Commonwealth of Imperial Nations [OOC Thread]

Right now, all those who have pledged support to continue the legacy of the SEC, fate has called us to work together to reunite our fellow nations in an alliance not of our own creation, but in the memory of those who created such an alliance. The recent implosion of the SEC has caused me to realize what a great alliance the SEC had been, and that though it had its issues, the basic goodness of the alliance must remain. We have our work cut out for us, and we will see this through to fruition. If you are a willing participant to keep the former SEC going in a new form, please, join me this day. Stand up and be counted. For this moment, it shall be the NSEC, new SEC, until we get a new name.

First off, the name should be changed. Any ideas? The Imperial Powers Coalition? Or the Pact of Imperial Nations? Two ideas I had there. Anyone else?

Holla.

This is not to say I will ever join, but I definatly want to help in some way or another. And, I want to keep an eye so I can see a hopefully promising end product.

The Imperium perhaps?

And the first order is to remember not to break down into arguments and slander, for it is through division in which we are weak. Only though discussion and compromise can we attain strength and greatness. Please, whatever this becomes will be our collective work.

Kylarnia, I love your suggestion! The Imperium!

Tagged. I will keep an eye on this. Good luck.

And I like the name as well. The Imperium...sounds good.

The Imperium is more suited for a region rather than an alliance, imo.

I once planned on making "The Collective", but it's more FT

Thank you for your support. I hope that one day you will rejoin the efforts here. May we build what the SEC couldn't, but what it so intended.

The Imperium Crown or something then? Though I think we should leave the SEC entirely in most terms - try to be unique ;)

There is a ring to "The Imperium" though, it doesn't speak to an alliance, as Esternial pointed out. Hmmm.... The Soverign Imperium Alliance?

Err I'm fairly drunk atm but wouldnt sorting out the problems, of organisation, of administration of activity etc be better off being sorted before a new name.

And hopefully these talks will lead to a new better organisation.

Like I've said before I pledge my support to this new alliance, and will help in anyway you deem fit.

No, its too long - and it refers too much back to SEC. Remember, we're only really wishing to focus on fufilling some of the dreams of the old alliance IMO - though we should have our own ideals.

The Imperium Crowns? Or The Coven of the Imperium?

NO. I think it is best that the words "Soverign", "Empires" or "Coalition" do not go in the new name. We're not resarrecting SEC, we're making a new alliance in a sort of admiration of SEC, but lets try and be free from the old alliance. Otherwise people aren't going to let it get anywhere.

George brings up a valid point, and as such, let us depart from a naming convention and bring to light the current issues with the SEC that lead to its collapse. For one, I noticed it was rather disorganized. That differing opinions weren't always well-received, and that there was, including myself, and activity problem for some.

We must list the issues we had with the previous organization and see how to come up with a solution not to repeat them in the future. I beleive we need a strong charter, and strong leadership and, at such time as this organization finally gets off the ground, we will need to organize a Council or some other governing body. At this time, though, let's worry about our objectives and procedures. We must know how to solve the problems of the past to continue into the future a stronger, more united body.

The question: What do we want from this organization?

Tagged, as I was once a SEC member and had all intentions of rejoining. I would advise against "The Imperivm". The Augustus would haul your ass to court for plagiarism.

Ok, how about we all sit down here and write up, very briefly, a general idea of what we want. That was we can all see where we agree and disagree and, as such, begin to organize around our common goals and ideas. I will start.

What I wish to see:

1: An organization dedicated to the preservation and defence of those who are Empires, and other like-minded governments.
2: That democracy reign in this new organization as the one and only way in which things become official.
3: That we not resort to arguments (though they aren't always avoidable) to deal with issues, but use the structure we create to address grievances and, through open and honest conversation, reach concensus opinion.
4: That we remember that such organization afford the members an opportunity to RP together. War is not the only RP to which such an organization can lend itself. Even simply character and diplomatic RPs are ripe for the creation through such an organization.
5: That we remember that, in all things, whatever this becomes will be our own creation, and by that caveat, we are all ambassadors of this organization and such conduct ourselves in the manner in which all representatives should.
