Sorry for the OOC Post in the IC thread, but Malikov, numbers don't mean that much, It's the strategy that counts, And also, It was an IC way of telling SSU to stop acting like an idiot.

OOC: Acting as an idiot yourself doesn't set a very good example. Also, fighting a nation almost double your size actually does matter. It affects strategy in a great way. Larger nations can take more risks, and the smaller you are, the more passive you have to be. Don't go saying "numbers mean nothing", because they do.

This important session of the Final Soviet was broadcast globally by Gadar! and watched by billions viewing over Indonet, and it concluded with the Chairman of the Council of State, after issuing Hutler's death warrant, making a pointed turn towards the cameras and delivering his trademark salute with a restrained smile and the words "Be seeing you."

Bengera

Theatre Commander Camma, a Geletian Celtic woman of storied good looks and evidently the skill at command to win a prestigious military election, received the order on Hutler's head quite promptly. Being as the Bengerans had never got around to asking the Indians to leave their country in the wake of the last Fascist debacle in the region, they, erm, hadn't.

More than two million Beddgelert People's Army personnel and over sixty-five thousand members of the Brigade of Soviet Marines were an imposing presence in the airbases and ports that had accommodated them. Even before receiving new orders from Portmeirion Camma had not been idle, flatly refusing to recognise the authority of the Fascist coup and its leaders or even to allow their representatives onto various bases on Bengeran soil. Members of the legitimate Communist government could find shelter behind millions of Indian warriors in their temporary cities.

With no effort thus far to halt them, supply flights and shipments into the areas secured by the Igovians had continued since the Baltic crisis, and fighters were now being sent up to protect Sakata transport aircraft as they resumed the airlift of forces initially supposed to fight international supporters of the Fascist government of the Baltic Islands... which had ultimately been abandoned by its allies in the face of Igovian military muscle and left to die under a total blockade enforced by more military personnel than the islands had residents. The islands were now considered by Portmeirion an over-seas territory of the Indian Soviet Commonwealth, and now Bengera seemed intent on securing for itself the same fate.

Camma's forces began to broadcast to the populace of Bengera, reminding them that to support Fascism was to be killed as a Fascist.

"Soldiers of Bengera!" went one appeal by the Theatre Commander, "Do not shrink from your duty! Act now to save the Revolution! The Fascists mean to bring war to your shores! Arrest Hutler and his co-conspirators before he forces the world to fall upon Bengera! Bengeran Comrades, do not be alarmed: the Fascist coup is built on paper foundations, revolutionary salvation is yours to take; Beddgelert and the Comintern will prevent any foreign aid to the Fascists; act now!"

If somebody in Bengera didn't hurry up and kill Hutler, Camma would have no choice but to secure the nation herself.

Local Waters

Indo-Soviet Battlegroups Naissaar and Paradise under Fleet Commanders Debendranath Tiwary and Arthmaelrix had been on-station since the aftermath of the victorious Battle of the Baltic Approach in which Tiwary had routed a pro-Fascist intervention force from the Rogue Nation of Kelewann.

By now the squadron detached by Athmaelrix to escort captured vessels -of which there had been many, including eight capital ships- back to the Commonwealth had been replaced, returning the Combined Fleet's total to sixty fleet aircraft carriers, sixty sea-control ships, twenty cruisers, five-hundred destroyers and frigates, sixty corvettes, over two hundred and forty submarines -though no more than a fraction had yet revealed themselves on the surface at any one moment-, and almost seven hundred patrol boats, auxiliaries, mine-countermeasures vessels, and of course the flagships, the Utopia Class battleships Naissaar and Paradise.

Bengera's sailors were to be subjected broadcasts similar to those meant for the soldiers and general population. The navy was requested to indicate its surrender to its Comintern allies in the Beddgelert People's Navy, and promised that it would be allowed to remain in control of his ships: everything would return to normal as soon as it was clear who supported Hutler and who didn't, and all of the latter had been killed.

In short, the message to all was simple. Ignore the Fascists. Hutler can storm the Parliament and call himself the premier, but there is no reason in hell why anyone should listen to him! And choosing to legitimise the authority of the coup would be as good as handing the Igovians the rope on which you would like to be hung.
