A Fall From Grace for Minister Kiburn?

Praetoria, district of Praetoria--- More trouble, it appears, for Minister Thomas Kiburn, the former executive minister for urban development in the southern province of Praetoria. Only a week after the headstrong minister was recorded making insulting and unpatriotic remarks about the recent economic centralization of power to Tiber City, Kiburn's political career may very well be coming to an end. In the early hours of the morning of july 29th, the Ministry of the Interior issued a warrant for a search of Kiburn's estate outside of the city of Praetoria. The raid was accomplished by a task force of local police and special interior agents. Police have now issued a statement alleging that government operatives found large amounts of hard drugs, and more than a few exotic animal skins banned by international regulations. Authorities were immediately dispatched to Kiburn's office in central Praetoria, where they pulled him over while attempting to drive to lunch. Minister Kiburn was reportedly taken into custody, and is now being transported to Tiber City to await internal tribunal. One witness would describe the raid as "efficient, reasoned, and with a large degree of restraint upon discovery of Kiburn's treasonous actions."

Marcus Kovic, a spokesperson for the Praetoria Interior Field Office, read an official statement, as follows:

From the very highest holdfasts of power, to the lowest locales, this government has never and will never tolerate corruption. The days when such decadence was allowed are long since past, and the ministry sincerely hopes that this man will be made an example out of by the appropriate authorities. Though the Reclamation has long since concluded, our noble Chancellor reminds us that final victory over human nature is not a war to be won, but an ongoing struggle against those who would lay our nation low for their own profit.

Although the office of the chancellory has not yet released a statement, an aide at the prime minister's office has been quoted as saying that the executive cabinet is "deeply disturbed" by the actions of this individual, and the chancellor may well be considering a crackdown on political corruption at the provincial level. Since the end of the Reclamation, the jurisdiction for most corruption investigations were given to local Interior field offices. However, this latest scandal may prompt the Interior ministry to re-found their infamous "Internal Affairs" division which was in charge of most political prosecution immediately following the revolution. Whatever does happen, this journalist has every confidence that the party will find and eliminate troublemakers like Kiburn, and ensure Tiberia's survival as a state and as a society|||

Invisible Death Beam; Does Haishan Have a Mini-Death Ray?
Following exposure on Castillian mega-weapon, FDP investigates a new claim on Haize death ray.

FREEDOM CITY, Istegium Free Zone — Not only Nationalist Socialist State of Castille have something to hide but it seems a new terror have surfaced, out of many places right in Freedom City where international hostilities have been officially banned. Unlike Van Heusen, denizens of Freedom City do not undergo any of the aforementioned allegations but instead everything is legal in Freedom City. And this legality hides a similarly magnanimous secret. Pious locals would refer it to divine judgement for sins committed in Freedom City but unlucky foreigners that made resident in lower levels of the city simply refused to talk about it.

And so, FDP have launched an investigation of a new rumour appearing in Freedom City which are talked about yet unseen on the public eye. Is it a great conspiracy like the Castillian mega-weapon or is it merely a shadow amongst shadows? All known accounts however rings true to a particular detail; anyone, literally anyone that get caught by it, screamed in agony for a moment and simply died in his/her own pool of blood.

Some may not even scream and simply fall on the spot for no discernible reason. Even animals are not spared where recent deaths of pigeon flocks in Freedom City are attributed to this infamous rumour. Similar to the Castillian case, FDP have sent numerous representatives and enlisted help of locals to track this great enigma. Upon several months of observation, FDP gained access what could be first-ever account that could help solve the enigma. John (not real name) is one of the few of such witnesses that seen the rumour in action and with persuasion from FDP, he finally decided to talk it out.

"ah tell you wat, mate. This isn't sumthin' ya want to get involved or people take ya. But yah, since FDP is nice, 'ah talk. It's Saturday nite that time, me and mate go to ol' Tipsy Bar for happy hour. Of course we drank booze. Beer, wine, ya name it, all legal n' free. But we ain't taking those pills, ones displayed by scrummy tan people. We only drank our fill and god, it was like wasted."

"We're wasted so me mate wanted to go 'is home. Me being best bud an' havin' less booze pint shouldered 'im, 'ah was walkin' better than me best bud. Mah bud talk to me, let's go through dat place. 'ah heard this place from winds. It's like, just alley and shit. 'ah ask mah bud if he complainin' but he don't talk. We still wasted so 'ah thought he spaced out. Then 'ah hear dat voices again. Screechin, pingin' and screamin' at mah head. 'ah look around, no shit near me."

"No, nuthin'. No car, no lorry and no people but fuck dat noise. Mah friend don't move. Mah hands sweat cold, is it devils or sumthin? Me hear ma folk talk dis. At nite if ya do bad, dey come. They scream and they take ya away. 'ah ain't stupid, 'ah stud so me look again. Then me ear hear talk. 'ah ain't drunk dat time, no sir. It is angry, tell us no be here. Get the fuck out an' all. Then I tripped an' see mah best bud on ground. His nose is bleedin', wait. 'is ears and mouth are not there anymore."

"ah touched ma friend but 'is eyes gone. 'ah ran, ran away from dat place. Fucking ran as fast 'ah can. What 'ah knew, is they told us it restricted zone. This Freedom City, man but dat shit, it ain't right. Free death, 'ah saw mah best bud died near me. 'ah dunno if booze or sumthin but it ain't rite. The voices came from front then that happened. If ya wise, no go where 'ah went. If ya read dis, don't tell anyone or voices 'ill come and make ya like mah bud."

Other accounts collaborated with John's story where the supposed incident only happened at particular areas at certain time of the day. One glaring evidence is, all of such incidents happened whenever a Haize military unit was nearby. It's not certain why does Haize Army sent military personnel on random time and part of the city but what's notable is, they're usually accompanied by an armoured personnel carrier or a vehicle of some kind.

All of them in turn is memorable for their strange round or square-shaped apparatus that seemed like a cover for intelligence sensor but anonymous sources linked the objects to recent deaths in the city slums. This conjecture is further solidified by reports of hallucination effects on otherwise healthy denizens and unexpected increase of dropped phone calls whenever a Haize military unit is sighted. Haishan is a known advocate of directed energy weapons and so the golden question is, is the Haize Army testing a new weapon in the Free Zone?

Additionally, majority of the evidence and reports link to the appearance of such vehicles to upward tick of sudden deaths and cases of mental disturbance. By then FDP is certain that these vehicles are responsible for something in the City or perhaps something entirely more sinister than Castillian superweapon given how easy it is for the vehicle to move compared to the Castillian super-complex.

Although the puzzle is not yet complete, it is safe to say that this new menace could be an invisible death for humans instead of electronics. Local accounts of hearing voices in the night also cements the conjecture whereby it might be a directed energy weapon to both project noise and ironically kill people without noise. What is certain however, this mini 'death-ray' can be only sighted in the Free Zone; cursory glance over public information do not reveal other similar cases except in proximity of the Zone.

For now, the rumour will prove to be inconclusive as no one except John is prepared to cleanly come forward. The Haize Army on the other hand explained the appearance of the vehicles are due to scheduled transit of Haize materiel at random times and not related to such idiosyncratic conspiracy. If it's indeed a mini 'death'-ray, tourists and visitors to the City may want to take prudent action to prevent the events that had befallen on our lead source John.

FREEDOM CITY, Istegium Free Zone With tensions rising between the Ordenite Reich and the People's Unified Federation of Mokastana which increased in severity because of the Richtofen Doctrine a self made and released foreign policy move that was to incriminate the PUF with the Ordenite Reich's measures it be supposedly taking in the release. Thus FDP decided to take a look back at the release of Angel Montana from a Ordenite maximum security prison after a multi-million dollar negotiation between Montana Inc and the Ordenite Reich for the safe release of Angel back to his family. In 1998 was when Angel Montana and his father along with other indivuals were arrested by Ordenite authorities in a raid which was said by informants and the Ordenite Reich's state police as a foreign drug smuggling ring in the making. Angel Montana said by authorities to be a drug trafficker along with his father who died on the scene in the raid, found amongst them were hundreds of kilograms of illegal drugs and thousands in NSD. The authorities had raided a drug deal in progress when all 10 people involved were arrested.

After the raid all of the suspects including Angel Montana were transferred to a facility run by the G.S.I a Ordenite secret police force said to be the main force behind the lack of crime and disobedience in the United World Order. From there all of them were interrogated by G.S.I officials and the truth behind what was going on was told to them by two individuals involved who gave into the interrogation. All of the suspects including Angel Montana were then immediately sentenced to death. Although when it became clear these were foreign nationals and that Angel Montana was a relative of a very wealthy influential indivual, Angel and others were then given life sentences although it's believed the Ordenite Reich were planning on keeping these prisoners for ransom although no comment was given on that assumption.

Among those that were detained in the raid were several revolutionaries from Sarcanza who were said to be the ones paying for the drugs. It has been told that within the last year since the first coverage of this event that the five Sarcanzans who were held prisoner for the raid have been executed by the Ordenite Reich. This raises the question of Angel Montana and his relatives with Montana and his Father in possession of illegal narcotics and foreign buyers with thousands in NSD, FDP wonders if Montana Inc's past was one not so legal but illegal as well and also questions the rise of trillonaire Antonio Montana and his past with drugs and drug trafficking.

An Assassin Mace; HPNF Successfully Tested Strategic Air-Launched Quasi-Ballistic Anti Ship Missile

VEIYLAN — Haize Naval Admiralty have disclosed that Haize People Naval Forces have been successful for first two firings of a brand new strategic quasi-ballistic missiles today. The unnamed missiles are reported to be simultaneously air-launched from HPNF heavy maritime strike bomber and proceeded to strike a simulated target in Far East Dienstadi Ocean some ten or so minutes later at distance exceeding 2000 km+.

The test involved a decommissioned Haize frigate that have been converted to operate on remote controls in order to simulate real time combat conditions as much as possible. In a proceeding statement of the test, HPNF stresses the tests were chiefly defensive in nature and by no means constitute an aggressive posture although the service specifically highlighted concerns of rouge States with multi-fleet formations that can put Haishan at risk.

"It's one of our asymmetric trump cards. We want to show to them that we mean business. Even though we cannot match them at sea, this missile is a great equaliser and a conversation starter." said Admiral Lyvan-Kato which one of HPNF top ranking personnel that overseers the test. Additionally, HPNF stresses that this new weapon will be equipped with non-nuclear warhead (the test involved with inert dummies) to set it apart from similar quasi-ballistic atomic weapons used by HABF.

Defence.Net on the other hand gauged that the creation of the missile can be directly attributed to emergence of Holy Empire's Tempest air defence system thus HPNF may be seeking more options at hand in case the service will be forced to deal with naval adversaries with sophisticated air defenses. Other details regarding the missile are not yet known as this time.

Yesterday in a landslide majority, the Allied Party won the general elections and the senate elections that were held after the recent assassination of President Arkhan, of the Liberal Party. Four months ago, the state capital city of Yhouver suffered the terrorist attack by the Psych Cult which resulted at around 16,000 dead and over 89,000 wounded. It also caused several major landmarks to be destroyed in the process.

Recently after intense investigations, it was discovered that the Revolutionary Party was behind the attacks and the assassinations. With the Liberal Party in tatters, the majority of the Revolutionary Party are in jail for the attacks, and the smaller parties reeling from attacking each other, the Allied Party became the only choice as it became the popular party among the masses. Cries could be heard across the nation as the one name was called out for: “Cordath”

Krarow Cordath is a young genius director head of the Blood Red Moon Clan that is responsible for providing a wide range of services to the Republic of Stonewell. During the crisis, BRMC provided the means to take down the Psych Cult and arrest the key leaders of the cult. In a move that has surprised even the most prescient political experts, Exterior Minister Jonah May has today announced the signing of a new naval accord with the Afrikaner Free State of Wanderjar. At a public press conference this morning, the Minister revealed that Alexiandra had offered "full port-of-call rights" to all Wanderjarian vessels patrolling Greater Dienstad. According to May, Wanderjarian State President Michael Blair personally concluded negotiations with Alexiandran authorities in the early hours of this morning, despite his absence from the press conference itself.

The new agreement, conjecturally labelled the "Alexo-Wanderjarian Naval Accord" by the Lockbourne Times, comes as a complete surprise to almost all media outlets. Frenzied speculation about Alexiandran motives began almost immediately, with leading international relations pundit Sampson June proposing that the National Republic is "seeking shelter" under the wings of Greater Dienstad's foremost naval power until it can "find its feet in an era of uncertainty". Military analysts consulted by the National Times believe that this agreement will afford Alexiandra some measure of Wanderjarian naval protection for its territorial waters and littoral regions.

Alexiandra, which has until now remained largely isolationist in terms of foreign policy, seems to be drifting into the orbit of the Lyran-Lamonian-Wanderjarian bloc, which dominates trading in eastern Greater Dienstad and is considered a global military superpower. It is worth noting, however, that Alexiandra currently has no formal ties with either Lyras or Lamoni, and so such an observation may be premature.

An Inside Look on the Castillian Regime and the Occult

KOREWAMBA, San Castello — It has been no secret that there has been for some time now, a Castillian expeditionary force in San Castello. What they are doing there, is actually the secret. FDP has received reports from sources within the Castillian Ministry of State Security, often abbreviated as the "SS", that Chancellor Vaughn has ordered researchers from the Torrington Nautica to assist National Socialist Castillian Worker's Party officials in securing certain artifacts in the jungle country of San Castello.

According to a confidant who wished not to be identified, a communique was sent from the Chancellor's office to the Torrington Nautica, inquiring on the reports of ancient artifacts of "significant importance", to which Dr. Peter Beyer, Director of Studies at the Torrington Nautica, personally replied with "there is almost undoubtedly artifacts that wield great power that have not been excavated by any entity within the nation of San Castello."

Those particular transcripts were dated "27 July 2016." Three months ago, in May, it was reported by Mokan intelligence in Naval Station Norte Mar that a "moderately-armed naval force" had set sail out of the Castillian National Naval Base 06 in Arcadia. Being at least two months before Castillian combat operations had begun in the Red Star Union, it was almost certain that the particular fleet was not heading the Red Star Union. Approximately two weeks later, Wanderjarian intelligence confirmed that the same fleet that the Mokans had identified had indeed landed a military force in Korewamba, San Castello.

Wanderjarian intelligence confirmed that the force was capable of performing combat operations. The naval force consisted of at least five amphibious assault ships, with the ground force wielding several tank divisions. The total estimate for Castillian armor in Korewamba was about 75 Leopard 2A5s, and 45 TPz Fuchs, along with 25 Puma IFVs, and 25 Wiesel 1/2 AFVs. The Wanderjarian report said that "the Castillian expedition is potentially able to cause more instability in the region."

The confidant mentioned earlier said that the significant military presence was for "the security of the archaeology expedition, but could also be used to reassert Castillian influence in the region if necessary." The confidant also said that the Party officials in charge of the dig have used the State Security Combat Division to enslave the local populace and force them to work on the dig.

Whether or not the Castillians are actually enslaving the population, the expedition itself is a violation of several international treaties, and should be a point of contention for the State and its foes in the near future.

La Cuidad Rico, Mokastana — Today was a stark reminder to those of us in the Press Corps just how difficult and dangerous our jobs can sometime become. Today we mourn the loss of a dear friend, Joseph Crimson, who was found dead in a Hostel outside of La Cuidad Rico earlier this week. Federal Authorities in Mokastana have released the cause of death as asphyxiation from smoke inhalation, but when asked about fowl play, they could not confirm nor deny any information. Due to the high police presence and agents from The National Investigation Bureau on site, we must ask ourselves, was there more to this than a simple fire?

Based on information available from our local Free Dienstani Press branches, it was reported that Mr. Crimson had a plan to expose "The terrible atrocities committed by the United World Order in Red Star Union." Though the notes and information left by Mr. Crimson did not go into specifics, it seems that he wanted to wait until he had confirmation from a certain "out of country" source before bringing them to the office. Information obtained by additional sources claim that Mr. Crimson was expected to meet with someone on Monday and fly out to Castille de Italia the following day. Instead the local fire department responded to a fire call in a local Hostel at approx 10:14PM Monday Night. The place was evacuated, but initial investigations found one body, that of Mr. Joseph Crimson. It was at that point Federal Investigators took over the scene and have limited the information available to the Press.

Joseph was a dedicated reporter, never afraid to investigate the more dangerous cases. From his reporting on weapon systems in Haishan, to exploring the dark pasts of famous families in Greater Dienstad, to hearing about trouble in Red Star Union. He never backed down from threats or trouble, the hunt for the truth was always his main goal. From all of us here at Free Dienstani Press, Joseph, you will be missed.

Breaking News!

The hottest topic that has being trending social media, has being the debate about national service being enforced since the formation of the kingdom. National Service is a compulsory 2-year service that begins straight after graduating from high school. With a larger professional force already being used and few wars that the kingdom has being involved in, the current generation is demanding for national service to be disbanded.

Since the debate has become a hot topic, and with both the monarch and military under pressure, there is large discussion of disbanded national service. Military commanders and members of the Vamperial Order have largely argued about the recent issues of nomad militaries in the south causing chaos along the borders. Even though a legion was recently dispatched, militia units have being the corner stone of keeping the nomads at bay.

The monarchy has come out saying that national service may be disbanded due to internal pressure from the population. The military has come out strongly against the idea and the majority of the Civilian Council (Think Congress/Parliament House) has backed the population for national service disbandment. However, regardless who takes which side, social media has become a hurricane with support against the disbandment growing.

There are rumours of what is being dubbed as Gen-R, calling for the monarchy to step down and a republic to be formed. However, with the focus being entirely on National Service to be disbanded, could we see our version of the Arab Spring? Or will we see a bloody full-blown civil war arise from the mist. Regardless, it is confirmed that the monarchy will refuse to deploy the military against a civilian uprising in favour for discussion over conflict.

Defense at the Speed of Light ; An Informed Haize Perspective on High Energy Lasers

Ahead of planned announcement of Haize first modular solid state laser system, Defence.Net have gained exclusive interview with Professor Cerizye-Ako that represented Vakolev Energy Institute in the joint academia-Haize Armed Forces venture into speed of light weapons. The interview follows as below. Defence.Net commentary are bolded.

Q1 : Nihatzi, Professor. In this interview we will ask you five questions pertaining to high energy lasers being developed by the Institute and the military. The first question is, how powerful is this new laser?

Nihatzi. Hmm, I cannot give specific figures but as you know tactical-grade lasers are usually at 100 kW level so this laser is obviously a bit more than that number. And since it's modular, you can gang it up together to give higher power levels.

Q2 : You mean, it is possible to get megawatt levels by simply chaining them together? Doesn't that stuff belong in chemical-powered lasers like chemical iodine laser?

Yes, that's the beauty of it. Recent advancements in solid state lasers such as laser diodes allow this and so are developments in beam optics. Most will still think the realm of megawatts are chemical's domain and detest rise of solid state lasers into similar levels but that's a reality for us. Put it in the other way; if you have heavy industries that use laser for precision cutting, naturally you will have most of expertise needed to construct a weapon out of it.

The core is the still the same, it's a high energy laser with similar laser diodes and techniques and there's nothing revolutionary about it. So a State with limited resources can still rely on commercial developments to get their own laser weapons. For us, we obviously developed our own which are more durable and flexible.

Q3 : But what if I plate my missile or vehicle with mirrors? What if I spread smokes to defeat the beam? The laser cannot work in foggy conditions right?

Haha, slow down. Your question is a common one and a popular opinion on high energy lasers but frankly it is an armchair analysis, no offense. For a mirror to reflect a laser beam (not yet a high powered one), it must perfectly match the wavelength of the laser and since no mirror is perfect, some of the laser energy will get deposited on the mirror. Then you have things like dusts and stuffs floating in the atmosphere which once struck by the laser will vapourize or accelerate toward the mirror, pitting it.

As general rule of thumb, a reflective surface works best if it's smooth but these superheated materiel will pit the surface, diffracting the laser from being reflected. Obviously it will give a positive feedback and therefore destroy the said mirror. One thing people don't get however not all lasers are visible. Industrial lasers, the ones that are basically the core of our laser weapons operate in infrared wavelength to efficiently cut steel.

It also works best for free space propagation since the atmosphere is transparent to infrared radiation. You may succeed making a mirror to foolproof an infrared laser but know that you're also reflecting the infrared coming from the Sun, making your object visible to other sensors like thermal cameras. As for foggy conditions, think why infrared imagers can operate despite all the fogs. Same case for smokes. If you can tune the laser just enough, it can essentially penetrate these obstacles. They are infrared lasers, not visible ones which are obviously stopped by such stuffs.

Q4 : Thank you for your detailed answer, Professor. What if I put my object far enough and hide it from the laser? The laser cannot work at large distances and cannot hit what it can't see right?

Hmm, this was a common problem for any upstart laser weapon development. It's true that trying to get the laser deliver enough energy through the air is a challenge due to moving air in between. We call this as atmospheric distortion which will cause the laser to defocus with range. However this is not an unsolvable issue; if you have good astronomy sector, you have your solution right there.

By using adaptive optics originally developed for astronomy and space observation, the effects of atmospheric distortion can be mitigated. In other words, the issue of defocus can be reduced at significant levels given you can adapt your optics in real-time, i.e maybe bend this beam a few degrees to the right to avoid air turbulence in advance. Again I state, for thrifty States it's no obstacle that they can use this, it's like a two decade old technology.

For the hide-from-sight issue, that weakness remains true for any operational laser weapon as they can only fire in a straight line. However lasers aren't an end-all solution and you need to look it at another way. Say my laser force you to fly close to the ground and now you're in range of my anti aircraft guns. This is the synergy that we look for, to not replace weapons but to enhance strategies.

Q5 : Oh, that makes sense. Do you think Haize Armed Forces have a laser weapon that can deter threats that are simply too fast for conventional defenses? Will they will blow up such threats where conventional ones fail?

Good question. Well as we all know, laser weapons operate at the speed of light so the primary issue is targeting. That's the most expensive part and on why we didn't have a tactical laser despite having adaptive optics from astronomy and efficient laser diodes from heavy industries. This problem lies in localizing the threat in time and the reason why ordinary defenses have slim chance to intercept, say a supersonic cruise missile.

Well, computing power are getting cheaper and cheaper so having enough tracking capabilities are non-issue but the main issue lies on experience. We're working on that part; Haize Armed Forces seek to further test our creations in real world conditions so it's a continuous process.

As for blowing up the threat, this is a common misconception on how laser weapon supposed to work. It's true that if you heat up a specific spot, i.e the warhead it will explode. But remember that lasers are precision tools and we do not need to completely ensure the target blow up when lased. For an example, say you're shooting a supersonic missile towards me. And any missile will still have fins or wings. This is where the precision of the laser comes in.

I don't need to lase the entire missile to make it explode but instead I can lase that small fin, to make the missile tumble. Then the aerodynamic forces acting on it will do the rest. If I can take out the means of maneuver of the target, I can influence it to fall or disintegrate by itself. In other words, striking into weakpoint of the target. You cannot get that kind of selectivity with ordinary weapons.

Three Companies of Royal Marines assault the beach under contact

Elements of the Royal Navy and Marines, Royal Air Force and the Army have been involved in one of the largest amphibious assault exercises conducted by the Empire’s Ministry of Defence. The assault, that started last weekend and continues to date, involves nearly 650 ships total ships and rough total of 200,000 troops to simulate a large and aggressive amphibious assault as part of a wider operational effort against a modern enemy. Months of preparation and simulated battles at sea and in the air culminated in the largest sea-borne assault undertaken by the Holy Empire since the liberation of the Hanover Island Chain from Kanami.

In a statement from the Ministry of Defence, it is stated that the exercise was to ‘keep all branches of the military sharp for any future eventuality this Empire may encounter. The Holy Empire possesses one of the largest and most powerful navies in the world, let alone the region, despite the unfortunate losses during the current regional conflict. Within this huge and respected asset is a potent Trident that is the combination of air, sea and land power projection, and that is our amphibious assault capabilities.'

The exercise is notable for is overall lack of simulation and is the very epitome of a ‘Wargame’ where many physical combat vehicles are used instead of computers simulating them. The combined fleet includes an Inquisitor Class Dreadnought and several amphibious task forces that employ a great many carriers and, as such, is fearsome sight that Stevid is trying to project to any prying states. Furthermore more, the exercise involved two army brigades and parachute battalion acting as an ‘opposition force’ conducting their own land based exercise using the naval assault as an ‘invading force’.

Considering this is the largest amphibious assault since the first Hanover Conflict, it is quite small in comparison to what can actually be achieved by the country’s rather impressive naval capabilities. In the Second War of Golden Succession the invasion of the Ath Isles still stands as the largest invasion ever mounted by the Empire. But the general lack of large invasions will be concerning to certain top brass personnel within the Ministry of Defence. Stevid has undertaken almost twelve amphibious assaults since the invasion of the Ath Isles but never with troop numbers as high as 200,000. On top of this, the Ministry of Defence stated that while a lot of the exercise is not simulated, the assault is part of wider simulated conflict.

IBCN understands that the Ministry of Defence has used the exercise to conduct a large invasion of nearly 700,000 troops involving an entire ‘Fleet’ (Official Stevidian Royal Navy designation for the largest concentration of ships in any given theatre of operations) on an opposing nation-state with this particular exercise being just one part of the larger picture. This is despite the fact that this amphibious assault is larger than the Hanover landings, Guffingford Landings and Dersconi Invasion combined.

It could be inferred to be a show of force following the Royal Navy’s poor run of form in the current regional war despite never being defeated by Imbrinium but suffering at the hands of Lyras during the initial exchanges. The Royal Navy remains more than capable of mounting a serious assault on Imbrinium and retains its place as one of the regions largest navies - however the current war seems to have changed regional opinion of the Royal Navy and it is determined to prove that it is still capable. The invasion of Dersconi and impressive war record around Holy Panooly is a start, but invading whole countries is more difficult on a political and strategic level. A large exercise like this is a perfect way to show to the world just how capable a force is even with dented pride.

A test for some, a challenge for others?

The Ministry of Defence refused to be drawn into discuss on their official statement and stressed it was a huge exercise designed to keep troops ready for action if needed. However some leading military analysts believe that this exercise could be a precursor to a much larger real world event in the current regional war.

“It certainly looks like the military is flexing its muscles to the region. The war has really been bereft of a genuine amphibious assault that surprises an opposing forces and destroys combat units. The Stevidian amphibious force has shown in Dersconi and now in Eldrich, Northern Stevid what it is capable of.” States Jamal Amidullah of Milton University.

While the exercise is certainly a well-rounded test for the entire Stevidian military, the reactions and observations from other nations in the region will be a the forefront of the Stevidian Intelligence Committees so as to gauge what action to take next. This large exercise may been seen as a challenge or warning to Stevidian opponents in the current regional war.

The Holy Empire currently has 10 naval ‘Fleets’ of ships numbering over ten of thousand of various classes and roles. Given that the size of a single fleet can seriously hamper organisational skills, the amount of troops that can be landed is limited. If protection is adequate and force dispersal is correct, then the MoD has stated that it could easily deploy two to three Army Groups to a single theatre. IBCN understands that this single deployment of force can adequately handle most locally deployed and entrenched forces of any nation or a one to two Lyran Orders. However the MoD source of this information wished to remain anonymous.

The exercise allowed the military to truly put some of its newest equipment through its paces. New heavy equipment transport hovercraft able to deploy four main battle tanks or three line breaker heavy tanks directly to a beachhead. Amongst the tanks are the newest purchases from the Yohanne VMK military storefront. In the skies were nearly a hundred of the Air Force’s latest Assassin air superiority jets that have seen limited deployment in Stevidian South Greal, plus a several concept aircraft yet to be officially unveiled.

Although the exercise is not yet over and the protracted land based element continues at this moment, military chiefs have been quick to laud the initial amphibious part a success. It remains to be seen if the Holy Empire will use her potent amphibious abilities in the current war.

Haishan Defense Ministry Confirms Sequential Launch of Classified Military Satellites

RAELIZH - In a wake of disastrous twice Kessler incidents befalling Haishan, Haishan Defense Ministry recently announced that several classified military satellites under Haize Armed Forces' banners have been successfully launched to their respective orbits.

While details regarding the said systems are unknown at this time, it is postulated that the launches are intended to replace a portion of lost strategic satellite relay capabilities induced by aftermath of aforementioned space disasters.

This conjecture links up with the revealed destination orbits of some of the satellites; some are directed to GEO and others MEO level of orbits respectively. Haishan Defense Ministry additionally adds the launch is technical success for the newly commissioned Raelizh Space Launch Complex to perform in military surge capabilities in addition of its present civilian Global Aerospace Trade Association functions.

A kingdom collapses!!

“This is Jacob Smith, reporting live from Port Glasgow for GNN,” A tall, thin, well maintained and well clothed man stood in front of the camera somewhere in Port Glasgow. The man standing next to him, appeared to be more of a hipster stereotype than anything else. “Standing with me, is Robert Cooper, and leader of what’s being labelled as the Generation of Rebellion or Gen-R. Tell the viewers what you stand for,”

“We are sick and tired of having to serve in a fascist military dictatorship. It’s time that we showed the monarchy that they can’t push us around,” Robert started. “We have so far achieved halting national service but we will not stop there,”

“What more are you trying to achieve?” Jacob asked with genuine curiosity. In the background, the sound of gunfire could be heard among the screams of panic. The pair look about and then return to the interview feeling safe but slightly confused about the gunfire.

“We want, a democratic republic that is elected by the people for the people. None of this monarchy which is for their own self,” Robert declared.

“But what would you tell the people that have enjoyed the prosperity of the monarchy and their benevolent rule? What about those who were once on the streets? The jobless? What security can you promise them that we won’t fall into a corrupted republic? The monarchy wasn’t all bad,”

At that moment, people started to point and looked to the skies. A long missile screamed across the skies as just then, the sirens blared for the first time since 2012-2013 when Lynion was invaded during the Imperial Wars. Robert appeared relieved as he hadn’t had time to think through for a response. The missile had reached what could be the centre of the city before exploding in mid-air and that was when people saw something green come out of the missile as it exploded.

The camera turns back to Robert and Jacob as Robert starts to itch uncontrollably. Jacob then begins to order his assistant for the first aid kit and water to relieve Robert. Screams could be heard as the camera fans about trying to see what’s happening, a few moments later, Robert screamed in pain and the camera turned back to him. His hair was now gone, his skin was falling off in large chunks, the eyes had turned into a blood lust red and his teeth seemed to have sharpen. Jacob starts to send everyone back but it’s too late. What was left of Robert lunged forward at Jacob and started to feast on his flesh. The cameraman was rushing to the van when he was attacked from behind and the feed cuts out.

3 Days Later…

A woman with a bullet proof vest and a ballistic helmet on, with the words ‘PRESS’ written in cap white letters, stood on top of the rooftop of a building with a squad of marines around her. The camera adjusted itself until it had the woman centred. In the background, the sound of gunfire, explosions and screams could be heard as the marines stood firm. The woman looked nervous and appeared somewhat concerned about her protection, even though she had a squad of marines with her. Everyone had their body fully covered and was wearing a gas mask.

“This is Patricia Williams for GNN and I come to you live from the rooftops of Port Glasgow,” the words ‘live’ appeared in the top left hand corner. “I coming to you live in what is considered the greatest disaster in the history of the Vamperial Kingdom. What is considered as an unprovoked attack against the Vamperial Kingdom, has resulted in what is being called, the day of nightmares. It isn’t known who or what strike against the kingdom, but it is confirmed, that cities and towns across the kingdom have being hit by strikes with similar response. The Order is calling for calm and requesting that the population is sent to the evacuation zones,” Suddenly, the screen goes black but it isn’t the feed being cut. The woman turned around and looked up as the skies suddenly went black, as if a storm had suddenly occurred and it was close to midnight. Local time read 10:31am.

“As…The skies have suddenly…” she was in shock of what was happening as a marine appeared to be talking to someone in his ear.

“Ma’am, we have to leave now,” the marine ordered as he and the squad started to use the fire escape staircase on the side of the building. A wave of cruise missiles landed across the city as the feed was cut again.

3 Days Later…
6 Days since Z-Day

A news feed begins with King Mark-Marlow sitting behind a desk with the Vamperial Flag hung behind him on the wall. He appeared somewhat concern but more prepared for what he was about to say.

“It is with great sadness, that I report that the monarchy has being destroyed during the unprovoked attack against the Vamperial Kingdom. The kingdom is in shatters but I will assure you and tell you, that the military and law enforcement agencies are fighting back to maintain law and order across the kingdom,” Mark-Marlow begins as he moves a memory card to the back in his pile. “We are advising that all remaining survivors head to the designated evacuation zones and refugee camps that are being maintained. We advise that this is happening across the entire kingdom and we ask that anyone considering coming to Lynion to stay as far away as possible. Martial Law is still in effect,”

7 Days since Z-Day

“This is an order from the Vamperial High King, Vamperial Benjamin Kingston. The plague has being destroyed and law and order is needed to be maintained. We are requesting that all military and Members of the Vamperial Order return home. This is by order of the High King, Vamperial Benjamin Kingston,” The message runs on a loop and repeats itself. Vamp’s voice seemed to have deepen and become more demonic as horrific music can be heard in the background.

14 Days since Z-Day

“This is Master Lucus Longshanks calling out to any surviving members of the Vamperial Order, the military and any other survivors,” Lucus voice broke the recording from what appeared to be Vamp Kingston. “The Vamperial Kingdom is lost. We are requesting that all survivors head to safe camp in Lyras. Do not come here. No-one is allowed to come to the former states of Lynion. By order of the Remanent, the former Vamperial Kingdom is now under quarantine,”

28 Days since Z-Day

“This is Holly Johns for GNN, coming to you live from what is now called the Remnant Port City of Lynion somewhere in Lyras,” Holly stood next to a male in casual clothing as the camera had them presented in the centre. The man seemed to smile at the mention of city. In reality it was largely a massive tent city. “I’m standing with Master Longshanks that is among the representatives of the Remanets. Sir, how many people do you think live here?”

“It’s estimated somewhere around 500,000 people are living in this tent city. If you head about 50 kilometres down the coast, there’s another tent city of around 500,000 people,” Lucus started as he tried to appear calm. “We have reports of another wave of refugees coming here by freighter. But after that, we have no way of knowing if there’s any more survivors,”

“What will happen to the people of Lynion?” Holly asked him curiously as he was put on the spot for the question.

“We’re not sure at the time,” Lucus answered her. “What we do know, is that we need to maintain this population and be thankful that our allies have granted us aid to assist us,”

“Do you think Lynion could be re-taken?” Holly asked him. Lucus had to think about this as it appeared they hadn’t come to an agreement.

“No. The chemicals that hit all across Lynion have transformed it into a hell spawn of a nightmare. The land isn’t fertile to grow anything and most of the water has being evaporated. The land…is useless to anyone not to mention it’s always night time there, the sun hasn’t being seen since it first vanished,”

After weeks of not being able to comment on the invasion of Lochconnon in northern Imbrinium we take you live to the ministry of defense for a new briefing

Demi Efthalia walked up to the podium.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the press I know the last few weeks of not reporting on the invasion in Lochconnon. The current situation there on the ground is tense at best we have forces holding the line awaiting on forces to make there to push the Morridane’s off the coast. I can say that this failed invasion will be the Morridane’s Dunkirk.

As we speak missions are underway to push them back into the ocean and sink there fleet. Operations in West Mordent have slowed somewhat but I have been told that the operation will be back on track within the next 24 to 36 hours. As for our ceasefire and peace talks with the nation of Stevid they are going well. There hasn’t been any breaks reported in the ceasefire and been briefed that peace talks are ongoing.

Now for good news the ministry of defense approved the purchase of 300 airframes to the golden throne for a not to be announced sum. These air frames are a new version of the older B-1Rs we have in mothball status they will be updated by Trilon Defense before being delivered to the golden throne, these air frames I’m sure not the first to purchase by the golden throne.

After a brief briefing today at the ministry of defense a packet was passed out to the reporters and correspondence, we go now to our ministry of defense new room.

This is Settimio Iadanza and the MOD

The current and future expansion of the armed forces, this report has some large expansions and some small gains and some that have no gains.

The navy is the future big winners today in this report with a total expansion of the entire force with current numbering 48 fleets but this is soon to change. The future force will be 96 fleets with the total naval ship force being almost 35,000 ships with the naval air wing topping out at almost 300,000 air frames even though the naval land bomber force will stay the same training and carrier based aircraft will increase.

The second biggest winner will be the marine force in which deploys with the navy will be increase to almost 18 million soldiers.

The royal air force will make small gains in bomber forces and fighter aircraft but nothing over 5,000 aircraft and those aircraft lost in the war. Support aircraft will increase about another 5,000 aircraft and the bomber force will finish out their current expansion of another 5,000 bombers which will mostly be replacing lost bombers and finish out the B-8 and B-6 production for the short term.

The army being the biggest loser with only replacement of losses of troops in the war and due end of contracts, the equipment will be replaced from the war and that cannot be fixed.

There will be no reduction in any force for the seeable future.

IBC: BREAKING NEWS:

Air force rescuers have rescued 4 of the 6 crewmembers of the ill fated LY-912 that crashed earlier this morning. The RIAF isn’t releasing the names or who survived and who has died in this crash of one of the most satisfied bombers ever deployed by the RIAF.
RIAF rescue and nuclear response teams are on the scene of the crash investigating the scene. The MOD has now grounded all LY-912 bombers and requesting Lyran military and technical teams to help determine what happen to the bomber.

It has been reported that this isn’t the first accident with the new bomber two bombers made hard landings which damaged the aircraft beyond repair. Another lost power when switching from normal engines to nuclear power while in flight but the aircraft didn’t crash, also report reactor issues while in flight with the power reactor shutting down while in flight and had to switch back to normal jet engines while on a combat mission the only thing that kept those aircraft in the air was the crews acting fast and getting the jet engines back online.

The Holy Empire Leaves the CCA Amid WMD Use
Stevid officially resigns from the Morridane Commonwealth Colonial Authority over 'Politics' and 'God Rod' launch

As of 1500 hrs today the Holy Empire of Stevid has officially resigned its place as an official lower tier member and honorary (but non-signatory) top tier member of the of the Commonwealth Colonial Authority (CCA) as created and run by the government of Morrdh. The decision to resign cited by the government was for ‘political reasons’ and the ‘use of weapons of mass destruction’.

A spokesperson for the Stevidian Government stated, “The Empire has resigned from the CCA under political grounds between this Empire and the Authority. Further to this, the use of the CCA assets belonging to the Commonwealth of Morrdh engaged the Crown of Imbrinium with ‘God Rod’ kinetic strike weapons. Given the equivalent TNT explosive magnitude these weapons create, they have been designated a weapon of mass destruction by the government. There use in a conflict against a nation-state we are trying to make peace with would ordinarily not bother this government, however given this nation’s allegiance to the CCA, it would not be fitting to continue peace talks yet remain in the Authority. Therefore, this government has resigned from the CCA to the furtherment of peace with Imbrinium and the Covenant Alliance.”

The decision will probably not make that much of difference to the running of the CCA although the public resignation does much to damage the CCA reputation within Greater Dienstad. Furthermore, the decision to leave may not come as a surprise to the Commonwealth of Morrdh due to Stevid threatening to leave at the beginning of the current regional war over the Authority’s inability to react to emerging threats against it and members.

However the Stevidian scientific community has vocally opposed the decision to leave the CCA and several key scientists within Stevid and Adaptus Astrates have launched a petition for the Minister of Science and Prime Minister to reverse the decision to leave.

The community protests against the resignation on the grounds of diminished funding and support for the endeavours and aspirations of the fledging Stevidian Space Administration (SSA). The SSA have recently launched missions to Lunar and Mars, and manned missions to Lunar and Europa. All these missions received valuable input from CCA scientists and the mission to Europa benefitted from leading technological advances from Morrdh and the CCA.

However despite the current success of the SSA because of CCA support, the government has refused to U-Turn on the decision to leave and has finalised the resignation in writing to both the head of the CCA and the Commonwealth of Morrdh.

“The resignation probably won’t come as a surprise to many across the country, be it Stevid or Morrdh – or perhaps the region. It was bound to happen sooner rather than later given the huge misgivings the Holy Empire has with the Authority when it comes to regional and extra-regional solar/near-earth affairs. However the reasoning behind the resignation is not because of these misgivings, if not directly implied at any rate, but more over the CCA use of the ‘God Rod’ weapon of mass destruction in occupied Mordent on Imbrinium troops.

Several rods of hyper-velocity tungsten were slung from orbital satellites at Imbrinium forces in Mordent. The damage has yet to be assessed but orbital kinetic strikes ‘can’ produce an explosion with a TNT equivalent comparable to a tactical nuclear blast, minus the radioactive fallout. It is their usage that appears to have wrangled the government.

Now this development may show a genuine degradation of the Stevidian-Morridane relations. The Holy Empire is trying to settle peace with Imbrinium but a Morridane strike on forces through assets that may or may not be attributed to the CCA, of which Stevid was a part of at the time, does not look good when mentioned at the negotiation table. Could it be construed that Stevid is still collaborating with Morrdh behind the scenes in mordent over a year after Stevidian troops withdrew from Mordent? Imbrinium could easily spin it that way, enough to create genuine fear of it occurring in Stevidian South Greal.

There’s also the fallout from the Kessler Effect, a man made phenomena that is still plaguing the region since the anti-satellite strike by the Crown Kingdom of Imbrinium. The Golden Throne gathered a large amount of region wide support, including Stevid’s, for the short-term limitation of near-earth military asset usage so that the Kessler Effect could be controlled. The use of orbital military assets by the CCA/Morrdh seems to be the last straw for the Stevidian government.

But wait, there’s more. The government spokesperson alluded to ‘political’ reasons behind the resignation, but these reasons were not elaborated on. One could draw inferences to failed discussions within the CCA about how to combat a belligerent Imbrinium and rising Haize Junta in the realms of space. Stevid repeatedly called for a united front against the actions of Imbrinium and thought the satellite attack may tip the CCA into action. It did not. Furthermore the Holy Empire vouched for Haishan at the CCA trying to dismiss the nation’s threat to CCA as nothing more the paranoia through fear. Instead, the discussions led nowhere and Empire nearly resigned because of it.

Also the current direct political relationship between Stevid and Morrdh can only be described as abysmal. Once, the two nations were good friends, allies; however the regional war has instead of bringing the two together has in fact torn them apart. This is due, in no small part, to the fact they are technically fighting the same enemy (Imbrinium and her Covenant allied support from Lyras), yet actually fighting two separate conflicts. The reasons behind Morrdh political positioning over this are still not known. One could argue it is because Lyras is involved in the war, yet she is involved with Imbrinium efforts in all conflicts as per the pact she has with the Crown.

Given all these political tensions, it is no surprise the Holy Empire has left the Commonwealth Colonial Authority"

On the face of it, it seems that the last concrete political agreement between Morrdh and Stevid has been severed – the two a still kept together through shared ideals, culture and economic systems. But the SSA well and truly looks to fall foul of this break in relations.

Stevid currently has over 340 officers in exchange programs with the CCA. This means there are currently Stevidian personal serving aboard CCA ships and installations both on Earth and in the void. However, all the technology sharing programs, the exchange programs and CCA technical advisors in Adaptus Astrates, it all ends. Stevidian’s in the CCA will return to the Empire and take up their roles back in the SSA and CCA advisors will leave the Empire’s major spaceport within Adaptus Astrates.

Space exploration activities run by the Holy Empire will suffer massively as a result of the resignation, although the currently returning mission from Europa will not be affected. The future mission to Mars however will no longer received full CCA support and the SSA will now have to go it alone. However the technology used in the current Vienna rockets and capsules is likely to be reused to great effect. But the SSA will likely keenly miss CCA mission support in terms of rescue craft and spare parts.

Official HS Morridane Government Statement

Her Serenity's Government is aware of public opinion of a recent kinetic strike or so-called 'Rod of God' attack.

It can be confirmed that the strike was carried out at the behest of Her Serenity's Government with consideration in mind of the potential fallout from such a course of action.

Her Serenity's Government does not seek forgiveness nor will it attempt to prove justification for said action other than as a military decision.

Her Serenity's Government does however wish to state that the orbital platform involved in the strike had previously sustained damage and was suffering increasingly severe orbital decay. Said platform is no longer operational.

Her Serenity's Government does not wish to disclose any further information at this time.
