Huaxia, a historic land that stretches back 5,000 years in the annals of history. Huaxia, a nation with a tumultuous past, Huaxia, a nation oppressed, Huaxia, a nation in turmoil. Following the Second Great War, the Communist Party of Huaxia usurped power in Huaxia, and instilled a totalitarian regime upon it. Huang Jiedong, the founder of the People's Republic of Huaxia proved to be a ruthless leader, killing tens of millions of dissidents by making them toil away, subjugated in inhumane labor camps. He proved to be one who would only send the Huaxian Economy crashing down, one who would ruthlessly massacre civilians, most notably in Guangchang Square, where military soldiers massacred thousands of students who called for democracy.
Just as things looked bleak for Huaxia, Huang quietly died in his sleep on September 9th, 1976, and gave way for a new Huaxia. The Communist party saw an inner strife, and had two factions, the reformers, who wanted to transform Huaxia into a liberal capitalist democracy, and the Hardliners, who wanted to continue on the totalitarian, single-party communist dictatorship that was a direct result of Huang's legacy. By the 1980s, a moderate agreement was reached, where there would be market reforms, but the nation will continue to be ruled by an authoritarian single-party government. This allowed for great investment and growth in Huaxia, where a once bleak nation would become one that is prosperous.
In 2015, a new premier was chosen by the Politburo, his name, Cheng Zihui. Cheng was one of the most ideological of the reformers, advocating western-style democracy and true capitalism. He first took responsibility for what happened in Guangchang Square, and the mass killing of tens of millions, before liberalizing the market, granting religious, press and speech freedoms and ending abusive human rights practices and censorship, all of which gave him a substantial lauding from people in and outside of Huaxia. His policies greatly improved Huaxian reputation and the economy, with its 2016 growth rate being at a staggering 11%.
Despite the moderate faction prevailing, a good portion of the military, and a small minority in the newly formed Congress of Huaxia, which is more democratic than its predecessor despised the man for "undermining the values of Huaxia". Just as he began to instill democracy, small-scale battles took place in military garrisons, where pro-Hardliner soldiers would try to force locals to vote for the Hardliner Faction by force, in which the pro-reformer troops would fight back to allow for true elections. Meanwhile, pro-hardliner troops sack Cilong, the capital, and forced all reformers to escape to Qiantian, where they setup the Huaxia National Party. Following them were the pro-reformer soldiers, and those who wished to not be oppressed.
The hardliner faction would continue to usurp power in the sections where the reformers were forced to abandon, as the reformers ensure that in the areas they still control, they would continue to be under theirs.
Everything culminated in the Battle of Hongqi, where Hardline troops fired upon Reformer troops, signaling the start of the Second Huaxian Civil War. As a direct result, the Big Three (Organized States, West Aurelia and Coldwater) launched a direct intervention onto Huaxia, to ensure that freedom shall prosper, and despotism will falter
Factions:
Reformists
Formed following the death of Huang Jiedong, the Reformists aim to transform Huaxia into a liberal capitalist democracy, and away from the Communism of the past. Recently, they saw many of their policies be implemented with great success, until the Communist Hardliners were able to exile them to southern Huaxia

Hardliners
Born in the ideology of Huang Jiedong, and believing that they are the legacy of his ideology, they seek to return Huaxia to the state before the death of Huang, with an omnipresent state that reinstates Communism back into Huaxia. Despite their recent failure, many officials have been able to grasp a good portion of the military, allowing them to send the Reformists out of a good portion of Huaxia and outside the Communist Party.
