I suspect that Horton fighter you have, or alternatively the Ta-183 (in both roles as a fighter and a recce bird) could work in recon roles like the P-38.

When you hit the Beagles in the bomb bay, what rounds were you using? APi? APiT? T? It's important, because, unless you had a 20mm using HE, APHE, or APi, you wouldn't get an explosion. You might not get it regardless if it wasn't armed...

Regardless, the first flight was 1950. It entered service 1952. I could most definitely rush it's development for 1951.
