The Nation of Molotovskiy

Molotovskiy is a rapidly growing nation, the industrial revolution that happened in the early of 20th century had evolved a minnow nation into a huge population packed nation. By March of 2013, there were only little scrap of land left, and those were only affordable by the wealthy. The people requested the government to take actions, but there weren't many options available. After dozens of riot packed meeting, the government came out with 2 options. The first option was to bulldoze the existing houses and create many high rise buildings, the second option was to expand Molotovskiy's territory to the neighbouring nation, Independant SPQR. The people rejected the first option utterly and voted to go with the second option, driven by the beleive of having a very strong armed forces. Meanwhile, the government was in a mess, the high ranking officials didn't want create an international incident. But they complied to avoid a coup.

The Hexagon, Popelgrad Guberniya, Molotovskiy Capital Region

A number of high ranking military officials were in a meeting with the president, they were discussing about the strategic plan of occupation of Indenpendant SPQR. The concluded that they were going to strike to the heart of the nation, Graeco Roma (( Real world Sparta )). The war would be primarily fought by the navy, which had a main fleet of 2 Admiral Kuznetsov class carriers, 3 Kirov class battlecruisers, 4 Udaloy II class destroyes , 6 Sovremenny class destroyers, 3 Sierra class submarines, and 10 Transport vessels. The fleet would strike from south west direction of Graceo Roma.

Novichok Naval Base, Zhukovgrad Guberniya

Huge crowds flocked the base as the main fleet departs to the main attack zone. A squadron of SU-34 fighter / bomber escorted the fleet to their destination. The attack was launched without any warning from the Molotovskiyian government, and the media were told that the fleet were going on an annual excercise. The fleet is to arrive in 6 hours.

A group of scouts using fisherman's boats slowly drifted on the sea. They observe for Independant SPQR's armed forces movement in vincinity, they are relaying the message to M.S Borodino, which is the flagship of the main fleet.

The People's Republic of Independant SPQR is a relatively small country, known for its beautiful natural environment and the well-cultured population that lives around its lands. Every single of these men and women consider themself to be what is left from the mighty Roman Empire and do as much as possible to preserve their original family roots.

After years of isolation from the rest of the world, Independant SPQR's government finally decided that it was time to join the world scene. Only for a couple of years the country became a WA delegate and joined a couple of unions, begun funding tourism, took strict measures for the discipline amongst the citizens, rose an army to protect the homeland and, who knows - maybe to "aquire" some land from its neigbours at some time in the future.

One of the most advanced neighbours of Independant SPQR is Molotovskiy - a rapidly growing nation, limited to a relatively small territory. With the population growing by milions each year, the Federation is in need of more and more living space to secure the welfare of its population. With much of no other options left, soon Molotovskiy launches an attack by sea on Independant SPQR with its strong fleet.

Somewhere in Independant SPQR's territorial water

What the scouts sent by Molotovskiy's fleet see is populated beaches with tourists from the country and abroad; the life at the coastline goes as it would normally. Not the civilization neither the government has any idea about the fleet of Molotovskiy travelling their way...

However, a couple of hours before they arrive, a naval unit of "Border control" spots the fleet. A signal is immediately sent to the coast Field Quarters, then to the Military HQ, then the Augustus (President) himself was notified. By his order, an immediate telegram was sent to Molotovskiy's President, consisting the following:

Comrade!

We've been maintaining the good relations between our peoples for generations; our children were friends with your children, each freely crossed the borders of each other. But I got a report that you've thrown your whole fleet at us... Dear Comrade, let us not brake the piece, let us be friends! Call your forces off as soon as possible. But may this be clear: If you do not stop the invasion, we'll fight you until the last drop of blood is shed! Be wise, Comrade!

While the respond is awaited, the President has ordered a code "Red" for the whole country: Bomb shelters have been quickly checked for everything necessary, citizens have been instructed how to react in case of an attack via public loudspeakers, television and radio and the armed forces have been given the permission to use lethal force if necessary. The weak air forces, consisting of two transport helicopters, three jet fighters and a bomber, are ready to take off; two nuclear submarines are also on the wait.

Indenpendant SPQR's water territory

It was a sunny day with little wind, The fleet is approximately 100km away from the SPQR's coast, the scout group saw hundreds of tourists and civilian on the coast, they then relayed messages to the flagship, reporting potential targets. The fleet kept drifting slowly toward the coast when the fleet Admiral received a message from the president, the fleet is now on high alert, Admiral Kutuzov ordered the Kirov class battlecruisers to launch their SSN19 and SSN14 to the coast, their main targets was the hotels and the beaches. Moments later, The SU-34s, which had a mid air refuel reported in, they are to unload their rockets to the coast and return to the carriers.

Meanwhile in the palace, the president smirked at the message, he eventually didn't reply the message from SPQR...

Independant SPQR's continental lands

The conflict has been going for over three weeks now. With their first strike on ISPQR's beach lines, Molotovskiy has made great success. Most of the big cities and touristic locations have been hit and flatted with the ground; fires are raging through the forests. Firefighters are trying to take the fires down, but due to Moltovskiy's forces in the area it is a hard job. A couple of firefighter planes have been taken down by Molotovskiy's jets, over 15 people of crew are no more.

Meanwhile, medics are in a rush to take care of all the casualties (currently counting over 10 millions). However, with the firefighters busy with extuingishing fires to prevent a widespread stripe of fire, people pass out burried below the demolished buildings.

The only two submarines sent to fight against Molotovskiy's fleet are almost helpless. They are mostly doing "hit and run" acts, while the artillery has been trying to sink a couple of Molotovskiy's ships. Flames from the sea has been reported, however no hit is confirmed. The air force is also no use as there are no military airports in a 200 km's region around the coastline.

Other countries have called their tourists off the country, the borders have been closed for everyone except those who leave the country.

The victory seems easy as a pie to Molotovskiy...

Independant SPQR's coastal cities

The bombardment of SPQR went well, the forces met little resistance aside from a small number of submarines which hit an Udaloy class destroyer in the hull, causing the destroyer to undergo a maintenance on the sea. Apart from that, the fleet moved 150 miles closer to the shore, closing the gap to 50 miles from the main shore.

The seemingly unstoppable forces of Molotovskiy were deployed after 3 weeks of bombardment to the cities, the landing vehicles travelled in full speed toward the coast while the fleet behind them supported the landing party by shooting their conventional cannons to the cities. Up in the sky, a number of news helicopter broadcasted the landing via live video.

Reporter Sergey Mikhailovich was one of the reporters who covered the landing.

Reporter Mikhailovich : "You are now watching the landing of SPQR's shores by the supreme force of Molotovskiy! That's right! Hundreds of Molotovskiyan troops along with BTRs and T90s are swarming the beaches and taking down the defenses easily!" **Brief pause, followed with a large explosion, the camera then aimed to the place of the explosion** "WHOA, this is truly spectacular, I'm not sure what just exploded but what I can tell you is that it was HUGE. Anyways! We will be back to you with some more explosions and a live report from the ground later today, I'm Sergey Mikhailovich reporting from Independant SPQR's skies, URRA!"

On the ground, things weren't as smooth as the reporter reported though, the explosion came from the 2nd Armored Battalion's BTR90 command APC, the explosion took over 10 casualties including 2 Kapitans. The Independant SPQR's soldiers might not have the sufficient armaments, but they surely are fiercely patriotic and brave soldiers.

Independant SPQR's capital city

The sudden attack on Independant SPQR indeed made every single General of the Supreme Defence Bureau sweat even by sitting. Until that moment everyone thought that the People's Republic's armed forces were unbeatable and perfectly prepared for any scenario and no one suspected that exactly the Federation of Moltovskiy would do any of that kind.

However, the element of surprise indeed did well on Molotovskiy's side. Now they've made a progress of about 20 kilometers inside ISPQR's lands, so the Ministry of Defence decided to take immediate actions against the invasion.

Every brigade, every single soldier on the front has been ordered to retreat back to an imaginary line on ISPQR's lands and to dig up trenches and defence settlements while the enemy's still miles away. The new orders are no one to retreat unless a special command by the Augustus himself is given, or unless the casualties in a company exceed the half of its staff.

As Molotovskiy's forces slowly and carefully advance forward, the patriots of ISPQR are already building defences.

Meanwhile, even the Ludi Cerialies (games dedicated to the goddess of the harvest in Roman mythology, Ceres) were paused.

Coastal Cities
After seeing the retreating SPQR's forces, Molotovskiyan main forces split into two seperate forces, the 1st force went north toward Olympia while the 2nd force kept pushing deeper into Graceo Roma. The 1st force is expected to arrive at Olympia in 2 days, while the 2nd force was expected to clear Graceo Roma in 4 days.

The fighting went hard in Graceo Roma, the withdrawing SPQR forces still packed a lot of punch to Molotovskiyan's 2nd force, the ground is littered with debris from building and vehicle wrecks, turning a once glorious Graceo Roma into a city of dump. To make things even more chaotic, Molotovskiyan forces has to deal with the scattered citizens of SPQR, which is proven to be a very gruesome task. Many civilian were forced to abandon their homes and go to the emergency shelter. But not every civilian were fortunate, many soldiers from the 84th Irregular Battalion plundered and harrassed SPQR's civilians. It is only a matter of time before the rest of the world discover what they're doing in SPQR....

In an underground bunker, unknown location

After Molotovskiy's invasion and capture of Graeco Roma, the most important person in the city were driven by a military escort to an unknown bunker far away from the capital. Now this is where all the decisions will be taken from.

And as of first decision, the Augustus decided to give up on his dignity because of the nation and its people and to request help from the neighbour county - Volkschmidt...
