[Stahn]

Sergeant Tweet and 25 Aglinean partisans scouted ahead for the main force, making sure they didn't unexpectedly ran into enemy forces. After some time a young man on an old motorcycle drove towards Tweets squad and wildly waved his arms. Tweet and his partisans carefully and slowly approached the boy and could see that he was dressed in Aglinean clothes, typical of the farmers that lived nearby. Tweet decided he could trust the boy and walked towards him.

"What is going on? he asked. "These are dangerous parts. Shouldn't you be back home?"

The boy breathed heavily. It was clear that he was very exited. "I knew the resistance was active in these parts. The town's elders told me. There is a force of Davidian troops and you are about to run right into them!" the boy warned the sergeant.

"Davidian troops? This close to the border?" This seemed very unlikely to Tweet. They are probably part of the nationalist, anti communist faction he just heard about. He ordered 5 of his comrades to head back to the main force and warn them and took the rest of his unit to where the Davidian forces were supposed to be.
After 20 minutes he could hear the sound of heavy engines and not long after that he saw several armored fighting vehicle,s in the standard green paint scheme of the Davidian army, in a clearing in the woods.

Tweet could recognize the models: 4 amphibious Frogs and 2 Ironclad light tanks.
He knew the Frogs were still in use by the Davidians but he has only seen the Ironclad in use by other, less well equipped, armies the Stahnese have engaged in combat since he became Gomhtogs right hand man and started working for the Stahnese.

The crew driving these vehicles must be lost or looking for something they can't find as they stopped moving and turned their engines of. A roof hatch of one of the Frogs opened and the female commander of the vehicle stuck her head outside. Tweet saw her red skin and clothes in rusty brown and therefor realised that she was not a Davidian nor an Aglinan.
This must some of the captured Davidian equipment Tweet knew the Stahnese were planning to send the Aglinean resistance.

Tweet stood up from his crouching position and walked towards the Stahnese with his comrades close behind him.

"Hello there. Don't shoot. We're from the Aglinean resistance.Welcome to Aglinean" Tweet shouted while waving his arms.

The young female commander smiled and shouted back. "You won't believe how happy I am that we have found you. The Welgians are amassing forces near the Stahnese border. We almost ran into a rather large unit. I thought we were screwed for sure. We have some presents for you with us."

Tweet approached the Frog and replied "presents are always welcome. What has Santa's little elf brought us this year?" he asked, gently making fun of the rather short Stahnese commander.

She took it well and answered smiling "well for starters some nice timeless classic Davidan vehicles, as you can see. But we also brought something lovingly made in Santa Gomhtog's very own workshop. Some fine, brand spanking new Stahnese Assault Rifles. How do you like them apples?"

Sergeant Tweet liked them apples just fine.

[Macedonian Grand Empire]

The sentinels listened to the plan and offered their insight on the situation "The area where we will be going provides several good sniper nests. I think we should put our best snipers at those 4 nests. Team 3 are expert marksman and they can take one nest. I think you can provide man for the other 3 nests. Their job would be to provide sniper cover and help with the inflitration. My advice is to use silenced sniper rifles for start. Latter on we will transition to the .50 cal sniper rifles for taking out heavier targets. We are ready to move as soon as you are. Just i need to brief rear admiral Roberts on the situation."
"Rear admiral we will be moving with the Stahn forces towards the summer palace. I am more then sure they are expecting us. Any help would be appreciated"
"I will keep at least 2 satellites in order to provide the most up to date information about the compound. Remember in case you are caught you are not troops of the empire/"
"Yes sir" with that he closed the link and went back to his men. "All right people,i want Johan and Martin to be all the time near the nest to protect the snipers and to provide support using the date received from the satellites. Also stack up on the drones and sensor grenades. lets improve our information before jumping in."

With that they went on to board the helicopters. On the other hand the imperial high command was getting ready for the shit storm. Under orders from high command the 24 divisions were moved towards North Desrenkov. From there they would be on a 2 days long sailing towards Stahn.

[Diliath]

Emperor Varesios I was listening to the radio while writing his signature under senate ideas. Then he heard something over the situation on the Yeshuan Continent and immidiately was his attention drawn. As he listened to the news about the mobilization and about the occupation of Aglinean. He new as every other leader that a crisis is an opportunity. He did too understand that without help Davida and Welgium would be crushed when war would openly start, unless the got help. Before he would send help to Davida and Welgium would he first send delegates to both countries to gauge wether they would stand a change or not and how they are standing to Diliath. He directly sent message to both nations to inform them about the coming delegations. After that did he gather two delegations and in three hours were both governments informed and were the delegations on their way. Varesios was hoping that his involvement in this case would become a succes and that it would lead to further diliathian expansion.

[Zorga]

Somewhere in Aglinean
The communists were quite surprised to see another Stahnese soldier. But, they were even happier to receive such elegant gifts from them. The troops happily took the assault rifles and passed them out amongst themselves. After getting themselves armed, partisans loaded atop these vehicles and quickly adjusted themselves to the controls and once everyone was situated, they loaded up, and continued on their journey. Aleg, started to converse with the female Stahnese soldier.

Aleg was also alerted to the missing APLA patrol that was sent to the Western part of the nation. On the return of the mission, he will send a telegram to the suspected location of the so called, ALF, and make contact with them. He hopes they weren't captured by the Welgians.

ALF Base
The commander, Jorg Kelg, and his leaders started to plan for future attacks on Welgians. Since they were more south west in Aglinean, they were quite isolated, and had no help from Stahn or any other nations on the continet. Unlike the communists, the population fully supported the Nationalist/Republic/Monarchist backed ALF, which fought to preserve Aglinean to a democratic, capitalist society. Unlike the communists, the ALF was better treated, better fed, and better protected by the populace. Instead of traveling around in large groups, the ALF sent out small contingents of troops, to disable communications lines, damage/destroy bridges and rail lines, and raid supply convoys. They have also liberated a small town, in which they call home. The town is very well defended, being surrounded by large hills and thick woods, and protected by a large force of ALF troops.

Since they recently raided a small stockpile of Davidan weaponry, the ALF is primarily armed with Davidan weaponry such as Davidan Battle Rifles and Davidan pistols. They are well trained in sabotage and hit and run engagements, but are not very good when it comes to heavy fighting. Recently, they have captured a small band of 30 APLA partisans, and are holding them captive. The commander hopes to gain the attention of the APLA, and force interaction with each other. This, he hoped, would lead both groups to work together, to defeat the Welgian invaders.

[Macedonian Grand Empire]

Kristijanopolis 08.00 hours Grand Marshal Apostolov residence
The Grand Marshal was the chief of Staff of the Macedonian Grand Empire high command. A carrier officer with 30 years of experience and a major part of every possible war under the last 2 emperors. He did quite like the manner of the current emperor, a guy that did not put too much emphasis on ceremony during the normal day to day running of affairs. He left that during visits from dignitaries. Apostolov put on his standard grand marshal uniform and slowly made his way towards the entrance of his house. Outside the small 3 car motorcade was awaiting him. Two BMW M3 as escort and his BMW 550d as his personal car. During normal days he liked to drive by himself. Knowing the situation in Stahn, this might be one of his last such day. His security team entered the car and they exited his 35 room house in the elite district of Kristijanopolis and started their way towards Kristijanopolis downtown area. Overlooking the bay in the downtown area stood the massive 1.500 room Imperial Grand palace. The Grand Palace was the official residence of the emperor and the seat of power for the entire empire.

War seems inevitable your Highness. And unfortunatly according to our reports, Stahn stands alone on the continent. This is the intelligence report of the probable allied forces of Davida and Welgium have against Stahn:
We are talking about 84 carriers. Despite being smaller then the Nimitz class carriers we are talking about a massive force.
They also have jointly 680 submarines. and a lot of smaller ships.
The faces of the imperial council were bleak. the emperor spoke then.
In that case lets mobilize the 6th and 8th fleets. We will need a plan to demolish the Welgian submarine fleet asap.

Meanwhile on Amschel Bürgermeister's yacht.

Amschel is being visited by one of his best agents, Bert Janus, a short, stocky and rather unsightly man who has traveled to his yacht by means of a helicopter.

Janus has just been in Aglinean and is informing Amschel on the situation there. How several resistance groups have risen to fight the Welgian occupiers and have gotten their hands on Stahnese and surprisingly Davidian equipment as well.

Both men are still unaware of the joint Stahnese assault on the princes palace as not one of the satellites that feed them information are at the moment directly above the Aglinean Alps. (Where they would need to be to spot the Stahnese helicopters flying low between the mountains.)

Amschel Bürgermeister: "Disappointingly the Welgians have still not been able to provoke the Stahnese into going to war against them. I have decided to go forward with operation Red Cloth. You are to arrange the assassination of the Davidian President and Secretary of Defense and make it seem like the Stahnese are behind it. They are both useless idiots anyway.

That brings me to the topic of Mart Symme.
This man has become very popular as the supposed hero of the Zerran Civil War and the capturer of the Zerran dictator, Marshal Taylor.
I consider him to be a great threat to my plan for he is a dangerous idealist and could very well run for president when Shrub has been taken out."

Bert Janus:"You want him dead as well?"

Amschel Bürgermeister: "No. It is his character I want assassinated, but I will arrange for that to happen myself. I want you to go see Marshal Taylor. Tell him that in exchange for his services he will be immediately be released from prison and his reputation will not only be resored but it will be arranged that he will be considered the real hero of the Zerran Civil War. The public will be persuaded to believe that as the leader of the nation he always fought against Stahnese oppression and that Mart Symme and the allies that took him from power were secretly working on behalf of the Stahnse Empire."

Bert Janus:"And what am I to tell the Marshal what his is supposed to do in exchange?"

Amschel Bürgermeister:"He and his supporters that are in Davidian custody are to go to Aglinean, pretend to be pro Stahnese partisans and terrorize the Aglineans and fight the real partisans."

Bert Janus:"Understood. If that is all I will go see Marshal Taylor right now."

Amschel Bürgermeister:"That is all. Bon voyage."

And so Bert Janus went to see Marshal Taylor and presented him with Bürgermeister's offer.

[Welgium]

The delegates wondered how they were incriminating - it's not as if people know that the NMK isn't corrupt. However, they had no other option. They accepted the deal.

The Colonel was pleased. "Don't feel that you are being forced to do something that is not in your self interest gentlemen. Our Queen's gratitude knows no limit. If you will hold up to your end of the bargain, you will be richly rewarded.

Now I must invite you to follow me. It is about high time that we leave this place as fast as possible because if I am not mistaken, the Stahnese are on their way to this very palace to get their hands on who they believe to be the prince of Aglinean."

A Welgian captain that was also in the room:"But sir. our forces at the Aglinean Stahnese forces have reported that all is still quiet on the northern front. The long range radars of the anti air unit stationed outside have also not detected any enemy aircraft in range."

The Colonel:"I am convinced Gomhtog will have taken action in some form or other right after we have broadcasted the fake prince's accusations. Gomhtog is well underway, I am absolutely sure of it.

Now, if the Mushroomi gentlemen will follow me to the gyronefs outside? We will be heading back to Welgium. The queen would very much like to see you now."

A group of Welgian soldiers escorted the diplomat of Diliath from the airport to the royal palace. There he was received by consul John Hancock.

"Welcome to Welgium" he said.

The diplomat and the consul exchanged handshakes.

John Hancock continued:

"I am hoping both our nations can become good friends. Welgium has been a rather isolated nation so far but now that we have decided to act against the continuous aggression and provocations of the Stahnese hordes, improving relations with outsider nations would be most welcome for us."

High Security Prison, Somewhere in Davida
Marshal Taylor was sitting in his cell block, writing in his journal. It was a thick book, filled with tons upon tons of journal entries and thoughts. He was an aging man, with a good mix of grey and black hair. His face was covered in stubble and had some lengthy hair. He was still tough though, working out in the gym to keep fit. As he was minding his business, two Davidan guards opened up his cell block, and escorted him to a private talking area. There, he met with a younger looking man in a dark blue suit. He looked very wealthy and powerful, once like the Marshal himself. He introduced himself and started to talk to the Marshal about the plan. He listened closely, while looking around and grinning.

After the Davidan finished talking, the Marshal laughed. He laughed so hard, that he began to cough. After collecting himself, he spoke to the Davidan man;

"Seems tempting. However..." he chuckled, "I find it very funny that the nation who tried to bring me out of power, wants to quickly put me back into it."

He leaned back in his chair, smiling. He immediately thought of all the Zerrans who were put to their deaths during his regime. He could still hear the screams and shrieks of agony fresh in his mind, buried into his skull. All he could do, is sit there and smile and laugh like a little schoolboy. He was very happy at this offer. After briefly thinking, he leaned forward and said;

"Alright... I accept this offer, BUT....on two conditions. I will be restored to my original rank of Marshal, and be given my personal golden gun. For those two items, you have a deal."

He sat back in his chair, and started to smile. He was already planning what he was going to do to the Aglinean peoples.

[The Democratic Republic of Davida]

Bert Janus smiled. His master will be pleased.

"We can do that" he said and took his brown leather bag of the floor, on the table and took out the Marshal's personal golden gun.

"But remember, your identity must remain secret during your work for us in Aglinean. But as soon as you start, we will hold up to our end of the agreement and make sure your reputation will not only be restored but we will also arrange for you to be globally recognized as the great leader and hero you really are."

[Stahn]

Meanwhile the Macedonians and Stahnese strike teams have crossed the Aglinean Alps, landed in Aglinean and boarded their land vehicles. There was little more than grasslands and woods between the mountains and the summer palace. The ground was firm, population was very thin so the raiders made excellent time. Every now and then they ran into Welgian patrols of trucks and armored cars but the Hexapoda's heavy machine guns and coleoptera's 40 mm autocannon could quickly deal with any forces they encountered.

It took only two hours before the got the summer palace in sight. As they closed in on the palace they could see that preparations were made for a Stahnese attack. But as there were a lot of self propelled SAMs around the building and not that many other forces (and thankfully no SPAAG's either) the Welgians were seemingly not prepared for this specific type of attack at all.

So even though they were heavily outnumbered the Macedonians and Stahnese forces engaged their enemies,guns blazing.

[Zorga]

Bert Janus smiled. His master will be pleased.

"We can do that" he said and took his brown leather bag of the floor, on the table and took out the Marshal's personal golden gun.

Then they will covertly get your men deep inside Aglinean where you can start fighting the real resistance and getting the Aglineans and the rest of Terra turned against the Stahnese by appearing to be fighting on their behalf."

Bert Janus:

Near the Aglinean prince Summer Palace
As the convoy was approaching the summer palace it stooped at around half a kilometer from it in order to offload the sniper teams that were selected. They took position at 3 sniper nests armed with silenced sniper rifles with high powered scopes. The plan to start thining out the numbers of Welgian troops around the palace while the rest of the forces took their positions.
"Sentinel lead this is 30. We have eyes on the palace. 10 mobile SAMs, around 200 troops. Some armored vehicles. We are ready to start picking up stranglers."
"Roger that 30. Activate your helmet visors. We go in all guns blazing as soon as the teams thin them out."
"only 200 welgians? This is so not fair boss."
"Cut the jokes 30. This is serious."
"3 guards on top of that tower. Marking mine. Guys take yours." The other 2 snipers marked their and then "Fire" all 3 Welgian troops fell on the ground of the tower where they were standing guard. The clock started ticking. The two stanenese teams took out targets in their sectors.
3 minutes later the IFV and APC of the convoy attacked the palace. As soon as the first shots went out the alert went out. The race to grab the prince was on.

Imperial Intelligence Service
The teams present there were dissecting the video of the interview with the Welgian prince. Then they heard the word "Line". Stoping frame by frame at the documents from the mashromian delegation they discovered the large amount of corruption present in the ranks of the Mashrom empire and its politicians. That was not surprising. They sent their finding upwards and were presented to the emperor and the security council.

An attempt was made to contact Gomtog and the Imperial team about the situation but it failed. The raid was still on.

[Welgium]

The diliathian diplomat replied:"I guess you're right. And exactly that Stahnese hordes brought me here. Our divine emperor has heard about your situation and decided that you couldneed friendship and help. The second one does of course follow after the first one, so wouldn't you tell and show me a bit about your nation?"

John Hancock smiled. "Nothing would please me more. I will start with a small summary of Welgian history. The map on the wall behind me depicts the Yeshuan Continent and all its states and provinces."

"Encircled in light blue are the current territories of The Kingdom of Welgium. Welgia Magna and Welgia Minor. 700 years after Christ our ancestors settled on Welgia Magna under the inspired leadership of king Welgianus the Magnificent. The only natives were a sub human, heathen species of hunter gatherers and farmers that didn't even know how to forge iron and had no appreciation of the riches in these lands.
As our people spread we brought them religion, civilization and law and order.

Eventually the Welgian Empire comprised of Welgia Magna, Welgia Minor, Aglinean, Valoer, Meratryl, Eglinay, Perantresse and Walun Grut.
All other territories were either independent states or, in the case of Ruhl and West Ruhl wild lands where hordes of barbarians were in perpetual war with each other.

But at the start of the previous century the natural order of things started to change.

The Ruhlian hordes came to an unholy alliance and directed their lust for violence and bloodshed to the civilized nations around them.
Over the course of the next decades the evil Ruhlian Empire spread out all over the continent until in 1930 all of Yeshua, with the exception of Welgia Magna, Welgia Minor, Varvar, Perlon, Davida and Porlan, were now part of the Ruhlian Empire.

Eventually the free nations of Yeshua managed to halt the advancing hordes. After a long and bloody conflict in the early 50's the Ruhlian hordes were finally defeated thanks to the use of nuclear devices.

The Welgian Empire was again united with the five kingdoms and, with the exception of Impovria, Rusta, Gardar and Ruhl, all other territories came part of The Democratic Republic of Davida.
To prevent the Ruhlians from ever rise again, the northern part of Ruhl was also annexed by Davida.
The rest of the Ruhlians were encouraged to only fight amongst themselves.

This worked out for a while until an evil warlord by the name of Gomhtog managed to once again unite the barbarians and forge an evil empire by the name of Stahn; The territories on the map encircled in red."

[Diliath]

"And those territories became Stahn, I see" said the delegate, impressed by the story. "Now I get why you were so feared by the Stahnese actions in Aglinenan. Now we understand why you took control of the city is it clear to us that we must help you. But then do i need to know or you're willing to accept our help and in which form. And of course what we'll get by helping you."

[Stahn]

Summer palace, Aglinean

While the snipers were busy keeping the heads down of the surviving Welgian soldiers, four of the infantry fighting vehicles with the remaining Stahnese and Macedonian on board drove towards the main enterance of the palace while the others drove around the building firing their heavy machine guns and auto cannon at any remaining Welgian soldier who still dared to show his face.

Right after a rocked propelled grenade destroyed the main door, the Macedonians and Stahnese rushed inside the building where the only Welgians that were still conscious raised their hands in surrender.

"Where is the prince?"demanded Gomhtog.
The Welgians looked at each other but no one dared to answer.
Gomhtog then grabbed the most senior officer amongst them by the collar, pushed the barrel of his carbine against his nose and repeated his question even louder.

The officer was in too much of a panic to speak but he pointed at a door of what appeared to be a pantry.
The old warlord let go of the officer and confidently walked towards it. First he knocked but getting no response he opened the door and saw two dead bodies laying on the floor. One female and one male, both of them shot in the head. Gomhtog saw that the prince was not one of hem as the prince had grey hair and the dead man was a brunette. He was about to ask again where the prince was as he noticed how the dead man was dressed. This dead body was wearing the prince's clothes.

Gomhtog flipped it over and saw that the face was covered in thick layers of make up in order to resemble Prince Benedict.

He grabbed the officer again by his collar and dragged him towards him. "Where is the real prince?" Gomhtog asked.

The officer was however in such a state of panic that he could only stutter unintelligible.

"It's a trap!" cursed Gomhtog. "Warn the others. We have to get out of here at once."

They ran back to their vehicles and warned their comrades. As they were preparing to leave they could hear the sound of helicopters approaching.

25 Welgian attack gyronefs appeared, firing their cannons and missiles at the summer palace, which was soon reduced to rubble.

The infantry fighting vehicles drove for cover into the woods opposite the direction from which they came but moments after they entered their front vehicle was hit by a heavy gun and was completely destroyed. It's crew of 3 and 8 Stahnese passengers instantly killed. It was a Welgian assault gun, well camouflaged and hidden behind a hedge. An anti tank missile of a Hexopoda took out the Welgian vehicle but soon they were under fire from all directions.

The woods were crawling with Welgians!

And while the Macedonians and Stahnese were in a desperate situation in the woods, the attack gyronefs strangely enough continued to fire at the palace.

Near the Prince's Palace
After the troops traveled for a while longer, they were to meet up with Stahnese forces to attack the palace. However, they waited for a while, and none of their comrades were in sight. This worried the commanders, especially Aleg, since they could not contact the men on the ground. Eventually, Aleg ordered his men to rush to the palace, after hearing booms and cracks in the distance. While they were moving towards the palace, Welgian aircraft flew overhead. The men fired at it, causing a few to smoke. Eventually, they arrived in the area. Welgian troops were everywhere, especially in the brush. Aleg immediately ordered his men to dismount, and quickly initiated a flanking maneuver.

Once the troops were in place, Aleg yelled: "CHARGE!", and the men quickly ran into the forest brush, attacking the Welgians from behind. The communist armored vehicles immediately fired on Welgian machine guns and large groups of troops. They also fired their large cannons at the treeline. Their plan was to rescue their allies, and retreat back to base. Aleg and his communists fight ferociously, taking no prisoners.

Somewhere in Aglinean
The plane landed at a makeshift airstrip in East Aglinean. Taylor and his men quickly unloaded the plane, and set up a camp. Taylor led a force of men, who would pose as Stahnese soldiers, and terrorize the Aglinean peoples. Or, thats what the Davidans wanted. The force, was made up of captured Zerran soldiers from the ZDF (Zerran Defense Force), who were all experts in espionage and extreme torture. Since Taylor was freed by the Davidans, he had to fill an obligation...but he wanted to do it his way. He hatched an evil plan, which would scar Aglinean for life.

While in prison in Davida, Taylor became so insane, he started to write down evil plans for genocide, torture, and mass murder...twice as cruel than the crimes he committed in Zerra. So, in slew of his ideas, he and his men start to construct a large camp to hold civilians and soldiers, in which they will be part of a genocide. Taylor plans for the camp to function for a few weeks, in hopes of the camp being discovered and overrun by the Welgians and partisan groups, in an effort to set-up Stahn to make it look like they have been committing a secret genocide on the Aglinean peoples. His plan would surely give the world a reason to fight against Stahn.

Currently, the camp is mostly complete, and some of his men have captured a good number of Aglinean people. They have already started their procedures for the genocide, and have started to rack up on dead bodies. The Zerran guards estimate the life expectancy of a prisoner is about 2 days. The guards enjoy the gruesome things they do, and enjoy inflicting excruciating pain and death upon their captured.

Welgian City
The Zorganese spy has recorded the newscast of the Prince's Fake Interview, and has sent it to the Zorganese and Stahnese Government. With the interview, he also recorded a message of himself, explaining the current situations in Welgium and talks about the interview. He continues surveillance on the royal family, and the Welgian capital.

As you all are probably aware of the Welgian government has come to the conclusion that war with the evil state of Stahn is unavoidable. We have decided that our efforts and recourses are much better spend on arranging for this war to start on our terms rather than continuing to try to appease the unappeasable.
We have had guarantees from the government of The Democratic Republic of Davida that if it would come to war between Welgium and Stahn, the Davidians would fight on our side. Truth be told, we have been working together with the Davidian officials in trying to provoke the Stahnese in going to war against us for a while now.

So far the Stahnese have not taken the bait however.

Some of you might wonder why we have not just simply gone to war against Stahn in the first place.

Well, the reason is rather plain and simple. Stahn has proven to have an undeservedly good international reputation. We have deemed it very likely that if Welgium and Davida started a war against Stahn, a large part of the international community would view us as the villains and could very well come to Stahn's aid.

With the secret support of some Impovrian wealthy as well as the Welgian and Davidian government, has managed to create a militia with the purpose of driving out the Stahnese occupiers and uniting Rusta with Impovria.

Your nations could offer Pat Jemtree your support and send forces to help him and his followers of achieving this goal.

I suspect that he international community would most likely be very sympathetic to this.
Once you have driven the Stahnese out of Rusta it would not be too difficult for you to install a regime in Rusta that would be very favorable to your nations. Should you be interested from there it wouldn't be very difficult at all to do the same with Impovria.

Your offer interests us. Acquisition of new territory is always valued, as are new friends. However, there's a spanner in the works. The NMK Government itself is legally bound by a treaty not to declare war or any such thing. To circumvent this, there is a front / shell corporation known as Mushroom Mercenary Services that has no publicly registered owner. It would be us who supplied non-military aid, but we'd have to fake a contract with MMS in order to have military aid occur. Normally we would not destabilize a stable environment, but where there is significant gain to be obtained, why not?
