After Denmark's recent changes in policy, Canada cancels the planned attack on Denmark. The Canadians decide that they no longer seem threatening, only desperate to not be crushed by Canadian forces. They probably knew about the planned attacks by the telegram that only they would have reason to intercept. They must've given back the conquered Icelandic territory and stopped being communist all for Canada. How sweet.

Summoned to the UD summit, Swedish Prime Minister Tage Erlander has arrived fashionably late. Getting out in the airport this morning in London (while paranoid about being assassinated) he arrived at the summit. He saw British King George V, Canadian Prime Minister William King and new Danish Prime minister Victor Svenningsen arguing and decided to interrupt the exchange.

The West Congolese elections have happened:

The MPR has narrowly won against the MNC, Kasavubu has accused Mobutu of rigging the election and has accused Lumumba of being cowardly. ABAKO supporters has started a riot in downtown Léopoldville, Western Congolese police are forced to use batons, sjambok whips and the new Swedish m/1938 rifles and m/45 SMGs as they lack proper riot gear. Hundreds are killed in the rioting as ABAKO supporters target MNC and MPR supporters while MPR supporters target ABAKO supporters. Mobutu has suspended constitutional rights and parliament and has declared a state of emergency. The ports are closed off and all foreigners in the city are being heavily guarded and put under curfew by the RAC. UPB troops begin opening fire upon RAC troops and Kasavubu has an arrest warrant placed on him as Mobutu declares his position of President as null and void, Mobutu officially takes over as head of state and head of government.
