The War of the Two Empresses OOC/Signup Thread

Hello everyone,

Not too long ago, I posted my RP, The War of the Two Empresses, in the international incidents forum. This is a collaborative project between myself and fellow regionmates of mine from Panessos, and it is open to everyone. It is almost like an interactive novel- where there is a setting, plot and characters, and a story to be told. There is a beginning, a middle and an end that I had in mind. However, the actions of other Nations can and will have an impact on the story and how it unfolds. I consider this RP to be my magnum opus, and I believe that if it is done right and well, it could be one of the greatest RPs of all time here on NS!

That is why I created this OOC thread: for us to discuss the RP, the plot and characters. It is deep and complex- so this would be a great place to address issues. And if you are interested in joining, this can be the place to express your interest!

And of course, here are the
1: No Godmodding, of any sort, you will be warned one time, after that you will be removed from the roleplay.
2: No excessively large militaries, keep it realistic.
3: No excessive vulgarity.
4: Don't take anything done in Roleplay as a personal attack against you, it is in roleplay.
5: Going off of the above rule, do not attack any other player personally, keep things nice in OOC, at least.
6: This is intended to be a long-running Roleplay, possibly taking place over a range of a few years IC, so do not spam one-line posts, you will be removed from the roleplay if you do so.
7: Finally, unless an urgent matter requires your attention in real life, please do not drop the roleplay without at least letting me know you're leaving.
Oh, and try to have fun.

And now, a plot summary, so you know what is going on:

Trouble is brewing in the world. Although the world has enjoyed peace for a time, that peace is coming to an end. Laoni, the sister of the reigning Empress of Gillenor, Tsuni, has persuaded Nathan, the Emperor of Ghant, to marry her and help her claim the throne of Gillenor. The Emperor of Ghant agrees to this marriage, but he has other ideas- he intends to claim the throne of Gillenor for himself, and the thrones of the other states in the continent of Austra Regalia, using his own distant claims as justification to reconstitute a long lost empire.

As the Emperor and his new bride set sail, the world is left scrambling to respond. Long festering reactionary movements begin to mobilize throughout the continent of Hermania, where Laoni is encouraging regime changes that support her agenda. The bloodthirsty General Kruger takes control of the oppressed and impoverished Rhodesea, aiming to restore it to its former glory. Asasia makes moves of its own, to secure a commanding position in the new world order that is sure to come. Epraria is doomed to be torn apart from within by rival factions. Pensalum is also struggling with a populist movement that seeks to tip the balance in Laoni's favor. Loufe is left to determine its next move, ever cautious. Kravia sits and watches, while the Ghantish Emperor's younger sister arrives to court its soon-to-be crown prince. Aeken prepares for the worst, and battens down the hatches. Recardian hurries to organize a defense pact between friendly nations, and Teaurnai lies in wait for its opportunity to resurrect an ancient and long forgotten Empire.

Elsewhere, the great military power Mizrad seeks to uncover the facts of these maneuverings, and attempts to determine who, if anyone to support. The New Lowlands is determined to do what it can to stop the campaign dead in its tracks, before it has a chance to reach Regalia. Libraria and Ausitoria struggle to ensure the stability of the region in the face of total chaos.

Meanwhile, Ghant is struggling to come to terms with its Emperor's actions. The Government did not approve or sanction his actions, and half of the population is up in arms over the current state of affairs. The Prime Minister and the beautiful young noble lady Sophia, the recently anointed head of the House of Lords, struggle to keep the nation from tearing itself apart. Enter the Emperor's Uncle, who serves as Emperor during his nephew's absence, and has plans of his own.

Tsuni relies on the support of socialists, liberals, secularists, and those who prefer the status quo, while her sister Laoni is supported by monarchists, fascists, conservatives and the highly religious. The closer the Emperor gets to Regalia, the more chaotic the world becomes. War, destruction and political intrigue intensify with each passing moment. Two sisters who have taken their sibling rivalry to an unprecedented level. There will be no shelter from the War of the Two Empresses.

What will you do?

Military numbers from NSTracker aren't unrealistic unless the player chooses to make it so and even then it's to a point. More accurate would have been:

No excessively large militaries, keep it realistic.

NSTracker does its best to aid players wishing to keep things realistic and is ever ongoing in this pursuit. If you have issues, bring them up there. Posting opinion as fact helps no one, including you.

Looks pretty good to me (ic and ooc thread) bit too far along for me though. Maybe next time, let me know when you decide to start (or get someone to start) a serious RP :)

Good point, it is well taken. I have made the necessary changes to the rules spoiler. Thank you.

Does anyone (including Rhodesea) have ships trying to slip through my blockade? It would be fun to RP it.

Not going to lie, I'm still catching up but I'm a little confused about whose on whose side...

I want to support Ghant, and I THINK that means supporting Rhodesea and putting you down?

EDIT:

How would I go about making contact?

Well we shall probably find ourselves fighting on both sides before this war is out. But yes, Rhodesea looks like being aligned with the Ghantish Emperor, although not with Ghant.

Firmador wrote:How would I go about making contact?

However you like, as long as it's realistic. What were you thinking of?

Just so you know the Rhodo-Eprarian war that is referenced in one of Rhodesias chapters is incorrect information.
1: Rhodesia was never close to wining the war.
2: Gillenor never entered the war.
3: Technically Ghant was never in the war. At least not in the RP of the wars.

Well I like the whole '2,000 years' thing, it reminds of how the Palestinians were illegally jilted from their land to make the zionist religious 'nation' of Israel.

But yea, I'm sure they'll find it easier when the bridges and storehouses start blowing up 8)

The thing is, I have absolutely NO idea how to insert myself out of the blue in this regional imbroglio D:

I didn't know we had an OOC thread on the NS forums...So Ghant, want to ask the moderators to clean-up OOC chatter on the IC thread?

Hello! Are you new to RPing?

Not convinced it's necessary myself.

I don't think that would be necessary at this time. We could just specify that from this point forward, OOC posts go here, and IC posts go there.

Yeah, true, really the war was between Leanore, Mizrad, Loufe, Volvek, Epraria, Hatsuneian Union, and North China (I still hate him).

Gillenor was in the war, but they never fought except for that Operation Throwback thing.

Leanore's Side
Leanore
Mizrad
Volvek

GASS
Loufe
Gillenor
North China (for some of it)
Socialist Rhodesia
Zandovin (forced)
Tyrgastan (forced)
Sulden (forced)
Shruikan (forced)
Kolinstan (forced)
Zargavad (forced)
Antuna (forced)

Hatsunesian Union
Gigaverse
other Japanese nations I can't remember...

Neutral
Epraria
Free Rhodesia (for the beggining, then it was conquered by Loufe and became Socialist Rhodesia)
and some more

I'm pretty sure this is correct, Epraria correct me if I'm wrong

Wait you guys know I'm not taking sides in this OOC'ly, right? I'm sure none of you know this IC'ly but, to clear up what I'm trying to do I'll just say this. Mizrad is in conflict to try and stop any major war from happening although they are using this war as a tool to complete major tasks of theirs such as straightening out relations with Rhodesea, settling into the area, keeping relations good whilst taking out any enemies of Mizrad before backing out of the war and trying to keep the area around Mizrad peaceful.

Also Loufe, how would I go about stopping the meeting? I was thinking possibly spreading the word of what they're trying to do but, that might take too long for three days. I'm thinking that setting up sniper positions and picking off the Loufe officials who are trying to kill everybody.
