[Sovereign Charter] Oehiton reaches out to regional members

Early in the morning, President Njorn Beowolf, President of the Free people of Oehiton meets with his councilmen. "Gentlemen, I called you here today on the necessity of diplomacy with immediate neighbors. As it stands, we have four other nations on the same continent as us. One has already reached out in friendship. And I feel that we must cease our isolationism and join the regional powers in politics and economics if we wish to grow. Vice-President Moira Stormsoul "Mr. President, I am in agreement with you on this one. Never before have we had such an opportunity to o not grow economically, but we have an opportunity to learn new technologies and new cultures. Our ancestors were sackers and explorers. Today, we have become isolationist and afraid of our own shadows. Our military, as fine as it is...they keep everything out. No one has been allowed within our borders in...well...I don't remember how long. Does anyone remember?" then the Secretary of Defense speaks up "For the first time ever, Madam Vice-President and I are in agreement..." says the nearly eight foot tall Tyr ironhammer "...and not at odds. I have been leading our military going on thirty years now. And not once has someone from outside of the immediate region been permitted within our borders. Nor for the man before me...or before him...and so on. Not since the age of Thrassk the Bloody has anyone visited our beautiful shores, seen our majestic mountains. We must reach out. Let others know we are here in peace and wish their friendship." Everyone looks at him with surprise. Normally a cold and cruel man, never before has the Secretary of Defense spoken of peace and friendship. Then Helga Bloodbayne speaks out "As the Secretary of Economics, I think you all know I stand as a proponent of this and support the Presidents decision. I think we need to allow others in so we can grow economically...." she looks around "I think for the first time ever, we can all say Mr. President that we are all in agreement with this. Even those who haven't spoken yet, look in their eyes...I think we all agree. Am I wrong?" Everyone shakes their heads and agree, she isn't wrong. The entire Council agree that reaching out Politically and Economically is needed if they are to thrive and survive as a nation. "Then my friends, I here by decree today we shall send out a diplomatic broadcast to all the nations. Those that wish to accept my offer will be welcomed with open arms. Those that choose not to, that is alright and we will not harbor any ill will. Now go, make preparations." and everyone leaves the office while the President calls his speech writer and together they sit down and come up with a broadcast. Three hours later, a broadcast on all communication waves the Press Conference being held is broadcast throughout the Sovereign Charter "My fellow Sovereign Charter members. I am President Njorn Beowolf, President of the Free people of Oehiton. And I come before you all today with open arms. For many generations, the Free People of Oehiton have been isolationist and unwilling to look past our own borders. All the Presidents before me have all seen it best to remain isolated. When I took office a month ago, the first thing I did was ask myself...why? Why must we remain closed? So I began looking outside our borders and I see many great nations in the world. A world so vast and dangerous. Yet beautiful and full of friends. So please let me be the first to openly say...Please, come join me in Oehiton in two weeks time. Let us sit down in peace and discuss how we of Oehiton can fit into the world. We have resources, we have a military, we have a beautiful nation. Our beaches are stunning. Our people...proud and cultured. I invite all nations, even those who have a poor reputation within the world. For none are our enemies nor has anyone done us wrong. I thank you and my office will not refuse any calls from heads of state or their representatives." at this point a broadband communications number appears at the bottom of the screen and is spoken over the radio waves. "Thank you for your time, and long live the Charter." and the communication goes black and ends.
The President goes to his office and calls his council in again and they begin speaking about where it will be held and what must be done to ensure its safety and the well being of all who attend.
(OOC: For all involved, I will be making the initial opening sequence Tuesday morning at about 7 am east coast time, usa.)
