[Petrokovia]

In recent events, New San Nicholas has declared war on the Nickel Empire-a nation who just recently became an ally after a large scale war between us. Confused about the current situation, top generals in the Petrokovian Armed Forces sent out troops to New San Nicholas, apparently to help them, despite the Premier's strict orders to them to remain neutral. The Premier stated in a speech in response; "Petrokovia condemns New San Nicholas for making a preemptive strike, especially considering the world's shaky circumstance. Those involved with the order of troops out to New San Nicolas have potentially put Petrokovia at risk and poor standing within the multi-nation alliance."
It is currently unknown what the reaction from the other nations within the Multi-Nation Alliance-Chernarus, Nickel, Exaequatio, Almiana, and Aaresa-is, but the Premier hopes that they can understand that the USSP, for now, is neutral, and condemns New San Nicholas for its reckless actions.
Rear Admiral Shawn Gustovich of the Petrokovian Navy, General of the Red Army Lovsansky Nikitovich, and General of the Air Force Kiryanov Larionovich are all being held responsible for the unauthorized troop deployment, and are being dishonorably discharged. Replacing them are Colonel William Hardings, General Johne Borisovich, and Lieutennant General Samson Kirov, respectively, effective immediately. Secretary of War Akhremenko Dmitrievich is being replaced by Armin Borrochi, and Secretary of Peace Anosova Ruslanovna is being replaced by Kimoni Borsovich.

In other news, the annual Tesla Music Festeval, held on October 1st, is seeing the first pieces of equipment gathering in Albertrov Hall. Some 157 Tesla coils are planned to be set up this year.
In Soviet Hall, conductor Henry Gates will be leading the Petrokovian National Symphony Orchestra, playing a selection of works by famous classical composer Heidrich Sherkov, including Symphony No. 4, Organ Concherto No. 5, and Violin Concerto No. 1. WAR on the home front!
As thousands of southern refugees flee the plagues of war, regional delegate and acting Chancellor, Jacobo Dicentis, returns from the 2nd regional council meeting held in Petrokovia. Dicentis, a southern native released a statement regarding the Nickelian occupation: "If Nickelian forces should remain in southern San Nicholas, the transition from war zone to prison camps is evident.Their heads of state wish to concentrate their "undesirables" on San Nicholasian soil." The conflict escalated after the head of state of The Nickel Empire refused the Peace plan, claiming rights to southern San Nicholas under the grounds that The People's Republic of Soviet Chernarus seceded the land to them .

War CRIMES in the South
Reports of genocide have also been reported to Nicholasian humanitarian officials with estimates of at least the massacre of 29,000 civilians and counting. The southern townships of Santiago, La Reina, Santa Maria, & La Luz have all reported missing numbers of civilians increasing the concern for those displaced in the south, a curfew is currently being put in place. With reports of Nickelian brutality rampant northern citizens have promted to create Transporte de los Niños, an organization designed to evacuate children abroad whilst the nation is in conflict. The programme requirements are based on the size of family, and good-standing with the current Loyalist government.

In New Jalisco the first official communist convention met today, since the departure of Chernarus' forces. The selection process for a possible candidate to run for Chancellor is in progress. Trending polls amongst those who classified themselves as communist, show that the call for sovereignty is vital to the San Nicholasian Communist Party. With a staggering full consensus that southern San Nicholas be reunited with state.

NEW SAN NICHOLAS INVADES NICKELIAN COLONY

NEW MOSCOW, Chernarus - Just recently this week, the country of New San Nicholas, which has been recently restored after the dismantling of the communist government there and the Chernarussian withdrawal, has launched a massive invasion of Nickelian occupied Southern San Nicholas. Tensions with the Nickel Empire have skyrocketed, due to their staunch refusal to hand over their occupied territories, and had converted it to a penal colony, forcefully evicting local residents and knowingly violating several human rights.

A government spokesman who released information on the matter stated that "Chernarus will not be directly involved in the conflict and are currently working towards a peaceful solution to the war. We condemn New San Nicholas's insufficient use of diplomacy to solve the tense situation and the Nickel Empire, also for failing to solve or even prevent such a situation from happening. We will be deploying 50,000 troops to the Chernarusso-Nicholasian border to ensure that we are safe from any potential attack, although the chances of that happening are extremely improbable."

Reporters attempted to be sent to the war zone to report on the conflict were recently denied by Chernarussian officials, claiming that the situation had gotten too "dangerous for civilians." From what officials have deciphered from the situation, the attack began after a declaration of war on the Nickel Empire, when missile strikes and aerial bombardments quickly caught the Nickelian forces off guard. Although we have received unconfirmed reports and rumors on the current conflict there, government officials are unsure what it will mean for the region.

In an official report yesterday, the Congressman in question was facing several unknown charges and currently faces a large fine. The government has repeatedly assured that "all attempts are being made to stop this war" and that "we assure you that life will continue as normal." Whether or not this will break out into a Second Great War is certainly possible, but let us hope it will not happen.

As government officials throughout the nation convene at the interim capital of New Jalisco, the announcement of an agreement with The Nickel Empire has been reached & celebrated in the North; penal colonies in the south are soon to ensue. Former Deputy, Sara De Los Reyes, of the 12 congressional district has reported that as part of the peace agreement, the occupation of the southern districts/provinces has been lifted. Marking an end to Nickelian aggression however the problem among many southerners is the agony of reconstruction. Damages are being reported with rough estimates as high as 10 million euros in property damages & infrastructure due to skirmishes with Nickelian/White Star forces. Power and electricity are still expected to be out for fifteen districts & counties closer to the Nickelian border, residents are being evacuated to shelters in the cities of Lagos de Morena,Arandas,& Puerto Maria. The economy in many southern districts has also come to an abrupt halt, causing shortages in several southern delicacies such as the Nichaaresan Tilapia, southern boars, & Nichaaresan hummus. As southerners scramble to resume life, northern district deputies have proposed placing sanctions on southern entrepreneurs & business leaders that dealt with Nickelian & White Star forces. Deputy Asora Xiomara, of the southern 27th district, refutes the proposal in a statement she made to the Nicholasian Eagle :

" The proposals of sanctions on southern businesses will only result in the halt of a speedy recovery. What our northern delegates fail to realize is that under Nickelian occupation, citizens were abandoned and civil liberties were stripped, the leaders of business provided leverage through commerce. To sanction the south would only result in more unemployment and shortages."

Ximomara is also an advocate for the advancement of indigenous tribes local to southern Villa Del Rey.

Southern children that were evacuated during the onset of war have also begun the initial process of reunification, with factors depending whether their home district is safe for return. Marie Solaria, 16 and her younger brother Victor who is sleeping, await their plane at Jalisco International, she looks down throughout the interview almost as if to make sure that her brother hasn't disappeared.

" My Mom was born near New Jalisco , but decided to move to Villa Del Rey to study civil engineering. That's where she met my Dad. There was five of us me, my mom, Victor, & our neighbors two daughters, who had decided really late that they were going to come up north with us. Their army [Nickelian Forces] was in control of everything by then. She was supposed to come with us... my mom was supposed to come with us." ( Marie opens her carry on and pulls out a passport with dark stains on the inner pages.) "This is all I could grab. The new government had created these lists of terrorists, it could be anyone it didn't matter who you were. No one told my mom how you got your name on these lists, but everyone knew what happened if you were caught. I don't know if my mom was ever on any list .We were on our way to Villa Del Rey International but we got stopped at one of the checkpoints before the city center, we had to walk because traveling by car was illegal. 'To help curb saboteurs'. My mom was asked twice for her registration papers. She told the guard that she hadn't registered as a Nickelian citizen and that we were leaving north. He informed her that the border was only opened for 'puppies' and that Nicholasian bitches were supposed to register. (I look to Victor who is asleep, Marie notices my glance.) " He saw what they did to her. They was a lot of us there, about thirty other people had been selected for inspection. I was scared My mom called the Guard a pig and said to fuck off. I remember feeling so shocked, I had never heard my mom actually use those words before." (Marie's expression hardens) "The guard pulled out his pistol and shot her twice; in the mouth and between her eyes." Marie then begins to shout. "HOW COULD SHE BE SO FUCKING STUPID!! She's dead because of her pride, HER FUCKING PRIDE!!"

Victor wakes up and realizes what his sister is talking about and as if he's uninterested, he turns around on the bench and tries to get back to sleep. Marie & Victor Solaria are on their way back home to be reunited with their father, Germon who awaits their return.

GOVERNMENT ATTACKS 50 SUSPECTED WHITE STAR BASES
THE LATEST IN A SERIES OF GLOBAL OFFENSIVES AGAINST THE WHITE STAR

NEW MOSCOW, Chernarus - A government spokesman yesterday said that the People's Intelligence and Security Agency of Chernarus, more commonly known as PISAC, staged raids on around fifty White Star bases in six different cities and fifteen towns. Although the government has not disclosed the number of PISAC agents involved in the raids, some estimates say that up to 4,500 agents were involved in the raids that killed nearly 250 White Star terrorists and captured a further 25.

The government has not disclosed any information on the casualties from the raid, but official estimates suggest it is around 450 agents, with some 75 dead. The spokesman said "the White Star cell has been virtually decimated"; he also said PISAC had been gathering some information for a very long time on the locations of the White Star bases. However, he also warns civilians to keep their guard, as there are at least 200 terrorists still in Chernarus... more

Premier Daniel Petit announced earlier today that more research would be put into the idea of using hydrogen fuel cells for power. Hydrogen fuel cells collect energy from the fusion of hydrogen molecules with oxygen molecules, forming energy and water. If this form of renewable energy caught on, a nation could potentially have completely clean energy that could last forever. "There are only two problems," he said, "Where to get the hydrogen-It is extremely abundant, but most of it that we would use is found in water, which brings up the second issue-Most of the water is salt water, so we need an inexpensive way to desalinize the water."
This spurred the creation of two new government operated companies-Hydrogen Fuel Power of Petrokovia, who will be operating the actual fuel cell plants and separating the water into the hydrogen and oxygen needed, and Water Filtration of Petrokovia, who will be filtering and desalinizing water for the project. WFP will also supply more water for agriculture and civilian use, and has scientists working on figuring out new methods to desalinize water so that hydrogen fuel cell plants can become efficient enough to be a viable energy source.
The new companies have also created more jobs, in additions to the new work found in construction of parts for the two international space projects.
The Premier has sent out a request to Exaequatio to aid in the creation of more efficient and less costly means of desalinizing water.
This new form of renewable energy counts for only 0.5% of power within the USSP, but the Premier hopes that it will take on a larger role in the future. Nuclear power still produces the largest amount of power for Petrokovia, making up 84.5% of it.

25 WHITE STAR PRISONERS TRANSPORTED TO PRISON FACILITIES

New Moscow, CHERNARUS - The government has recently disclosed information on the transportation of 25 Captured White Star prisoners to several prison facilities in a classified location.

The prisoners, of which all were from New San Nicholas, were transported in a high security convoy line from military bases on the outskirts of New Moscow to facilities in a classified location. From there the government has announced they will go under rehabilitation programs, before being transported back to New San Nicholas, where they will be able to lead new lives.

This has attracted criticism from several prominent Chernarussian nationalists and many members of the Communist Party. An anonymous Party member recently proclaimed this action as "a disgrace to the country, because we are being so lenient on terrorist scum." Another claimed that it was the result of negotiations between White Star leaders and government officials.

It is true, things have been growing stagnant in Petrokovia, pride-wise. However, Premier Daniel Petit has recently sparked new interest in the German third of Petrokovian ethnicity. Focus on Russian ethnicity is still there, but later today, there will be a German March Parade in Krasnograd. This came about after a recent poll indicated that the more German population was feeling neglected, which is a major problem, as that accounts for a major part of Petrokovia's heritage, along with Soviet ethnicity.
After a nationwide referendum with 99.56% voter turnout, a new flag of Petrokovia was designed and voted in to better show equal parts of Petrokovian ethnicity.
After a meeting with various military leaders, the Premier also stated that various tanks would be added or removed from the Petrokovian military.
Tanks removed include the T-34/85 and the T-34/76. Petrokovia offers the retired tanks as a gift to Soviet Chernarus and Exaequatio, long time allies, and the Nickel Empire (who, even if they did not realize it, may have spurred the new slight Regermanification of the USSP).
Tanks being added to the forces include the Panzer IV and the Leopard 2A6. The Maus superheavy tank is currently being debated, as the USSP's Type 1000 is still in service. However, squads may instead have half the number of Type 1000s, and have the other have of the number be Maus (so, one of each per Army Division). The advantages and disadvantages of switching, and possible cost of modernizing the Maus design are all issues being discussed.

GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES PLANS TO BEGIN DEMOBILIZING PARTS OF THE MILITARY

New Moscow, CHERNARUS - The government, headed by Premier Nikoláy Medvedev, has recently announced plans to begin demobilizing the military in the aftermath of the Great Regional War. The military, having reached its peak with 2.5 million soldiers in October 2014, will be discharging some 500,000 troops by the end of the year.

"This process will take time," urges a Congressmen who wishes to remain anonymous, "and we assure you we are doing all we can to make sure soldiers are sent back home to their families." This decision has met opposition in the Communist Party and many Chernarussian nationalists.

A demonstration outside the Premier's Mansion occurred last week, with over 250 protesters participating. It was broken up by local police, who conducted over 50 arrests. Several people attempted to run into the mansion, and are facing a several year sentence in jail for their crimes.

Smaller demonstrations have occured in Nikovich and Nikograd, known for their high populations and smog. The Premier has not been available for comment, although a government spokesman has deemed these demonstrations as traitorous to the state and unlawful, meaning to disrupt law and order.

UNREST IN AKHEMNI
MASSIVE DEMONSTRATIONS TAKE PLACE IN MEDVEDEV AND CHELYAMINSK; PROMINENT AKHEMNIANS PUSH FOR MORE AUTONOMY

Chelyaminsk, AKHEMNI - Over 20,000 people participated in organized demonstrations in Chelyaminsk and Medvedev, two of Akhemni's most populated cities. The protests were generally peaceful, and has been the result of tensions between the native Akhemnians and the Chernarussian dominated Akhemnian legislature.

Despite attempts to break up the protests by police, they have continued to protest for more autonomy and to allow Akhemnian politicians into the province's Congress.

Violence has also resulted between police forces and protesters. One incident caused the death of a teenager, who was hit by a supposedly nonlethal rubber bullet in the chest. Police claim that it was the result of a protester attacking an officer. The government has promised a full investigation on the matter.

Riot police have been deployed in these cities to maintain order. Tension continues to grow between the government and the people of Akhemni, who were invaded and annexed by Chernarus in the 1920s...more

Our population is 90% Petrokovian, but typical "Petrokovian" is actually about 35% Slavic (25% Russian/10% Ukrainian), 33% German, 12% Irish, 10% English, 5% Scottish, 3% Belgian, and 1.1% Polish, 0.8 %Finnish, 0.1% Mongolian.

On top of that, 4% is Russian, 3% is German, and 3% other.

At 5:30 pm today, Petrokovia sent a crew of 5 to land on the Moon. They are equipped with flags that will last much longer than usual dyes against the radiation of space, meaning it will take longer before they are bleached white by the atmosphere. The flags they will stick on the Moon include both Petrokovian National Flags, the flag of the Regional Council, and the Exaequation National Flag.

Several days ago, scientists had announced that they officially completed and tested their development of the XM1220 Armed Robotic Vehicle, essentially a robotic tank used for ground based assaults. Production is expected to take place early January, and effectively replace the largely ineffective XM1219 Armed Robotic Vehicle which its development was canceled in 2011. The vehicle features integrated anti-tank and anti-personnel and reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) systems remotely operated by network linked soldiers. After the development of the Armed Assault MicroTank (AAMT) about a year ago, some people take issue with the development of this new technology, arguing that "violence is not the way." Supporters counter by saying that a military is necessary for survival and that these unmanned vehicles could potentially save lives in the future.

In other news, Petrokovia had a successful landing on the moon today, and replaced our original flag that was placed on the moon on July 9, 1965. They will be bringing the original back, where Exaequatio will display it in the famous Liberty Museum.

Also, welcome to the Christmas Season, officially starting November 15 in Exaequatio, the stores are filled with soon-to-be presents. The decorations, trees, and lights have all been placed on the public facilities and Northern Exaequatio has even gotten its first snowfall. The world famous Weihnachtsmarkt City has opened their Christmas markets and are ready to receive the yearly tourists visits of the city.

"After a confusing period of 3 days the public has been made aware of what had happened over the last couple days. It seems like a protest against the governments banning of the Green party. Riot police were sent in and after protesters blocked the path of the police, they surrounded a small group of officers and began jeering at them. One of the protesters threw a rock and the police opened fire killing 17 people. The crowd immediately attacked and killed all of the 12 officers. The crowd than began attacking every police officer they could find. After that news went dark and bits of info was found here and there. The military was called in and after 3 days of fighting they regained control after using tanks, helicopters and tear gas. 2,730 people are believed to have been killed including 250 soldiers and police officers. They cost in damage is estimated at 17.950 billion dollars."
