Ever since the end of the 1st Kazardan War, tensions between North and South Kazardan have never really ceased. Despite the fact that the nation is united under the Peoples Republic of Kazardan, the nation still feels the aftermath of the Kazardan War. The more Socialist North have never agreed with the more Capitalist South, and this has lead to major national and international problems. On 11 December, 2003, the Autonomous Republic of South Kazardan was officialized after 7 months of national debating. Pro-Socialist citizens of Kazardan whom reside in South Kazardan did not like the fact that South Kazardan was autonomous, and declared that South Kazardan was a Capitalist UN attempt to break up the territorial sovereignty of the Peoples Republic of Kazardan. Pro-Socialist riots and protests followed, which was countered by Pro-Capitalist riots and protests.
In 2005, South Kazardan formed the South Kazardan Response Force (SKRF) which was backed by the USA, UK and the UN. President Vhin Quan protested to the UN that the SKRF was an armed military force, which violated the terms of the autonomy of South Kazardan, but the UN denied the claim and the US continued to arm the SKRF. In 2007, the SKRF opened fire on masses of pro-Socialist protestors, whom were peacefully protesting in the administrative center of South Kazardan. National rage ensued, and many pro-Capitalist figureheads in the Peoples Republic of Kazardan were arrested. In 2008, the SKRF launched 'Operation Surging Force'. Operation Surging Force was the SKRF's attempt to 'remove Socialist terrorists' from South Kazardan. During this operation, the SKRF launched heavy offensives against villages 1km from the South-North border, resulting in heavy civilian casualties.
On 1 August, 2008, SKRF bombarded the town of Thskinvai, with a population of 20,000. The bombardment was so intense that by 3 August, 2008, there was only 11,000 remaining citizens in Thskinvai. The SKRF claimed pro-Socialist militias had launched an attack against an SKRF convoy and that they were operating out of Tshkinvai, but 2 years after the 2008 Kazardan War the former South Kazdaran MoD admitted that it was a lie. On 4 August, 2008, 3,000 SKRF forces successfully launched an attack and captured the Southern half of Tshkinvai. At 2300 Hours, 4 August, 2008, SKRF rocket fire deliberately opened up against KPM positions on the South-North border. On Augist 5, 2008, The Peoples Republic of Kazardan declared WAR on South Kazardan.
South Kazardan surrendered on day 13 of the war, after 5,100 SKRF soldiers had been killed, and 120,000 Kazardan Peoples Military soldiers poured into South Kazardan.
It is now 2015, the SKRF numbers at 57,000 personnel and has declared the re-activation of Operation Surging Force. The SKRF have been illegally armed with tanks, MLRS' and other weapons, in the general modernization of the SKRF. Prior to this, the SKRF had been relying on soviet era tech. The US denied arming the SKRF but a heavy Kazardan government investigation has found the US guilty of selling illegal weapons to an illegal military. Kazardan is on the brink of war.
