The people of Zephyric had rebelled against the federal government several times when it had been a democracy, trying to go back to the way things were when they had been an Empire. The uprising that had overthrown the democracy had lasted eight years; eight years of war and loss until the federal government fell. Unlike in the end of most rebellions the old members of the government were allowed to become normal citizens; free of being political prisoners or executed. Many of the cities were eerily quiet, but in the capital city of Dederis massive crowds of people cheered as the flag of Zephyric was blowing the wind.
Dederis, Zephyric
The coronation of the new Emperor had recently ended. The concrete buildings of the city had banners depicting the flag of Zephyric hung waving in the westward wind, it evening and street lights began turning on, and in the center of the city about a third of the crowd had dissipated either going to pubs or going home when a man in a martial uniform that was black, with dark red trim came forward to a wooden podium.
"People of Zephyric! You have rid yourselves of the corrupt form of government known as a democracy! It is not by my will that I have been made leader but yours!" He began. "You have returned our great nation to the way of government that are ancestors in the past before thirty years ago when a man corrupted by capitalism came forward and changed our form of government. You revolted a total of four times but they never listened, until yesterday morning when they finally surrendered, hiding in their offices from the anger of the people they said they would listen to!" The man continued with cheers of his name.
"Damien! Damien Damien!"
The new emperor, Damien Zather smiled. "My people, you have done your ancestors proud. You have done our nation honor, and have proven to our neighbors that we are a united people who will stand for a corrupt government being in control of us!" The speech continued for almost twenty more minutes, the people being fiercely patriotic. The other cities slowly become less eerie, but the military was on edge incase they were attacked.
