And its generally your choice what your nations explorers do, but remember while they are underdeveloped they know a thing or tow about the outside world. (but not idiots )

Well, if they know nothing about idiots, than idiots shall be my explorers.

However to be serious I will probably find a way to work in my nations insatiable hunger for uranium or its need for strategic bases to defend against its southern neighbor and the possibility of it attacking.

just remember no big wars of conquest here (a little fighting is somewhat accepted but not encouraged as there are plenty of other options that don't require violence, I.E bribery, negotiation, assassination, illegal land grabs, and what not.)

Capisarian Myrobia - a startup long distance member state of the great Socialist Republic. The newest in the republic, it has as of yet to be inducted into the Congress of Capisaria, with its settlers still considered to be living in their previous second level jurisdiction. On the outskirts of the Myrobian heartland, the settlement hopes to expand and serve as a beachead for socialism, in a bid to spare them from the horrors of the capitalist economy.

Charles "Trip" Hutchinson, Secretary for the Socialist Party of Capisarian Myrobia, has ordered several detachments of the People's Unified Military out into the country to seek contact with anyone who will talk to them.

How's that for a sample?

I would think that you would send explorers first to scout out and negotiate such a claim with the locals and then maybe send in a small detachment of troops and gather a colonial militia before sending them gallivanting across the land.

(I'm trying to lean away from military getting involved as much as possible, I'm currently putting the finishing touches on the exploration RP for people to set up in and around Myrobia.)
