Unknown Oblast, Severnaya Territoriya
Podpolkovnik Aleksandra Kovalenka crept along the snow embankment as the hurricane force winds whipped around a blinding sheet of snow. Aleks was the commanding officer of Pathfinder Team Neptune, and as such, the team was sent in to "soften up" targets that had the slightest chance of harboring severyanin. She pulled out a small sheet of paper, her hand trembling from the -60o windchill as she slowly unfolded the map. Saying nothing, she motioned her hand to go forward for about 50 meters. Out of nowhere, the 5 other members of her team reemerged from their snowy graves and began to sprint towards another ditch that was 30 meters way. The Guards' power armor made them be able to sprint for about twice as long as an average human, making them ideal for the sort of jobs they did. Aleks silently followed the team through the knee-high snow, her body becoming a bit tired as the team collapsed into the large ditch. She pulled out some sort of binoculars that had a single lens in the front, while having two in the back. After focusing in for a few minutes, a small village was seen off in the distance, The village was a typical one, only about 18 houses, a small temple, and a medium-sized city hall. there were some children outside, doing what Aleks assumed to be some sort of ice fishing.
"Village, Range 1.4km, Grid KO0998" Aleks said into her helmet's communication system. A guardsmen near her pulled out a similar binocular device, except this one having a reddish tinged lens to the right of the main lens. The guard looked through the lens and at the village, a narrow red beam emanating from the device and striking the city hall-like structure.
"Target lazed, waiting confirmation to signal launch" the guard finally spoke.
"Confirmed, relay coordinates to Mission Battery Alpha-Echo" Aleks ordered the guard next to her.
"Mission Battery Alpha-Echo, Neptune, we have a small village in the open, coordinates are as follow: 007211945; recommending use of incendiaries" the guard spoke into his helmet. there was static and then a reply "Jawohl, Alpha-Echo confirms".
There was a distinct clinking and thumping noise as the "Medusa" Missile Pods came to life, spewing out their 320mm rockets in clouds of smoke. Seconds afterwards, the ground trembled as they rockets struck their targets, creating large creators where houses used to be.
"Target confirmed Alpha-Echo" the guard spoke again and rose up from the ditch.
The team advanced towards the ruins, taking care to make sure that any other launchers were postponed until further notice. The billowing smoke rose high up into the air, mixing with the smoke from other villages. Bodies laid contorted in horrific positions, all of them missing at least some sort of body part. The team split up into two-man partnerships, each one given a specific sector to check for survivors.
Aleks and her partner kicked down a door to a house, finding a semi-conscious lady lying on the ground, both of her legs missing. She gave a horrified look at Aleks and the other guard, seemingly to know of her fate. She mouthed the words "Shoot me", but Aleks nor the guard made any attempt to reach for their INAM-22's. The guard, however, reached over to a toolbox neared by and brought out a hacksaw and walked over to the lady. The woman tried to crawl away, leaving a trail of blood and flesh behind her. Aleks sauntered over and kicked her in the head, stopping the woman in her tracks. The other guardsman grabbed the woman's arm and pressed the hacksaw into her bicep and began to slowly saw back and forth, the woman screaming in agony with each pass of the blade. Eventually, her arm laid across the room from her, her eyes wet with tears as she stared wickedly at Aleks. Aleks lifted up her INAM-99 and placed it directly into the lady's mouth and pulled the trigger, spraying the wall with brain and blood. Eventually, Neptune Team pulled out, but not before leaving their mark... a lone Swastika banner with the phrase Gott schütze den Reich spray painted on the wall below.
