Cleventon Invasion of Southern Cleventon[IC,MT,Invite Only]

Postby Cleventon » Thu Oct 23, 2014 8:36 pm

It was just about sunset, the sun slipped beyond the mountains across the DMZ in Southern Cleventon as Major Keith Birdman had his Snow Legion of 1,500 troops prepared to cross. The tanks would move first, as soon as the first wave of bombers soared overhead. Chief Alexandra was next to him, he nodded to her, his face painted in camouflage, and he and every other Cleventonian stormtrooper were dressed in a dark green and black camo pattern. Field Marshal Moore was on the radio, he confirmed all Cleventonian troops were ready, then had his signal corps begin radioing all foreign forces, "This is Signal Corps of Cleventonian Mobile HQ, we are now confirming the forces of Santiago II, Armanischa's First and Third North Mountain Divisions.

Meanwhile, the Suurta-Osavaltio air forces were taking off as the first wave of Cleventonian bomber groups flanked by the new Demon Stealth Fighters amounted too 600 aircraft in the first wave. They soared over the DMZ, and all forces were now given the green light to cross. Major Birdman's troops engaged Southern Cleventonian border guards almost immediately, "Stay with your officers!" Birdman shouted as bloodthirsty stormtroopers clashed with the border troops viciously and in melee. Birdman fired a round into the head of a Southerner spattering blood onto his face, then moving on. the 73rd Armored Infantry were also moving, engaging the enemy lightly, the regular troops under Colonel Natasha Celsius were making progress and routed the border troops on their end. Meanwhile the first town was in sight, and the bomber groups expierenced flack and enemy fighters, they were taking losses but the bombs were falling. In total, an estimated 2.4 million Cleventonians and allies were pouring into Southern Cleventon.

"God damn it!" General Secretary Collins said as he was guided to his bunker by guards and ministers while bombs were being dropped all over the capital. "They caught us I knew it!" he shouted as a bomber soared passed the window on fire and crashing into a neighborhood. At the border 30,000 Soldiers and 4,000 tanks do battle with the invasion force, luckily trenches were dug but the AA batteries were brought up late, allowing the air forces to get a head start.

In one skirmish, a young communist Christian spots a girl along with several Cleventonians, he begins rushing at her but is killed for foolishly running into the open. But a squad of 6 troops set up a machine gun nest, with a gun they recovered from a fallen comrade and set up a position and open fire on the incoming stormtroopers. Anti-Tank is fired, and it strikes one tank destroying it. However, most of the frontline is to pull back and meet with 50,000 reinforcements headed to the front.

General Reko Kulmala stood firm, despite the heavy gunfire not too far away. On his left stood General Koit Kalju, and on his right, Major Miina Karjalainen. Before them was a group of officers representing the First and Third Northern Mountain Divisions of the Holy Empire of Armanischa. General Kulmala spoke loudly and clearly, and missed no words. "This is a new day for the people south of here. They have never heard of our military power, but that will change. We are the most storied legions in the entire Empire, and that legacy will not die on this foreign ground. Our Mustakarhu teams will move around the main battle area," he pointed at the map on his strategy board," in order to get behind the enemy. The main area of battle will likely be a killing field for the next few hours, and it is likely that the enemy will be focused here. My subordinates are going to move our forces across the DMZ at the most isolated location, hopefully surprising weaker defenses there."

General Kalju stepped forward, knowing that it was his time to speak. "General Kulmala and I will be with you, in the Mustakarhu teams. Once we are behind the enemy line, we will move town by town. We will not fight the large scale war, but rather we will win the smaller battles. Our allies started this war, and finishing it is their responsibility. Pikk valitsemisaeg Dracul XII."

Twenty minutes later, thirty men and women, all camouflaged in the darkest black, blending in like ghosts in the night, crossed the border into Southern Cleventon. They moved quietly amongst the sparse vegetation, the war only one mile away. Generals Kulmala and Karju lead from the front, their KVV assault rifles ready for the enemy. As they walked, the sounds of the war became more distant. Eventually, they reached a Southern Cleventonian town. General Karju turned around, using hand signals to quietly order the teams. General Kulmala did the same. The ultra silent force of Armanischa's best soldiers went house by house, looking into the windows of sleeping families. The men fixed silencers to their rifles, making sure that every house in the small village was in sight. There were only around twelve houses, so it was simple to post men behind every home. General Karju then fired several rounds from his unsilenced pistol into the air, hoping to scare the inhabitants out.

When the people started to pour from their homes, the silent clicking of automatic gunfire began, felling the villagers. The people who hadn't left their houses first stayed inside upon seeing what was happening. Those who tried to escape out the back were killed as well. General Karju ordered the villagers to all stand before him, and he noticed that there were few able bodied individuals left. In total, there were around thirty people. General Kulmala stood in front of the group, a pistol in hand. "Today, a war has begun. Your people have been a nuisance to one of our allies, so we agreed to help them clean up." He began to walk down the row of people, looking each in the eyes. He ordered some of them to step forward from the group. These people were ordered to lay face down in the dirt. There were thirteen of them. The rest of the villagers were mowed down by the Mustakarhu soldiers. General Kulmala ordered the living to stand, pointing towards the DMZ. "You will run to that place, and you will fight. Not for your communist leaders, but for the Federation, for it was their ally that allowed you to live today."

Suurta-Osavaltian Girdinjoavku gunships began to reach their targets, raining hellfire down onto the Southern Cleventonian positions. The tactic of shock and awe was definitely employed by the air force. As the massive KA-225 planes fired their shells down on the infantry and tank positions, the KA-18A fighters began strafing runs. Along with the chaos being caused by the 225's, the KA-130J lighter gunships began to fire shells at anti-aircraft positions, which were still being set up. The planes followed the enemy forces as they retreated, tearing at the earth with both machine gun fire and artillery shells. Corporal Seppälä flew his KA-18A lower than the rest, devastating enemy positions with both machine gun fire and rockets, but he was surprised to hear a warning go off in his cockpit. He was being tracked by a SAM. He tried to evade, but it was too late, and his plane was hit in the tail. He ejected just as the plane began to break apart, and was shot in the air multiple times by heavy machine gun fire coming down from his own gunship. All-out war was a reality for the Osavaltians once again.

Ivan came out of his tent to find his 300,000 standing in line. The only sound was the war drums. "Men we have been sent here by God himself to liberate these catholics! We must act quickly and accordingly to secure the best possible future for these Christians! " Ivan stood down from his platform "aroo, aroo, aroo" could be heard all around the camp.

Ivan was in his command room looking over a map of the territory. "Let the others sacrifice there troops first. But keep the artillery firing, fire gas at the trenches. Then let's throw all our force at the left side of there trenches. "

The windmillan artillery kept firing as the army prepared there assault.

Santiagan troops, numbering 100,000, charged across their section of the border, relentlessly. They hoped to overwhelm the Southern forces. The battle was a bloodbath.

Charging across no-man's-land, the Milites Christi had themselves in deep trouble. They, however, were supported by M270 "steel rain". The steel rain destroyed enemy positions and the Santiagan troops jumped into the Southern trenchs, bayonets ready.

General Patrick Harris was pleased with his troops overrunning the enemy positions. The Santiagans charged, facing bullets, and knives, and rockets. Yet they still charged. The steel rain was destroying the enemy positions, and the Southerners were nearly routed. The Southerners couldn't hold onto their positions for much longer.

"For Christ!" one Santiagan shouted. "Charge!", others yelled. Sergeant Major Henry Trace stabbed one Southerner to death, blood spraying onto his uniform. The Sergeant Major ruthlessly shot two more of the bastards before throwing a grenade and killing five.

More troops poured into the enemy trenches.

T'was dark those early hours of invasion, but as Major Birdman watched the last withdrawing commie disappear on the horizon he ordered troops to mount up. He looked around, worried Alexandra may have been killed in the intense close combat, but there she was, helping a medic get a wounded trooper onto a stretcher. Birdman was pleased to see her alive but then brought his mind back to the fight, they were ordered to take a mountain town with known Federation sympathizers. After everyone had embarked onto the convoy, and the tanks had already began their advance the Snow Legion convoy followed behind closely, experiencing some light artillery that stopped after an air strike. The Snow Legion pushed on, closing in on the mountain town.

The Mustakarhu elites continued deeper into the Southern Cleventonian nation, clearing villages. Many villagers surrendered to the men, so Generals Karju and Kulmala pardoned them. The ones who resisted were shot. It had been a very long time since they'd seen a village, but there were signs of life ahead. General Karju ordered the men forward towards the encampment, only to find it was held by the South. There were Southern troops there, seemingly waiting for the war to reach them. General Kulmala grinned, estimating around 200 men in the camp. It was time for the Ghost Division to haunt once again. He nodded to Major Karjalainen, who led fifteen of the thirty men to the left, with General Kulmala leading his fifteen right. With silencers fixed to their weapons, the men began to slowly pick off Southern troops one by one, making sure not to cause a stir. They started with the ones on the outside, then moved in. General Karju entered a barracks-like building, and as was typical for the deep night, he found at least twenty men sleeping. With his silenced pistol, he ended those men.

General Karju was about to leave the barracks when he heard unsilenced gunfire erupt. He knew immediately that the Southern troops were fighting back. He ran to the position where he'd told several of his men to wait, finding them there. "The Southerners are fighting back. We must suppress them from behind." The men went to secure a position behind the Southern troops, but General Kulmala came in on the radio. "Koit, we are leaving this encampment. Now." Karju sighed, nodding. He and his men started to fall back into the trees, fading into the night like ghosts. They met with General Kulmala's men about three kilometres from the Southern camp. "We were not followed, I know it for sure. They lost many men, and will be tending to that. I have contacted the Osavaltian air forces. It is likely that this position will be completely destroyed, and soon." Major Karjalainen came forward, blood on her uniform. "They are not the only ones who lost men. Corporal Kekkonen is dead, and Lieutenant Lehtonen will soon be. We need to do something about their bodies." General Kulmala nodded, taking his spade from his combat pack. "Men, let us dig their graves for a proper funeral."

"Um, we have an issue sir." Said a young lieutenant too General Vectorian. "What is it?" he responded ferociously, sweating as he was trying to rally the defense for the unprepared country. "Uhm...Collins shot himself."

The room was astonished, and General Vectorian knew that now that the dictator was gone they could begin reformation and end communism. "Ok, send word across the front, were stopping this madness now. Send a message to enemy forces, ask for a cease-fire." he ordered. Across the front the Southern Army began waving white flags in order and sending the message across to the enemy, trying to tell them the news and hoping it would bring about the end of the war.

The Mustakarhu elites began to pull back to the border, making good time to get there. They moved fast and quietly. They passed by several towns on their way back, all of which seemed dead and empty. They had done their jobs well. Once they reached the border again, Generals Karju and Kulmala began to contact the rest of the Mountain Divisions. The men on the front reported seeing enemy troops flying white flags. General Kulmala ordered the First and Third NMD's to fall back to the DMZ to await further instruction.

Meanwhile, Alexandra Ceausescu was surprised when she saw the white flags flying over the mountain town. She searched for Major Birdman, eventually finding him. "Major Birdman, it seems as though the South is preparing a surrender. I expected to win this fight, but not so quickly. Maybe we shouldn't trust it."

Birdman analyzed the situation, then movement began, it was civilians, some injured from the bombing campaign he was sure. They were all surrendering and he ordered troops to deal with them, get them their belongings and put them on a truck too the DMZ in order to get them medical tests and the like. "I don't know Chief, this is strange." he said. One of the police officers in the crowd surrendering then told them Collins committed suicide, but that loyalists were still at large and too beware. "That's our new mission then, root these guys out. Radio Moore, tell him what is happening." Birdman said. "He radioed us sir, just got off the horn with him. Told us exactly what this man told us. Southern Army is surrendering, but expect fierce fanatics too be at large." the radioman reported. "Alright, were gonna enter the town, go street by street, house by house, be ready for any resistance."

About 40,000 fanatics begin open combat with the invaders. They are fighting the Snow Legion in the streets of the mountain village, using unconventional tactics and make shift weapons too damage the tanks. One fanatic even runs straight at a tank and destroys himself and the treads with a grenade. Two machine gunners set up in an apartment complex and attack advancing infantry, they also booby trapped the building with light explosives.

General Vectorian requests a meeting with Moore, and other allied leaders, until then he has taken down the communist flags and is declaring to be leader of the provisional government until Allie leaders take full control. Also, all armed Southern Army is to aid in the battle against the fanatics, they are being re-uniformed so any Army fanatics that went rogue will be recognized by their uniforms.

Two men were struck in the street and were lying dead in front of the apartment complex. On top of the immobilized tank, the turret man and the tank commander were fighting off fanatics trying to take it over. Major Birdman had a Alexandra and 6 troopers with them. They spotted a house that the fanatics were operating out of, they stacked along side of the wall and he ordered grenades. Everyone took one and lobbed it through the windows, they then stormed the house. One trooper was hit upon entry, and then Birdman killed the no legged fanatic trying to shoot at him. Outside, more troopers arrived following a tank, it began putting rounds on the apartment building, knocking one machine gun out.

"Sir the southerners are fleeing." Luitenant Rauge informed Ivan as they were standing outside with there men. "Excellent didn't even have to waste a single soldier. Right to the main objective, March through the Santiago battlefield and let's March in the opposite direction of the others. "

The Windmillan army begun mobilising. Marching past the Santiago forces, the Windmillans had there tanks at the front with the transport and supplie trucks at the back. As they passed some of the Windmillan soldiers were reading there Bibles while others gave dirty looks at the Santiago forces. Only the sound of the engines and the war drums could be heard.

The force was heading to a local town that they had pre decided would be there target.

Alexandra entered the first floor of the building behind Major Birdman, quickly eliminating two fanatics who seemed to be moving upstairs to assist their machine gunners. She heard the rounds from the tank wreaking havoc on the fanatic positions, which reminded her of her structures course at the Military Academy. "Major Birdman, those tank rounds are going to weaken this building. We need to be outside before the entire thing comes down on our heads." She advanced towards the door, hearing the screaming of dying men upstairs.

Birdman understood this, and only wanted to flush the fanatics up stairs in the path of tanks path. He ordered the troops out of the building and into the back of the facility where there was a squad of fanatics. Birdman immediately opened fire with his G3, wasting two fanatics. Another Cleventonian trooper opened fire than everyone flowing out of the building began opening fire at the squadron of fanatics as they moved out of the area.

Moore had an interesting offer from Vectorian, Vectorian was willing to make the Southern Cleventon into a territory of Kistufell, kind of a crossroads in the region. Moore relayed this back to Nicezio who was open to this, but he understood he owed some of the land and resources to the Windmill Empire and the Santiagans, so he called all leaders involved and invited them to the Southern Cleventonian Capital.

Vectorian only asked that he'd be on some sort of Administration board overseeing the crossroads of Kistufell if that choice had been taken by the invader leaders.

Meanwhile, the fanatics were in the streets trying to overrun the armored troops coming into the town. 1400 fanatics sprung from the forest, and started bum rushing the Windmill Army. They were carrying anything they could get there hands on, hunting rifles, 2 by 4s, hammers, etc. One Windmill soldier stood up to take a shot but one fanatic hit him with a hunting rifle round right in the head.

Patriarch Dracul sat behind his desk in the Palace, his telephone to his ear. He had no desire to go to the Southern Cleventonian capital, and he certainly wouldn't. He relayed this to the man, stating that he would send his most trusted Generals to the capital instead. He hung up the phone without any sort of formal goodbye. After hanging up, he immediately called General Kulmala. The General picked up his satellite phone, answering gruffly. "Yes?" Patriarch Dracul cleared his throat, "General Kulmala, the South is no more. You and General Karju will report to the Southern capital to meet with the leaders of the alliance." General Kulmala grunted, which Patriarch Dracul took to mean okay. The line was disconnected, and General Kulmala went to deliver the news to General Karju. He would bring Major Karjalainen as well.

Meanwhile, Alexandra fired her assault rifle at the fanatical Southerners, who were clearly near to their demise. They wouldn't live much longer. She saw men fall by the bullets from her rifle, feeling the adrenaline of war flowing through her veins.

Santiagan troops began advancing to their objective: several towns far ahead of allied lines. Even though the Southerners were surrendering, the Santiagans were charged with rounding up radical leftists. The Santiagan troops, having won the intense battle, were now thirsty for vengeance for their dead friends.

Sergeant Major Trace and General Harris had trucks pick up several hundred troops, and, driving past allied troops, go to their objective. The soldiers, reaching their town, disembarked, and, knowing that fanatics attacked the alliance at a mountain village, quickly began rounding up suspected communists.

Special squads of the Santiagan Army, dubbed the "Religious Improvement Department", began visiting the churches of the town. The RID quickly destroyed these sites of prayer by either fire or explosives. The rounded-up communists were shot, their bodies burned. The Santiagans, as they left the town, fired at civilians who had been looking at the troops.

The soldiers piled in the trucks and went to the next town, repeating what they did at the first.

After the 566th Infantry Regiment stormed into the mountain town, and helped root out stragglers, Major Birdman began the occupation phase. Fanatics that surrendered were sent to the slave market, and the civilians are detained to make sure no fanatics hide in their ranks. "Well done Alexandra, a bloody fine job." Birdman told her as he turned to go speak to the Lieutenant Colonel of the 566th about Moore's order.

Nicezio still awaited the answers of the other allied countries who haven't responded yet.
