacred protestors towards their legalisation of gay marriage and lowering of the age of concesion. The Imperial Republic, in a vain attempt to stay out of their issues, simply made a statement, through the new Prime Minister, Mr. William Nigel Theobald Stuart-Wettin. The Foreign Affairs Ministry claims that a private letter, from Stuart-Wettin to Empress Shourisha herself, was written. They have not released the document, as of yet, other than spare sentences, such as the following:

"Now, it may be disputed that this soil is, within it of itself, illegal and that any one that has ever been labeled as a pirate, through means of recognisable papers and documents should not be the leader of a nation. However, my problem is not with this, but with the aggression this state is already showing, shortly after rebinding it's nation together from an extremely tiring civil war, which exhausted money, resources, and population alike. I would press, and hope, that you would turn back now from your aggressive stance towards the Yukon Confederacy."

The snipet lent to us by the Foreign Affairs Ministry leads us to believe that the Prime Minister, and by extension the President, are against the Yukon aggression but disagree with Ryouese instigation. The Intelligence Ministry, specifically Minister of Intelligence Sir Raymond Disgliero Kynaston who stated to our camera crews, shortly before departing for Ascelonia that, "Mr. Stuart-Wettin and his partners have been collaborating with Ozymos, Allied Governments, New Azura, and Libertarian Governance; my estimate shows that by the end of week the Parliament will be announcing an alliance between our nations for the betterment of the Ryouese people and combined, however defensive, front against the Yukon aggressors."

Earlier today, before Mr. Kynaston's statement was proven legitimate, the Parliament came to our networks with a statement that; "Mr. Kynaston's remarks, however ignorantly conjured, were, in fact correct. A Coalition of the Willing has been accepted by our governances and will be presented by the Prime Minister to the public and to the aggressors later today. The treaty outlined that our military presence is not there to serve the Ryouese Government; rather to serve for the betterment and improvement of the standard Ryou's life; as well as the rebuilding and restoring the nation, ravaged one two many times by artillery fire. Starting with Shai, the same foundations our very own First Admiral of the Fleet, Riley Nigel Cradock, crushed in his 2010 campaign, ending with the Battle of the Islands, will be restored to their former glory, some improved upon."

Which leaves us, the public waiting for the public announcement, the first speech Mr. Stuart-Wettin will give as Prime Minister, which will announce our coalition and it's charter. It only proves how tremendously one nation can change with that of a government administration. Under that of the tenure of Mr. Jerry Striker, we would have found ourselves, once again, under the shroud of war, being threatened with Anna Kali, but a third time. With the Madoc Administration comes reform, one major one being that of our position on the Ryouese nation.

Covering Story: Tyrrhenian Noble Houses

Image
Raphael Matthäus von Dusse of the House von Plöz-Dusse.

Madoc genealogy traced back to Waldenburger Raphael Matthäus von Dusse.

Blünderburg, Wa. - With the Grand Halls of Waldenburg being opened to Tyrrhenian governemnts first, and then the public, an influx of classic literary works, works of art, historic documents and records, and collections of all kinds have been flooding archives across Tyrrhenia. From never before seen passages from numerous epics to the complete Letters of Athos Haubr to Karrig Raudhar 1068, historians, archivists, genealogists, statisticians, and proffesors alike are overjoyed with the product of a liberated Waldenburg.

Among the documents retrieved by Grestonian proffesionals included the genealogy of the minor Waldenburg House von Plöz-Dusse. Among the von Plöz-Dusse's was Raphael Matthäus von Dusse, once Archduke of a small country side manner. The man, among the stong noble houses of Waldenburg, served in battle against Paloni in 1878 and was honoured with multiple medals. After his service in the Waldenburger Calvary, he settled down in the small country side manor to impregnant his wife of four years with two sons and three daughts, over the course of a decade. Among his offsprings was Ursel von Dusse; when she came of age around the turn of the century to marry she traveled abroad.

Her destination of choice being Lancaster, Greston. Instead of returning to the Waldenburg Empire, she married, in then Mednordia, to Wilton Chester Mardrock in 1902. Three generations and 69 years later, we see the last of the Ursel von Dusse Waldenburg von Plöz-Dusse line in Greston in current head of state, President Llylwelyn Wilton Madoc.

Through the opening of Waldenburger Archives we have been able to trace the genealogy of President Madoc back to his Great Great Great Great Grandfather, twice removed, an Archduke in Waldenburg of the von Plöz-Dusse House. Raphael Matthäus von Dusse; the father of Ursel von Dusse, wife of Wilton Chester Mardrock; parents of Marie Pherton-Madroc; mother of Riley Thomas Madroc; father of James Cameron Reid Madoc; father of Silas Theodore Madoc, father of Llywelyn Wilton Madoc.

Genealogist Arlen Elric Peers, Ph.D, commented on find by fellow proffessor stating, "Its shame and censorship that Madoc wasn't aware of his roots to begin with; such a simple family line as the one discovered, if not for the past Emperor's scouring anything with their name on it for the past centuries, perhaps we might have reconciled with the bergs a bit earlier."

Covering Story: Tyrrhenian Politics

Image
Field Marshal Robert Eudes Penthiévre (2013).

FM of the SALS, Robert Eudes Penthiévre given task to head Grestonian security at the Vienna Convention.

Easen, Gr. - As with the entirety of the Tyrrhenian region, the Imperial Republic was invited to humanitarian/human rights and war violations conference in Vienna this month; the conference being dubbed the "Tyrrhenian Geneva". The most interesting part of this conference is not the most important; a spectacle is being made of the security with all major power players in attendence boasting their compatibility skills and military gung-ho by participating in the many tiered defense.

Among the donations given to have this conference lift off the ground in the first place, the Sea Air and Land Service has deployed Task Force 228, given the special name of Task Force Alpha for this respective mission, to boast Grestonian superiority in the field of elite divisions. The Task Force includes eight-five sub machine gunners, thirty assault rifle corps, sixteen elite train snipers, and an Operations Command team with more brain and brilliance in one room since the November 13 Attacks in 2010.

Leading them all is world renowned Field Marshal, and war hero alike, Robert Eudes Penthiévre. Penthiévre was given the task in good will by President Madoc when he officially stated that he, himself, along with Prime Minister Stuart-Wettin, would be representing Greston at the conference. Madoc trusted him with the details knowing that he would be able to conjur a better OC Team than himself, who has never served in the military.

Comprising the dream team is Brigadier George Arnon Sieffre made Chief Communications Relays Officer, Brigadier Nathaniel Drogo made Chief Ground Operations Commander, Colonel William Millard Willis as the Sunshine Sniper Squadron Commander, Colonel Hunter Tammaro as Emergency Specialist, and Lieutenant Colonel Wybert Triston Leroi, an up coming future commander and hopeful for the rank of Colonel as the Chief of SALS Task Forces in Escafin. Together, the group puts together more military strategy and genius than could come of decades of learning and studying.

Despite this amazing show of colours, no SALS soldier shall step inside the Parliament building once the meeting is declared begun. The Task Force will start shipping over within the day, preparing and running drills for the big day a week from now.

Covering Story: Vienna Convention

Image
President Madoc awaiting his departure for Vienna, Mykola.

Kaiser and President in the same room and not on the topic of war demands?

Easen, Gr. - The rumours are true, President Madoc, along with a select small team of SALS Operatives have already started their journey to Vienna, two weeks prior to the begining of the Convention. Madoc, along with Prime Minister William Nigel Theobald Stuart-Wettin, were invited to a sit in at the Royal Palace with Kaiser Franz Josef II. Excessive security plus a bed in the Palace, the President was essentially invited to pal around with one of the most powerful men in Tyrrhenia.

Prime Minister Stuart-Wettin declined the offer, stating, "My place is here in Easen; Zephyr Avenue can only stand without me for week, let alone four."

Despite what his statement said, he still intends to attend the Convention, however he shall not be leaving early as Madoc has. He will rather be flying over around the same time most other delegates would start to. Madoc, already packed, and his papers produced, his key statements conjurred, and his staff ready, is to board the lumbering Boeing VC-25 parked in Easen circa 6:00 PM today and is to arrive at Vienna around 7:00 AM tomorrow morning.

As most of his schedule was not revealed, or not presented to him yet by the Kaiser, the only scheduled event that we are aware of is his meeting with the Kaiser upon arrival. Not since peace talks held in Greston a century ago have a President of the Imperial Republic of a Kaiser of the Reich been in the same room as each other.

With our coloured history between each other, it is a pivotal moment in future Tyrrhenian relations to see how Madoc's meeting turns out.
