Azadliq rebelled from the bureaucratic clutches of the United Kingdoms of Laster in 1749. The first Dictator was appointed, and the government has grown to be more and more oppressive ever since. The people tried rebelling in 1892; they were quelled within a year. The government has since only tightened its grip on the people: food stamps handed out weekly, a 70% tax rate, mandatory church attendance, tattooed bar-codes on every citizen, mandatory military service for all male citizens from ages 16-22.
This military service has trained the populace how to fight, when to fight, and what tactics they should use. The people of this nation have grown weary of their tyrannical, iron-fist government. A new age is dawning, the night ending, a sea of anger and torment sweeping across the land. The second civil war has begun.
OOC: This is the intro to the scenario I plan to present soon in II. It's a civil war in Azadliq; the southern three provinces (Pro-democracy Rebels, hereafter referred to as the Rebels) vs. the four northern provinces (Fascist government, hereafter referred to as the Loyalists). Naturally, there are rebels in the four northern provinces and loyalists in the southern three provinces, but for the most part this is where they stand. The relevant information for either side follows:
Advantages:
Loyalists:
Large, professional army
Abundance of Uranium Mines
Subterranean Capital
Rebels:
Virtually all the Arms Manufacturing Factories in the nation
Larger civilian population
Much greater morale (the rebels have a cause to fight for, the loyalists are mainly fighting out of fear for their lives and the lives of their families)
Disadvantages:
Loyalists:
Low Morale
Lack of factories
Rebels:
Disorganized army
Destitute economy
