Welcome to the Secret IC Thread! SIC is a concept that I'm hoping will catch on in II. Basically it is announcement and discussion of IC events in an IC manner, but without the other IC nations having any knowledge of it IC-ly. You can coordinate secret alliances, commence plans for invasion, and other stuff so it's completely IC cannon, but without revealing it to the IC world.

In 1950, East Germany was barley in existance for a year; five years had passed since the second world war but the country was still recovering from the damages caused by the invasion of the Red Army, plus the stripping and relocation of all meaningful resources back to the USSR as war repartitions. At the same time as their recovery, the country is trying to build socialism; collectivizing agriculture and turning all aspects of German industry into a command economy.

The country has formally joined the COMECON trade bloc and is effectively recovering on products recieved from other members of the Eastern Bloc; mainly the USSR, these being used to obtain hard currency. There is still shortages of foodstuffs like sugar and coffee; a painful experience for Germans.

Stalin's attempt to bargain for the German capital by blockading the western portion failed due to the Berlin airlift.

The capital of Berlin is administrativly divided between this new nation and three of the four occupation forces: France, Great Britain, and USA. The divide between the East and West is wide open; most peopel can cross into the West as easily as crossing the street; this affects the country's regrowth in the form of an intellectual "brain drain" effect. Controls are put in place to try and curb this action but as yet has done little to curb the defection of East Germans to the West.

With tensions so high in Europe, East Germany will in all eventallity become the epicenter of war in Europe. The question is: When will that be?

Yugoslavia has just begun to climb out of the disaster World War 2 had just her in. Not only was the economy and industry of Yugoslavia destroyed but the war also created even more ethnic divide and tension then ever before. Yugoslavia took another big hit after the Tito-Stalin split, but managed to carry on as usual. The country was in the process of reforming its armed forces, and build military installations along its coast, and in the mountains.

Sepratist groups that survived the war, lingered around committing random acts of violence and terror through Yugoslavia. Tito had begun to clean up what was left of these terrorists but some still managed to pop up. Tito begun to fill schools and media with brotherly love brainwashing and anti nationalistic propaganda to simmer down ethnic tension. Yugoslavia begun to rebuild her economy and develop space technologies that the world was unaware of at the moment. Tito continued to develop these technologies in hopes of one day selling his ideas to the East of West, or maybe even keep it for Yugoslavia and land a man on the moon before anyone else could. Yugoslavia was full of problems big and small, it was up to Yugoslavs and Tito to begin to erase, and fix these problems one at a time.

WW2 left the United States in a rather prosperous position to take hold of and with much of the world still strained from damage of the most horrific war in modern times the US was everywhere except of-course the eastern block. Foreign troubles were brewing between Communist state in east Germany and the capitalist state in west Germany over control of Berlin. Korea was divided South and North on an ideological level and Indochina and Algeria surged with potential rebellions against the French. Meanwhile communist politicians rose in France and Britain as the French 4th Republic was on the verge of collapsing internally. Spain and Portugal have become the leftover thresholds of Fascism as Italy struggles to adapt to its new Republic. Japan is under the Iron fist of Allied Occupation as the former empire festers in depression. Meanwhile China experiences the threshold of Communism as the Nationalist government huddles in Taiwan. Potential Communist rebellions could spark in Africa and Latin America. Meanwhile at home the growing post war culture begins to conflict with the civil rights movement in the south as suburbs grow in the west.

WWII left the Union in a troubled yet optimistic state. Whilst the realizing of such cities as Stalingrad left hundreds of thousands dead, the overwhelming victory and triumphant razing of the capitol of Germany left the majority of Russians in good faith for their government. Five years have passed since the Axis of Evil fell, and the success of the First Lighting Project have led the government to green light a full-on nuclear development project: the RDS-series is in full development mode, and researchers are optimistic about the results. The adoption of the new East Germany into COMECON and the Warsaw Pact was a great step forward into spreading communism throughout the world.

History:
The occupation of some parts of the country by the Allies in the aftermath of World War I prompted the establishment of the Turkish national movement. Under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal, a military commander who had distinguished himself during the Battle of Gallipoli, the Turkish War of Independence was waged with the aim of revoking the terms of the Treaty of Sèvres. By September 18, 1922, the occupying armies were expelled. On November 1, the newly founded parliament formally abolished the Sultanate, thus ending 623 years of Ottoman rule. The Treaty of Lausanne of July 24, 1923, led to the international recognition of the sovereignty of the newly formed "Republic of Turkey" as the successor state of the Ottoman Empire, and the republic was officially proclaimed on October 29, 1923, in the new capital of Ankara. Mustafa Kemal became the republic's first President of Turkey and subsequently introduced many radical reforms with the aim of founding a new secular republic from the remnants of its Ottoman past.[16] According to the Law on Family Names, the Turkish parliament presented Mustafa Kemal with the honorific surname "Atatürk" (Father of the Turks) in 1934.
Turkey remained neutral during most of World War II but entered on the side of the Allies on February 23, 1945, as a ceremonial gesture and in 1945 became a charter member of the United Nations.[19] Difficulties faced by Greece after the war in quelling a communist rebellion, along with demands by the Soviet Union for military bases in the Turkish Straits, prompted the United States to declare the Truman Doctrine in 1947. The doctrine enunciated American intentions to guarantee the security of Turkey and Greece, and resulted in large-scale U.S. military and economic support.
After participating with the United Nations forces in the Korean War, Turkey joined NATO in 1952, becoming a bulwark against Soviet expansion into the Mediterranean.

Taking advantage of the West German eastern border (partial) disarmament, the USSR has launched an espionage invasion of West German, which they do not and will not know about. Russian and Ukrainian spies have been sent to extract information about the FRG's foriegn policy, military details, and existance of any secret projects in the FRG.

I find it quite funny that two communist dictators in Eastern Europes two most strongest states share the same name. It is quite evident however that we do not share the same opinon. A man such as yourself may find it disrespectful that I choose to run my state different then yours. I am writing to you because I am setting my ego aside, and wanting to level with you. I run my state different because our state is much different then the USSR on so many levels. Do you understand how hard it is to squeeze Muslims, Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes in one state the size of Belarus!? It is very hard, they constantly demand more from me and I have found the way I run my state the only solution to keeping my country together. I hope we as Comrades, and fellow Communists and reconcile our differences and forgive eachother.

Tank industry is being revived. Some of the earlier and newer prototypes will soon be put into production.

Speed: 20 km per hour on all types of terrain, 30 km per hour max. A new engine for it is being researched.

Amx 40, revived project from 1940 with British Littlejohn Adapter and 60 mm frontal armour
Speed: 20 km per hour, 60 km per hour downhill. It needs an new engine.



Somua S35 CA



A lesser-known project, with 36 mm frontal armour and a really efficient gun (OOC: the gun values will be written later) constant speed, 35 km per hour.

ARL 44, French heavy tank from 1945 that can be compared with the Tiger.



Specifications: 120 mm max armour, 50 shells, 37 km per hour overall speed, good 90 mm gun. Still in production (small numbers), but it will be mass produced soon.

Aditional details of ARL 44: The design of this tank started clandestinely when France was still under German occupation. After the Normandy landings, the French restarted their war industry. Production was carried out by both FAMH and Renault under the parentage of the ARL. Christened 'Char de Transition ARL-44', the ARL 44 was based largely on the pre-war Char B1 bis. The first unit became ready only after the war had ended in 1946. The new French heavy tank came equipped with a 90mm cannon housed in a Schneider turret powered by a Simca traversing gear. The ARL 44 used the same tracks as the Char B1 bis, but were protected by skirting plates.

An future invasion of Siam is planned. B1 ter, AMX 40 and Somua S35 CA secret prototype developed tanks will be built by our factories in 760 copies each, with upgraded engines and sent to Indochine for our future invasion. An invasion of Belgium is planned too, but an peaceful union is more better.

The High Command has become rather disturbed at France's expansion of its military; especially in the industry of tank production. Though most designs are outdated or obsolete by current standards; there are rumors of more advanced desgins in progress.
This in conjunction with the alliance between Italy and the West German regime appear to be the beginnings of a possible invasion in the future.

Intelligence services are being ordered to infiltrate the French military to ascertain any and all plans for an invasion of the GDR across and supported by forces from the FRG.

Any intelligence assets within the FRG are to ascertain West German plans for an invasion and discover any movement towards militarization sufficient for war.

We are troubled to have learned of France's recent motions towards expanding her industrial capabilities for producing weapons of war; specifically for mobile warefare. This following the recent alliance between Italy and our opposition in the West; we have begun to suspect that they plan for a war in the near future. However, it has been brought to our attention that there hasn't been any plan that would involve co-operation and co-ordination of Soviet-German forces should such an event occur. Recent secret activity: Because of the rising number of Communists joining the opposite parties, Italian leadership became aware of the Communist espionage threat. Despite no plans of defense or offense had been put up and the military is currently being re-organized to fit new demands, the government is willing to create an Espionage Investigation and Counterespionage Agency (EICA).

This Investigation Agency will silently conduct operations to discover potential spies and target them to be excluded from any rank that would gain them access to future plans, economic information and other important files.

It is essential for this Agency to evolve once with the reformed military and the economy and therefore, as a Defensive Initiative, the first National Intelligence Colleges (NIC) are being built throughout Italy to recruit EICA members. A complex rank and recruitment system has been planned and awaits to be implemented in these new NIC(s).

Situation in Indochina

17th January 1950

France sent 50 tanks from the mainland to Indochina: 11 B1 fin, 23 Somua S35 Ca, 2 ARL 44 and 14 AMX 40 with British Littlejohn Adapter, an adapter that compresses the projectile to 75 percent and boosts its speed and penetration value. Those were the tanks made in two weeks of hard work.
Our troops can see that the enemy Indochinese are using Soviet weaponry. Our colony must be mantained no matter what. Current land we own is Northern Vietnam and a small part of North-Eastern Laos. We will launch an naval attack in the islands of Southern Vietnam in 3 days.
Situation on the battlefield: Our soldiers have high morale. Ammunition for them was sent togheter with 500 more battle rifles, 2000 ammunition boxes and instruction manuals for the tanks. Smart soldiers and generals will become tankmen in a matter of hours with these manuals.

The situation in France

"Spies, spies everywhere" are yelling the people. So, there will a secret program that will see from what countries people come in France and its colonies. The people coming or the people who came from a country in the Communist Bloc will not be granted permission to go again to one of the Communist Countries. By now, no immigrants from the Communist countries can come to the French Union. French antispy organisations are containing now only people from the non Communist countries. Communist movements are banned in all the French Union by now. Governement Spies are sent in our colonies and in the Communist countries, they should help us. No spies will be sent in the Western European Union countries, since these countries are informing us about their plans.

Stasi agents continue to monitor the citizens of the GDR for political dissidents. Martial Law in conjunction with Soviet military assets and close KGB co-operation seem to have quelled any potential opposition to the government at this time.

Foriegn assets have learned very little as far as plans for war are concerned.

France has been moving military equipment off the mainland for destination(s) unknown. Economy has recovered rapidly due to US Marshal Plan. French colonies and Belgium appear to be the focal points of the current government; policies as yet are unclear/unknown.

Italy has begun efforts to stamp out any socialists by creating an intelligence agency. Economic matters appear to be next in line of importance.

The FRG (West Germany) has been strengthening its borders in retaliation for Soviet occupation of GDR. The FRG appears to be more concerned with political and economic matters at present.
