CONSERVATIVE PARTY
Spectrum: Right
The Conservative Party was formed during the split in the Chancellorate and was the ruling party in the Provincial Chancellorate, and is, as such, the oldest party in the Electorate. It advocates traditionalism and personal rights; they fight for stability and oppose reformism and modernism. The Conservative Party is also the main opponent of Urcean Communism, or Contism, and readily advocates for its suppression. Other than that, the Conservative Party is also a supporter of moderate libertarianism. The Party does, however, believe that the government needs to be more forceful when it comes to social issues, pushing for the state to support morality, specifically in issues like the legal status of drugs as well as gay marriage. The Party was lead by Michael Colombo from its formation until 2047. It has had a bumpy electoral history; it controlled a majority of seats (in a coalition with the former Julian Party) until 2030, when it was relegated to the inferior status within that coalition. Currently, the party also supports the creation of a large, strong National Army under the guidelines of the Constitution.

UNION PARTY
Spectrum: Center
Following President Julius Nero's appointment to the regency of the Empire of Urcea and the establishment of the "Union of Urcea", infighting broke apart the former Libertarian Party between the "nationists" and the "unionists". The unionists merged with the former Mountain Party and picked up other small centrist parties to form the "Union Party". The Union Party advocates strict adherence to the concept of the Union. It argues that ideological and regional differences are inherently Libertarian in nature, and that those differences are the reason the Second Great War began. Prior to the Republic annexing the Empire, its main platform was to maintain the Union. However, since Conservatives passed a bill to annex anyway, the Unionists have become more of a "provincial power party". The Union Party's opinion is that, while all the provinces should remain in the glorious Union, it should stay just that - a Union, and not a device for Federal Power. The party is lead by Alphonse Laurent, noted diplomat who attended the peace conference at San Carlos, which ended the Second Civil War. It advocates that the "Congressional Defense Force", a very small Federal-funded military, should be maintained, and that the provinces should be responsible for the defense of the nation through provincial militias. They have little view in regards to social issues, maintaining that those should be decided by the provinces, but if forced to answer, the Union Party member would probably be in favor of social welfare, a very small "baseline" socialized medicine program, and legalization of drugs and abortion.

NATION PARTY
Spectrum: Far Right
After the Libertarian Party fractured, the "nationists" merged with independents and the Mazzist Party to form the "Nation Party". The Nation Party advocated full unification of the Republic and Empire; the application of the Constitution to the Empire, and expectation of the Imperial Provincial governments to "follow the rules", so to speak. Although it didn't call for the dissolution of the Empire completely, it advocated for its integration. In addition, it called for a creation of the "Congress of the Union" out of the members of the Congress and Electorate, but make the representation proportional, meaning the Republican representatives would have outnumbered the Imperials about 2 to 1. The Nation Party is lead by noted war hero John Malone. Since the integration of the Empire, however, the Nation Party has advocated for a very strong, all-encompassing National Army. In addition, the main points of its platform are ending immigration to and from Urcea, establishing a permanent isolationist policy to maintain Urcean industry, and a strong role of Congress in the social affairs of its people.

LIBERAL PARTY
Spectrum: Left
The Liberal Party is a messy unification of the former Social Democratic, Republican, Contists (Urcean Communists), and Left Libertarians. The viewpoints of the party vary widely, but they mostly agree on one thing - reformation of the nation. The Liberal Party generally agrees that unity, even between conflicting viewpoints, is the best option to overturn the long-standing control of Urcea by the political right. The party, like the Conservative party, has had a bumpy history. Prior to 2030, the Republican party held a large number of seats, followed by the Social Democrats holding a few and the Contists holding little. Despite the Julian Party victory in 2030, the Social Republican Party (a merger of the former Social Democrat and Republican Party) made gains; the new Chancellor, Brian Julius (Julian Party) was willing to "play ball", in regards to Social Republican reform. After the war and the separation of the Electorate, the Social Republican Party was handily defeated in the 2034 provincial elections, losing all but eight seats. Under the leadership of Brian Julius, who renounced his titles of nobility and switched parties, the Social Republicans took advantage of the Libertarian split by forming a Liberal party, merging with left libertarians who broke off, as well as the Contist party.
