UFA Application Area & Rhydin

The UFA (Unified Front Alliance) was purposely formed to counter TLIN (The League of Imperial Nations). The Alliance is a mutual defense treaty subscribed to by it's member nations. It was established as an initiative against the aggressions of the League and realized on 14 May 1992, in Shellsea, a neutral territory within the lands of Rhydin itself.

The organization of the Alliance is two-fold: the Political Consultative Committee handles political matters, and the Combined Command of Pact Military Forces controls the assigned multinational forces, with headquarters in based in Shellsea. Furthermore, the council of the Unified Front Alliance's Military Legions is composed of one high ranking officer from each nation concerned, this allows for equal say in how and why the fight is conducted against hostile forces.

The major problem confronting the free peoples everywhere in the last half of the 20th century is the threat to peace and freedom presented by the militant aggressiveness of international imperialism. A major weakness in this struggle is lack of adequate understanding of the character of the challenge which imperialism presents under the guise of organizations in likeness to the League itself.

We are convinced that we are on the right side in this struggle and that we are well ahead now in its major aspects. But if we are to maintain our advantage and assure victory in the struggle, we must stamp out this serpent before it grows further.

Few can still believe that Imperialism is simply a curious and twisted philosophy which happens to appeal to a certain number of zealots but which constitutes no serious threat to the interests or ideals of free society. The actions of Karthay certainly put this into doubt as the League's imperialist zealots are even now in battle against we of the people.

The days of indifference are gone. The danger today in our attitude toward the League is of a very different kind. We see the obvious dangers. There is no question that the free people of Rhydin generally will support whatever programs our leaders initiate in these fields to counter the machinations of the League and it's grasping talons.

What we must realize is that this struggle probably will not be decided in the military, economic, or scientific areas, important as these are. The battle in which we are engaged is primarily one of ideas. The test is one not so much of arms but of faith.

If we are to win a contest of ideas we must know their ideas as well as our own. Our knowledge must not be superficial. We cannot be content with simply an intuition that imperialism is wrong. It is not enough to rest our case alone on the assertions, true as they are, that the league enslaves people, perverts order and destroys justice.

We must recognize that the appeal of the League and it's idea of Imperialism is not to the masses, as they would have us believe, but more often to an intelligent minority in newly developing countries who are trying to decide which system offers the best and surest road to progress.

We must cut through the exterior to the very heart of the League. We must come to understand the weaknesses of this Imperialistic front as a system of aspirations, why it has failed in its promise of equality in abundance, why it has produced a whole library of disillusionment and a steady stream of men, women, and children seeking to escape its blight.

But we must also come to understand its strength - why it has so securely entrenched itself in the vast realm of nations before us, why it has been able to accomplish what it has in the field of education and science, why in some of the problem areas of the world it continues to appeal to leaders aspiring to a better life for their people?

If the free world is to win this struggle, we must have men and women who not only are against the vileness of the League itself but who know why they are against it and who know what they are going to do about it. Imperialism that the League promotes is a false idea, and the answer to a false idea is truth, not ignorance.

Our truth shall be the blade of righteousness and it shall cleave away this darkness that threatens us so.

Third Front

I. Executive Directors

1. The Executive Director (ED) is not the ruler of the council, but a steward of the council.
2. The duties of the ED include (but are not limited to):
a. Presiding over monthly meetings,
b. Handling forum affairs with other entities (Community Leader staff, etc.),
c. Monitoring the use and correcting the abuse of the council mailing list,
d. Enforcing penalties, bans, etc,
e. Keeping and updating the council roster and mailing/TG list.
1) Council roster template: Acronym - National Leader - Government Type - Nation Name
Ex: (KoL) - GaladrieI - Monarchy - Kingdom of Lothlorien
2) Council roster reflects the status of inactive Nations and their return date.
Ex: (Gondor) - Aragorn - Totalitarian - Gondor (Inactive until 12/25).


II. Assistant Directors - Assistant to the Executive Directors

1. The duties of the AD include (but are not limited to):
a. Aiding the ED with forum duties (as the ED sees fit)
b. Keeping and updating the rules (this duty may be delegated to the Rules
Committee Chair, but final responsibility lies with the AD)
2. Calling for issues to be discussed and voted upon in conjunction with the ED
3. If the ED is inaccessible, the AD may act on the ED's behalf to include all of the
above listed duties.


III. Council Officers

1. The duties of the CO's office include (but are not limited to):
a. Handling all new Nation applications, adding input to acceptance or denial with reasoning behind either.
b. The CO's office verifies the accuracy of the application.
c. And notates this in their acceptance or denial notification.
2. Appointing and training assistants.
3. Reporting the status of wars and war-related issues.
4. Initial go-between for Alliance Member Nations and the Council
a. Trade, Diplomacy, and Military Setup Assistance.
b. Reviewing and Checking up on Alliance nations participation and or current role-playing.

IV. Military Staffing

1. The duties of the Military Staffing include but are not limited to:
a. Deployment of Alliance forces to meet threats and or hostile developments that threaten the Alliance itself.
b. To verify the nature of hostile threats.
c. To provide an advisory response to the directors and council officers.
2. To aid in the provisional training of military forces and distribution of equipment and technological know how to Alliance nations.
3. Reporting the status of wars and war-related issues.
4. Military Setup Assistance.
