"Comrades, today is a glorious day for our great Union! Premier Romanov today has announced the release of our nations first Dreadnought. Once again, Soviet workmanship outdoes the bloated capitalists of the West, for the Dreadnought is the most powerful starship Earth has ever seen! Already it is moving out of our docks to join with the first expeditionary fleet, where we shall show the Americans what we are capable of! WE, great SOVIET UNION, shall be the first to leave this system for others!"

A huge cheer erupted through the assembled soviet party members, all of whom were fully aware of Comrade Yuri watching over them. Nobody wanted to seem unpatriotic with Yuri in eyesight or earshot, and it took some time before the cascade of clapping and cheering died down and vanished, leaving the room in silence once more. Chuckling lightly, Yuri turned and left as the speaker burst into another loud speech claiming Soviet superiority and denouncing the decadence of the western powers. Patriotic drivel, thought Yuri, but it kept the masses happy. Even as the message broadcast all across the Union, Yuri knew full well that the Dreadnought in question was preparing itself to take command of the Expeditionary Fleet. While the soviets prepared their expansions efforts, Yuri descended a stone spiral staircase into his own private quarters, deep in the heart of the Kremlin. He sauntered over to his desk and sat down, flicking his coat tails over the edge of his stool.

Signing a simple sheet of paper, Yuri sighed. He absent mindedly placed the paper into a container, and then slid the container into a tube where it was whisked away to be dispatched to all the allies of the Soviet Union. Romanov was busy congratulating himself with a glass of vodka and some not so well covered women, despite the Dreadnought project being entirely Yuri's idea, and this irked Yuri to no end. So, instead of joining the Premier, he consigned himself to the pits of the Kremlin, admiring his collection of experimental systems and human brains, all seeking to advance the evolution of man for the betterment of the Union....

It is our great honour to announce the creation of the first Soviet Expeditionary Fleet. It is time for communism to be brought to the stars, and we would like our brave and powerful allies to stand beside us as we march into the cosmos. Our Expeditionary Fleet is grouping over the moon of Triton, and we would be honoured if you would join us. The fleet shall be jumping in 48 hours, so please inform us of your intent prior to launch. Thank you, comrades.

"No word from our allies commander. And the Dutch stole our limelight it would seem."

"Fucking dammit. What's the point in putting effort into this kind of thing if our friends ignore us and the DUTCH of all people get out before us? Someone fucked us up."

"Way of the world, comrade Admiral. Maybe that's why the Premier wants to leave the world."

"One can only hope, comrade. Plot a course to whatever forsaken place comrade Yuri told us to go to."

"Activating drive systems now."

There was a loud clanking throughout the ship as turbines whirred and gas fumes flooded the engine room. Engineers scurried back and forth, faces obscured behind gas masks as they rushed through the fuel room, making sure nothing disconnected or exploded. Faster than light technology had been worked on for a ludicrous amount of time by the Soviet scientists. After all, expansion was the ultimate goal of the Premier. Find new resources, bring them back to Sol, and use them to subjugate the filthy capitalists. But, as with anything not directly related to blowing things up, the Soviet Union hadn't quite perfected their Fold Drive. The anticipated thirty second wait turned into a full minute, and the engines ran hot as power levels reached peak capacity.

Finally, with a great expulsion of steam and petrol fumes, the fifteen strong fleet lead by the Dreadnought Vladimir Lenin vanished from the Sol system....

OOC: Shitty post is shitty, but I'm in exams so...yeah. dwi.
