The NMK Delegation is ready for the escort to see Prince Benedict.

[Welgium]

On television sets all over Terra the following could be seen:

"This is W.B.C. with a special live broadcast. This is your reporter Noordje Eerlich. I am currently at Equerantis Airport. It is a terrific noise as Welgian gyronefs are taking off to bring the Mushroomi delegation deep inside the Welgian province of Aglinean so that our most welcome visitors can personally inspect some of the Aglinean weapons of war."



After the two gyronefs carrying the Mushroomi delegation took off Eerlich and her news team boarded the third gyronef and followed the others to the Aglinean location.

After landing at the site Eerlich continued:

"Right in front of is the Aglinean building guarded by our brave troops. We will now enter and soon the world can see how the corrupt prince Benedict broke the treaty and almost brought war to the people of Welgium."



An officer showed them to way to a stairway leading to the cellars as they stepped down they could see several bluish grey armored vehicles. Four Shadhahvar 1's, six Monocerus's and one Caleuche 40 mm Bofors.



Eerlich:

"And there it is, ladies and gentlemen, for the world to see. Terrible weapons of war the Aglineans were never supposed to have."

She pointed her microphone to the Welgian officer standing by.

"What will now happen to these machines of death?" she asked.

The officer answered:

"Soon some trucks will arrive and they will take these death machines back to Stahn, where they came from. Not even those baby eaters could deny this evidence as we show it to their ugly red skinned faces."

The forces and nature of this Republic, acting in accordance with the philosophy of the Coalition of Sovereign Nations, commends and denotes respect to the fellow nations of Stahn, Welgium, and Davida. Despite the vast distant that may separate the Republic from the Yeshuan Continent, recent affairs in your respective lands has garnered world-wide attention. Tensions and fears remain high on all sides and yet conflict need not commence.

In an effort to establish closer ties with the belligerent parties of this possible crisis, the Republic humbly offers it services as a "middle-ground-man" between the involved sides and would like permission to send a single military and civil attaché, and accompanying guard and administrative contingent, to each of the addressed nations. More than anything else, this Republic supports every nation's Rights of Self-Governing above all else and both sides in this possible conflict have shown their inclination to agree.

With this hope in mind, we of the Foreign Relations Department of the Republic extended our sincerest and warmest regards and fondest wishes that this potential crisis may be averted before further bloodshed comes to pass.

One of the Mushroomi Delegation first said 'Y'know corruption isn't necessarily a bad thing right? In the NMK, we don't see it as a bad thing that much.'
Another member of the delegation looked at the tanks and said 'This seems certainly antique hardware. Given that, I doubt it'd make decent offensive hardware. What nation would give out antique hardware to aid someone in a war when giving modern hardware would be just as easy?'
Every member of the delegation nodded at this statement.
The first member then rose again and said 'I believe firmly that every nation has the right to self-defence. If a treaty prohibits a nation from doing so, I believe that the nation should at least be prepared to handle invasions, no matter if it's in violation. With that said, shall we move on?'

[Welgium]

The Mushroomi sound a lot like Davidians Eerlich thought.

She could tell from the expression on the faces of the delegates that they were not that impressed by this evidence as she hoped. Cleverly she gave a subtle signal to her cameraman so that the Mushromi comments would not be broadcast.

"If it is okay with you we will visit Prince Benedict in his summer palace now. It has also been arranged that rooms are ready for all NMK delegates and the news team members so we can stay there over night. It is getting late after all.

After your interview with the fallen prince dinner will be served. All arrangements have been made for you to contact your nation and keep your governments and friends and family informed."

The Welgian officer, NMS delegates and news team members went outside to board the gyronefs. Before they boarded Eerlich addressed the deligate again.

"You know that old as those vehicles may be, those types are all still in use by the Stahnese. Sometimes even in their original configuration like the ones you have just seen."

[New Mushroom Kingdom]

The delegates were looking forward to finally meeting the Prince. The comment about the type still being in use didn't change anything - everyone knows sometimes replacing old gear with new gear is an uneconomical waste of money if the situation doesn't call for it. With that said and done, they proceeded to slowly board the gryonefs,

[Welgium]

Again the gyronefs took off. Flying over Aglinean the passengers and the viewers back home could see Welgian troops and vehicles all over the nation.

As they got closer to the Stahnese border the concentration of Welgian forces seemed to be much lighter.

It didn't take long for the gyronefs to reach the palace. After a smooth landing the passengers stepped out and were welcomed by two guards. The delegates and the news team went inside and were shown the room were the prince would be in.

The room was rather dark as the curtains were closed and only a few candles were lit.

A man was sitting behind a desk. Distinguished looking, close to 90 years old but still seemingly very healthy and well kept. In one hand he held a cigarette and in the other a glass of red wine.

"Welcome to my summer palace" the man said. "I understand you have some questions for me?"

The first delegate said 'That we do, Your...uh i'm not sure what to say for this.'
'Our first question: Exactly what grounds do they have for the invasion and house arrest? They said corruption and working with dictatorships, We would like to know exactly what/how much corruption, exactly which dictatorships you have supposedly been working with.'
'After you have answered that we have another question: How is having gone from being a Head of State to a prisoner in your own home? Is everything all right?'
'Finally, our last question: Do you have an opinion of the New Mushroom Kingdom? If so, what is it?'

[Stahn]

Sergeant Tweet didn't find it difficult at all to cross the Aglinean/Stahnese border. The Welgians clearly made no effort to stop Aglinean refugees from seeking refuge in Stahn or the Stahnese to smuggle arms and other aid to members of the Aglinean resistance.

And why would they Tweet thought to himself. The more Aglineans leave the more land and other property can be taken by Welgian nobility. And any aid the Stahnese would send could be used as an excuse to start the war Tweet knew full well the Welgians wanted more than anything.

Finding the cave that was used by the Aglinean People's Liberation Army proved a lot more difficult.

But Tweet was a most exceptional warrior. By asking around and looking for tracks it only took him a few hours to find what he was looking for.

Deep inside the woods he saw two partisans practicing with bow and arrow.

Hello there Tweet shouted. I am sergeant Tweet. I am send by Grand Marshal Iegres Vonotirahk, the leader of Stahn, to help you in your cause and also to bring you this gift.

Tweet took his backpack off and held it high with his right hand so the partisans could see it from a distance.

The bag was full of diamonds with a combined value of 25 million Garnachs.

[Welgium]

After taking a drag of his cigarette and a sip of his wine the delegate's questions were answered.

"Let me start by answering your last question first. The New Mushroom Kingdom reminds me a lot of Stahn and Davida. Like the Stahnese you people seem tobe brutally honest about your wants, desires and intentions even do this might shock or offend others. Like the Davidians you seem to know how to get things your way by very clever ploys and making use of the weaknesses of your enemies.

With all the deceptions, trickery and false compliments I have been exposed to as Prince of Aglinean I find such an attitude most refreshing."

Another sip of wine was taken.

"I must honestly say that I have been treated very well by the Welgians. I have been met by every courtesy a monarch may expect. In all truthfulness I have nothing but good words on how I have been treated.

As for grounds for the invasion and house arrest you should probably be better off asking the Welgians but it probably has to do with the army I was raising with the help of the Stahnese. Warlord Gomhtog and later Grand Marshal Iegres Vonotirahk forced me to it however. They threatened to destroy Aglinean and its people if I would not work with them by raising an army to help them conquer West Welgium.

I was a fool not to go to the Welgians for help but the Stahnese are such fearsome creatures. At the time I thought that what I was doing was for the best of my loyal subjects but now I have seen the might and kindness of the Welgians I also see the error of my ways."

The news team were transmitting every word that was being said. This interview could not have gone better Eerlich thought to herself.

She wondered what the Mushroomi delegates would ask next.

All the delegates nodded interestingly. One knocked over a briefcase, opening it. The contained documents spilled ontl the floor. Unluckily for the delegate, the documents were about the NMK's internal corruption. Not only were the bribes made by the delegates described, it also documented numerous bribes between government officials - mostly lower level ones, but some mid-to-high leveled staff also appeared. Every delegate was shocked at this breach of confidentiality.

Allthe Yeshuan nations answer the letter by saying that the offer of acting as a "middle-ground-man" is deeply appreciated and would welcome the attachés.

(OOC: I hope you understand me not logging in and out to answer this letter with all of my five nations)

Meanwhile the armored fighting vehicles and weapons were loaded on trucks to be transported to Stahn.

[Zorga]

APLA Woods
The two partisans were startled by the man's loud voice. One jumped, while the other swerved around and started to aim his weapon. However, upon hearing the Sgt. explain his purpose, the two men immediately ran over, and introduced themselves. Then, they escorted him into the cave. It was lit by various lights, and full of men. However, the men were gearing up for a fight. Eventually, he met with Aleg and his commanders. They greeted the Sgt and told them about their organization and their goals, and told him how this force came to be. He accepted the generous gift from Stahn, and invited the Sgt to come fight alongside them.

Upon hearing that the Welgians loaded up the Aglinean weapons onto a truck convoy for Stahn from informants, the APLA finally got their chance. Men loaded up their gear, and armed themselves with their weapons. About 100 partisans lined up on both sides of the wooded road near the boarder, waiting for the Welgians to arrive. After a good 30 minutes, a scout came running down the side of the road to report his findings. The convoy was coming. Soon the scene was set. They blocked the road with a tree, with 3 partisans posed as lumberjacks. As the convoy neared, the troops stayed down, and hid in the dense brush. When the convoy stopped, some Welgian troops disembarked, and walked over the the men. They questioned the "lumberjacks" why they blocked the road with the tree. After talking for a minute, the most of the Welgian troops walked over to help move the tree. However, once in a large group, the partisans on both sides rushed out, and surrounded the troops and convoy without any resistance. The Welgians were very surprised and felt very duped. After they were rounded up, the partisans took control of the convoy and traveled to "The Cave" where the HQ was at. When they arrived, the rest of the troops let out a huge cheer. Aleg and the Stahnese soldier shook hands, and congratulated each other for their victory of the Welgians, and shared a bottle of beer, symbolizing their friendship and establishing a makeshift alliance. After a small celebration, the troops relaxed, while the ALPA commanders said their goodbyes to the Stahnese representative.

The next day, word had spread throughout the low country about the partisan victory, which encouraged a lot of people to join. Soon, men started to arrive by the hundreds, to sign up to fight the enemy. As the troops arrived and got settled, they started to construct a large defensive perimeter surrounding the cave's entrance. Trenches and foxholes were dug, while booby traps were set up and constructed. The captured armored vehicles were unloaded, and were set up in defensive tank dugouts. However, these dugouts allowed the armored vehicles to be easily moved in and out, providing a good a defensive/offensive role switch. Vehicle training began immediately, with small crews being trained by the commanders, who were the only people who knew how to drive them (due to their previous army services). The partisans also started to interrogate the prisoners about Welgian forces in Aglinean.

Even with the victory at the Battle of The Covoy, the partisans still had a long way to go. They still had to liberate nearby villages, eliminate Welgian troops in the region, disrupt supply flow, disable communications, and win battles against the Welgians. This came to the attention of Aleg, who immediately gathered his commanders, and started to plan for future operations. While they were doing this, they sent a telegram to Zorga and Stahn;

Subject: 1st Victory!

Attention allied Stahn,

We have captured the Aglinean military supplies on a convoy. It seems the rumors were true, however, the Welgian oppressors are still wrongfully occupying our nation, and we will do anything to drive the enemy aggressors out of our beloved homeland. Thank you for the generous gift. We understand your reasoning about not giving us arms, as it may draw attention to your nation, but with this gift, we will spend it wisely for arms and provisions for our brave partisans, fighting against these evil imperialists! Long live Stahn, and the APLA!

Upon hearing the news about the Welgian report, the commissar ordered his cabinet to meet. They, again, discussed recent developments on the continent and in Aglinean. After some debate, they agreed upon sending a lot of aid to the continent, including building materials for refugee camps, and a lot of extra rations to help aid those displaced civilians. They also sent a ship full of military supplies, such as weapons, vehicles, parts, food, medicine, clothing, and other military supplies. Also on board, is a small group of 20 soldiers, sent to aid the APLA and to help guide them to a communist victory in Aglinean.

Welgian Capital
After the spy arrived, he established a surveillance network near the palace. He monitored the palace, and daily recorded information and clandestinely reported these reports back to Zorgad (Zorganese Capital). The information was of no real importance, however, if the spy had the opportunity, he would attempt to assassinate the Queen and any other important military leader.

[New Mushroom Kingdom]

After recovering from the embarrassment, the 3rd delegate said "So, what exactly where your plans for this army that you were being forced to raise?'

[Welgium]

As Eerlich helped the Mushroomi delegates picking up the documents she got a rough idea of its contents. Annoyingly the camera most likely recorded some of it as well.
The viewers at home probably couldn't read much of it since the room was rather dark but if someone would freeze frame a video recording the NMK would not have the credibility the Welgians would have liked.

On the other hand this new found information on this nation could come in handy at a later date as well.

In the meanwhile the questions of the 3rd delegate were answered.

"To assist the Stahnese barbarians in attacking and conquering West Welgium, I'm afraid. During his stay in Aglinean after his trial, the evil warlord Gomhtog was very clear in what he expected of me. As soon as we had raised the equivalent of 5 armored and 12 mechanized divisions the Aglineans and Stahnese would attack. At the time of the Welgian liberation of Aglinean this was pretty much achieved. As a matter of fact, I was just taking orders from the Stahnese head of state, Grand Marshal Iegres Vonotirahk, on the telephone regarding the planned attack when the Welgians took Aglinean City and took me prisoner."

[Stahn]

Gomhtog was in his room at the Cute Bunny Inn listening to the Welgian broadcast of the interview of the Aglinean Prince. The former ruler of Stahn has not been this furious for a very long long time.

Full of rage he paced around the room while screaming at the radio set, throwing furniture across the room and smashing his fists on the walls.

When the Warlord heard the last statement something really snapped. He stopped pacing and picked up the phone that was laying on the floor and called Grand Marshal Iegres Vonotirahk.

Vonotirahk who was listening to the news item as well knew at once that it was Gomhtog calling.

"So, you are listening to this as well."was the first thing the Grand Marshal said when he picked up the horn.

Gomhtog was brief in his reply: "The prince must be brought to Stahnese justice at once."

Vonotirahk was not nearly as upset as Gomhtog and tried to calm him down. "Was it not you who said only earlier today to never do what your enemies suspect of you? You know the Welgians are expecting us to take action. They will only use it to prove their claims."

Gomhtog:"I also said not to sit and wait like a passive waste while your enemies are acting against you."

Vonotirahk:"I won't be doing that either. I will be releasing a press statement in which I will formally deny these outrageous claims and..."

Gomhtog did not let him finish. "This is why you will forever be known as Iegres the Weak. As far as I am concerned the time for words are over." Gomhtog hung up the phone and without packing or paying the inn keeper left the inn and drove towards the Aglinean border.

While driving he called the Hyena Hotel to contact the Macedonian engineers for while being in his car he had no means of contacting the Macedonian authorities directly.

When he got one on the line Gomhtog told him what his plan was:

"Right now I am driving to Teeth Grinders Military Base. There is a special airborne assault unit stationed who are equipped with skycranes and light armored vehicles. In a few hours I will lead the unit to prince Benedic's summer palace where we will take the prince from his Welgian jailers and bring him back to Stahn. If you are able inform your leaders of my plan and tell them that if they would like to send some warriors to help me with this mission they should bring their warriors to the military base which is located next to the town of Endstahn on location alpha, alpha 3.1.

I will wait for them for 6 hours. After that the mission will begin. With or without our Macedonian friends."

[Macedonian Grand Empire]

Hyena hotel Gomhtoggrad
The meeting was in full swing as the engineers and officers were reviewing protocol, checking contingency plans and the like when the broadcast started. They listened to it and branislav commented on it: "This is not going to end up good. I can already see war on the horizon. We need to be ready to evacuate to safer territories at a moments notice."
He turned to the room: "Listen up people. War is probably on the Horizon. We need to be ready to evacuate at a moments notice. As such in case of an evacuation we completely destroy the machinery that is bellow ground. Burn as much paper as possible and take every pc and lap top we have. Remember they do not know the nature of this project. Lets not let them find out."
Then his phone rang. After listening to Gomhtog he excused himself and went to his office. Pulling out his satelite phone he contacted rear admiral Roberts on the HIMS Steadfast
Branislav: Rear admiral, I talked to Gomhtog and he said he is planing an attack to rescue the prince. Now he asked for our help. This is as best i can do.The rest is up to you.
He closed the up link and went back to the hotel conference room

HIMS Steadfast
rear admiral Roberts: Coms, secure line to Kristijanopolis and the high command.
Coms: Yes sir. 1 minute latter "Rear admiral you are online with Grand Admiral Antoniev.
Rear admiral: Sir, Gomhtog wants to launch a raid to rescue the prince from captivity. He asked for our help. I know we have 3 teams of sentinels on board,but i need to know should i send them in. Can you ask the Emperor on what is the next move in such a case?
Grand Admiral: Send them in. The emperor knows that war in unavoidable. He will understand the move.
Rear admiral:Yes sir. Steadfast over and out.
30 minutes latter the 3 teams went on their helicopters and towards alpha, alpha 3.1.

[New Mushroom Kingdom]

The NMK Delegates briefly pondered what question to ask next, before deciding upon one: 'Why did you use the antiquated, outdated military hardware we saw rather than more powerful modern hardware?'

[Welgium]

Things were going really well thought Eerlich. But then, everything was ruined.
By a single word.

The response to the last question of the Mushroomi delegation.

"Line?"

Eerlich couldn't believe how that man could be so stupid.

"Cut" she screamed at her news team who then immediately stopped recording.

"My line please" the man continued, seemingly oblivious to the huge mistake he just made.

"You blundering idiot!" Eerlich screamed at him.

Deeply insulted the man responded:
"I'm the idiot? We didn't cover this in rehearsal. How would I know how the prince would have answered that question? If anyone is to blame it is you. You are supposed to be the producer of this farce!"

Then he looked at the Mushroomi delegates and the stunned face of Eerlich and her news team and started to somewhat realize the severity of the situation and the magnitude of his error.

Unwilling to admit his mistake or make an appology he threw a fit.

"This is a stupid part anyway! My largest audience ever and the room is so badly lid and me covered in so much make up that no one is even going to know it is me!"

He took of his wig and threw it to the ground then stood up behind his desk and was heading out of the room.
But as he opened the door a Welgian colonel stood in his way.

"Step out of the way" demanded the imposter of the prince. "I have had it with this gig. I am going home."

Calmly the colonel responded.
"That won't be happening."
Rather gently he pushed the failed actor back into the room. Four Welgian soldiers walked in behind the officer.

Then the colonel adresses Eerlich:

"Seems like your plan just fall flat on its face, miss Eerlich. The Queen will not be pleased."

"She'll have my head for this" the stunned Eerlich responded.

"Only if you allow her the privilege" the colonel answered, as he took his pistol from its holster and offered it to Eerlich.
"Perhaps you would like to take matters in your own hand instead?"

Eerlich hesitated for a moment but then took the gun. She looked at the imposter of the prince and could see that by now he was fully aware of what trouble he was in.
Despite of the situation she smiled an evil smile at him.
"I'll see you soon, fake prince. I'll see you in hell."

Eerlich put the barrel of the gun in her mouth and pulled the trigger.
Her lifeless corps fell against the window and as her body slided against it to the floor the curtains gut stuck on a button of her jacket and were pulled from the railing.
As Eerlichs lay flat on the floor the curtains covered her just like someone deliberately put them over her.

The colonel smiled at the coincidence and then smiled even more when he thought of what he was about to say.

He took his pistol from the cold dead hand of Eerlich and looked at the failed actor.

"I am sorry" said the colonel. " but the play has ended. As you can see; the curtains have dropped."

"No, wait..." pleaded the fake prince.

"Show's over" lauched the colonel. "Exit stage left"
The colonel shot the actor through his head and then looked at the Mushroomi delegates.

"Now... What to do about you?" he wondered out loud.

[New Mushroom Kingdom]

The thoughts of each delegate consisted of 2 words: 'Oh shit.' They glared at each other confused and then said in unison ''Fuck.' They were all scared, wondering what would happen next. Especially considering that the broadcast was getting relayed fo the NMK.

[Welgium]

The colonel could see that the Mushroomi delegates were scared.
The surviving news team members didn't look too comfortable either.
The colonel himself had not a worry in the world. It was not his plan that failed and the backup plan he was in charge of was a superiour option anyway he thought.

He ordered the soldiers and news team members to dispose of the bodies of the impersonator and Eerlich.

When he was alone in the room with the delegates he tried to reassure them.

In so many words he said that if the delegates remained silent about what happened after the broadcast was stopped, his soldiers wouldn't take those incriminating documents from them and make their contents known to the whole of Terra.

[New Mushroom Kingdom]

The delegates wondered how they were incriminating - it's not as if people know that the NMK isn't corrupt. However, they had no other option. They accepted the deal.

[Stahn]

Teeth Grinders Military Base near the town of Endstahn.

The Macedonian teams have just arrived. Gomhtog is explaining his plan to the Macedonian Sentinels and Stahnese warriors.

"Ladies and gentlemen. We are about to raid the summer palace of Prince Benedict who is held captive by the Welgians and has somehow been forced to make false statements about Stahnese oppression and blackmail of the Aglinean people and their head of state.

I have no idea how they got the prince to make these statements and with such apparent enthusiasm but I have decided that we, the Stahnese people can no longer stay passive. We must act before these lies bring the whole of Terra up in arms against the glorious Stahnese nation.

I have asked for help from our Macedonian friends not only because of their brave warriors but also because The Macedonian Grand Empire is globally well respected and with them present during our mission they can testify that the Stahnese people have not done anything we would otherwise very likely be accused of.

As you know the Welgians have a large and powerful airforce. The smartest among you will also be aware that it is very likely that the Welgians are expecting us. They have most likely based strong anti air units in he vicinity of the castle and most likely have strong ground forces directly between the castle and the Stahnese border as well.

But if knowing this makes you think that we are about to embark on a suicide mission, you are very much mistaken.

16 helicopters are ready for take off. 8 of them will carry the warriors and the other 8 will carry 4 hexopodas, armed with two 14.5mm heavy machine guns and two anti tank rocket launchers and 4 coleopteras, armed with a 40 mm bofors cannon and a 7.5. light machinegun.

The helicopters will fly between the mountain tops of the Aglinean Alps in order to avoid detection form radar and at the end of the Alps will land so that you warriors can board the hexopodas and coleopteras which we will use to take the 2 hour drive from there to the castle, deal with any Welgian military presence and capture, I mean liberate the prince and take him back to Stahn.

I am sorry but I don't have time for questions right now. I will board the same helicopter as your commanders so that we can discuss the mission further while underway.

And so the Macedonians and Stahnese boarded the helicopters which soon took of and headed to Aglinean.

Aglinean
After the APLA finished their partying, they recollected themselves, and continued to train. More men now had guns, and had various vehicles in their inventory. It was a happy time for the APLA. However, something was troubling the commanders, especially Aleg. He has been receiving reports from some informants that another partisan group has formed in another part of Aglinean. The partisan group was called the Aglinean Liberation Force, led by a young Aglinean national. The force had formed at about the same time they did, only they are led by Aglinean fighting for true independence, striving for liberation against the Welgians, and opposing communism. They are well armed, recently raiding a stockade of Davidan-made battle rifles. The informants also stated that they have a large amount of man power and support, more than the communists, which gravely worried Aleg. However, his thoughts were interrupted buy a large sound. He looked in the sky, and recognized the planes and helicopters in the sky. They were Stahnese. Upon seeing that, he gathered his troops. He was going to attack the palace, and kidnap the prince. It was a ways away, so they got themselves organized, and loaded up onto their vehicles. Then they headed out, to capture the prince.

Zorga
Meanwhile in Zorga, satellite images have appeared, showing the Stahnese/Macedonian aircraft. Soon, Zorga secretly loads up, and sends about 20,000 troops to Stahn. He see that the talking has failed, and the battlefield will decide who is right. The troops and their equipment are due to arrive in a few days.
