Landmass Discovered

[Asumbuoy]

Recently, while on a long range patrol, one of our naval ships strayed off-coarse and spotted a large plot of land. For reasons still unknown the area was uninhabited and has not yet been exposed to the modern world. The Asumbuoy government has decided to take advantage of this new discovered land and has begun fencing off a small claim to be used as a naval and air stop and supply port as well as acting as a tourist destination. A (low quality) satellite image of the land is provided below.

The Asumbuoy claim is shown, it has been named Assa. We welcome other nation to make their own claim on the islands. The main island has been estimated at 42,215 square km and after a quick survey, does not look like there are many natural resources present. An extensive survey has yet to be carried out which could prove this wrong.

A small Factbook of Assa will be provided at a later stage.

Progress & Info of Assa

1) More in depth surveys of the land has shown traces of Iron ore on the north east of the claim.
2) Work has begun on constructing a town hall, housing estate, road, airstrip and dock.
3) Armed patrols have been sent to scout the surrounding areas to look for native tribes
4) Frank Moore has been appointed Governor of the colony.

We have yet to carry out extensive surveys and testing on the islands soil. However, in our own colony, there has been a significant amount of iron ore found. Since it is a small island, we believe there will not be much variety in the resources available. If you would like us to send a survey team to your claim, we can do so within the next month. This team will be able to trace any signs of natural resources and minerals on your colonized area. We also encourage to keep your citizens within the borders of your colony as the island has not yet been fully explored. There may still be some native tribes or clans lurking in the woods. There tribes may or may not be hostile to foreigners.
