Hokay. So here's some backstory:
Luziyca and Lanos have an established canon history that tangles at points in time. A few Luziycan kingdoms colonized us in the 1600s before the territory of Hevelka was incorporated formally when Luziyca unified. Hevelka turned into a dominion during the post-unification period and was formally made a republic in 1901. All this while, the Lanosians aren't treated so well and they finally revolt and Lanos becomes independent in 1921. Luziycans in Lanos are either supportive of Lanos and their new country (a rarity) or fiercely nationalistic (like most Luziycans you see these days). Hevelka exists as a state in Lanos and things are nice. Somewhat. When Luziyca splits, East remains the bad Luziyca for Lanos while Lanos likes the West Luziycans despite the whole communism thing.
Skip ahead a few decades. 1984 sees the downfall of the authoritarian president Michael Chambers in the pro-democracy Blue Revolution. 1985 brings in a new formally democratic government with expanded civil rights and freedoms. Nationalistic Luziycans aren't happy, seeing they prospered well under Chambers, so they agitate and get East Luziyca to help them agitate. Tensions rise and things escalate into open war in 1986 as East attacks Lanos in the name of saving Luziycans. War happens, West Luziyca helps us, Lanos wins with the East going home. Animosity between the two countries continues to this day. (The war mentioned will be worked out in detail and/or RPed later)
So um, what's the point of this thread?
Discussed on the IRC earlier, Luziyca and I have agreed upon the RP idea of him attempting, and failing in the end, to pull off a Luziyca-style coupTM against Lanos. Here, we will work out the details of this RP idea before starting the IC thread. Some basic things we did agree upon were that Lanos wins out in the end, at least on the coup thing. Any resulting war, if WETO and Southern Union and Luziyca and company agrees upon that (most likely will be a war), has not been discussed yet.
