Captain Sefra Taro of the mining ship Yorkshire activated her vidicom and the face of the Minister of Economics and Planetary Trade popped up in front of her. "Captain Taro here. We are preparing to pull out of warp and begin harvest of Vega II." The Minister smiled.
"Excellent! Report once more when you land." The vidicom ended.
"Lt. Kiro, pull us out of warp."
"Aye, aye."
The pilot pushed some buttons, slid some slides, and, finally, reached inside a perfect cylindrical hole, grabbed a handle, and pulled it until it was level with the rest of the board. Suddenly, the stars were no longer a white blur and they went out of warp.
"Var in heaven! Turn the damn ship!" Yelled Capt. Taro. The Yorkshire pulled out exactly 1.5 klicks away from the starboard side of a vessel with unknown markings. When they turned, the Foran ship's starboard side was .25 klicks from the unknown ship's.
"Who...who is that?" Capt. Taro wondered aloud. "I thought there was no technologically advanced life in this whole sector, much less this system."
"Then apparently you're wrong, miss." The communications officer, LJG Rifu Suro, informed her. "They're hailing us." Capt. Taro looked nervous. She activated the telecom connecting to the Minister.
"Sir, we have found life-forms with origins from this sector."
"Well, there are a number of life-supporting planet's in that--"
"Sir. We haven't entered atmosphere yet. It's a spaceship. They're in an exploration ship, by the look of it." The Minister paused.
"What the Kel? Hold on, Captain." He disconnected.
"Mr. Suro?"
"Yes, Captain?"
"Put them on the vidicom." The comms officer pushed a button, entered a passcode, and an alien face appeared on a holographic screen in front of the Captain.
