Admiral Tyack watched the ships under his command come under fire from two submarines. One of the ANZAC-class frigates was hit by a torpedo, destroying the engines. "This is Captain Anzio, we're hit, our engines are gone, we have a fire in the engine room" the CO of the frigate said over the radio. "This is Admiral Tyack, launching SAR assests from the Leviathin" the admiral said.
One of the F-2A's flew away from the rest of the squadron. "This is Starfall 16, moving to engage the en-" was all that was heard, before the jet, which was turning at the time, slammed into the missile that was launched by the other sub, saving one of the Perth-class destoryers. "This is Colonel Astrin, all attackers and members of Starfall Squadron, begin anti-submarine operations, take shots at the other ships when you can, but go for the submarines" the leader of Starfall Squadron said. The F-2As, A-10As and SU-25s turned towards to Berginian fleet. The F/A-18/E/Fs, F-15Cs and ASF-X Shinden IIs flew top cover and, in the case of some of the F/A-18s, ECM support.
Admiral Alyss Quinn had managed to get ehr half of the Navy and Air Force clear of most of the combat, heading for the shore. Then they saw it, approaching slowly. The Mobile Base Carrier bringing in the HQ for the ground forces. The Mobile Base Carrier was nothing more then a remarkabley large S-64 Skycrane, with the rotors removed and turbojet engines, similar to a small executive jet, added. The only downside was it relied on air supremecy and a secure landing site. It's speed was also a downfall. It took three weeks to finish the logistics and had to be launched three days before the ICE invasion to make it in time to be viable for use. It had no real advantage, save for when it dropped off the mobile HQ it was a little bit faster. Alyss watched as the shore was kept clear by the jets she had launched to keep air supremecy for that small section of the shore.

The artillary and helicopters up at Wana Ridge kept up the support of the Phoencian forces. "Lieutenant Benderas, keep up the fire, I'll take my helicopters and try to clear the ridge up clsoe" Wing Commander Nica Sokol said, turning her KA-50 Blackshark away from the artillary of Archer Battlion, the rest of Spear Squadron following her lead. "Archer copies, good hunting Spear Squadron" Lieutenant Benderas said The rocket artillary kept firing then moving so they wouldn't be found as easily. The self-propelled guns kept a base of fire on the ridge. Nica lead her KA-50s with the Phoencian Apaches.
In the sky above Wana Ridge the three AC-130 Spookys kept up the fire support, until one was hit with some flak. “Mayday, mayday, Thunder 02 is going down!” the pilot said over the radio as she tried her best to keep the plane level, guiding it towards the Berginian positions and then, she hoped, around to behind friendly lines. Unfortunately the plane fell short and crashed behind Wana Ridge. The crew was, more or less, alive, unfortunately they where now stuck behind enemy lines. “Thunder 01, 03, fall back, that is an order!” High Commandant Sabre Xalian said. The two remaining AC-130s broke off the attack and went back towards the friendly airfield.
General Xavier Redmont had gotten closer to the coast by this time, but his half of the forces had been out of sight and range of the rest of the ground invasion for a few hours. And he knew as well as anyone that meant he was outside the reinforcement range, he was alone with his troops now, deep inside enemy territory, hoping to make it to the forward command point where the base would be built.

"Shit, we've got a UNA Spooky gunship down behind enemy lines. Any volunteers for a CSAR mission?"
Lieutenant-General Barkley asked over the radio.
He was sitting in the back of the Regiment's LY-219 command variant, the fighting only a few miles ahead of him.
"Sir, this is Fox Company Actual, my 3'rd Platoon wants to volunteer for the op."
a younger male voice reported.
"Roger Fox Actual, have 3'rd Platoon pull back from the front, Blackhawks are inbound to pick 'em up as we speak."
Barkley replied, almost simultaneously coordinating the movements of a squadron of UH-60s and AH-64s.
Within just a few short minutes (thanks to the well coordinated network of communication within the Regiment) six UH-60 Blackhawks (Gold and Pirate teams) and nine AH-64 Apaches (Navajo, Hellcat and Hickory teams) were heading towards the weakest area of resistance in the Beringian line, heading for the crash site at top speed.
A massive artillery barrage from the Regiment's dozens of LY-7/366 Lammasu self propelled howitzers helped to suppress enemy resistance there even further, making it relatively easy for the helicopters to slip through. Many miles behind them, back in the New Lowlands' colony, A-10 Warthogs and F-15 Eagles from the DHEPAF (aka Imperial Air Force) began taking off and heading for Wana Ridge and other areas of violence. The Beringians' lack of air support thus far had been a major blessing but one that likely wouldn't last.

I lost a few SEALs, Angels, Marines and armored vehicles and YOU lost several hundred tanks and a Warspite as well as dozens of MPs and hundreds Heavy Infantry. Stalemate? I think not!
Taronix however got his ass whooped...

Khalite wrote:OOC: Phonencia; Get your facts straight. 'Hundreds of tanks' means 'less than twenty Infantry Fighting Vehicles'
and more MPs were lost than Heavy Infantry. ALSO, the Warspite tank was not officially destroyed, AND the Warspite annihilated a pair of helicopters.
And last but not least, you overestimated the abilities of the two men in just assuming they would be able to get on top of the Warspite and just pry the upper entry hatch open. What kind of critical design oversight would it be if the hatch could just be easily opened by anyone who climbs aboard the tank's hull? This is a multi-billion dollar piece of equipment, and not accounting for possible boarding actions by enemy infantry by reinforcing the security of the hatch would be retarded.

Your Angels and SEALs weren't specifically targeted by that many vehicles and troops intentionally. Such heavy resistance would have beset ANY intruders, regardless of skill level. And as I recall, the scene of combat was in an urban area with very plentiful cover. The only thing that saved your special forces from complete annihilation was decent equipment, very effective cover, and amazing teamwork, plus a reliable source of extraction via the air.
