OOC No, they're invading a Kamch city, which has had no confrontation with the rebels yet.

Kamchastkia wrote:OOC Also, is everyone just assuming that there are rebels on the airfield? Or that there's even a decent sized airfield in Kamchastkia?

As well, I am using Tier 1 Contractors to secure the air controller's tower, and the maintenance bays at the airport, as well as overwhelm airport security. I will not be withdrawing from Dinigrad, nor will I be launching further attacks.

Being a naval sailor, and not accustomed to the general duties of a soldier, he was given a rifle and told to get in the rear of a Mid-70s Russian Military Truck with an open top that let him see the sky outside. The truck in front of him was packed tight, we expected the worst, and have always prepared for it. Us being such a small nation, and territory makes us look good for the imperialist bastards that have taken over the world as we know it today.
I took a magazine from a nearby soldier and loaded it into the rifle that was handed to me, which appeared to be an FN-FAL but I wasn't any gun specialist. I chambered a round and flicked the safety from off to Semi. I remembered watching a documentary back when I was a kid about the rifle, something about the automatic version's recoil extremely controllable. This being a helicopter that was spotted, another territory agreed to send in a couple of their jets to confirm and engage the helicopters if it was necessary. Though, with provincial politics, you never really know.
I nearly fell out of my seat when the small convoy of 2 military trucks jolted forward, I haven't been in a vehicle and many days, I've grown accustomed to walking since winter started a couple months ago, and I had to dock my small patrol boat, which was just a civilian ship with a huge gun mounted on the bow of the ship, and painted in the dark-green military color with the Kamch Federal Flag painted on the sides. The men inside the truck were oddly quiet, like they knew something that I didn't know. But the Army was always weird in their actions, which is why I joined the naval forces.

My unit was called up for an immediate special mission straight from the top. I wasn't told to much about it at first, only that I needed to be in flight gear, and meat with the Brass with my gunner in 2 minutes tops. I had already gotten dressed, and was starting up the exterior stairwell towards the upper level of the administration building of the airfield. I tightened jacket, and secured my sidearm a small caliber pistol. I've never expected to use it, it was only there if me and my gunner had to eject in a time of emergency. I lifted the visor on my low-tech flight helmet and walked into the room and saw the man himself, Isaiah Abramoff, the commander of the Provincial Airforce. I saluted him, and saw my gunner was already in attendance, there were 2 other people, I assumed another pilot-gunner pair. I stood at ease as I was briefed on what seemed to be an important mission.
"Thank you for joining us, now let's begin. About 5 minutes ago we had a Sky Spotter soldier spot a helicopter, and radar pick up several dozen more outside Dinigrad. We must assume the worst, and you 4 are going to be the first in the fight. You 2"
Isaiah pointed to the other pair
"Are going to be flying CAS for ground forces, we can assume this is a ground invasion."
Isaiah pointed to me and my gunner
"You are going to be flying Air Supremecy, or at the very least, Air to Air mission against the helicopters, we also can expect that, where there are helicopters there air aircraft. Remember to conserve ammo, fire only on a solid lock. We aren't the US Military, you are the only ones available right now. Everyone understand their missions? Flight plans are loaded up onto the aircraft, Dinigrad is who we're saving toady. You're dismissed."
I saluted the man and then started jogging in place and we all 4 filled out slightly jogging, a tradition of the Aerial and Naval forces.

I was the first to hear the chopping of the helicopter in the air. Then we could see the faint outline of it in the sky.
"Ravil! Do you see that!" I pointed to the faint outline in the sky.
"We don't have that kind of helicopter in the military do we?" I said again, directed at a Military Defector.
The defector shook his head, I decided that we should take up a firing position in the surrounding buildings just in case. We were all assigned our buildings, and we moved out accordingly. Going to the 2nd level windows of the buildings, and hiding beside them, as the chopping grew louder. We were preparing for the worst.

OOC: Are the helicopters you are referencing Auskralian helicopters?
