Draakurr Signs Treaty of Protection with Allamunnic States
October, 2013

FAEDRULHULM, Allamunnic States -- Earlier today, a treaty long-suspected to be in the works and supported by large numbers of Draakurrae and Allamunnae was concluded, signed, and ratified. The 2013 Treaty of Protection, signed by Prince Fradrik Ufdraakurr and President Andrew Filie, and ratified by the Governor's Council and Senate, as well as the Draakurrae Small Council, makes Draakurr, an island nation off of the western coast of Levantia, a protectorate of the Allamunnic States.

The Treaty comes amid increasingly close relations between the growing Levantian powerhouse and its island neighbor. Trade between the two nations has already seen a 150% increase in the last two years, and negotiations continue on the construction of a naval base on Draakurr for use by both the small Draakurrae Navy, as well as by the Allamunnic Federal Navy.

"We hope that this treaty will bring our nations closer together still, and help to foster greater exchange, both economic and cultural, with our Allamunnic brethren," the Prince said after the treaty was signed.

The treaty may also cause people to view rumors that the island is eying potential statehood within the Federal Republic in a new light. Reports also indicate that ethnic Allamunnae around the Sea of Narsindish may also be considering application for statehood. No word on whether or not it is due to pressure from Faedrulhulm.

The Thearcratic States To Allows Foreign Press?
Oct 23rd 2013,

VYRD, SEBAERIA- Well, it’s official, the Thearcratic States has recently announced that the Tyrrhenian Broadcasting Corporation would be allowed to establish a Sebaerian Headquarters in the Foreign Sector of Vyrd, the national capital, constituting the largest step towards international communication the Founders have ever authorized. An official announcement from the Most Holy Office of the Inquisition proclaimed, “This is hopefully the first of many steps that will be taken by the Founders to bridge the widening gap between Sebaeria and the rest of the region.” When pressed farther on the matter, the Most Holy Office of the Inquisition elaborated that while future steps would be monumental in nature, we should not suspect to see a complete deregulation of the communication industry, adding, “The Government does not currently maintain any plans to allow the distribution of internet capable devices, nor should anyone expect to see international calling anytime soon- while we are committed to normalizing communications with the rest of the region, we must do everything in our power to uphold the purity of our nation and people.”

Human Rights groups internationally have argued that Sebaeria needs to take further steps towards freedom of the press, sighting that TBC Publications will not be allowed into or out of the country without approval from the Propaganda Ministry, and adding that the Foreign Sector of Vyrd (where TBC Headquarters and foreign embassies are located) is itself walled off from the rest of the city and under constant guard by the Sebaerian Naval Infantry. However, in a recent government conducted poll, 98% of the populace reported desiring stronger regulation of foreign media, suggesting that Sebaerians may not be as ready for a complete deregulation of the communication industry anyways.

Treaty of Alliance signed between Allamunnic States and Haaldstadt Dominions
October 25th, 2013

FAEDRULHULM, Allamunnic States -- A press conference in Faedrulhulm announced today that a treaty has been ratified and signed that will enter the Allamunnic States into an alliance of mutual protection with the Haaldstadt Dominions on the continent of Waldenburg. The treaty, signed by Prince Fradrik von Haaldstadt and President Andrew Filie, is hoped to deter any foreign power from attempting to lay claim or gain control over the Haaldstadt Dominions, as well as provide the Allamunnic States with an ally in Waldenburg.

The Haaldstadt Dominions in Waldenburg contain the Principality of Haaldstadten-Aachensboro, the Duchy of Daarnhulm, and the Duchy of Arnsfurt, and are ruled over by the Haaldstadt family, a Waldenburg branch of the Ostlundic Haldstadt family. The current leadership of the Dominions include Prince Fradrik von Haaldstadt, his son and heir Duke Rudolf (who holds Arnsfurt), as well as his other son, Maurice. Prince Fradrik's youngest son, Arnulf, is the Duke of Klagenfurt, a small holding within the Waldenburg Empire proper.

Mescaline, mescaline sources, downgraded on list of controlled substances
October 20th, 2013

INNEVILLE, Allamunnic States -- The Federal Investigative Service's Drug and Medicine Enforcement Office officially lowered the classification of mescaline, a psychoactive drug, from a Class B Controlled Substance to a Class C Controlled Substance. The move effectively legalizes medicinal and ceremonial uses of the substance, and lowers fines to only a nominal level on its recreational use. It is not an unprecedented move, as the government's stance on controlled substances and some narcotics has largely shifted from a strategy of criminalization and crack-downs to legalization, control over production, and taxation.

Prior moves to relax controls over such substances have seen cannabis legalized late in 2012, and the legalization of salvia earlier this year. The government maintains taxes on all controlled substances, and tracks the level of production. However, the moves have had many crying foul.

"This will only make this nation's youth ever more decadent and listless," Lutheran preacher Evelyn Michaelson told TBC's journalists. "I understand their intent, but I hope that the FIS will see that this is not a good move for our nation's young people, or for its poor."

However, Joseph Grimmeberger, the director of the FIS's Dunnmaar office, cited the costs of drug enforcement. "Frankly, it's been costing us a lot of money to keep stuff off the streets that's really not all that dangerous, and forcing us to pay the price of incarcerating people that are doing society fairly little harm. A lot of us have seen this as an opportunity to combat those who pose an actual threat to our society, and it brings in revenue in the form of taxation. A lot of that money is not only going to come back as stuff that law enforcement can use to combat other threats, but the tax money can even be used to better educate our young people about the dangers of narcotics and the responsible use of recreational substances."

Government invests £30.4 billion in Manufacturing
October 20th, 2013

Konstantine, Rodarion -- The Divine Libraist Republic of Rodarion has yet again pumped huge amounts of money into its Manufacturing sector which forms 73% of its annual GDP. The new policy of 'Planned Investure' has worked miracles in the Theocracy as the investment has led to annual growth reaching 8% the heighest in 30 years. Since 2010 unemployment has fallen by 21.4 million from its 15% high in the same year. Growth of Rodarian industry is estimated at 4.3% since the start of 2013 and has seen great changes economically in the nation.

The Libraist government has also made efforts to reduce income tax and has increased the free healthcare system to people who earn below £37,000. The average wage in Rodarion has also increased to around £27,581. This has resulted in a huge boost for popularity for the Theocratic government.

However the goodspell has come with some extremities also, to avoid an explosion in public debt the Government has placed barries in place to limit bank lending to the people, this has been greatly criticised for stunting small businesses and stopping struggling families from sort out their problems. The Rodarian government however states people will need to learn to control finances to great effect, once they know how to use money they will find it easy to live comfortablly.

The Rodarian government is set to push through a bill which will see the easing of corporation tax and transaction taxes, which will see business profits soar. Rodarion has effectively become a free market haven. We are sure more headlines on Rodarian growth will appear.

Reichmark Valuation Plummets; War Takes Credit

November 15th, 2013

Lanstag ab Aben, Waldenburg-After furious activity upon the floor of the Imperial Commerce and Currency Traderoom Floor, the inevitable devaluation of the Reichmark was finally posted across Tyrrhenia. For the past seven years, despite continuous strain and unprecedented public expenditure, the Reichmark has remained fairly stable ± 1.36R to the USD. Today the value is set at 1.10R to the USD, causing massive loses across the financial sector while seeing a small 2.1% boost in expected manufacturing. Imperial Bonds have always been reclassified to a 'Risky' categorization.

With the former Waldenburger, now Ibblesguarder, Scant Consortium posting loses as well at the start of the month, observers have become critical of the overall stability of the Waldenburger economy. Dr. von Reims of the Imperial Mercantile bank was quoted stating, "The financial situation caused by the sudden devaluation of the Reichmark will continue the process of economic isolation on this continent. Already we have seen a phasing out of Waldenburger finance for the more robust and powerful of that of Laysley and St. Miquel. Indeed, if large internal investors lose confidence in the Reichmark entirely we could see a currency valued at half of what it is now."

The Central Government responded to this news by releasing an additional 4,000 tons of bullion silver into the market to reassure investors and citizens that the Imperial Treasury is nowhere near insolvency and basic government services will continue. The Central Government has requested major loans from foreign powers to be set at a new, fixed, artificial rate of 1.15R to the USD. Hopefully the Reichmark can be propped up against stronger currencies until such a time as the matter of government debt, and the Reichmark which is its guarantee, can be resolved.

Federal Navy ships to be relocated to Draakurr
November 12th, 2013

NORTHPORT, Allamunnic States -- Following a reevaluation of the strategic needs of the Federal Navy, it has been determined that several ships from the Federal Navy will make their port of call in the Allamunnic protectorate of Draakurr. The move comes in the wake of the explosion that killed the Waldenburg Emperor and maimed Grestonian President Madoc, as the Federal Government anticipates trouble and instability in Waldenburg.

"We intend to protect commerce with our allies in Draakurr and the Haaldstadt Dominions," President Andrew Filie said in a speech yesterday. "In this case, we believe that this interest will be best-served by the relocation of five squadrons of the Federal Navy's Blue-Water Component to the port of Aerkna, on the island of Draakurr.

Ships affected by the move include the aircraft carrier FNS Otto Kraag, the guided missile capital ships Tyrrswatch, Valika, and Northwatch,, and the battlecruisers Piekslynd and Iberika, among others. Overall command of the Draakurr-based fleet will be given to Admiral Jori Haagtynd.

Adonis Medical announces plans to merge with Seraphim Pharmaceutical
November 26, 2013

Adonis Medical, Rodarion's largest and wealthiest company has announced plans for it to merge with Seraphim Pharmaceutical, its main competator. According to several reports Adonis Medical has bought Seraphim Pharmaceutical off its owner Radan Vereda for $121 billion. Though this price has been criticised as a humorously low, CEO Radan Vereda has claimed that for the past eight years Adonis Medical has pressured himself and Seraphim board members to let Seraphim merge with Adonis Medical. According to an Adonis statement, Serpahim will remain as it is, but its role will forge an entire independent department with Adonis Medical's structure. This is due to the fact that Seraphim focuses entirely on Gynaecology, something Adonis Medical does not as it focuses on Heart, Lung diseases and general medicines.

Adonis Medical at the end of 2012 officially became the largest Pharmaceutical Company in Tyrrhenia (Y'all agreed this). Adonis Medical is believed to be worth nearly $7 trillion (its NS so its allowed). It also employs nearly 3 million people in Rodarion and 2 million around Tyrrhenia. However Adonis Medical has been dogged by conspiracy and scandal over the past six years when in 2007 it was accused of conducting Human Experimentation on mentally ill patients in three mental institutions across Rodarion. Then it was also accused of vacinating children with untested medicines in order to study side effects. Though Adonis Medical has fought through and has continued to expand naturally.

"Designer-Baby" Operation Shut-Down
November 18th, 2013

NORTHWATCH, Allamunnic States -- Officers of the Federal Investigative Service raided and shut-down a clinic suspected of unlicensed embryonic selection services yesterday. The clinic is the fourth of its kind to be shut down by federal and state authorities after evidence of the providing of embryonic selection services has been found.

The technology, referred to by many as creating 'designer-babies,' has not been licensed for use by any state or federal government office, and there is heated on-going debate in several agencies, organizations, and in the national legislature. Supporters of the legalization of the technology point to the ability to screen embryos for hereditary or genetic diseases or defects prior to fertilization, and reduce the number of babies born suffering birth defects or congenital illness. Opponents of the technology worry that the use of this technique will not stop at screening for diseases, but that it will be used by the wealthy to create 'super-babies' with a slew of desirable traits, with, the fear being, the result being that children born to the wealthy will have every advantage, even genetic, and would solidify class-differences.

Once clinic, in Daalfuurge, Stalhamark, was attacked by protesters before it was shut-down by police. The other two previously-shut-down clinics were in Dreichium and Leif's Harbor.

A few groups, especially some members of the Senate representing the Fascist Party, have latched onto the concept of 'designer-babies' as something beneficial to society, suggesting that it could end weakness and create a stronger people. Others, including some members of the Socialist Party, have pointed to the lingering fight over the issue that class-tensions in the States remain high.

A Senate committee is expected to hold a hearing on the issue later in the month.

Nekru Wins Second Term as Chancellor
December 2, 2013

Raesen Nekru (R-Vakht) will serve again as the Chancellor, although his support base seems to have largely changed in the past two years that he has spent in Arborgia's top office. He has gained 15 seats overall in the past election, mostly from the center-left Vakht. So too did the Maher Ganz's (B-Halfaxe) Conservative base change as the far-right Nationalist Party seemed increasingly threatening to the traditional strongholds through vote splitting. Mr. Ganz will be sworn in as Premier in the first Liberal-Conservative coalition government, winning the majority of seats in Halfaxe as well as the centrist voters who once supported Nekru.

However, the Socialist leader Vadrin Roduz (O-Zaragoz)'s representation in the Ligatian House was nearly halved as Nekru devoured Roduz's share of left wing support. Roduz also failed to stop Nekru's efforts to convert the race in Vakht and Zaragoz into a two man show involving Nekru and Ganz, although the party won a plurality of seats in Zaragoz. They spent most of the campaigning in Reis, but Nekru and Ganz both made a great showing, and the Conservative took 9 of the 25 seats, with 8 each going to the Liberals and Conservatives. The Socialists held 14 seats before dissolution.

The resulting Center-Right Coalition will be a very strong one. The Liberals hold 169 (+15) seats and the Conservatives hold 168 (+33), totalling 337 out of 400. The opposition, consisting of the Socialist Party, which holds 50 (-49) seats, and the Nationalist Party which holds 13(+1) seats. Ganz said the resulting coalition will govern on "Conservative principles, but Liberal ideas." The government promises to focus on "sensibility" and "responsible money management" with promises to revamp the welfare programme, environmental protection, and market reforms. Political commentators note that the handling will largely be Conservative, although with a Liberal flavour.

Executive Order Issued
December 9th, 2013

FAEDRULHULM, Allamunnic States -- "Executive Order 049-12-9-2013: Regarding: Attacks against Vessels and Persons of Aid, Refugee, Third-, and Neutral-Party Organizations and Entities" was issued by President Andrew Filie today, in response to an attack against a refugee ship evacuating people from the Waldenburg continent as hostilities continued to flare. Nearly 3,000 people died when a submarine of unknown origin torpedoed the SS Neimstadt. Preliminary findings suggest that the submarine was acting on orders from a national government (believed by some to be Rodarion), and the Federal government was, as a result, called upon by many to act.

The Order is focused on attacks against shipping of neutral nations and humanitarian organizations, primarily. In it, the President authorizes merchants to arm their ships, as well as report any attacks, harassment, or hostility experienced from other vessels to the Federal Navy. Moreover, Filie has declared that despite the Allamunnic States' neutrality in the ongoing conflict in Waldenburg, any ship believed to have been attacking third-party or neutral organizations' shipping will be impounded, or, if caught in the act, will be stopped with necessary force, including lethal force.

There has been some mixed response around the region. A few people have questioned the measure's necessity. Christopher Sover, Social Democratic candidate for President, remarked that the measure "Makes a conflict that is none of our concern a problem for us, for no reason other than ideological stance."

On the other end of the spectrum was Moralist Presidential candidate Isaac Muhlenkampf's statement that the measure "didn't go far enough," adding that it was time that the Allamunnic States projected power into the conflict and made it clear to the region that it was not a nation to be trifled with. Meanwhile, President Filie pointed to the concept that if other neutral's shipping rights were not respected, then Allamunnic shipping rights might not be, either.

The Foreign Ministry of the High Kingdom of Ossoria also released a statement condoning the measure, and stating that the rights of neutral parties must be upheld.

THE GREAT PEOPLES ENLIGHTENMENT REVOLUTION
August 1st 2012 (Bulgislavian Calendar System)

Since October 18th 2011 Bulgislavia has been gripped by a wave of popular discontent and unrest which the countries political and media forces have milked and ridden as the highly tumped up "Great Peoples Enlightenment Revolution" this cultural phenomenon has been a dominant force in Bulgislavian society leading to rapid and mass political reform, economic reform, a purge of the old elite and other so called "Regressive Elements" and have basically turned the nation into one giant political, social and cultural experiment

"Enlightenment Era" art, architecture and even religion which is a fusion of new age spirituality and the old communist ideals about utopic vision and a new society dedicated to the harmonious evolution of humanity in a positive direction.

The Great Peoples Enlightenment Revolution is certainly led to drastic and remarkable changes in Bulgislavia. The Largely Anarchic "Free City" of Priesti was the first to embark on the abolition of currency which led to raids on banks and piles of money being burnt on the street as a "Regressive and parasitic force which has done more harm to the progress of humanity then any other force". similar anti-money campaigns are currently sweeping up the country

It is the youth who are the most fanatical and radical, practicing free love in the street and breaking a number of traditional moral and social codes in the pursuit of the creation of a new revolutionary society.

This has led to the threat of extreme intergenerational conflict in Bulgislavia and the situation has certainly alarmed some. The current crisis of Bulgislavia which led to military defections into the Rebel Bulgislavian Liberation Army have blamed the Great Peoples Enlightenment Revolution for leading to the disintegration and fragmentation of Bulgislavian society. however the Radical left wing Popular Front Coalition government is highly defensive of the movement (which they have largely rode into power on)

The Central Government has pioneered a number of Direct Democracy policies in a program of "Devolving power down to the masses" in the creation of a "Peoples Democracy" based on the idea of revocable and recallable delegates elected from the large number of community level "Popular Assemblies" There are believed to be over 132,500 registered Popular Assemblies and citizen's movements

These Delegates commonly referred to as "Popular Represenatives" then represent the agenda of their community in a Provincial or city level "Congress of Popular Representatives" (CPR) There are currently 50 CPR's across Bulgislavia

From the CPR nominations for a list of candidates are created for the population of the Province or city to vote on who would then represent the peoples agenda of the Province in a "Republic Level" "Congress of Peoples Deputies" (CPD) there are to be 10 of these representing the 10 Republics that make up the Revolutionary Republic of Bulgislavia

The CPD then nominate another list of candidates for the population of each republic to vote on to be elected as delegates in a "National Level" "Supreme Peoples Revolutionary Assembly" (SPRA) which has yet to form, but when it comes into being it will superceed the Grand National Peoples Congress (GNPC) as the highest and most powerful political institution within the Revolutionary Republic.

The GNPC which is currently the most dominant institution within the Revolutionary Republic will then transfer all of its descision making powers to the SPRA and will instead become a deliberative, advisory body and will be concerned with information gathering on policy decisions to better inform the public and the SPRA.

25 Latter Day Saints hung for heresy
30th November, 2013

Konstantine, Rodarion, 25 Latter Day Saints were hung in Konstantine today after they were arrested for heresy. The execution took place publically in the working class district of Hendrik Hill, the 25 condemed were executed before a crowd of nearly 2,000 people. According to Konstantine Police the 25 criminals were under surveillence for nearly 3 months before they were arrested, due to Rodarian religious law only Libraism is deemed acceptable to operate within Rodarian territory. When interrogated about their place of worship, the villains stated that they had a church in an abondoned subway station on the Blue Line of the metro, the line was closed in 1997 following a series of tunnel collapses.

The execution of the Latter Day Saints comes four days after 58 Waldenburger Catholics were executed nationwide for illegal practicies, concerns over the rife nature of illegal practices has prompted a government report to be published on the extent of heresy within the Divine Libraist Republic, the report took another knock yesterday when 13 members of the Founders Religion from Sebaeria are awaiting execution. The number of heretical executions has risen over the past 5 years, with nearly 500 people executed last year for heresy, this year is expected to be even higher.

Commissioner for the Konstantine Police Force, Piet De Burgh gave a statement after their execution. "What we are looking it as a growing trend amongst the poorest in this city and indeed the country. We have a situation where people who live in places like Hendrik Hill are indeed using the slums to operate illegal practices and it will continue, but this police force will fight on until all criminals are found and of course punished".

WOODSTED, BRISTOL Riots have broken out in Woodsted cities after a police officer shot dead a peaceful leftist protester in the capital city of Woodsted, Bristol. The unrest began soon after the shooting in the central city district, a regular scene of clashes between police and leftist groups. Militant youths threw Molotov cocktails on the riot police, burned police cars and smashed several shops. Riots then spread to the rest of the country, the firs Woodsted's second largest city, Birmingham, then to the northern citiyof New Hampton and lastly to the rural areas of the country. Three officers involved in the shooting have been suspended, and an inquiry is under way, after the worst act of violence in the last three decades.

Woodsted's Popular Movement for the Liberation of Woodsted, a rogue communist group has been blamed for the protests as they issued a extremely inflammatory and somewhat radical manifest and in the last couple of days spread it to the general population. In regard the central district of Bristol, the PMLW see it as their fortress and they frequently lure riot police forces into ambushes so they can attack them with rocks and fire bombs and even with firearms, our correspondent says. As dawn broke over the city, emergency crews were damping down fires

while many of the militant workers were understood to have retreated to the central district of the city. There are frequent reports of casualties among the police or rioters, and reports of gunfire. In a statement, interior minister Micheal Dawning expressed the government's "profound regret" for the shooting of the protested, who was reported to be 26-years old student from Birmingham.

However soon after the statement, Dawning withdrew it and pledged that he will completely eradicate the leftist movement after masked gunmen shot and seriously wounded a riot policeman couple of hours later after the statement, raising fears that weeks of unrest in Woodsted have given way to violence by an Popular Movement for the Liberation of Woodsted, which was dubbed an armed terrorist group after the event. The officer was in critical but stable condition after being struck six times in a barrage of gunfire as at least 120 shots were fired as he patrolled through the district, near a police station full of officers, government authorities said. Meanwhile, up to 80,000 took to the streets, throwing petrol bombs and rocks at riot police who responded with tear gas. Youths in hoods and gas masks used sledgehammers to smash police vehicles and generally anything that they can relate with capitalism and bourgeoisie. Riot police is having a tough time containing the riot and protecting government buildings, as the small police force is heavily outnumbered by the angry protesters. The angry mob has moved to block access to the Parliament, and a PMLW spokesperson has said they will not move unless the Justice Minister vetoes the court's decision which has banned the PMLW almost hours after the police officers were shot in Bristol. This court ruling was made due to government pressure to outlaw the PMLW, after the shooting of three officers and their extremely radical, leftist manifesto written by their general secretary Orson Flogham.

West Ponente to build "Le Ponttunnel"
December 2nd, 2013

Ordeuil, West Ponente – The Transportation Ministry announced today the construction of an tunnel under the Ponentean Channel, beginning at the Straight of Ordeuil (French: Pas d'Ordeuil). Transportation Minister Luc Sauvre stated "We have been considering this construction for some time now, the transfer of goods between the Ponentean mainland and the northern provinces existing solely on ferry services has become impractical. The new tunnel would open the possibilty of more goods being shipped between West Ponente and its neighbors on the northern part of the Mediterranica continent. The tunnel will large enough to accomodate two north and southbound highways in addition to two trail lines. We plan to continue this project with the expansion of a highway system in the north that will hopefully one day connect the Mediterranican continent."

Not all have been so optimistic about the construction of the tunnel. "The increased flow of traffic will ruin Ordeuil", says Marianne L'Origne, a member of the City Council, "many residents lives are going to be completely altered by this. We wouldn't be seeing anything like this if the tunnel was going to go through Aquileilia." A large protest was held outside Ordeuil City Hall in which many voiced their distaste for new project. Transportation spokesperson Marc Villeneuve in regards to the local unhappiness with "Le Ponttunnel", "It's understandable that some aren't happy, but I think the effect the tunnel will have on daily life here is being greatly blown out of proportion." Whatever the case only time will tell of the success/failures of the undersea tunnel.

Cato Gains Support in Capital, Pillars of Government Fall;

January 17th, 2014

Streinlikstern, Waldenburg-With reports coming in of the slaughter at Aschaffenburg between the Rodarions and Catoist forces to the besieged population inside Blünderburg. Public anger, already high after the murder of Cardinal Mirenhof and the 'Great Strife' as it is known, is being funneled into secondary political means. Prince Cato. As the casualties continue to mount in the Greater Metropolitan area (some sources put it as high as two million civilian casualties already) the Magister of the Inner Courts issued a warrant for the arrest of HIM Frederick. The Magister was arrested and imprisoned the following afternoon; but his actions evidence a rise in discontentment with the current government.

General Hans von Solf of the ISS ordered the 5th Imperial Guards Regiment to furnish enlisted men in all Imperial Courts chambers during deliberations.

Dr. Wenzel Schwell, the recently arrested Magister, stated in his summation that, '...the current government of HIM Frederick von Hapsburg has failed to uphold the oath which His Majesty took upon the event of his coronation, it is thus my responsibility to call him before this court in search of an explanation. A civil tribunal among the privy council has already issued an injunction which forbids the civil courts to pass warrant or judgement upon senior members of the Imperial government and military for the duration.

Already, a wall of flowers have been erected outside Tiemenhof Prison where the Magister is being held; among the floral display, a plethora of cameos and hand produced images of the Prince Cato.

Ascelonian Royal Family Faces Eviction
January 21st, 2013

Cyronis, Ascelonia - Following an inquiry into the accounts of the Haas van Azkelon and several key supporters of Emperor Kristaan in the Senate, the Republican Supreme Court has declared the aforementioned parties financially insolvent. Efforts to stall and delay investigations into the accounts over the past weeks failed as agents of the Senate obtained data from Arc International Bank suggesting that Kristaan, his immediate family, and his allies had negative balances. AIB has taken immediate measures to distance itself from the scandal and to fire employees involved in the conspiracy to obfuscate the Senate investigation who will likely face charges for obstruction of justice. Another inquiry has been launched as allegations of illegal printing by the Royal Treasury have arisen.

In response to the revelations, dozens of representatives in the National Assembly and the Senate have resigned. The Conservative Party has also refused to cooperate with the Monarchists, ending their three year coalition and forcing a new election. President of the Senate Johann van Braam of Albaasa had this to say:

With our economy recovering from a national crisis and an economic recession, we cannot have a country led by people who cannot balance their own budgetbooks let alone the fiscal affairs of our country. To see such flagrant financial irresponsibility in the leading members of our society suggests a serious need for leadership change and is indicative of the moral and economic decline our nation faces. We need to end corruption in the government and the private sector, and we need to bring the Grand Republic back to its original constitutional foundations. I ask fellow Ascelonians to stand with me and with the Conservative Party on election day to rid ourselves of such corruption and hubris.

With less than a week left leading up to the controversial marriage between Emperor Kristaan I of Ascelonia and Queen Caroline I of Saxe-Missern-Blomburg, the news comes as a hard hit to both the Ascelonian peacekeeping mission in Blomburg and many charitable programs dependent on royal finances. For instance, the Helmann Foundation, which provided scholarships for economically disadvantaged ethnic-Fictionese students residing in Ascelonia, will likely see severe reductions in award amounts. Kristaan and Caroline will also be hardpressed to find a place to honeymoon on a budget with Blomburg itself in desperate fiscal straits on the verge of a civil war and the properties owned by the Haas van Azkelon facing foreclosure by the Central Bank, including a vacation residence in the Tyrrslynder mountains in the Allamunnic States. When asked for a response, the public relations representative of the Haas van Azkelon declined to comment. However, the Monarchist Party did issue a statement:

We were unaware of certain illegal activities some of our members have regrettably been privy to. We definitely support the current actions of the Senatorial Justice Committee to rectify the situation. However, we do not believe that the media lynching our beloved Emperor and his family have received on the account of financial irresponsibility by his Cabinet, advisors, and close associates is warranted. We are confident that Ascelonians will continue to support the Emperor's strong leadership and his supporting party, the Monarchists, in the coming election.

Titianician State News

Recently a extremely unusual proposition was sent by the The Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad today that proposed buying the whole of Titanicia because "The IASM is a deeply impoverished country" and "is run by largely irrelevant government".

This act completely baffled the Titianician Senate when they came to the Senatetorium and due to Lazin's recent conquests in Afalia, the Ditor was not there to totally stop the bill going though passed with a small majority. This bill allows the buying of the few Alotosian islands south of mainland Apexium and Hoathelm for private development with very little government intervention.

A former Titianician named Sorvai Marivin said that "this is a great step in ensuring the freedom of the Titianician people and also creating money". However some Senators including Lazin's second in command ,Hëgegoverner Iyæn Stratovimä-Arch Duke of Hoathelm completely condemns the bill saying "This will destroy the decades of perfect created under the rule of the Ditorate which was created by the Lord Protector Orious Lazinium and his successors."

Government Aggravated by IASM Attempt To Sell Islands

Gratenburg, Elcric Kcalb - Ripples of unease were felt throughout the government of Elcric Kcalb when it was announced that The Grand Ditorist Union of The IASM would be making several of its outlying islands available to purchase after the offer was made by the Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad.

The Ditorist Union drew the attention of multiple nations in their unprovoked invasion of Afalia, several of which were prominent members of the International Coalition for Expansion. The reason for the invasion was simple conquest, and the desire for Afalia to be turned into an agricultural center for the decaying union.

Though the Ditorist Union possesses an embassy and trade agreement with the Corporatocracy, Elcric Kcalb did not issue an official statement or take action regarding their invasion of Afalia, and likely will not. However, many of the companies conducting trade with the Ditorist Union either stopped or reduce trade with them fairly recently after Ditor Lazin announced his intention to invade Afalia.

Executive Chairman Adenauer made the following statements, which were supported by a stark majority of the Corporate Senate (47/50) and a decent majority of both Greater Houses (155/200).

"It is most certainly not in our best interests that any nation not native to Tyrrhenia be allowed to establish colonies here. Especially not the Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad."

When questioned why he would not accept Akimonad's colonization of Tyrrhenia in particular, the Executive Chairman elaborated.

"An enemy of my friend is, unfortunately, my enemy. Despite being a nation we would normally view favorably, Akimonad's notoriously chilly relations with our colleagues in the Anti-Communist Alliance make their potential presence in this region completely unacceptable. We simply cannot ignore the fact that such claims may be used as the foundation for military installations from which to strike our allies."

The Executive Chairman then went on to propose his solution to the problem.

"If the honorable Ditor and his senate sincerely wish to open their lands to private ownership, we would be put at ease if purchasing was restricted to only nations that are native to Tyrrhenia. I personally know of several companies headquartered in Elcric Kcalb that would be greatly interested in the prospect of building up the wealth of the Ditorist Union. If not, then they should simply repeal their previous acts."

When asked what he would do if the Ditorist Union ignored or refused the Corporatocracy's appeal, the Executive Chairman had this to say.

"Then we would be forced to take certain courses of action that I would normally not be supportive of. I would greatly prefer this matter be resolved through diplomacy and trade rather than anything else."

GOVERNMENT APPREHENSIVE OVER SALE OF IASM TERRITORY

The government of the IASM, a totalitarian nation located in the islands south of one of the Empire’s strongest allies, Ralkovia, and west of another of the Empire’s strong allies, the United World Order, has recently ceded to Akimonadi offers to purchase the sovereign nation’s territory.

This, needless to say, has duly concerned many Tyrrhenian nations, such as another one of the Empire’s allies, Elcric Kcalb. Despite Akimonad’s feeble attempts at justification of this blatant display of financial liberality and opportunism, by saying that the IASM is a “deeply impoverished country” and that its government is “largely irrelevant”, most enlightened states are fully aware that this is a typical show of Akimonadi political arrogance and territorial exploitation. Though the Republic and Commonwealth is normally a nation the German Empire would not hesitate to ally with, Akimonad’s decision to repeatedly interfere with the affairs of the Anti-Communism Alliance — most notably in New Heathera — has engendered a feeling of hostility between our two countries.

Sorvai Marivin, identified by the IASM’s state-run news network as “a former Titanician”, said that “this is a great step in ensuring the freedom of the Titianician people and also creating money”. Disregarding the confusion as to Herr Marivin’s identity and importance — or lack thereof — the IASM has lately been barraged with both private and government berating, as to the foolishness of the government to allow a nation, so contrary to the IASM in international intentions and ideology, to gain a foothold in a region normally considered a stronghold of the Imperial Fascist Alliance and the Anti-Communism Alliance, harbouring such nations as New Belhavia and the Grand World Order.

It is widely believed that, once faced with widespread Tyrrhenian disapproval, the IASM will withdraw its offer to Akimonad, and prohibit the government’s appraisers from entering their sovereign territory. The German Empire and the Kcalbian Corporatocracy are expected to oppose this latest attempt by Akimonad to gain a stronghold in close to proximity to its enemies, and the IASM’s apparent ignorance of the reactionary republic’s true intentions.

Upon being questioned by a PrussCorp. reporter about the government’s reaction to the IASM’s latest proverbial “fumble”, Vice Foreign Minister Roland von  Hombitzer had this to say:

“The German Empire is well-attuned to all occurrences and issues that may affect its foreign relations, its allies’ foreign relations, and it and its allies’ domestic security. If any threat is perceived, or if any occurrence is judged to affect either of those issues, we will react in some capacity”.

The press and media has been assured, numerous times, that even if the Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad does succeed in colonising Tyrrhenian soil, it will have no direct or significant repercussions on German national security.

STATE CHRONICLE OF ENLIGHTENMENT

"Providing News of The State!"

Ditorist State Offers It's Freedom To Akimonad Capitalist Overlords!, UWO Responds With Ultimatium

Greetings Reactionary Comrades of the State!. In receant developments in Tyrrhenia the Ditorist State of the IASM has gone through with a deal with the devil. The Akimonad Capitalist Overlords have offered to buy out the IASM for it's land, knowing their agenda they want there freedom and are willing to trick the IASM leadership into buying it's soil for 'state building' which is a codeword for there brainwashing of the people and forcing them into economic slavery probably slavery in general. The Ditorist state now has a ultimatium, if it should accept the offer and Akimonadi vessels enter Tyrrhenia waters the IASM mainland will be invaded for the self security of the UWO and allies across the region. Naval assets in the area are already being cooridnated to 'pre-invasion' positions incase the offer is accepted and encourages others to assist in anyway possible for the preservence in Tyrrhenia soverigenity from the capitalist overlords of Akimonad. It also has started a propaganda campaign focused on citizens in IASM to revolt if the offer is accepted, that being said through IASM media networks throughout it's mainland. The UWO hopes the Ditorist state rethinks and declines the offer and never come into contact with Akimonad again.

Imperial Foreign Ministry Dismisses Codification of Akimonadi 'Bremer Corollary'

GRAY: AKIMONADI CRITICISMS EXPECTED, 'NOTHING NEW REVEALED BY POLICY ANNOUNCEMENT'
February 10th, 2013 | By Joseph T. Kollen (jtkollen@aij.org) (AIJ)

PROVISA, New Belhavia — The Director for External Affairs Frederick Bremer announced today that the Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad was formally "opposing the ACA, its actions, and any expansion thereof" and that such action would be made official policy of the Republic and Commonwealth, in what local Akimonadi media outlet Radio Free Haven characterized as the "Bremer Corollary." RFH remarked that "[t]he move is largely symbolic, as this has been the unofficial policy of the government for some time, backed up by the Quigley Doctrine."

When asked for comment initially, a spokesman for the Imperial Foreign Ministry declined to reply. At a press conference later in the day by Deputy Foreign Minister for Allied Affairs Jacen Gray, the chief diplomat charged with maintaining Imperial relations with colleagues in the Anti-Communism Alliance (ACA) and other allies of the Empire, essentially shrugged the Akimonadi proclamation off.

"It is no surprise that the Republic and Commonwealth government would continue to denigrate the ACA and its member-states while continuing to engage in its hypocritical 'Quigley Doctrine.' We've come to expect such hypocrisy," he said in reply to a question on Akimonad officials' words regarding the possibility of improved relations between the Republic and Commonwealth and the ACA following the unexpected ouster of the Republic of Hippostania from the ACA's ranks earlier this morning by the Prussian leadership in Berlin.

"The Akimonadis have repeatedly 'swatted down' attempts by His Majesty's Government, and other ACA governments, to extend a hand in friendship and create better relations." When pressed on the public announcement of the so-called 'Bremer Corollary,' Gray answered scathingly, "Such vitriol and hatred has been known to our government, and the leadership in Berlin, for months. The fact is, ever since the interventions in New Heathera and the Karentenyia war, the Republic and Commonwealth has made clear their strong antipathy towards the ACA, and their desire to oppose us where and when they choose to. This 'proclamation' is nothing new, and does not shock us in the least. At least they're honest about their intentions to the international and Tyrrhenian communities." He added, waving an indifferent hand.

Questioned about Akimonadi President Quigley's off-handed comment that the ACA was "weakened," Gray sneered.

"I categorically refute such a biased view. If it comforts the Akimonadi leadership to feel that way, kudos to them. But let me be clear: the ACA is strong, and continues to play a powerful and constructive role in the world community." He continued, "The people freed from state socialism and tinpot dictatorships thank the ACA for its actions, and the relief of seeing people free to live their lives in peace, with dignity and hope, is what keeps us going day in and day out. Our mission to actualize economic freedom for the world's populace will continue unabated."

HIPPOSTANIA EXPELLED FROM THE ANTI-COMMUNISM ALLIANCE,
AKIMONAD ANNOUNCES 'BREMER COROLLARY'

By employee of PRUSSCORP NEWS SERVICE
Published: February 10, 2013

BERLIN, German Empire — Today, the Republic of Hippostania was expelled from the Anti-Communism Alliance by the Alliance leadership in Berlin. This was prompted by a communiqué from the government of Azurand, a new caliphate that has recently joined the Alliance, saying that Hippostania's recent actions had been "humiliating" for the ACA. They claimed to speak for a "Silent Majority" when it expressed stringent disapproval of the recent conduct of the fervently anti-communist republic. Old Tyrannia backed Azurand's statements with its own communiqué.

Old Tyrannia — a member of the ACA Board of Founders — asked the rest of Alliance leadership to "reconsider" Hippostania's position within the Alliance, specifically, its membership in the Grand Council, the lower legislative governing body below the Board of Founders. The government in Berlin responded swiftly, saying in its response that thought the Board "does not particularly care about the reputation of any of its subordinate states," they came to the inevitable conclusion that "the continued membership of the Republic of Hippostania is ultimately detrimental to our Glorious Cause" — meaning anti-communism.

With startling quickness, the Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad decided to react to Hippostania's forced egress with its own comments, the Akimonadi "Radio Free Haven" reporting a "splintering" of the Alliance. Citing a mistaken belief that the ACA is a "crypt-fascist" organisation — despite Fascism being close to non-existent within the organisation — and fervently denying the chance of improved relations with the opponents of Communism, Radio Free Haven derided the ACA as a "weakening" pact that is a "threat to liberty," showing its own pro-Akimonad bias and blatant caterance to the hypocritical republican government.

The Republic and Commonwealth even went so far as to announce a new "Bremer Corollary", an addition to their infamous Quigley Doctrine. This corollary declares as its intention to "oppose the Anti-Communism Alliance, its actions, and the expansion thereof," as well as to "undermine the ACA and eliminate its influence by all appropriate means," including providing "aid to movements and/or rebellions that oppose the ACA." Though this appears to directly contradict the proclaimedly anti-socialist Quigley Doctrine, as the only groups the ACA would fight against would be socialistic ones, the government of Akimonad appears to have no qualms about following their own creeds only when convenient for them.

New Belhavia — an ACA member state that has retained its position on the Grand Council after the recent election — has dismissed this quasi-sabre-rattling by Akimonad, as reported by the Provisa Times. It cites the Belhavian Deputy Foreign Minister for Allied Affairs, Jacen Gray, as saying that "it is no surprise that the Republic and Commonwealth government would continue to denigrate the ACA and its member-states while continuing to engage in its hypocritical 'Quigley Doctrine,'" and that the Belhavian government has come to "expect such hypocrisy." Gray sneers at the Akimonadi accusation of the ACA being "weakened" by the ejection of Hippostania, saying that "the ACA is strong, and continues to play a powerful and constructive role in the world community."

The German Empire echoes similar sentiments. In a brief, cursory interview given exclusively to PrussCorp, German Foreign Minister Paul von Bismarck said that "the Republic and Commonwealth desires to advance itself with vitriolic rhetoric, and at this, it is adept. However, when put to the test, it is found that the Akimonadi state has no taste for confrontation, and will sooner withdraw these statements, or produce new ones, rather than assert itself in front of the international community." Though His Majesty the Kaiser could not be reached for interview, Minister von Bismarck assured the press that His Majesty was "unconcerned" about the Bremer Corollary, and that His Majesty "did not even deem the topic worthy of any semblance of a discussion."

There is no indication any government will take diplomatic or military action against the Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad in response to its statements, and it appears most are taking them as hot air being blown by "the Quigley cabal," a title the current Akimonadi administration and its supporters are beginning to become known by.

This article was reported from Berlin, capital of the German Empire.
