Pre-emptive War [MT:Closed]

Postby Syrakhstan » Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:44 am

Two guards were patrolling the fences outside a Syrakhstani government facility located on the peak of Mount Doshavand. This government facility was kept high in the mountains away from the cities of Syrakhstan due to the fact that the Syrakhstani government was practicing illicit activities against World Assembly regulations. Two hikers had lost their way, and saw the lights of the facility and began to make their way for the fences. The hikers made their way for the gates of the government facility, where one of them opened the gate. "Maybe now we can finally get out of here." The female hiker said to the male hiker. The man made his way for a vehicle where he began to pick the lock, as his partner watched over him. The guards patrolling the outside of the facility noticed the gates to the facility had been left open ajar and quickly rushed inside the facility. Flashlights waving, dogs barking, sirens wailing "Security Breach", the guards were sprinting throughout the inner part of the facility.

The two hikers took notice, but they did nothing but work faster. The woman made a smaller stance so as not to be seen. As the guards made their way into the parking lot, their dogs began to pull them towards a Mercedes where a man was attempting to unlock a vehicle as a woman stood watch. The guards immediately pulled their weapons "Freeze! Put your hands where we can see them and drop the backpacks!" The two hikers made eye contact with each other, looked at the guards, looked at each other again, then dropped their backpacks and raised their hands. Three guards rushed in pushed them to the ground grabbing their necks cuffing their ankles, and hands together "We have rights" the girl hiker murmured as her face was shoved against the parking lot pavement. "Not in here you don't!" The security guard yelled back at her. An older guard with grey hair, and a more decorative badge looked at them "Take them into the facility to see Doctor Azrael." As the guards escorted the hikers into the facility, their backpacks left by the Mercedes began to emit a beeping noise which got louder over time and after five seconds. The older security guard yelled "It's a bomb! Hit the deck!" The guards in the area took evasive measures hitting the dirt. Then the two backpacks exploded setting the Mercedes sky high, the neighboring Cadillac ablaze, and causing damage to vehicles within a four parking space radius.

The older guard quickly ran for the building's entrance and screamed to the guards "See to it that Azrael gives them the special treatment." The guards escorting the hikers, made a quick turn right into a large room where an Arabic doctor in a large white robe was standing in the center. "Sit them down, and remain in the room until further instruction, thank you." The soldiers sat them down, one was on the doctors right, the other on his left. Dr. Azrael walked up to the man "Now, now i'm here to dismiss all your fears of going to the doctors office. I'm going to help make all those fallacies go away, all you need to do is be willing to compromise with me." The mans eyes light up as the doctor was in his face with a large needle. The Doctor walked behind them, rummaged through a closet and pulled out two large black sacs "Here we are." He put the sacs on the faces in unison, then stabbed the man in the neck with the syringe. "Ouch!!!" "Don't worry he's not going to die, we need him alive, but just barely. You know that was my car you two just blew up with your little escapade, I hope you two aren't disappointed with the outcome?" Dr. Azrael took off the woman's hood she stared him down "Why are you doing this?" Dr. Azrael looked at her and laughed, "I could ask you the same question, I'm a patriot, I have many services of which to serve The Sultanate all of which have been in demand ever since you christian sodomites have found it necessary to demote yourselves to an even lower life of suicide bombing" The woman looked at Dr. Azrael and screamed "You're nothing but a damn animal!" The Doctor made his way towards some equipment and picked up a scalpel "We are all animals beneath the skin, My father taught me that he was a butcher. He taught me that the flesh holds no secrets once the skin has been removed." Dr. Azrael pulled a pistol from the inside of his coat, "Your silence insults my intelligence, enough we know that you're Wanandan intelligence sent to spy on this facility" The woman's eyes light up with confusion "What you think we're working for the damn Wanandans your out of your mind." Dr. Azrael pistol slapped her "Enough! you may choose to tell me every operational detail of your mission what you know freely and without omission in which case you and your friend will return To Wananda to live out the rest of your lives in peace, however should you refuse neither of you will never leave this facility ever again." Dr. Azrael was staring at the woman while aiming a loaded gun at her. She stared into his eyes so full of hatred and fear, Dr. Azrael slowly walked closer towards her put his hand on her left cheek and forced the gun in her mouth. "I'm waiting." The woman pushed the pistol to side of her mouth and bite of his left hand's thumb off. On impulse Dr. Azrael fired a shot going through her left cheek, she spit his thumb out onto the floor in anger. Dr. Azrael's face was red with anger he looked at one of the guards in the corner "Take these two to research room eighteen, have them both injected with sodium pentathol then after they've spilled their secrets have this woman's teeth removed so she can no longer be a menace to society, and the man's fingers removed." Dr. Azrael left the

After Dr. Azrael was done stitching his thumb back on, he made his way for his office and phoned the minister of defence Salman Vahidi. "We have ourselves a problem. The Wanandans may have found out about what we've been doing in some of our research facilities." The line stayed silent for ten long seconds. "How much do you believe they may know?" Dr. Azrael looked up for inspiration "as of now we're not completely sure, they're currently facing more questioning" Dr. Azrael picked at his left thumb, then looked at his computer screen "However based on soil analysis from their shoes they could have successfully infiltrated two other facilities before they found their way to ours. We found traces of zinc and copper, The Talabani facility is known to have abnormal amounts of zinc due to the nearby dormant volcano Asosan, while we also found rather large amounts of calcite which can be found throughout the facility located within Hamanbelt Cave. General?" The General hung up the phone without responding, and started a conference call with Prime Minister Reza Asir and Sultan Al-Ahad Akir The Sultan hammered, "Why do think it's necessary to wake me up at this hour?" The Prime Minister responded "It wasn't me your majesty." The Minister of Defence interrupted "It was me it's a conference call, we have a problem." The Sultan questioned General Vahidi "How large of a problem are we talking about?" With a rather sterile like response General Vahidi states: "Two Wanandan spies were captured lurking around the facilities of Mount Doshavand. We believe they may have successfully infiltrated at least two facilities." Prime Minister Asir interrupted "You believe, on what grounds?" General Vahidi scoffed "I assure you we have enough sufficient evidence." Sultan Akir "Wait until tonight and move under the cover of darkness, attack them before they're able to launch an attack against us. If they've found out what we're doing in those facilities we should suspect nothing short of a bullshit liberation from the oppressors invasion. Due to our alliance with the Ionian Knights, and their alliance with the Great Majorcan nation this may blow up in our faces as a full scale world war if we don't play our cards correctly." Prime Minister Reza Asir spoke with a soft voice, "Do we really want to do all this?" "I don't believe we have much a choice." Said General Vahidi, "History is written by the winners, if we don't come out on top our citizens, our people, we won't be running our nation for at least another century." The Pm responded rather quickly "Yeah, I see your point." Sultan Akir questioned the general "How is the progress on our nuclear program, so long as they know we're working towards it and continue to make our goals some what public they may be hesitant to attack us." The General responded "Due to the world's views that you run the nation in a 'Draconian' manner we've run into quite a bit of road blocks, one of our nuclear physicist was beaten to death in his hotel room while studying abroad in Britcan. While our two nuclear power plants continue to come under cyberattacks almost daily. However we've successfully enriched uranium to more than ninety percent, ninety percent is what most most atomic bombs are made of, however at the current moment we're still missing other elements. The most we can do if things get harry is stage a test, with two hundred and fifty tons of C5 which needless to say would practically cost as much as the process we're currently going through to get an atomic bomb." Prime Minister Asir laughed "You cant be serious, you plan to blow what's left of our budget to literally set off an explosive display of our defence forces sambool?" General Vahidi laughed "Yes, I do I have to go gentlemen and ready the troops for tonight." Before the general hung up the phone The Sultan made one last statement "As-Salamu Alaykum, General see to it that our boys have a safe flight under the cover of darkness."

As the darkness of night approached the Syrakhstani Air Force stealth bombers were taking off from the Aircraft Carrier stationed in Syrakhstani waters. As the bombers made their slow descent into the outer south western province of Wananda they began to drop their payloads in the dark of night on the quiet villages of the province. It sounded as if thunder and lightning were pouring down from the skies. Two amphibious assault ships the NSS Sumahan and NSS Azermeni opened their doors six Sabra MBT battle tanks along with a wide array of infantry made their way out of the ships. Military general Nafgha Kafhali yelled "Weapons ready!" The hushed order filtered down the line of waiting soldiers. Quickly they charge from the beach with their weapons pointing forward. The soft wind breaking the still air of the morning. General Kafhali surveyed the area, checking for any problems that may arise. "Now remember ladies were to maintain a defensive stance in this province only. Move out!" The tanks climbed up the dunes of the beach, slow moving and heavy but well armored and destructive. Then, in the distance, the rhythmic blasts from the bombs being dropped overhead can be heard, accompanied by the sound of the tanks, the ground shaking as they grow closer. General Kafhali grew tense as he continued onward with his men out of the beaches inward to the towns and cities of Wananda, all eyes trained on the far end of the city. Then, the first of the enemy troops round the bend, marching in time, bold and unafraid they continue onward. General Kafhali, spoke quietly to the liutenant next to him "Okay, The fact that we were able to land on the beaches along with no hiccup is one for the history books. Don't you find it odd that we've yet to find any opposition in the least?" The liutenant looked at General Kafhali "I'm not completely sure I understand you sure?" General Kafhali started walking slower, "I'm saying either a. This is too easy or b. our government made up some phony reason to invade a pick at random nation, why the Wanandans and not the Nafistani's or Nakaharans is beyond me." Now The liutenant started walking more cautiouslessly with shifty eyes

After Syrakhstan's main assault the Wanandan nation and morning had broken Prime Minister Reza Asir sent a declaration of war to the Wanandan nation:

Parliamentary Declaration of War on Wananda

June 3rd, 2012

JOINT RESOLUTION Declaring that a state of war exists between The Parliamentary State of Wananda and the Government and the people of The Sultanate of Syrakhstan and making provisions to prosecute the same.

Whereas The Parliamentary State of Wananda has committed unprovoked espionage acts of war against the Government and the people of The Sultanate of Syrakhstan:

Therefore be it Resolved by the Parliament of The Sultanate of Syrakhstan in Council assembled,
That the state of war between The Sultanate of Syrakhstan and The Parliamentary State of Wananda which has thus been thrust upon The Sultanate of Syrakhstan is hereby formally declared;
and the Sultan is hereby authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of The Sultanate of Syrakhstan and the resources of the Government to carry on war against The Parliamentary State of Wananda; and, to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all of the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Parliament of The Sultanate of Syrakhstan.

Dr. Azrael immediately phoned General Vahidi "General, They're not Wanandan spies after all, they're members of a Christian terrorist group known as God's Sword the bombs were meant for the facility as a form of protest against the governments systematic purge of the christian faith from the nation." General Vahidi didn't say anything for several seconds, "It's too late for that, find a way to make them come across as Wanandan born what ever you have to do, just do it and do it now!" Dr. Azrael responded in a confused manner, "General, we cant truly do that, it's not scientifically possible either your born of a nation or you're not." General Vahidi laughed nervously, "Everyone is watching us right now Doctor, make me proud." The General hung up the phone without giving Dr. Azrael a chance to respond. Dr. Azrael made his way into research room eighteen. Once there he whispered into the guards ear that was standing by the doorway "The secret's already out, get me the Syrakhstan Central News Agency. While you're at it bring me a copy of a female and male Wanandan passports from our hall of international records." The man left the room, and made his way down Mount Doshavand to the capital city of Al-Riyadda to return with Wanandan passports from the mid 1980's before Syrakhstan enacted the closed door border policy, and the Syrakhstan Central News Agency.

Dr. Azrael was in the research room walking around the man and the woman both looked very different from beforehand. They were covered with burnt marks, the woman's teeth were removed however her cheek was stitched were the bullet wound was but the man's fingers had been cut off. "In a few moments, you two are going to be interviewed by the media. If you two say everything that I've written on this board not only will you two not die a slow and painful death from the pills, I gave you two earlier while you were unconscious. I'll give you two the antidote after the interview. Not only that I will see to it that you live out the rest of your lives in peace." The two shook their heads yes to the best of their ability and Dr. Azrael left the room for a minute or two then came in with two wheelchairs. "Get in" Dr. Azrael said softly, staring at them. The two got up barely able to stand and fell back into the wheelchairs. Dr. Azrael made his way for the room's doorway then poked his head out the doorway "We're ready for you now."

Men with cameras, and a reporter carrying a microphone rushed into the room, while the doorway guard followed. The man carrying the largest camera stationed it in the center of the room, While the woman with the microphone ran in front of him. The cameraman spoke to reporter "We're live on international air, in five, four, three, two," The reporter smiled into the camera "Good morning my fellow Syrakhstani's I'm Nadia Sharim with this breaking news report, Our government recently survived a terrorist attack from these Wanandan espionage agents." She stepped aside as the camera zoomed in on the two hikers. "The Wanandan spies, attempted to bomb the Mount Doshavand research facility which researches the many minerals and wildlife of Mount Doshavand." The Reporter walked over to the male hiker "What did you have to say for yourself?" The man began to cry, "We're deeply sorry for the actions of our government and, we hope that the kind and forgiving people of Syrakhstan can forgive us, our nation, and our government for our acts against your nation." The Reporter looked at them with disgust, then at Dr. Azrael "Dr. Azrael correct?" "Yes. " Dr. Azrael responded. "What information do you have on these two?" Dr. Azrael smiled, "They're Wanandan citizens, how they made their way into the nation is still a mystery. However they were carrying their passports with them, so I was luckily able to attempt help them after the parking lot bomb did it's fair damage to them. The woman is Catherine Faulter age 32, Catherine suffered a devastating blow losing all of her teeth, and shrapnel lodged at her back cheek while the fire caused some very bad burns and took the point where she's practically unrecognizable. While the man is Alexander Thomas age 28 due to his close proximity to the explosions his fingers were lost, and just like Catherine he has burns to the point where he's nearly unrecognizable as you can see his nose is practically gone. However we plan to send them to the nation's best hospital for treatment the Hassani Memorial Clinic in Al-Riyadda." The Reporter looked at the camera man, "Well there you have it, I'm Nadia Sharim with Syrakhstan Central News Agency until next time."

Admiral Jon Lewis stood around the monitor with is fellow Naval Cabinet members. For distinguished servitude during the Wanandan/Estovakian Naval conflict, he had been promoted to fleet admiral. The cabinet moved away from the Syrakhstani news report and convened around a blown up map of the Wanandan Mainland, Admiral Beckett Spoke first.

"They can't possibly get away with this! The fools put a couple of obviously tortured foreigners on TV, have them say they're acting on our government's orders, then proceed to bomb innocent towns while launching a full ground assault? Surely the international community wont stand for it!"

Lewis replied softly "Prime Minister Lemai has already contacted the Commonwealth ambassador in Teknaf. We will be pushing for a peace summit and possible cease fire agreement. We have also received word the the Dominion of Ashebourton will be sending aid to our ground forces as dictated by the Alliance Pact signed during the opening fases of this situation.

Becketts reply was not as tactful. "You cant possibly expect to wait around while some politician tries to negotiate a summit that probably wont go anywhere, knowing our regional politics. We have to act now in order for our Nation to be protected from those invaders!"

Admiral Lewis cooly replied. "Dont worry Admiral Beckett. Everything is perfectly fine. Gentlemen, do you remember last week when the Estovakian fleet moved to the eastern coastline to block possible expansion to unclaimed territory?" Several heads nodded. Lewis continued, "well as a result of this action, we were forced to move the 3rd and 5th fleets to the North and South Shores of Mainland. The Syrakhstani forces have established a beachhead on the southwest peninsula of the Nation. they seem to be trying to make their way towards Allenwood along the Crimson River, to the North, but details are sketchy at best. Now General Mede tells me that they are beginning to slow the progress of the invaders, and with the Ashebouton forces arriving, we wil surely hinder their progress. Now this move has left their rear very unguarded. The Syrakhstani Navy can hardly stand up to the might of Wananda's! The 3rd and 5th fleets will attack from the North and south, first taking out their aircraft carriers, as those have been their only air support so far. Once their ground forces have been cut off from their ships, we will blockade the entire peninsula so that no additional forces can arrive. Any that attempt will have to deal with us!

Admiral Niten of the office of Naval intelligence chimed in. "What about the situation in Syrakhistan? We have reports saying that there actually was a bombing at that facility. Apparently a Mercedes spontaneously combusted. We currently have spooks stationed at the unclaimed borders of the Sultanate. If we send them in we might be able to get down to the bottom of this."

Admiral Lewis took Niten into consideration. "Okay, but the operatives are only on an intelligence gathering objective. We dont want to actually get caught committing the crime we have been accused of. Now lets send orders to the fleets and take back our Nation!"

As the officers began activating terminals, picking up Radios, and issuing commands. The fleets did as they were told and by the end of the day, the Sea surrounding the Southwestern Peninsula was back in Wanandan hands.

Meanwhile, The
oni spook team was about to airdrop into Sykhiristan. They would get down to the bottom of whatever happened there, or die trying.

A mixed group of politicians, military leaders, experts on several of the Commonwealth nations and Britcan's King all sat around an old wooden table. They were at a highly classified underground military base in the northern part of Britoa province. The head of military intelligence, a tall man in his early 50s, was pointing to a large map of Wananda that was being shown on a large screen that was mounted on one of the walls. "As far as we can tell the Syrakhstani forces have gained a significant foothold in this area." The man said as a portion of Wananda's southwest lit up in red. "Our reports are, of course, sketchy but we have reason to believe that Wananda is beginning to organise it's resistance and are sending significant naval forces towards the Syrakhstani vessels as well as slowing down their ground forces." Blue arrows appeared, representing Wanandan forces. "I'm afraid that's all we really know, beyond what's already public knowledge." The man finished, taking his seat.

"Well ladies and gentlemen." Said the Prime Minister, George Leader, standing up from his seat. "You are all now up to speed on the situation so it's time to decide what the best course of action is." He looked around at the room, waiting for someone to speak. "It seems that the Wanandan forces are holding their own quite effectively. Can we not let them handle the situation themselves?" Asked the Minister of Defence. "I'm afraid not." Replied Julia Walsh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. "Syrakhstan is allied with Ionian Knights, arguably the strongest naval power in the region. Ionian Knights is also allied with Great Majorca. Wananda would never be able to stand alone against the two of them as you well know." The other minister nodded his head in grave agreement. "What of the other nations? Have any of them acted yet?" Asked the King, who had been keeping quiet up until that point. "The Dominion of Ashebourton has declared war on Syrakhstan." Answered the PM. "Other than that the other nations have been oddly quiet. We do, however, suspect that Nafistan will be unfortunately keeping neutral."

"It seems we must act then!" Said the King getting up from his seat and striding over to the computer that controlled the screen. "Any inaction would be an acceptance of what is happening." He said, pressing a few buttons on the computer. "We must help the people of Wananda." A map of the region appeared on the large screen. "Syrakhstan is concentrating on it's east at the moment as that's where all the fighting is happening. What they aren't expecting is to fight a war on two fronts. If we can attack from the east we will we take them by surprise and be able to reduce pressure on Wananda while they divert troops to deal with us." There was a brief moment of silence as the people in the room considered this idea. "We barely have the naval power to take on Ionian Knights at the moment. We can't divert ships from our southern coast. They'll be sunk and it will leave our coast vulnerable." Said one of the experts from the back of the room to a murmur of agreement. "There are areas of flat open grassland to the west of Syrakhstan. You could land planes there if you wanted to." Said the Minister of Foreign Affairs excitedly. "If we requisitioned some civilian planes we would be able to transport troops and equipment without putting too much strain on our airforce." Added the Minister of Defence to a load murmur of agreement. "Then, if there are no more objections, we have a plan." Said the PM clapping his hands together. "I think this meeting can be called over for now. One last thing: Prince James will be replacing our representative at the upcoming summit in Teknaf. This is officially due to our current representative falling ill so I will need you all to keep to that line if asked."

As the people began to file out of the room the King approached the Prime Minister. "George." He said seriously. "We will need allies in this fight and you know it." The PM sighed. "I know. I just can't think of anyone who would help us. Nafistan will remain neutral, Asheburton is already involved and Estovakia is too far away to be of any assistance. Who is there left?" The King smiled in response and gave a short one-word answer. "Kherkov." The Prime Minister looked around incredulously. "Kherkov? Hell would freeze over before they helped us." The King smiled slightly. "They don't want to see anyone except themselves build an empire in the region. Besides, there is a town in Northern Kiaca called Hell that is frozen over for almost half the year." He began to head towards the exit. "I'll send the letter myself." He said over his shoulder.

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

Prime Minister Mickaël Fournier paced nervously in his office at the Ministerial Estates in central Northpolopolis. It was late. Very late. On a normal day he'd be sleeping soundly in his mansard roof apartment with his wife already. But this was no normal day. Looking out the window, the city of 78 million slept soundly, the occasional biker passing by in the street or group of tourists coming out of a restaurant only to quickly find refuge underground in a subway station. War had begun within the Commonwealth Society and now it was his job to deal with it. Northpolistan hadn't known war for centuries and it had to knock on his door. There had to be a way to circumvent getting involved, but he couldn't find it. The large Neo-Baroque door creaked open. "Mr.Fournier, the car is ready to take you now," said a small man with large square frames.

"Thank you, Alexei, I'll find my way out to the front. Is the Minister of Defence waiting?" the PM answered in a quiet, obviously tired voice.

"Yes, both him and Ms.Krasinsky are already in the car, sir."

"Just tell them I'll be a minute." The small man stepped out, the door clicking back into place. PM Fournier walked to the window and cracked it open. He pulled a blue pack of cigarettes and a lighter from the inside of his sports jacket, pondering further how he would guide his nation and more importantly protect his people through this crisis. A few minutes later, already into his fifth cigarette, he left for the car downstairs, cigarette still in mouth. The car ride was silent as the Minister of Defence and the Speaker of Parliament both sat anxiously, awaiting any ideas from the PM, but he just kept on smoking, throwing butt after butt out of the window. The car rolled silently into the lane in front of the Parliament building, and the silence endured as the three politicians made their way toward the massive doors of the Beaux-Arts architecture building. The silence was quickly pierced as the three made their way into the main chamber of the edifice, the Parliamentary meeting chamber. Members of Parliament were agitated on all sides, each with their own fears of what was to come. The Speaker of Parliament, Helena Krasinsky quickly made her way to the central stand. "Order in the chamber!" Silence quickly fell and the members of the assembly quickly shuffled to their seats. "In accordance with the Constitution of the Unitary Parliamentary Socialist Democracy of Northpolistan, I declare this emergency meeting of Parliament opened. I now recognize Prime Minister Mickaël Fournier to give the opening statement. He will have a time not to exceed ten minutes." It all seemed so stupid to the PM. Why did there always need to be parliamentary procedure even in the face of such a crisis as this? Couldn't the government just cut to the chase sometimes? Nonetheless, he took the stand under the watchful eye of the entire Northpolistani legislature and ministerial cabinet.

"When I was elected, I didn't know that I would ever face a crisis this big. Northpolistan has only known one war, and that was when foreign invaders came in to our territory. We all know our history of pacifism, and I have always had every intention to keep it intact. But this crisis is bigger than just this nation; our entire community, the Commonwealth Society is at risk. That is why I have decided that Northpolistan must act, but not as a force of aggression, but a force of defence. Our cities, our towns, our farms, our valleys, our mountains, our seas, and most importantly our people will all be protected by strategic deployments of the armed forces across the countray in case the fight should ever find its way to us. We must be ready if worse comes to worse. Furthermore, I have seen images of the crimes against humanity occurring throughout Wananda. Civilians are being killed, and I do not doubt that this will spread further into the other nations affected as the fighting spreads. That is why I have decided that Northpolistan will send out humanitarian aid to protect civilians and rebuild villages throughout the affected countries, making no distinction in the side of the war that nation is fighting on. We must save those who are innocent! Tomorrow, with your support which I hope to earn tonight, I plan to send military personnel along with doctors to the war-torn nations."

That night, the resolution proposed by the PM was passed unanimously. Northpolistan would be a force of good in the war.

All across Estovakia 379,586,329 members of the Estovakian Armed Forces have been secretly mobilize since the start of the war the spring has been coiled and are awaiting orders. At the same time the Premier and the Politburo are deciding on matters at hand. The Marshals and Generals were in the War Room with the Holoprojector of the world, zooming in on key nations with intell including troop positions updated every second. Taking a look at all possible deployments. The South, south East and East Sector and their respective Armadas are now massing north of Wananda and west for a total of 6 Armada of 370 ships per Armada. This Armadas all together also include their own Amphibious forces of two hundred thousand , their target unknown. They wait in international waters while the Air Force and the Army along with their respective Airborne force remain in the Mainland. Besides the Army all of the Air Force is in the Air and ready to attack. All across the country everyone is getting ready for the War that might not come but will do their part, especially the police and Fire Companies.

A Separate Armada landed 100,000 Soldiers on the island between Wananda and Great Majorca. not claiming it but claiming it for Carcassonne of The Red Star Alliance.

I'm nervous. My mouth is turning dry as I try to think of what I have to say. I've done many of these, but not one like this. I guess we will see what happens.

"Your Highness, we are ready when you are."

Alright, here we go.

-The crowd goes silent as their Prince walks out onto the balcony of the Parliament building, over looking thousands of Ashebourtanian citizens.-

Thank you all for coming out in such dire times. I'm here today not as your Prince and head of state, but as an Asheboutanian citizen. As you may all already know, conflict has arisen to the east. Our brothers in the nation of Wananda have been declared war upon by Syrakhstan. A war brought upon by false allegations, human rights violations and a failure of diplomacy.

Last night, I called for an emergency session of Parliament to discuss the sudden events. As a result, Parliament has issued a declaration of war against Syrakhstan and pledged our military and logistical support in the defense of the Wanandan Island. At my discretion, members of the military have begun to mobilize for operations in Wananda and the seas surrounding it. Carrier Battle Groups have been ordered to provide naval assistance as needed, and aircraft of the Air Forces have begun to ferry troops to the area of operations. I can assure all of you, that we will counter these acts of aggression swifty and effectively.

Ashebourton cannot stand by idle and allow rogue nations to violate regional laws and policies, and that is why we must act now. As our veterans have done in wars before, we will fight and we will win. Thank you.

-The Prince steps off as the crowd erupts with applause.-

The king was a troubled man, recent events had him worried. War was upon the commonwealth, his nation was once the greatest of the region, her ships sailed far and wide and her colonies scattered in all corners of the globe. But then the great darkness, a period of isolation lasting centuries, a sleep from which we had just woken.

We have our alliance with Estovakia, they have spent much time and money equiping our forces to be the equal of any, Estovakian money had built schools, hospitals and roads but what the cost. Was Carcassone to be dragged into her first war in centuries?

King Darius sat with his advisors, "what news". Lord Salazar was his most trusted advisor spoke "The war in wananda continues, with Ashebourtons help there seems to be a stalemate, all eyes are now on the powers of Ionian Knights, Great Majorca and Estovakia to make their moves. There is also news from the island we call Ptolemaic, it appears Estovakian forces have raised our flag above the island. It seems this is an attempt to force our hand and make sure we live up to our promises of the red star pact"

The king was enraged and ordered all Estovakians expelled from the kingdom. Wait advised Salazar, "we took Estovakian gold, their advisors are attached to all military units, in our schools are teachers, I even passed a dozen Estovakian guards outside this palace. They have infiltrated all aspects of our nation. Expelling them could start a civil war.

Also sire is the issue of Syrakhstan. They were attacked, surely we must help them.

But what if he spoke a druj, a lie? The heads around the table shook, then spoke Salazar , if they bring war upon the commonwealth with a druj we will deal with him appropriatly. Our marksmen are very accurate and the sultan should enjoy his final few days. For now though we will take them at their word and offer any help we can.

A woman walked into the room, an aroma of perfume radiated from her, entoxicating all around her. Even though the men had seen the Queen many times her beauty still took their breath away. Everyone knew that while the King held all power, she would make the decisions. She walked to the king, without looking at anyone else, whispered in his ear and left. All the time she wore an expression, not a smile, not a snarl but a look men would do well to fear.

It is decided spoke Darius, we will reclaim our lost empire starting today. Send the rapid reaction force to Ptolemaic, advise the Estovakians that Carcassonne marches to war, the king followed his wife out of the room. The others followed. Finally Salazar was left with his personal advisor. Tarik, we must find out if this war is based on a lie. Arranged a small group of trusted soilders to investigate and report only to me, also send an envoy to Wananda and Ashebourton, we must keep all our options open. And Tarik, don't let anyone know what we are doing, this is for Carcassonne
But I am a generous King. I can make you rich beyond all measure. I will make you warlord of all the lands before you. You will carry my battle standard to the heart of the Commonwealth. Your rivals will kneel at your feet if you will but kneel at mine.

All that I require is this: a simple offering of earth and water. A token of your submission to the will of Carcassonne.

"This is Royal NBC News. I'm Amu Pates. Our top story this lunchtime. As the Syrakhstani and Wanadian war escalates, the Maharaj has issued a statement about the ongoing situation within the Commonwealth Society:"

"To the Peoples and Governments of The Commonwealth Society,

I must reiterate the core objectives of the international community are the peaceful coexistence of all Member States, embracing democratic governance, rule of law, accountability, equality, respect for human rights, justice and economic development.

I therefore express grave concern about reports of the hostile incidents occurring within the Commonwealth Society, including troop movements and I view the situation as a serious threat to international peace and security.

I urge that all parties cease military operations and put an end to the cycle of violence which will be inevitable if this is allowed to foster. I further urge that the Governments of Syrakhstan and Wananda take no action that would undermine the security and stability of the other and begin a dialogue to end the situation. I condemn any actions by any armed force or group aimed at destabilising the region or any Member State of the Commonwealth Society."

Psychotic Dictatorship

The Emperor took a long, deep, breath. Midway through breathing out, he pulled the trigger. The rifle fired and made a loud 'thump' as it hit the target. The Emperor smiled slightly before moving his sights onto the next target.

"My glorious Emperor! Sir!" The call came from the central palace building. I have important news, sir!" The Emperor put the rifle to safe and carefully placed it on the gun rack. "I hope so, Williams. For your sake." Williams gave a shaky reply. "y... Yes, sir. It is a letter from the King of Britcan himself, sir." The Emperor raised an eyebrow in interest. "Oh, I see. Well, bring it to me." The Emperor scanned the message carefully. "Ah, this is about Syrahkstan and Wananda... Get the heads of the Imperial Court online. I must speak to them."

"A prime opportunity, your highness." said the Defence Secretary-Minister, Fyodor Dimich."I concur." agreed the First Minister, William Halovan. The Secretary Of The People nodded his head in agreement. "Hold on, comrades!" Exclaimed Aleksandr Curcek, the Grand High Treasurer. "Think of the cost! We must build the economy more, and then strike!" The four began to debate.

"Silence!" boomed the Emperor. "I make the decisions. Not you four. Now, we are going to assist Britcan. I respect Syrahkstan's aggressive attitude, but we cannot have them building their own little Empire. Also, we must improve relations with our neighbour to the west. We've got the military capability, so let's help Britcan. We can build up our Empire at the same time."

"Excellent decision, sir." said the First Minister. "Although, Syrahkstan does have an alliance with the Ionian Knights and Great Majorca, sir. Together they make a powerful force." "But we have an advantage, Halovan. Our special forces can conduct effective raids. We can use our air force at an advantage over the Ionian Knights. As for Great Majorca, well, there's always the meat shield of Ashebourton and Britcan." The Emperor rubbed his hands together and smiled. "Gentlemen, see to it that you declare war on Syrahkstan and mobilise our armed forces to open the second front. Now, I have some targets to shoot. Good day, gentlemen."

Official Communique to the King of Carcassonne.
From: Premier Volowski D. Smirnov

Your Majesty we just received your letter, I apologize but as cleared in the charter this war has compromise our trade rout and we must act. There for I sent Soldiers to take the unclaimed land and raised both our flags. Now I'm sure you have notice but we have no clear enemy and there for we must investigate every possible option. I believe there is something puling the strings in the back, were those spy really from Wananda? Kestrel is our version of the NSA's Third Echelon Splinter Cells they are in the respective countries looking for what we want. Please move cautiously your Majesty, I apologize again for this. We train your men well and they showed that they got what it takes.

For Honor, Country, and for The Red Star Alliance.

Admiral Soverov had his Armada of 370 ships and 500 Warplanes from the numerous supercarries on a petrol around the island. General-Colonel Kapalking was on his Mountain Fortress located in the middle of the Island that commanded a great view of all of the island with a garrison of 100,000. He just received word that their brothers the Carcs are sending a force. Kapalking remembers training them and spoke highly of the Warriors know as the Carcs by the Estovakians.

Both the Admiral and the General were waiting for their friends. Many dont know but each Fleet is accompany by 10 Wolf packs of Hunter-killer submarines which total at 50 subs per Armada. Their is one Fleet though off 100 Hunter killers patrolling the officially claimed island with 10 Boomers. Hunter-Killers can lunch cruise missiles but Boomers payloads are Nuclear for deterrence against another nation that might use Nukes. Besides Estovakians like facing there enemy on the battlefield, using nukes to destroy whole armies has no honor nor the glory of combat, but other nations have different opinions.

The Sultan was in his office in the Capitol building located smack dab in the center of the capital city of Al-Riyadda. He was messing through files his beard was all shuffled and his turban was practically falling off. The Foreign Minister Saud Al-Salehi opened the door to the Sultan's office, "Your majesty? They're ready for us outside." The Sultan looked at the Foreign Minister his face full of distress "Get out!" He screamed as he threw a rather well sized book at Al-Salehi whom luckily was used to such things and evaded it with ease. Closing the door Al-Salehi spoke with the Minister of Defence general Vahidi, and Prime Minister Asir outside the Sultan's office "He's not quite ready, just now" Al-Salehi said with a smile. A yell bellowed from the Sultan's office "God forsaken, imperialist pigs they're supposed to be on our side! We were attacked first!" You could hear books flying, and then suddenly a vase smashed.

Prime Minister Asir was giggling and looked at Foreign Minister Al-Salehi "That's the fourth vase he's broken this year." General Vahidi looked at the Prime Minister with such stone cold emotion and back slapped his face "This isn't funny." The door to the sultan's office door opened his turban was unraveled went all the way back to his desk, he was covered in dust and shreds of paper. He looked at the three gentlemen and said "Let's make this quick." The Sultan said as he cleaned himself up tying his turban up. The four of them exited the building to the staircase of the Capitol building which was more than two stories tall, the Sultan was scheduled to deliver a speech to the nation in regards to the war. As the sultan exited the building, crowds began to cheer and military men stationed on the stairway saluted the Sultan, then three fighter jets flew over the Capitol building as he neared the podium. "The nation's finest your majesty." General Vahidi roared to Sultan Akir "Although our navy's not the pride of the seas of the commonwealth, i'll be damned if anyone tries to fight our Air force." The Sultan looked at the General and smiled, the walked up to the podium "Two days ago, a conspiracy of pitiful, corrupt nations showed their true form for whom war is a welcome means to bolster their economy. They're the international poison of the commonwealth their people due nothing but agitate against and to corrode healthy minds of true hard working citizens. Believe me, my fellow citizens I feel an inner disgust at these unscrupulous annihilators of peoples and states. It was not my ambition to wage war but to build up a new state of the highest culture, and every day, every minute of war takes me away from this work. And the cause of this robbery is those ludicrous nations whom absolutely no one could at best call natures political run of the mill! Prince Espinosa of Ashebourton launched his war in a playing field he believes he's rather strong at to his demise we've got the Ionian Knights to level the naval playing field." The crowds began to cheer incessantly. The Sultan tried to get a word in, "I promise you all that the continuation of this war will end only in the complete shattering one of the two warring parties, they may believe it to be Syrakhstan, I know it to be the Wanandan nation" the sultan said as he shook his head back forth and right fist vibrantly in the air!

The Sultan and the other three gentlemen made their way down the stairs to a limousine that waiting in the crowd. With the crowd still cheering General Vahidi looked at the The Sultan "You better hope we can deliver all those promises." Foreign Minister Al-Salehi was looking out the window "Nationalism can at points be a far greater weapon than any loaded gun General. You just need to know how to use it." The Sultan looked at Prime Minister Asir "You're unusually quite, what do you think?" The Prime Minister looking through the sunroof could still see the contrails from the fighter jets "I think every one including the opposition is rushing into all this to quickly we live in a time where the world can be annihilated with the push of a couple buttons and in peace time everyone's trying to own one another economically the world's never at peace everyone needs to take a step back." The Sultan looked at the Prime Minister "Stop the car." The limousine came to a halt on the highway just outside the airport, "Get out, Reza you're too soft for this if we're going to get anywhere in these talks we can't have a weak link in our chain." The Prime Minister slowly got of the limousine and stood out the stretch of highway watching the limousine as drove away.

As the limousine entered airport driving up to The Sultan's Plane a modified A380 Airbus a lieutenant walked up to General Vahidi and whispered in his ear. "Thank you, lieutenant." The three made their way into the plane and once inside General Vahidi said "If the two of you would be willing to follow me I've got something I need to show you to in the war room during take off." "Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking my name is Mahmoud Hassani it's my pleasure to welcome you aboard Al-Riyadda Air Force One, we ask that you find your seats and keep your seat belts fastened during take off." The three of them quickly made their way to the war room were they fastened their seat belts. As the plane took off General Vahidi turned on a projector "Now not only are we facing the Wanandans, and Ashebourtanians. The nation's of Britcan and Kherkov have just made it known that they won't stand for what we're doing. While Northpolistan wishes to play peace keeper and lend a helping hand to both sides. The Estovakian's and the Carcassonnians haven't truly chosen a side as of yet however if we show that we're willing to help them gain the trade in the south western area of the map highlighted here they may be willing to bend. However the Ionian Knights are interested in the area as well and keeping them happy is needless to say a priority." Foreign Minister Al-Salehi looked at the board "Do you think it's possible to persuade Kherkov to back down with possible threats of an embargo they're small in comparison, or diplomatic and economic sanctions." The Sultan interrupted the foreign minister "No, no they're economy is doing just fine it would take years to do any damage, instead we offer them an olive branch into this world of ours a permanent discount on oil. So long as the Sultanate stands, they will receive twenty five percent off should they choose to remain neutral and fifty percent off should they choose to join us." The seat belt light in the war room turned off, and General Vahidi got up "That may, I repeat may work. However not everyone can be bought." He said as he looked at the map predicting possible outcomes of the war. The Sultan looked at General Vahidi "Do you believe the Great Majorcans will aid the Ionian Knights should they ask for help?" The General looked at Great Majorca, "I do, however they don't see this as their war and won't act until it's completely necessary the fact that we're an ally of an ally doesn't truly mean much to them. They wouldn't think twice about throwing us to the dogs to save themselves."

The Sultan sighed, "That's sadly what I expected, simply just what I didn't want to hear. Now what about our boys on the south western province of Wananda." The General pressed a button on a remote and the projector changed to a detailed aerial photograph of the province, "They're maintaining. Besides two base camps, a camp have been set up to detain any citizens that resist the occupation along with high ranking Christian citizens such as priests and putting them to work towards towards the war effort. Shells, weaponry, clothing, farming. While the Ashebourtanian Navy, and Wanandan navy has yet to arrive, and there's no sign of the Wanandan military as of yet. The province is even small enough to build a border wall if we truly wanted to, in the long run that'd turn out to be a wast of material because let's face bricks verse tank, tank wins." The Sultan looked on at the map, "Where does Britcan and Kherkov factor in?" The Sultan zoomed out, "Ah, we predict they're going to try to open up a new front, attacking our border western oceanic border however as of yet we haven't seen any movement. They'll have to cross the Doshavandic mountains, and the Dahna desert to get anywhere near the capital city, luckily and sadly we were blessed with such unforgiving landscapes." A small beep was heard over the intercom system "Ladies and Gentlemen we'll be landing in Teknaf national airport in approximately five minutes." The Sultan looked at General Vahidi "Let's wrap this up." Foreign Minister Al-Salehi looked over at the Sultan, "I believe it's my turn actually, although the Nafistani's are choosing to remain militarily neutral they don't have to remain economically neutral relations with them date back as far as Sultan Rupert Hassani more than four hundred years and if you're able to get a moment alone with the Maharaj I urge you to find a way to get some sort of economic aid if you're not able to do that find a way to make us their number oil supplier no matter what the cost. So if we don't come out on top in the end, they don't want to see us get too damaged." As the plane began to make it's decent the three men who were holding their nation's future in their very hands, began to make their way for the exit the Sultan looked the men "This is it boys. No going back after this."

Admiral Thao walked into the main chamber of the palace meeting up with Gordon as they headed down the "all too familiar" hallway leading to the king's private study. Thao sighed and shook her head as she looked at Gordon and said "I grow tired of all this instability." Gordon stopped for a moment and replied "but I can think of no one else that could lead this nation through turmoil better than you..." Gordon always had a slight crush on the admiral and her position of influence and power only strengthened those feelings.

The two entered the private study and the king was already waiting for the two of them. Before they could run down the list for briefing he said "something is not right here. Syrakhstan is quite agressive in it's stance with Wananda and we can not let two nations so close to Great Majorca destabilize the region. The Syrakhstanis have ignored our requests for further information." The king paused for a moment and drew a cigar from the top drawer of his desk. He looked closely at the drawer and looked at Gordon and Thao and asked them if they wanted one. Thao chuckled and replied "not unless you have a glass of wine your majesty."

The king drew a couple of puffs from his cigar and continued to speal "I don't trust the Syrakhstanis any further than I can throw them. We must show them we mean business. Send the 9th, 16th, 101st fleets into the waters between Syrakhstan and Wananda and make our presence known. Warn all nations involved we will be patrolling the skies between the two nations and any attempts to take action against our military will result in swift and brutal retaliation." The king picked up a picture of his daughter who has almost completely recovered from her injuries while attending a conference in Ionia."Prep additional forces and raise DEFCON as I do not see this ending pleasantly. We will be forced to chose sides and when the time comes I want to be ready."

Thao stood at attention and Gordon affirmed the kings orders and the two exited the room.

Ankora was ablaze, both figuratively and literally. The Revolution that was sweeping the nation by storm only made things worse for the Council of Twelve, the main men of the nation. With Sophia William as regent until her son, George William, was old enough and able minded enough to be in the position of Grand Master, chaos was thick in the air. Soon, one of the Twelve, the Foreign Minister, spoke, "Syrakhstan has declared full out war on Wananda and it seems that alliances are in full swing." He then stood and walked over to the Regional map they had on the wall, behind Sophia's seat at the head of the table in the conference room they were in. The Region has condemned the action and now, we have a three sided war on our hands, which with we still have our cards and chips on the table." He then looked at the group. "We lost our footing when the rebels started to show." a finger pointed at the small island, the island Estovakian forces were on. "And our intel shows the Communists have it now, though in the name of their forced ally, Carcassonne." Then the Army Chief of Staff look at his Naval counterpart and they both nodded. "We both think that sending some military aid to our ally is the best interest, for now." This is where the Foreign minister laughed. "You didn't let me finish. We have Britcan, Ashebourton and Kherkov all declaring war on our ally." This was received with hushed murmurers from the 11 other men there, and Sophia. The Grand Master spoke, with a soft and delicate voice, made by years of sealing diplomatic agreements. "Then in my opinion, we must wage war..." she said. "Or else we're going to be dealing with the Majorcans on one side of the region, and us on the other, with hostiles all over us." She had put her foot down, and the two military chiefs nodded their agreement to the new plan. "We shall prepare an invasion fleet for Britcan, AFTER we put down the rebellious swine." the Naval Chief. "If we can't hold Ionia together, how can we hold back a war?" As soon as the meeting was called to adjourn, the army was swiftly deployed against the rebels, attacking any and all suspected rebels. It was a long process with many dead civilians, but it had to be done in order to hold back the heretical ideas of democracy and free thought.

From the personal journal of Sgt. Zhukov:

"3h30: I and my entire regiment were awoken abruptly late in the night, around thirty minutes ago. We were to quickly prepare our affairs for deployment to the nations of Wananda by order of Parliament and the Prime Minister. Apparently, they had passed legislation to quickly provide foreign aid to those affected by the recently declared war. I am glad we won't be fighting. I have prepared my bag and have my uniform on and ready. We will be briefed on the way over to Wananda about our duties abroad. I called my girlfriend and parents to tell them not to worry. Currently, I am sitting on the bus. Pvt. Hummel sleeps on my shoulder. We are being taken into Česn and from there we will take the first train to the coast from where we will be deployed in planes."

"4h50: We left Česn twenty minutes ago. I am tired but nervous. I've never been deployed out of the country or taken part in any action that wasn't an exercise as part of training. Nobody has. Nonetheless, we are ready. We had to make a detour south to the capital. The train made it there in under ten minutes. Our high-speed rail is top notch, I must say. Currently, a few train cars are being unloaded of military equipment to defend the capital in case the war should find its way to Northpolistan. Large anti-aircraft guns are being placed in cities across the nation early this morning, Colonel Schwitters tells us. Our government is ready to protect its citizens; that's for sure. Doctors are filling our wagon, now, each ready to do his or her part in the humanitarian effort."

"6h40: It took the train another hour to get unloaded and another fifty minutes to make it to Obwohl on the coast. On the way over we were briefed. We're to protect the civilian population in the zones being bombed, build temporary shelters, allocate food, water, and clothing, give medicine and medical attention to the sick or wounded, a typical humanitarian mission. My regiments planes depart in ten minutes. They're having us wait in the train until the plane is fully ready and on the runway to get us out to it. I suppose they're giving us time to gather our thoughts."

"9h00: My regiment and I have just been parachuted in with the crates of supplies. The two hours in the plane felt like an eternity. Occasionally we would pass a Syrakhstani plane in the skies, and a few thought that it was the end and that we were going to be shot out of the sky. The pilots, however, were quick to say that we had full airspace clearance from the governments of both Syrakhstan and Wananda. 'They won't shoot unless we do,' they'd say constantly. Those planes are on their way back home already to pick up more supplies and men to bring. Two kilometres out is a bombed out village, and we are mobilizing toward it fast. The walk should only take us a few minutes."

"11h30: The regiment passed out food and water this morning to the civilian population. Currently, many of them are setting up tents and cots for families and other individuals. The priority, however, was mounting and setting up the large medical tent. Amputations had to be performed on many with dangerous pieces of shrapnel in their limbs. For some, we arrived too late. Even for children. War is a monster. I can already see that, and I am not even fighting it. Fortunately, the greater majority of the population is unharmed. The houses and buildings are destroyed. The children were quick to bond with us, and they are intrigued by our equipment. I am enjoying lunch with some of the local children and my men. Their faces lit up at the sight of the chocolate bars in our rations, and we were quick to share. The language barrier is unfortunate. I only speak Northpolegasque and Russian which none of the locals speak."

"21h40: We are finally back at the village after a long day. Right after lunch, my men and I were assigned the task of sweeping a five kilometre radius for any un-exploded shells or bombs to see if they needed to be neutralized. It was difficult work, but luckily we only found one shell. These Syrkhastani shells are very modern though and require much work to be dismantled. That is why we spent an hour of the day working with it. The bombings have picked back up in the surrounding country. We have set up a perimeter demarcated by red spotlights to keep Syrkhastani bombers away with the help of newly arrived men. Dinner was quick, and we are eager to sleep after the early wake up. Tomorrow, it's back to work. We will probably have to mobilize to help newly bombed towns."

Postby Great Majorca » Wed Jun 06, 2012 7:29 pm

Crowds cheered as the the kings motocade made its way down the three mile road that separated the palace from parliament. Marek was troubled but waved to the people lining the streets. It was a very unusual occurence that the king addressed parliament and entered its hallowed chambers.

The motocade pulled up to parliament and a sharply dressed military officer saluted and opened the door of the limo. Marek stepped out and was immediately greeted by the prime minister and the two made their way into parliament.

Marek waitied outside the PM's private entrance as Gordon entered the chamber and the quickly the MP's grew silent adn took their seats. Gordon announced "honorable members of parliament and distinguished members of the senate. HRH Marek I." All senators and MP's rose and gave the king a standing ovation. Marek nodded to acknowlege the greeting and urged the joint session to be seated.

Marek began to explain the situation which was currently unfolding between Syrakhstan and Wananda. He spelled out how Great Majorca was now becoming involved because of what seemed like evidence of persecution of a religious group being disguised as a a terrorist attack or espionage. Marek asked that if the time should arise that he would have to commit forces to active military action that the parliamentary body would support his decision. Jeers broke out but were soon overpowered by cheers of affirmation.

As the Cabinet Members gathered around once more, Admiral Lewis returned to the table from a phone call with the Prime-Minister.

"I have just received word that I am to accompany the Prime Minister and his cabinet to the Peace summit in Teknaf." After seeing some disdained looks from his fellow admirals he deliberated, "There is supposed to be a cease-fire agreement, so you wont have to worry about me being out. Now on to the Business at hand. We need to figure out a plan of Action."

Admiral Backett began explaining the current situation. "General Mede seems to have the ground Situation in check now. Advancements on both sides seems to have stopped completely. Now that Ashebourton has lended us aide, we may have a chance to reclaim our lost territory. As for the Naval situation in the west, The 3rd and 5th fleets have successfully cut off the Enemy ground forces from any Naval assistance, however we were unable to deter their current Naval presence, only shoot down a few of their jets from their carriers. Every time we caught them on radar, the slipped away. Now apparently Britcan and Kherkov have agreed to aide our cause. There are rumors that they will start a war on a second front but they may well just come here and help. Reports are unclear on that. Now this will really get you going sir. The Estovakians and Carrcassones have laid claim to that nice little island to our east."

At that Admiral Lewis's face grew red. They what?! Thats ridiculous! We were in the running for that island. I'll have a few godamm things to say at the Peace Summit for sure on that one!"
Lewis gathered himself for a moment then apologized. "Sorry everyone, got a little carried away there. Anything else Beckett?"

"Well we have had several disturbing reports about civilian activities in the occupied region. Enemy forces out down anyone who s]dare oppose them and put any and all christians to work, helping in their war effort."

Niten commented, "that has to be against some international law or another?" Lewis replied, "The Commonwealth society hasn't had a slightly formal meeting since the Barsahlevoro conference, and you know how that turned out? Nothing happened, and everyone left out of shear spite. Thats what makes me worried about this conference. If we dont get down to the meat of the matter quickly, we may not have a country to save. We need to get something done that prevents things like this from happening."

Beckett Continued. "With the Great Majoricans and Ionians siding with Syrakhstan, we may not be able to hold out as long as we thought. However, we have heard that the Ionians are not taking well to their old land being taken by the TRA."

"The knot gets more tangled." said Niten,

Lewis began, "We need a clear plan of action here. The Ashebourtons are sending an entire combat fleet to help blockade the west coast. They should be arriving within the next few hours, so send word to 5th fleet to detach half of their ships to blockade the east coast. The 7th fleet is currently in port in Bowerstone and should be combat ready soon. Send them to Blockade the entire area from the east coast of Wananda to the West coast of great Majorica, Across the southern part of the island. If the TAR want to play dirty, so will we. Niten, how is the ONI team doing."

Nit stated, "They have successfully air-dropped into the country. They have been tracking local news and have been trying to track down the beginning of these events. They have gathered that the Sultan and his entourage have already left for the Peace summit. They plan on surveying the area of the "attack" and to try and find out what transpired there, but first wish to take a hostage for questioning."

Lewis replied, "very good." Lewis checked his watch and then said to the cabinet, "I'm afraid I have to leave with the Prime Minister now. Dont you people worry, I have a few tricks up my sleeve for the summit. In the meantime, stick to your orders and adapt if the situation changes. Try to go through with all of our goals before the cease-fire is called."

With that he left the Admirals and made his way towards the Prime-Ministers Secretary of State in the adjacent room.

Smirnov was in the Premier plane that was more like an airborne fortress with a squad of Spetsnaz and a War Room where Smirnov is currently located. He read and saw on the holoprojector that one of our Army Groups have taking the island and has noted a rebel force there. So far they have not attacked but the Etovakians are on high alert just in case. Smirnov then sent a message to the Carcassonne King if he is coming to the Summit. If not I will take care of things, at best we can aid Wananda if they give us half of the island to Carcassone. I wish I could give my friend the whole island but at best half is better then nothing. That island is of importance to The RSA.

==MILITARY REPORTS==
6:23 - The Northern Fleet - North of Kiaca
Operation Northern Wall completed: The entire Northern Sea between the mainland and impassable ice sheet has been successfully mined. We have the Northern Fleet on constant patrol to watch for any attempt to break through.

7:29 - RBS Valour, RBS Honour and RBS Strength - South of Asheburton
Operation Spear Tip underway: The three requested amphibious assault ships are on course to Syrakhastan. Once landing has taken place we will open the way for operation Battle Axe as soon as possible.
====

King Matthew II read over these two reports. "Everything is in place then. Give the order." The massager saluted and hurriedly left the room. Minutes later planes all over Britcan were preparing for an ambitious surprise attack. They were planning to use their clear arial advantage over the Ionians to knock out the most powerful fleet in the region. The time that the planes took of would be staggered with those further north starting first. This meant that the dozens of planes would converge on Ionian Knights at the same time to eliminate as much of their great navy as possible while they we still preoccupied by the uprising. 72 Panavia Tornados in six twelve-plane squadrons took off from air fields around Britcan, aiming for the Ionian naval bases. A second wave of the same number of Eurofighter Typhoons would follow a few minutes after.

The first wave reached it's target. They launched missiles at the Ionian ships and their supporting infrastructure. The explosions from the ground were accompanied by several Britcani planes being plucked from the sky by surface-to-air defences. After a short time the planes turned back for Britcan and for a few minutes the air was clear. The Typhoons reached the same bases, launching missiles at the ships and infrastructure that seemed to have been left relatively unaffected. They too turned back after a short while, with several less planes than when they arrived.

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

Near SW Nakahara.

Fleet Marshal Sovastepol survey his Armada, two in in fact. 740 ships that were station in Carcassonne have begun to approach the Syrak Coast line , ahead of them was a Syrak Navy. Send them a message, we are here to guard your southern coastline comrade. By that time all 400 fighters and fighter-bombers were in the air to provide security.

Western Wananda.

Fleet Marshal Tokorov survey his Armada of 740 ships that is now 20 miles from the Syrak Fleet and the main Beach Landing. Message to Syrak Fleet: Comrades we are hear to help sorry for the wait but we have decided. By that time all 400 fighters and fighter-bombers were in the air to provide security.

Meanwhile 2 Airborne divisions with 300,000 soldiers, one heading to Front A and the other was going to Front B. At the same time escorted by 100 fighters and 100 fighter-bombers. Half way Across the Ocean past Zerragon Air Space were 200 fighters 100 fighter Bombers and 100 Heavy bombers of stealth and regular heavy bombers heading to IK, the Fighters and F/As were to provide security for the Ionian fleet that badly needed it, the rest were going to land in Ionia to refuel. By now they were only 10 miles from the Ionian fleet.

All the fighters and fighter-bombers were of the new 5th Generation T-50 PAK FA stealth fighters and the Heavy bombers half are Tu-160s stealth supersonic Bombers and the other half are Tu-95 Bears. The Transport planes with the Airborne troops are that of the worlds largest plane, the An-124.

Darius was sitting alone in his chambers, what had happened at the meetings. Had he really agreed to war! Yes he had millions of men in the armed forces, yes the force had been revolutioned by Estovakian equipment and tactics. He pictured the new Krivak class frigates and the T-50 PAK FA planes. He had no doubt Carcassonne could hold her own but was he really willing to sacrafise milliions of his countrymen for a war far away. Protecting the trade routes was important but was it worth so much blood. Estovakia had claimed the island for the alliance and if this was as a procaution to protect ourselves then they would have our eternal thanks but could trade be guaranteed by another method.

His advisors had disussed the "Singapore Compromise" This was a mythical land where one power had annexed a smal part of the land to ensure shipping routes while the rest could be left to others.

He was not used to such doubt, he was a strong leader but he had never faced such a decision before.

There was indeed a lot to discuss at the conference. He looked forward to discussions with King Matthew II of Britcan and Volowski D Smirnov of Estovakia. Maharaj Nabil I always ofered sound advise. The challange would be Wananda and the Ionians, can a compromise be reached with all parties claiming the land. And what of Syrakhstan, had a lie started this war, if so the decision would be easy.

Only the rapid reaction force had been deployed so far to the island, and then with a mandate of non agression unless fired upon. All other forces remaine on high alert in Carcassonne.

He boarded his Flying Cloud accompanied by his wife Helene and trusted advisor Salazar, the trip to Nafistan would give him time to think

The crowd cheered as the Emperor walked onto the balcony. The military presented arms and then proceeded to salute. This made the crowd cheer even more. Kherkovian citizens had always been, perhaps , the most nationalist in the region, and one could tell that they accepted every word of the Emperor's speech.

"My people, today is a glorious day! Our mighty military has begun the march to war!" At the word 'war' , the crowd applauded and cheered again, and then fell deathly silent for the next part of the Emperor's speech. "The Syrahkstanis seek to punish Wananda for an alleged attack. This is not true my friends! We suspect the attack was performed by a terrorist group, not Wananda! And so, Britcan declared war on Syrahkstan, and asked for our assistance. We have accepted their proposal. Our plan is to open a second front! We will crush Syrahkstan and build our empire, comrades! Imperii surgere!" And the crowd gave one last mighty roar as the Emperor left the balcony.

"My leader!" Williams was calling again. "Message from the Sultan. He's given us a very lucrative offer." "I'll be the judge of that, Williams." replied the Emperor. "Hmm. This certainly is, well, lucrative. Unfortunately, I have just told the people that we are going to war for their glory, and to punish Syrahkstan. If we pull out or, worse, join Syrahkstan, I'd be seen as weak. Our Empire must grow also, and the oil fields of Syrahkstan will be a good addition to our empire. Send a message to the Sultan. Decline his offer utterly."

Soon after Williams went to write the reply, the Emperor was invited to a conference call. He went to the conference room and turned on the large screen. "Good morning, gentlemen. What news do you bring?" The first to talk was the Lord of the Admiralty, Henry Cornwallis. "Britcan have used their air force to attack the Ionian Knights, sir." "I'm sure they will retaliate." Responded the Emperor. "Not quite, sir. There's a rebellion at the moment. As you can imagine, this has hindered them quite a bit." The Emperor rubbed his hands together. "Excellent. Can we send weapons or money to the revolutionaries?" The Lord Field Marshal shook his head. "I'm afraid not, sir. We have a few spare Lee Enfield rifles. But we must focus our main efforts on Syrahkstan." The Defence Secretary-Minister began to speak. "What if we use our special forces? They're one of the best in the region, and if not that, THE best. They can disrupt enemy lines, destroy bases, etc. The rebels can do the rest. They may not win the revolution, but with our help, it can be prolonged." The Emperor smiled. "Good work, Dimich. And I'm sure we could send a few military advisors, eh Lord Field Marshal?" He nodded. "Good. Well, we'll help the rebels in any way we can. The war with Ionia has begun. Good luck to us all."

Mirza Sarwar Imam, the Advisor for Foreign Affairs, rubbed his eyes as he read report after report on the situation engulfing the Commonwealth Society. "Bloody hell." He whispered under his breath. He understood the Maharaj's belief in isolationism especially after previous occurrences. The Maharaj had no appetite for an international excursion. The acts by the other states do not directly effect the Rajjoutho and so we shouldnt care. This, Imam knew, was the wrong attitude. He whole heartedly agreed that neutrality should remain on the table but what the Maharaj proposed is basically ignoring the issue. Whether the Maharaj liked it or not, Syrakhstan is the Rajjoutho's neighbour and therefore any hostile action against her will inevitably spread somehow towards Nafistan. Either through refugees pouring over the border or heaven forbid an attack on Nafali personal. Imam got up from his chair and began making his way out of the Advisory for Foreign Affairs to the Commonwealth Society Parliament. The emergency session was called by Wananda and was being attended by a number of high ranking officials of the Commonwealth Society's member states. He and the Maharaj would personally go to represent the Rajjoutho. As he walked out he was greeted by a minor official with another report. "My Mirza, Mirza Arif Hossain of the Advisory of Defence has been told by the Maharaj to begin secret mobilisation of the Royal Maharaj's Guards (RMG) along the border with Syrakhstan as a precaution. The 8th and 9th divisions are moving up as well as the 4th fleet around the bay." Imam nodded and took the report from his junior. He entered his carriage flanked by four lancers of the RMG, and begun the trek to the regional Parliament.

The Maharaj meanwhile was already at Parliament and ready to great those who would attend. He was very nervous as he knew that this session could ensure an avoidance of war. The Maharaj had no appetite for war but knew that it was better to be safe and mobilise the RMG. Modernisation of the RMG began in the reign of his father and had continued during his own reign. The RMG was a not a large force but one that had ample experience. Hopefully however the RMG will not be needed. Even if the discussions broke down the Maharaj wanted the Rajjoutho to be kept out of the war. He knew that he would begin economic sanctions to those all parties who are at war even though the loss of this trade would reduce the Rajjoutho's own economy. Regional trade will suffer greatly but this would be a clear sign of the Rajjoutho's intentions. Condemnation of violence followed by sanctions is what the Maharaj had in mind.

The Prime Minister took his morning cigarette in the street in front of the train station. The car that picked him up at his apartment after another sleepless night already held the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Akash Ghosal, and the Minister of Defence, Pascal Mirandola. The trip to the station had been spent in silence between the men, the only sound being the morning news on the radio droning on and on about different mobilizations of different armies and offensives and resistance. The Prime Minister threw his butt in a nearby public disposal basket and was about to light up a second cigarette when Ghosal stopped him. "I'm afraid there's no time, Mickaël. We must be in Teknaf early to meet with our ambassador there before the summit." The three men made their way into the station unguarded. Northpolistan had been crime-free for years. What a beautiful culture, the three men thought. But they knew all too well what war had the capacity to bring into their beloved nation. The three boarded the high-speed rail train, Nafistan only three hours away, Teknaf four and a half. That's when business began. The three began formulating their plan to try to help negotiate peace for the region. In what had seemed like a mere thirty minutes of nervous discussion, the sound of the conductor's voice came on the train's PA: "Welcome to Teknaf. Please have your passports and other immigration documents ready." The three men were quickly attended to by a specially sent security team from the Nafali government, here to protect all diplomats. The drive to the embassy took a solid half-hour, but Adirake Lim, the Northpolistani ambassador in Nafistan was eagerly awaiting them. "Mr.Fournier, an honour again, sir. I've been following our humanitarian activities in Wananda closely. The men and women seem to be doing a smashing job!" The Prime Minister quickly answered, "Please, we're all friends here! Call me Mickaël! As for our operations abroad, I just hope that this fighting ends soon and that none of them get hurt. I don't want to have to visit any mothers." A contemplative silence was shared for a few moments between the men. "Well, we best be on our way to the conference, then," Lim added...

Sofia was on her way to the Peace Conference to discuss the war on the other side of the region when she was PA'ed by the pilot. Ionia had few planes, and the ones she did have were either commercial planes that could reach the inland territories or used by diplomats to get from place to place. Sofia pressed the button to listen to the pilot. "Madame, we have a situation." he spoke, and Sofia rose from her seat and went into the cabin of the airliner. "Radar shows a couple of pings, which seem to be growing every second." The co-pilot told her while his superior had the controls. Radar was installed on all planes, and sonar and radar on all sea-craft, as it was in Ionian tradition to know where your enemy was before he was even seen by the naked eye. Sofia frowned as she saw the pings' formation... "Those aren't bugs." She muttered, destroying any excuse for a faulty system. "They're moving fast and too perfect, it has to be a couple squadrons of jets." A pause of silence then took over the cabin, which was punctuated by the co-pilot. "Ma'am, are you implying we're begin invaded?" he asked. Sofia gave him a look of worry and sadness and nodded. "Radio Ankora and get to battlestations!" she ordered, getting back to her seat. "I want a constant link with the Council from now until we land at Teknaf." was her last order before she sighed and lowered her shoulders in exhaustion. It seemed that her job never had a quiet moment, even in the air.

The Council soon heard the news and then one of them passed out. The Naval Chief of Staff phoned to the high command and ordered all vessels on High alert and prepare to give the unknown invaders hell with flak and anti-aircraft missiles. The Army Chief already sent a relay to his Command and soon SAM's were up and mobilized, thanks due in part by the sheer disciplined of the military state. After those two actions, the Head of Internal affairs looked at his colleagues. "Let us use this however, to unite the nation." He said. "Allow the bombing raids to happen, then we shall make it n excuse for war and the rebels will realize this. We must handle the rebels, AFTER the war now... if this is a true invasion." Sofia frowned again. "you're saying let civilians die, in order to keep the overall peace?" She asked. "Yes." Sofia visibly showed the stressed and weight on her shoulders. "no. Stop this invasion, if it does allow damage, blame it on the insignia of the plane's wings. we must not allow ourselves to look like we just dropped and died." and with that, she killed the call, making her point stick. Soon the planed landed and Sofia was taken to Parliament, to deal with the bitching and moaning of the international world.

-----

After the attack it seemed the world stopped. the Council was then ringing with calls from military, saying ow the invasion was halted, but at the hefty coast of a good many lives and ships. 4 battleships were hit heavily, and needed dry-dock until further notice, and a destroyer was in the water... the Land forces suffered losses as well. in the number of a few hundred. "Well, that was better than I expected..." the Minister of Internal Affairs said, smiling. "I'll make a statement here shortly on the incident." Then the phone rang. the Army Chief picked it up and listened. "It seems those were Britcani planes, and it seems Estovakia is sending a few wings to us for use as defense." A little chuckle murmured through the group. "A little late than never huh?" The Internal Affairs said, before leaving for the Press Conference at the foot of the Council Building.

The people of Ionia, both rebel and civilian soon heard the what was said:

People of this great nation. We have just been systematically attacked by Britcani forces from the north. We have not provoked them besides the fact we are allies with the nation of Syrakhstan. We ask for all members of this country, Revolutionaries or not, to join in a unified Ionia and halt the invaders, and bring them to justice for these crimes of humanities against us! We can be a great power! We can get new living space, no territory, and no longer will we sit by while the great powers do their deeds. We shall make our presence known on the international stage! We have the naval supremacy, and we, the Council, said we should use It!

Soon, newscasters from across the region picked up on the little speech made by the Councilman.

The Emperor arrived, in military dress and adorned in medals. He was accompanied by around twelve guards, and the group was followed by the heads of the Imperial Court and their guards. The situation between Wananda and Syrahkstan was getting out of hand. The Emperor knew he had to hold on to his Imperialist plan.

As the Emperor arrived in the hotel room, his guards.began to check for bugs. "Bloody peace-making leaders. The empire must grow! No-one will allow us to build our empire at this conference." The First Minister began to speak. "Viperia has recently joined. Surely they'll want their own empire?" Fyodor Dimich, Defence Secretary Minister, responded. "That's not.ideal, but we are firm allies. We can allow it. Besides, they'll back us up, as they want land as well. And Britcan will have to help us, for we are helping them on two fronts." The Grand High Treasurer nodded in agreement. "We should only bid for a small amount of land, but make sure it has oil reserves. " The Emperor stroked his chin as he sat down on the large wooden chair. "It may work, but we've still got those damn Knights to deal with. How's the revolution?" "It seems that Britcan's attack has united them, moderately. I notified King Matthew of our plan, but obviously we need to keep up the pressure. Let's hope that the revolution pulls through." "Thank you, Halovan." Replied the Emperor. "If the revolution begins to waver, pull us out. The Ionian people may take a disliking to us, but we have Britcan and Viperia as a shield." The First Minister began to give orders to the staff. They all prepared themselves for the conference. It would be a long day.
