BTW: ICly your analysts ought to be able to tell you that the 'active military operations' thing in point (3) is to a certain extent a bluff. We hope that they'll cave once points (1) and (2) have been achieved. Failing that, we'll wage proxy war alongside the stations we support against the stations they support until they have no local allies left to legitimise their presence. High intensity operations aimed directly against the Helghans are a last resort, though we're capable of pursing this option if absolutely necessary.

I want to clarify the relevant international law on the sovereignty issue. There are several schools of thought as to what constitutes a sovereign state, but some minimum requirements apply. Under the Montivideo Convention, for instance, they are (1) defined territory, (2) permanent population and (3) a government, capable of exercising sovereignty over (1) and (2) and able to form relations with other states. Even if you go down the 'constitutive' route, which stresses recognition by other states, there has to be a pre-existing entity of some sort (with the above characteristics) to be recognised anyway. Hence my commander's suggestion that the Commonwealth Ring's governing authorities be recognised as a new provisional government. It may not possess effective control over the island's whole territory or population, but it could lay claim to both, as well as form relations with other governments.

Also, Heldur, for future reference, please avoid clogging up the IC thread with OOC comments. That may be the common practice among noobish one-liner threads, but not in a serious RP. Also, if you must post pictures, please put them under the spoiler function.
