From the Office of the President of the Most Serene Republic of Karniverous
The people of Karniverous extend our deepest condolences for the losses your nation has sustained as a result of this natural disaster. We are extremely sorrowed to see such a disaster hit your shores. Our nation is poised to offer as much support as you would like. As of now, we are able to offer $500,000 in disaster relief supplies, including food, water, medicine, and other necessities. If you would like, we are also prepared to send in an Amphibious Strike Group from the Karniveran Navy to the shores of Ubuikon. This ASG would provide additional search and rescue support, as well as provide a forward base for Karniveran relief operations. The ASG contains a San Antonio Class amphibious transport dock and a hospital ship, as well as several other supporting warships with a compliment of 2,000 Karniveran Marines ready to provide support to your relief operation.
President Peter Brown

The Premier once again would like to thank the Caliphate for their donations. The death toll so far has fortunately not risen above 300.

The Premier is secretly furious by the invitation of Bront, the head of Alternative. This man has just murdered a government official and he has international recognition??
The Premier calls a meeting. Some advise him to accept the aid and let Bront go. After all, his absence in Perotasoa may help calm things. But most counter that this recognition of Bront is outrageous. They recommend that the Premier use the fact that some military is coming to claim that Bront has secretly asked the URA to do this so he could seize power. This claim will probably anger the URA, but its advantages outweigh anything else. So the Premier issues a statement:
"The URA aid will not be allowed into Perotasoan waters. We have seen quite clearly how Alternative was responsible for Votl's death. It is likely that they have summoned the URA's military as well. Well, they shall not enter."
Unfortunately for the Premier, Bront is still in the country. And he is furious.

This is on level with something a tyrannical dictator would be willing to do: starve dissidents and leave them to disease. I, and the people of the URA, will not stand for this. We will go the Ubuikon. We will help the people there in their time of dire need. And if we are fired upon by the Perotasoan military on a humanitarian mission, we will respond will military force. That is all. Good night."
Upon the address of President Drake, the task fleet of Remnant Navy ships moved onward, closing their distance to Perotasoa, and more importantly, the wayward island of Ubuikon.

The Premier is unhappy. These people first said they were bringing aid, then battleships, and now they've declared war. Wasn't it crystal clear that Alternative was all behind this?? To be sure of support, he discreetly orders for another 118 million Nova Perutas to be brushed under the carpet for aid in Ubuikon. After all, the sitation there is getting much better and the casualty toll has halted at 232 exactly. Wouldn't he have their support?
The government issued a statement saying that the URA had basically declared war on Perotasoa, despite their apparent 'good' intentions. The government will be dealing with this further. Meanwhile. the navy was docked around the coast of Ubuikon, waiting for the invaders.

The Perotasoan ships cluster towards the general area that the URA ships are moving towards. They are hoping that the URA ships will at least stop as opposed to continuing and firing. Perotasoa has made it clear that it will not fire the first shot.
The Premier has now declared that he would like to have negotiations with the URA before a potential war breaks out.

The government of Karniverous is happy to help Perotasoa in their time of need. Our Marines are working hard to help evacuate survivors and search the island of Ubuikon for any signs of life. However, it should be known that these Marines will defend themselves at all costs. Our government has 2,000 armed Marines as well as a fully operational detachment of gunships and F-35 fighters aboard the KNS Vigilant. Our troops will defend themselves at all costs. It is advisable to not engage any troops or vehicles bearing the Karniveran flag.
In addition, we are committed to defending the sovereignty of Perotasoa. We would like to extend our hospitality to Perotasoa and the URA, we would like to hold the negotiations aboard the KNS Vigilant. We will serve as a neutral third party to monitor the talks.
However, should this standoff lead to armed conflict, we will engage all URM forces with impunity. A carrier task force from the Karniveran 4th Fleet has been placed on standby and will arrive in 10 hours to support the KNS Vigilant's Amphibious Strike Group. Karniveran special forces have also been placed on standby.

"Gentlemen, welcome to our new Economic Union Committee. Ever since Votl's death, and to some extent even before, Perotasoa has been pushing for an economic partnership with the New Mushroom Kingdom. And while this may seem not offering much to the NMK, which has quite a strong economy, I believe that we do have benefits in working with Perotasoa. The Perotasoan economy is now starting to open up, and investment in the economy is a worthwhile project.
"From my conversations with the Premier of Perotasoa, I believe that Perotasoa is particularly keen on investing in its two large cities, Ophir and Peratasa. Ophir currently has the potential to become an international world class city, but now the Perotasoans are looking into developing Peratasa too. I believe this is a response to the rise of Perotasoan nationalism, which sees Peratasa as its capital; but I personally believe that investment in Ophir is more valuable to us than it would be in Peratasa. So I can't agree to Perotasoa's request on this unless the majority of gentlemen here believe that we should invest in Peratasa too.
"I believe that economic potential does not end with the cities. We must find sectors of our economy that would benefit from integration with Perotasoa, for example the Transport and Environmental sectors, which are currently enjoying a period of success in Perotasoa. Perotasoa is currently recovering from a long period of social minded governments, so they will be very open to anything we suggest to them, giving us the upper hand as of now. We can also allow newly formed Perotasoan companies to invest in the NMK, though we will have to ensure that this union does not extends as far as a situation where we are totally not in control over our economy.
"So what do you gentlemen think?"

Vince smiled.
"Wow, it seems I am being a bit too nasty to Perotasoa. Fancy that!". He chuckled to himself. For the first time since he had heard of Votl's death he was fully relaxed.
"So I think that's a good idea to list all the corporations interested in overseas investment. It will be helpful to monitor which sector they are most interested in and then direct them to certain Perotasoan provinces. However, I don't want to throw up too much red tape in all this; while we may be more vigilant in regulating business actions between the NMK and Perotasoa at this early point in time, as things start to get under way I would like the government to hold a looser grip on corporations investing in the other nation. After all, we need competition and capitalism to bring prosperity!"

Despite it sounding a bit rude, Vince allows it to go through. This was is fun!
Meanwhile, Vince is scheduled to soon meet with his new Cabinet, of the top Mushroomian officials who will tell him how the country is currently running and, for tonight, how the NMK is reacting to his leadership.
