January 2007
The Republic of the Khorsuni Nation's war of independence comes to an end, leaving it in complete control of the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Burkina Faso. The Sharokh Force, the special operations branch of Khorsun's Zhudan Guards, begins organizing militias among ethnic Khorsunis in the uncontrolled neighboring territories of Liberia and Guinea to control resources.

March 2013
Joseph Fox is elected President of Liberia. His elections are declared fair by international observers from multiple nations, including Apilonia, but contested as illegitimate by Khorsun. President Fox initiates a program of development and reforms supported by the Apilonian Empire. Fox's reforms improve the economy and reduce corruption but anger the old elites of Liberia's south and east, as well as the Khorsunis, who both lose the control they previously had.

May 2013
The Apilonian Empire annexes Sierra Leone at the request of President Dubaku's government after intervening militarily in a civil war there.

July 2013
Khorsun conducts a ballistic missile test into the exclusive economic zone of Layarteb during the latter's celebration of Monaco's accession to its Empire. The test leads to greatly increased tensions between the members of the October Alliance and Khorsun.

February 2014
The Apilonian Empire joins the October Alliance.

March 2014
Fox's opponents rise up in a large-scale rebellion covertly supported by Khorsun's Sharokh Force. The rebels overrun all of Liberia south of the St. John River.

9:00 AM: HMS Grays Harbour of the Apilonian Imperial Navy stops and seizes a ship smuggling a nuclear device to the Liberian rebels. The Apilonians learn at least one additional device has already made it to the rebels.
10:30 AM: Apilonian SAS troops witness an enormous massacre of loyalist carried out by rebel forces in the city of Buchanan. They escape and bring back video evidence.
12:30 PM: King Walker of Apilonia announces his country's intentions to intervene militarily against the Liberian rebels to put an end to their atrocities. He invites other nations to take part in a coalition effort.
1:00 PM: Rekhan Taneltar, leader of Khorsun, issues an inflammatory statement in opposition to the Apilonian-led intervention and to the Joseph Fox government.
4:00 PM: Apilonia's Foreign Office sends its response to the Khorsuni leader, dismissing his allegations and reaffirming Apilonia's intention to intervene.
4:05 PM: The Kingdom of Holland pledges its support to the Apilonian coalition, committing air and naval support as well as two divisions of ground troops.
5:30 PM: The Kingdom of Dalmasce follows in declaring its support for the coalition.
7:00 PM: Apilonian Ranger battalions begin their infiltration of rebel-held Liberian territory.
9:00 PM: Valorsa Trakhun, Khorsun's foreign minister, meets in Freetown with William Dubaku, the Duke of Sierra Leone. She offers a deal of conditional support for the intervention, but the Apilonians spurn the offers as untrustworthy.

12:00 AM: An Apilonian SAS team successfully captures the Liberian rebels' nuclear device, preparing it to be extracted from the country.
6:00 AM An op-ed piece by Rekhan Taneltar is run by the Central Pacific Times and widely reproduced in other English-language papers. The article calls for Khorsun and Apilonia to avoid war by resolving their differences diplomatically.
7:30 AM: The Layartebian Emperor meets with the Apilonian ambassador to brief him on Layarteb's stance towards the conflict.
9:00 AM: Apilonian Rangers have successfully driven rebel forces out of the city of Buchanan.
10:00 AM: Layartebian and Apilonian naval vessels begin a joint effort of searching vessels inbound for Liberia for any further WMDs.
5:00 PM: James Alexander, the Prime Minister of Apilonia, makes public Apilonia's recovery of the rebels' nuclear weapon during a House of Commons session, and further rebuffs Khorsuni attempts to influence the intervention.
