Székesfehérvár, the Kingdom of Hungary. 25 August, 2130

The 50 year old Emperor of America, Maximilian de Britanania, sat proudly in the Cathedral Basilica of Szent István király, watching the wedding ceremony being conducted by His Holiness, Pope Anthony IV. For this wasn't just any wedding, but the most important wedding in the history of mankind, a wedding that fulfilled an almost one hundred year old dream. For this wedding unified the the four most important families in the world.

Her Imperial Highness, Anastasia, Grand Duchess of New Mexico, Princess of the Imperial Republic, traced her ancestry to both the Emperor Glacies Prince Willaim Tarkin, and her slender body never looked more beautiful in her stunning white gown, her long blonde hair (a trait she inherited from her mother) draping her shoulders. Her new husband, meanwhile, traced his line back through the Houses of Meszaros and Draculesti. Mihaly Dracelesti, Prince of the Magyars and the Swedes, was the heir to the other great Monarchy, the Kingdom of Hungary-Sweden, which controlled most of Northern and Eastern Europe.

Maximilian, who held the titles of Emperor of the Imperial Republic of America, of the French, of India, of Japan, of Rome, King of Upper and Lower Egypt, of Italy, of Spain, of Portugal, of Castile, of Aragon, of Navarre, of Andalusia, of Leon, of Phoenicia, Prince of Andorra, Duke of Burgundy, of Milan, Count of Barcelona, Defender of Faith, and Father of the Fatherland, was never seen happier. Maximilian had long dreamt of a union between the Royal House of Hungary and the Imperial House of America. After all, he was good friends with the current Hungarian King, as tradition dictated. His grandchildren would rule almost the entire globe, and he prayed silently his great grandchildren would rule even more. Of course, a personal union of the two lines was impossible, but he knew the Houses would forever be allies against their common foe, the foe that went unspoken.

Székesfehérvár, the Kingdom of Hungary. 25 August, 2130

The day was one to be reveled. The aging Queen Felicia of Hungary-Sweden sat at the Basilica where she was married, with her children, Fábián, Illona and the Heir of the Kingdoms, Prince Ernö, to watch her grandson be married to a Princess. The last true Princess this world can see, other than her own daughter. Mihály had been trained in the same way that Ernö I children were. And Felicia's, as well. He was the epitome of royalty. Wearing the uniform of the Palace Guard, what he was so proud to wear, Prince Mihály waits patiently, in the most hallowed place in the Kingdom, for his bride-to-be. The beautiful Anastasia de Britanania. The joining of the houses was to be the equivalent as if the Bourbons and the Habsburgs were to marry. The two major houses of the world were to be one. And the world WAS watching this moment...

Székesfehérvár, the Kingdom of Hungary. 25 August, 2130

The Holy Father soon began to end the nuptial ceremony.

"Lord, bless and consecrate Prince Mihaly and Princess Anastasia in their love for each other.May these rings be a symbol of true faith in each other, and always remind them of their love. Through Christ our Lord."

The entire assembled church, boasting Heads of State of nearly every nation, filled with royals and nobles, Ministers and Generals, and the most powerful people in the entire world, came together to say in unison "amen"

Truly this was a historic day. Not since the marriage of Louis XVI to Marie Antoinette have two great Houses been joined in such a way. For Maximilian, this union represented to him the apotheosis of the Age of Revolutions, which ravaged the world from 1776 until the ascension of Erno the Butcher.

Prince Mihály waited until the Holy Father said the final words and until he heard the final phrase, "You may now kiss the bride." before he leaned in and kissed his new and beautiful wife for the first time. (In front of the world)

The whole Cathedral exploded in applause and cheering. And outside you could hear the city itself, shaking in excitement that these two houses have joined, creating the alliance which should shape the rest of the world, until Armageddon.

Mihály turned to the crowd, with his new wife's hand in his and waved to his Grandmother, his new in-laws, and the rest of the world. His smile could light up a room, he was so happy...

Buda Castle, the Kingdom of Hungary. 25 August, 2130

When the ceremony was finished, the honoured guests moved the festivities to the seat of the House of Draculesti-Meszaros, Buda Castle. It was late afternoon when the last of the guests arrived at the Castle, and the Emperor Maximilian presided over his table, with all his relatives gathered, like the Monarch he was.

His cousins, the Kings of Greece, Britain, and Mali, along with their children and Prime Ministers, sat in a semi circle around the main Imperial table, where the Emperors' two sons and their wives sat. The Shah of Persia, the Father-in-Law to Prince Saturn, the Grand Duke of Nevada, was seated with the Emperor as well. The Prime Ministers of France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy were also close near by, and the Grand Chancellor, Prince Alexandre de Britanania, the Emperor's twin brother, sat to Maximilian's right, with the Empress Irena Romanov to her husband's left. The Grand Chancellor's six children and their Families' sat at a separate table, where the House Tarkin also sat. The sixty year old Minister of War was in poor health, and had all but delegated control of the House to his son William, Prefect of the Praetorian Guard.

The other Imperial Ministers and their Families' made a circle around the Emperor's cousins , and seated with them were the Heads of the Imperial Departments and other members of the Patres, the highest ranking Imperial nobles. Not quite as powerful as the Ministers and Heads of the Departments, they still wielded vast wealth and most of them were owners of some of the largest and most lucrative companies and corporations in the world.

In front of the whole gathering in the Ballroom of the Palace, sits the Queen and her children. But, in between them, sits the Prince and his new Bride. Champagne is being circulated and everyone is having a great time. The elderly queen stands up, with a glass of champagne in her hand and says, in her sweet and sincere tone, "To Mihály and Anastasia! To Draculesti and Britanania! To Peace and prosperity!" Before throwing the glass to the sky. The whole place explodes with cheering and clapping, while Mihály sits in front of anyone, getting a bit red at the reception of his grandmother.

As the reception carried on, the Emperor continued to hold court with his family and nobles. Even on a day of great celebration, Maximilian was working and building the trust of his people and the power of his Empire.

Eventually the Emperor rose and and majestically approached the table where the ageing matriarch of Hungary, where he bowed.

"Your Royal Highness, it is an honour to see you again."

In Felicia's advanced age, she remains seated, but bows slightly. "It is great to see you, Maximilian. It has been quite some time since we've been face to face. I must thank you with your help to return my family back to their home, here."

Something quickly jolts to Felicia's mind. She puts her glass back on the table and swallows the remaining champagne she has in her mouth.

"I just remembered something that should have been reversed decades ago. Your family's villa, that was nationalized under my brother's regime, will be returned to you. The communists hadn't burned it down and I've had servants keeping up with it. Your family may return to it, from now on. Whenever they wish."

Maximilian bowed in gratitude.

"Thank you, Your Highness. That brings joy to me, and hopefully my Family. We shall spend much time in the Carpathians, then. For today marks a new era, the era where the evils of communisms and their allies have been righteously crushed by the true powers, the monarchies. Your Father, bless him in heave, longed for this day."

The Queen smiled and look to her father's portrait on the wall...

"I hope that he has enjoyed what he's seen. He deserves to see the people he fought and died for in an age of prosperity, just like what he ushered in. With Mihály's and Anastasia's marriage. That dream is assured. Not a force on God's green Earth could tear down the alliance that was forged, on this day."

The Emperor smiled, a rare sight even on celebratory occasions.

"Yes, my grandchildren and your great grandchildren are to be the first of a new breed of monarchs, the kind the world has not seen in a long time, Your Highness."

Maximilian raised his glass and turned to the guests.

"Today, against all odds, the greatest alliance in the history of humanity has been forged, not through threats and conflict, but through love and respect. The world will forever note that on this solemn day, the Earth was born anew, and in the womb of my daughter, will humanity's future, be born."

Maximilian quickly settled the issue as he sat down once more to enjoy the wedding feast. It was a rare moment, for he and his Family, to be in once place like this. In usual Imperial Fashion, the Emperor's two sons were members of the military, and Saturn's son were to be heirs of Persia. The future Maximilian II was both Viceroy of Mexico and a General in the Imperial Army.

The elderly Queen-Mother stands in front of the whole gathering and raises her glass of champagne.

"I would like to propose a toast to the newlyweds. Not only does their love seem true, but they are happy with this marriage. And with their union, begins a new era of politics in the world. A world where the two ruling nations are joined by one family. May the world forever be in our favor. To Mihály and Anastasia! May God bless them, everyday!" Felicia says, in her usual loving way, but much more powerfully.

Mihály looks over to his grandmother and smiles wide. Then stands up, walks over to her and hugs her tightly. Right before walking back to his seat, and kissing his new bride, once more. In front of God and Country.

The guests clapped as Mihaly and Felicia sat back down. Maximilian looked around the room one last time and smiled. Of course, as he did, his thoughts moved elsewhere. The great leaders of half the world were gathered in Buda, but the other half, he knew, where meeting in the first heart of darkness itself; Москва. There, Maximilian's spies told him, the General Secretaries of China and Russia were meeting with their lackeys; the Presidents of South America, South Africa, Thailand, and Poland. Maximilian was disgusted just thinking about it

Buda Castle, the Kingdom of Hungary. 25 August, 2130

Drinks were flowing, conversations, jokes and laughter filled the halls of Buda Castle. It was a great time... Mihály spent much of his time focused on his new bride. Which was to no surprise to anyone who knew the young man. He as a smart kid and very passionate of many things. And with the aging Queen Felicia unable to move as freely as she wanted, anymore. The task of entertaining the crowd was left to Crown Prince Ernő II, the heir apparent to the recovering Kingdom. As the nearly 60 year old man mingles with the crowd, a man grabs him from behind and spins him around. And in a thick Russian accent screams, "The House must burn!" and pulls a gun to his head.

The whole hall goes silent. Mihály jumps over the table and start to run to his father, Felicia calls the guards... And Ernő smiles and shakes his head. His younger brother, Fábián had recently arrived and was standing just to his right. He grabs the man's arm, throws him to the ground and proceeds to violently snap the man's arm in half. The guards take over from there. They arrest the man and take him away. Where, unassumingly, he would be executed in a few hours.

Ernő pats his brother on the back...

"And that's why I can't do anything without you, Fábi." He says with a laugh and raises his glass of champagne.

"To the newlyweds!" He says, nonchalantly. Causing the crowd to erupt in applause and laughter.

It was past midnight when Maximilian decided it was time to retire. The Emperor certainly had his duties, even on the day his daughter married into a Family he respected and loved, fulfilling decades of Imperial anticipation. The astute Emperor first made his way to the Queen Mother, then Prince Erno and Prince Fabian, and lastly to his new son in law, whom he gave a final word of advice.

"Treat her well, my boy, for us Imperials, have a temper few can bear."

Mihaly smiles and shakes his Father-in-law's hand and replies to him in a very manner of fact way, "If you think that'd ever happen, you know nothing of a Magyar's passion."

He releases the handshake and waves to the rest of Maximilian's party. "Be safe and enjoy your trip!"

Nevermore, the Imperial Republic of America. 1 September 2130

It had been several days since the funeral, and although the celebrations had officially ended, the Empire still appeared in a joyous mood. On the morning of the 1st, the Emperor's car was making its way to the Palace of the Senate, where Maximilian planned on attending the first session of the month, as was often his practise. The traffic was unusually bad that morning, however, and several blocks from the Senate, Maximilian told his chauffeur he would walk the rest of the way. The 50 year old Emperor exited the Rolls Royce with a few of his Praetorian, and several metres after leaving the vehicle, it suddenly exploded. The Emperor was knocked back, but was unharmed, but that could not be said of the driver and some of the other cars on the street. Almost immediately more Praetorian arrived and whisked the Emperor away as paramedics and police arrived on the scene.

Upon hearing the news of the blast in Nevermore, Ernő decides to call the Imperial Capitol to get a hold of the man who saw his life flash before his eyes, earlier that day. He wad started to get paranoid... An attempt on him. And an attempt on the Emperor... There might be a correlation...

Nevermore, the Imperial Republic of America. 1 September 2130

It was Prince Alexandre, the Imperial Grand Chancellor, who answered the call. He pulled the Hungarian Crown Prince on video call.

"Erno thank you for calling. It will mean a lot to Maximilian to know you called. I wish he could talk, but at present, he is in a meeting with the War Council."
