The Rekovian Lord’s Army, abbreviated RLA, is a Stasnovan Christian Orthodox Right-Wing Fundamentalist Separatist movement founded in the late 1992 by Vladislav Zakhaev in the State of Rekovia, Province of Ostokova, United Socialist States of Stasnov. The movement was especially inspired by the Bratislavian Right-Wing revolutionary Rasman Boxeshi and his ideals. With the success of the Bratislavian Revolution in 1992, a separatist sentiment begun rising among the Orthodox Stasnovan population of Rekovia a province of historical independence from the Stasnovan Empires and Kingdoms of the past. It was nothing serious at first, only a few peaceful anti-government rallies were held hear and there.
But in 1993, with the rise of extremely anti-religious Premier Viktor Karamazov to power after the 25th Party Congress, and his extremely harsh policies towards the religious institutions of Stasnov, including the Stasnovan Orthodox Church, and in 1997 the spark became a fire. After the chaos in Rekovia grew larger and larger in scale, Premier Igor Demichev came into power to replace Karamazov after the emergency 26th Party Congress in 1998. His actions didn’t only not bring the situation in Rekovia under control, but caused the rebellion to grow even larger, resulting in the creation of the autonomous Holy State of Rekovia.Seeing that Demichev’s failed policies were only leading to disaster, a group of patriotic Stasnovan officials and military leaders, headed by the then General Secretary, Dimitri Basayev, led a silent coup that overthrew Demichev and installed a government under Basayev. Basayev immedeately scap most of the policies of the previous administrations towards religions, replacing them with more neutral ones.
Meanwhile, in Rekovia, continuous clashes between separatist warlords left the region in ruins. Some of the most extremist Orthodox ones, led purges and mass murders against local non-Christian community, with the Muslim minority facing the most brutality by the RLA. A number of Stasnovan Revolutionary Army units stationed within Rekovia, defected to the side ot the RLA, as many of their commanders were local Orthodox. These units helped the warlords in their war of terror. Rekovia couldn’t be left in separatist hands, and the new Stasnovan government knew that.
During the rest of the rest of 1998 and up to August of 1999, the Stasnovan military amassed along the Stasno-Rekovian border. Vladislav Zakhaev, the leader of the RLA, managed to unify the warlords to some degree in order to face the incoming invasion, with the help of Orthodox fighters from the Sokolian Dutchy. In the evening of August 12th, Stasnovan tanks entered Rekovia.
The Rekovian War lasted until early January 2001, with an insurgency phase lasting until the 15 April 2011, when the last important Separatist leader was killed by Stasnovan special forces. Now in 2015, the Rekovian conflict is something from the past, with seemingly no significance in front of the much larger conflict raging the in the region of Atlas. Analysts have stated that the remnants of the RLA are no longer a threat to the territorial integrity of Stasnov.
But, they were proven wrong…

In a shocking address to the public today, the Chief of Staff of the Stasnovan Armed Forces, General Morozov, announced the two thirds of the city of Grazdnovo, State of Rekovia, Province of Ostokovka, have been occupied by Rekovian Lord’s Army militants. It was stated that the militants launched lighting strikes against government, police and military installations using heavy weaponry, and capturing them quickly. Military sources also state that the militants have gained access to armoured vehicles from the Karkanov Vehicle Repair Plant near the city.
It has been confirmed that the remaining military personnel that wasn’t captured or killed my the terrorists, has established an extremely fragile defensive line, trying to desperately prevent the rest of the city from falling to separatist hands. All possible was to get in and out of the city have been blocked by RLA checkpoints, that shoot at everything and everyone that doesn’t bear the RLA’s colours. A small convoy of five civilian trucks trying to flee the area into Stasnovan-controlled territory, has been shot at with large-caliber machine guns and grenade launchers. Our sources confirm that other similar incidents have been happening overnight, with civilian casualties rising.
The separatists have also captured numerous villages with the towns of Vlazdeve and Kurbagova also falling to the RLA terrorists. The fighting strength of the 38th Motor Rifle Regiment stationed in Kurbagova has been allegedly reduced to a few platoons, that have been trying to evacuate the area’s civilians.
General Morozov has stated that a mass mobilisation of all Stasnovan Military forces in the area is in effect, with the 18th Guards Motor Rifle Division reportedly moving to reinforce the remaining Stasnovan forces within the city. A large-scale air campaign is also rumoured to begin in the next days, and two Zmeya-Class Multi-role Destroyers of the 1st Fleet have also been seen sailing towards the Northern Keidlave Gulf, possibly to assist the ground forces with their land-attack missiles.
The Commissar of Foreign Affairs has also made a public statement today, pleading for international assistance: “Today something very dreadful happened in the westernmost part of our country. The fundamentalist Orthodox terrorists, of the so-called Rekovian Lord’s Army, have seized most of the city of Grazdnovo, slaughtering civilians, soldiers, and policemen alike in the process. Our brave comrades in the Armed Forces will not be intimidated by those petty terrorists. The Stasnovan response will be swift and brutal! Nevertheless, we realise the our country is in a dire position right now, thus, I humbly request the assistance of the international community, our allies, so we can face the threat of religious fundamentalism within our borders.”
