The large room Lulham had just entered was the nexus of the Royal New Korongo Armed Forces, many computers were set up in rows, each receiving, relaying and sending orders to units all over New Korongo. On the front wall a large screen showed a map of New Korongo, locations of friendly and known enemy units were shown, Otago was marked red. "Colonel Buford, where is the CoA, CoN and CoAF." Lulham asked. "The CoA and CoAF are here. CoN could not make it, busy at Ohs Naval Base." Colonel Buford replied. "Very well." Lulham said as he walked towards the front of the room. Lulham approached the two men, "What's the situation?" he asked. CoA (Commander of the Army), Jack Ramsay, looked towards Lulham "Hello Brandon, not good I am afraid. Otago is receiving massive support from nations abroad and Sans Frontieres has declared war, if we do not act now they will become far too strong. Army Group Utah under Field Marshal Donnovan and Army Group Omaha under Field Marshal Tedder is preparing to cross the border into Otago, when they are ready just say the word". CoAF (Commander of the Air Force), William Beck, began to speak "SAFCOM, EAFCOM and CAFCOM are also preparing for an invasion. We have our R-19 Fantails patrolling the border and watching for enemy movement". Lulham looked at the map of New Korongo and thought for a whole minute, "Ok, when all forces are ready we will invade and get the rest of the 2nd Fleet to move in around Otago. Get the 3rd and 4th Fleets combat ready as soon as possible. I also want our airbases to get some long range patrols into the air and patrolling." Lulham ordered.

Ohs Naval Base, New Korongo
Colonel Buford had taken a V-22 from the command bunker to Ohs Naval Base. The R-19 Fantail was sitting in the water, the engines had not been started yet. Out of the Fantail CoN (Commander of the Navy), Jacob Devers, climed onto the dock. "Commander, I have set the message to send in three hours" Colonel Buford informed Commander Devers. "Very good, everyone else is already on board." Commander Devers said as he climed back into the Fantail, Colonel Buford followed. The jet engines began to start up before the aircraft began moving along the water, soon it took off into the air.

Santa Clausa, New Korongo
The fighting in the town of Santa Clausa. The rioters who had know been classed as rebels were cut off from the outside world but had still managed to hold thier ground, this was about to changed. To show the power of the Royal New Korongo Army an old M151A1D jeep had been removed from storage, it was now located on a hill which the CBD of the city was built next to. A man was just receiving orders on the radio "Sergeant, you are ordered to fire the weapon. Authorazation code Tango Delta Bravo Six Nine Three One". The Sergeant yelled out to his men "Prepare to fire". A man mounted the M388 round onto the M29 recoiless rifle and armed it, "Ready to fire" the man shouted. The sergeant looked at his watch, "Three, two, one, fire." he ordered. the recoiless rifle fired. The NBC suits the men were wearing would protect them from the radiation. A bright flash appeared around 4 kilometers away. The Sergeant spoke on the radio "Mission acomplished, round detonated".

Once there board one of the trains, they are owned by a private company so there will be no government personnel on board so you can take the train to Korongo City.

Fineberg International Airport

As discreetly as possible, Council Police agents in ordinary clothing disguised as Airport personnel were prepared to greet Marcheria's agent with the diplomatic pouch. The airport and the air force base not far off were incredibly busy anyway as Ossurwald and Estovakiva's airlifts were constantly coming in bringing supplies and equipment. Hardly anyone noticed two more airport personnel--even the arrival of a diplomatic pouch was barely noticed with all the bustle of diplomats and foreign observers associated with the peacekeeping mission.

Sidney Harcourt was not far off, but he just seemed like a businessman reading a newspaper in a crowded lounge. There were enough rich Finebergers who wanted to flee in case Vici Minerva really did attack and who now wanted their money back for their travel plans when that fizzled out. Chloe Weber was nearby reading a gossip rag; she looked very pretty and pampered in a tropical sheath and leather sandals, sipping a martini rather casually.

Meanwhile, Police Minister John Kohath and ULN Section Chief Erich Kammler had already boarded a flight for Sans Frontieres from Lookinghaven. Kohath had bid a nearly tearful farewell to the only beings he truly loved with affection--his three rottweilers, who panted and slobbered at his feet as he baby talked them. He looked at some pictures of them on his ipad a little glumly, hoping his staff would make sure they were properly walked fed and watered. He had left strict instructions--including to a maid who was secretly a major in the CP and would report all their activities even while encouraging them to betray one another.

Erich Kammler wasn't thinking about much at all. He was a fairly relaxed fellow and rarely spoke unless he really had something to say. He was infamous for using pantomime where speech could be replaced. They expected a fairly long and tiresome flight, and eventually both men slept.

Captain Bernard Cunningham of the Royal New Korongo Air Force was in the pilot seat of the R-19 Fantail, Colonel Buford was next to him in the copilot seat. "There's a ship" Colonel Buford said as she pointed to the north east. "Hmm, looks like a Ruvian destroyer but I will do a fly over to make sure."Captain Cunningham replied. Captain Cunningham pushed the engines to maximum speed and made a quick fly over, Ruvian flags could be seen on various parts of the vessel. "Ok, it is definately a Ruvian ship. I will land over there." Captain Cunningham said as he pointed to a patch of water several hundred metres away from the ship. The aircraft flew around in a large circle and lined itself up and slowly decended towards the water. Captain Cunningham pulled back on the throttle just as the aircraft touched down on the water. The aircraft was still being manouvered by it's engines and it soon came up beside the destroyer. After several minutes the people from the aircraft had been shown to the bridge. Commander Devers spoke to the commanding officer "Thankyou for picking us up. I am the Commander of the Royal New Korongo Navy although Lulham has probably removed that rank from me already. Most of the Navy is focused on the east side of New Korongo attempting to defend against enemy fleets which may attempt to assist Otago. The western coasts of New Korongo are probably the least defended. Also, the first fleet has been sent to intercept your ships".

Lulham was looking at the map of New Korongo again, from the reports on enemy troop movements it was clear that Otago would attack very soon. Lulham moved to a table where a Sergeant was reading reports of enemy troop movments "I need this phone". "Yes Sir" the Sergeant said as he stood up and moved back allowing Lulham to use the phone. Lulham pressed several of the buttons on the phone and waited for a response. "Good morning, Jack Ramsay here." Ramsay said. "This is Commander Lulham. Operation Basalt I is green, repeat, Operation Basalt I is green" Lulham announced. "Shit, um, sorry Sir. Yes, Operation Basalt I is green." Ramsay said, he had not expected the operation to go ahead with the enemy forces present in Otago. Lulham put down the phone then dialed Empire Air Force Base, "This is Commander Lulham, have a R-19S ready for a trip to Research Station Arctic IX" he ordered.

Otago Border
Army Group Utah began marching across the border. Smaller than Army Group Omaha they were still 700,000 strong. They would be tasked with moving north east and securing the cities of Davyville, Wakefield and Croftly. At nearly the same time Army Group Omaha also began marching, a force of nearly a million strong. The Divisions in each army group would spread across all of Otago, at least that was the plan. They would secure the rest of Otago. From airbases in Marton, Berry, Dover and Stillwater aircraft began taking off and heading for Otago.

The Ruivan fleet began Sailing at top speed towards the now Besieged Otago Federation. due to the fact that they were so close to the federation the Fleet's carriers began launching Interceptors and jet-fighter bombers into the air to patrol while more so were sent on an intercept course over the Federation within 20 minutes a vast air fleet numbering at least 120 Bombers, Fighters and interceptors would be flying all over the otago Federation securing its airspace against all attacks.

Three large, grey transport vessels left Centropygan ports en route to New Korongo, laden with containers of food, standard basic supplies, and clean water. No covert agents were on board those vessels, though all of the aid was tagged with the Centropygan flag or emblem. A conscious decision was made to only include a basic Royal Navy contingent aboard those vessels, to facilitate the unloading of goods and to represent the Empire in this mission. These vessels were expected to reach New Korongan ports by the end of the week.

Back in the capital, the debate continued over what action to take next. The Royal Air Force and various Intelligence personnel considered the Otagan proposal to land in an abandoned airfield; however, RAF officials were worried that New Korongan forces would detect their aircraft long before they reached the airfield and that they would have to explain themselves or risk blowing the operation. While the 1st Airborne Division of the Imperial Army of Centropyge had plenty of experience dropping soldiers and equipment in combat situations, it had little experience with covert ops. The Empire possessed stealth and high-altitude craft, but these were used primarily for recon and precision strikes and not for stealth insertion missions.

A frustrated Emperor Fawkes, after an hour of debate, swore to rectify this problem before the next international incident came up. Surely it must be possible to modify a stealth spy plane for black ops? Perhaps the idea of sending in the spies disguised as tourists would be best after all. But finally, it was a Royal Navy admiral who broke the deadlock. It was proposed to insert a three-person spy team from the sea: either from a submarine or a re-purposed fishing boat. Even then, the options were somewhat embarrassing. The Royal Navy had three types of combat subs: a trio of old attack/patrol subs, a trio of ballistic missile subs, and six (very expensive) submersible battlecruisers. The attack subs had never left Centropygan waters before. The ballistic subs housed half the Empire's nuclear deterrent and it was not deemed advisable to use one on a mission like this. Finally, the battlecruisers were superb capital ships, but it would be somewhat overkill to send one of these simply to insert three spies. On the other hand, argued the admiral, having one of these boats offshore could be useful should things go awry.

Emperor Fawkes considered these proposals and finally rejected them in favor of yet another idea: What about using a private contractor to do the job? Blackwater Interplanetary Security Services, the largest private military company in Centropyge and one of the few entities of any sort within the Empire to possess any spacefaring assets whatsoever, also maintained a fleet of submersible vessels used in mining operations as well as privateer missions. Perhaps they could supply a vessel and oversee the mission. Should New Korongo's navy discover the vessel loitering off their coast, it would be less politically explosive should they find, say, an anonymous boat perhaps two hundred feet in length rather than a 950-ft. Imperial warship.

Thus, the SS Dawn Chaser was contracted by the Admiralty to insert the team, comprising two male agents and one female. They were to infiltrate New Korongo posing as tourists from the Centropygan ally Flammeus, and simply gather what intel they could and see if the aid was properly distributed. The Dawn Chaser was a small but advanced vessel, capable of underwater travel as well as local space flight, though it did not handle well in the atmosphere and primarily operated either as a sub or spacecraft. Much faster than conventional military submarines, it was hoped that due to its small size and low profile it could sneak past any Navy patrols, and evade any that happened to discover it. Should conflict ensue, its best defense would be to high-tail it out of there; as with its weapons systems hastily reconfigured for underwater combat, it was still not heavily armed, carrying a guided torpedo launcher, laser weapons (not even deployable underwater), countermeasures, and small cannons as well as a high-tech ram.

With a crew of seven Blackwater personnel, the sawfish-shaped Dawn Chaser left the BISS headquarters in Adelaide, New Australia in the Outlying Islands to drop off the spy team and a pair of vehicles in a remote area of coastline...

We are still attempting to fully assess the situation, but remain sympathetic to your cause. Do you have an airfield available to which we could fly in observers, diplomatic officials, and military personnel in preparation for possible aid from our Empire? Also, the Admiralty wishes to know whether Otago controls a port that could be available should the Royal Navy contribute ships and/or supplies to aid your operations.

A final decision on the nature and scope of Centropygan involvement in the conflict within former New Korongan territory will have to wait perhaps another week or two, but may be stepped up in case of new developments. In the meantime, the Admiralty will prepare an expeditionary force and is recalling sailors to be prepared to man a battle fleet on short notice. Finally, any intelligence your government gathers on further atrocities or harsh measures taken by the New Korongan government remains of interest to us.

All across Otago, Marcherian forces dug in. Spysat uplinks had shown that the Korongan troops were massing on the border, with an offensive posture. Infantrymen dug deep holes and readied their RPW-38 Thermobaric rocket launchers. Massive Grunderbear tanks elevated their barrels and buttoned up in hidden, reinforced revetments. Fighters, bombers and helos swept across the skies, ready for anything that could be sent at them.

Lulham could hear someone knocking on the door of his office, "Come In." he said. Commander Ramsay opened the door and walked in. "What is it Commander?" Lulham asked. "Sir, Commander Devers and Colonel Buford have dissapeared but that is not the worst of our problems." Commander Ramsay said in a dull voice. "Damn, probably enemy assasins or something. What is our worst problem then?" Lulham replied. "We have numerous threats of nuclear attack." Commander Ramsay reported. Lulham quickly stood up out of his seat, "Holy hell, what in gods name do they think they are doing. Prepare our ICBMs, if they attack with nuclear weapons we will respond in kind." he said. "Yes Sir" Commander Ramsay said as he walked out.

Auckland Air Force Base, Easter Island, New Korongo
"Sir, we have an invasion fleet inbound." Lieutenant Joseph Ragwitz reported. Brigadier General John Cannon was very surprised, why did they not position there forces in Otago like everyone else? "How do we know, are you sure?" Cannon asked. "Satellites and a patrol aircraft" Ragwitz replied. "Damn, get everything we have in the air and moving to destroy that fleet." Cannon ordered. EAFCOM had positioned most of thier forces for an attack on Otago but Auckland AFB still had four squadrons totaling around eighty aircraft. Each squadron consited of 20 aircraft, an LY910 Squadron, two F-35 squadrons and an F-111 squadron. They began taking off as soon as the order was received.

Otago Border
While the overall goal of the invasion was to secure all of Otago the capital of Snug was a prime target, it's capture would greatly reduce the morale of Otago forces. Thirty divisions from Army Group Omaha were tasked with securing Snug. Army Group Utah was suffering heavy casualties and were not making much progress.

The Corporal tuned the Ship's frequency wave and Radioed in to all the Other MSF Navy ship, "To All MSF Navy, We Are Now Attack by the New Korongo Air Squadrons! Number Enemies unknown! Get into Zeta Formation and Prepare for Surface-to-Air Combat! The Soldiers got into their stations and maneuver the Ships into the Zeta formation preparing for a Surface-to-air Combat reading the Anti-Missiles. The Squadrons were soon detected by the SFN 'Titan and the First missile was launched.

DC-9 Landing after Proper Request in Sans Frontieres

The plane carrying Police Minister Kohath and Section Chief Kammler requested landing. Kohath sighed and put down his headphones--he found listening to Beethoven incredibly relaxing and it always put him in a serene mood--he was never really in a good mood, how could you be? The recent attack against New Edom had almost come as a delightful surprise. It would demonstrate whether New Edom's foreign policies were working, that was for sure, and would test whether or not a relatively small nation could stand in the kind of avalanche that went on in this world...

Kammler was a bit upset by it, but his duty remained--coordinating intelligence in New Korongo at least, even if the ULN was a dissolving organization and probably a dwindling portfolio. Would there be any nation to go back to? He didn't know. He could always become a mercenary or a consultant or something; he had little in the way of family at home and no one he was close to.

From the cockpit of the plane the pilot was saying, "Flight 730 FIA requesting landing--please advise that we have the diplomatic package aboard."

Nearly every ships alarm started blaring as dozens of aircraft proceeded to make a beeline for the incoming enemy fighters

Declaration of war on New Korongo

Admiral Yamégalét Minan sat in on the main bridge of the Akaran Class super carrier DSS Adéyan. as his contingent of the attack fleet left the harbor for New Korongo. "It's time to do what he should have done months ago" He thought. The new government of New Korongo had betrayed the ULN when it most desperately needed them and sided with the enemy. They would not get away with this. The Tehraanian military had already been preparing for the conflict between the ULN and the Brimstone alliance. Mobilizing an attack force didn't take a lot of time. The Invasion force wasn't extremely large but enough to take a beach head and push towards Korongo City and take out the government. The Civil war had already some other armies involved that would distract the majority of New Korongo's military. "Officer, I want everybody and everything in full operational capability and ready when we arrive. Speed is crucial for this operation to succeed, we can't afford a major amount of repairs and preparations when we attack." He told his second in command. "Yes sir, I'll send the orders." the second in command replied. "Admiral, if I may ask. Why do you think it gone this far." he ask Yamégalét. "It seems we weren't prepared enough and organised enough to handle the disaster that has befallen the ULN. But we must use what ever means now that it has happened. The government that had replace the assassinated one has betrayed us and now they will pay the price." He said with an angry tone. If it wasn't for the New Korongo government's action the ULN could have created a United effort against the Brimestone alliance, yet they had chosen the coward's way and refused to help the Alliance. Otaro supports the ULN but they are incapable of aiding them due to the Civil war. The Civil war had to end fast if some restoration of the ULN was to take place before the ULN was destroyed by their enemies.

This was the overall opinion of all Tehraanians, betrayals like this were simply unacceptable.

Several ships from the Entire Tehraanian navy and and two amphybious assault groups carring forces of the Tehraanian marine corps and the Airmobile 13 of the Tehraanian National Stormtroopers had been attached for the ground operation. The still loyal swkollians had also delcared war. Their contributions would be paramount. The Tehraanian forces would attack New korongo with one objective, remove the government and restore it to the Pro ULN one it was before. Time would be of the essence since their several attacks on the ULN members had been launched. They could not effort a long dragged out war if the ULN was supposed to survive. The fleet would meet on sea and them move to New Korongo.

The actions taken by the government of New Korongo were traitorous and one cannot stand by while they occur. Action is required to stop these actions before they go too far. Jack Johnson sat quietly in his office in the War Building, utterly disgusted by the actions of New Korongo's new government. How dare they turn and run in the United League of Nations time of need, how dare they abandon the rest of us just to fight another war. These actions are deemed totally unacceptable by the Swkollian people and thus we shall go to war with Tehraan to assist us in the fight against the new government of New Korongo. We aren't prepared to fight two wars, but this dishonorable action deserved a fight.

The objective was simple; assist Tehraan and establish a second beachhead to aid in the landing of forces on Korongo Island. Several forces were already mobilized thanks to a full alert in other Brimstone Pact conflicts. Several warships were even inbound towards New Korongo. This war must end quickly if there is any hope of defending the United League of Nations.

Otago
The Marcherian defense was going well. Although having sustained casualties, they were bleeding the Korongan armies dry. Tanks blasted enemies with their cannons, infantry fired their small arms with devastating accuracy, artillery and rockets slammed the Korogan formations, and aircraft wheeled overhead, dancing and firing. The Marchers were optimistic upon the outcome of this battle.

The massive BNS Victory finally escaped from her tugboats and set sail for the open seas. She was the capital ship and the pride of the Bellganamosian Navy. 1,154 feet long and weighing 110,000 tons, she was slightly larger than the Nimitz-class carriers of the US Navy. Constructed between 1992 and 1993, she cost 4.6 billion dollars, but the Bellganamosian Navy was impressed. On her flight deck and hangars underneath there were twenty-four FAS-16A Sea Venom strike fighters, twenty-four FAM-18A Super Hornet fighter aircraft, eight FAW-8B Eagle Eye airborne early warning aircraft, eight FAE-27D Buzzer electronic warfare planes, six RHS-36L Savior anti-submarine helicopters and six URA-9A Reaper reconnaissance/attack unmanned aerial vehicles. Victory's escorts included two Oceania-class guided missile cruisers and three Chester Nimitz-class guided missile destroyers. Three Bella Island-class amphibious assault ships carried the three thousand members of the Naval Infantry Brigade and their equipment, which included a battalion of the GVC-3B Salamander amphibious armored personnel carriers and another battalion of GVT-2A Tiger tanks. Also aboard the assault ships were an assortment of helicopters, STOVL Sea Venom aircraft and additional UAVs. Two support ships joined them from Ciercia Naval Base, turning the number of vessels to eleven.

The squadron of ships, now designated Task Force 62, set course south for New Korongo. They would arrive off of New Korongo's Southern Islands in approximately six days. On the bridge of the Victory, Admiral Mike Donowitz met with the commanders of all the various task forces that had been assigned to the fleet. The seven men exchanged salutes before the arguing began. The chief intelligence officer, a commander, spoke first.

"Sir, we have new intelligence from Tovort," referencing to the headquarters of the Foreign Intelligence Service, "that Marcheria is making progress. They've pushed the Korongolese back several miles. They've taken heavy casualties, but they're making progress."

"Make sure that the Marcher fleet off the coast is on our IFF. I don't want Toms flying at their boats. As soon as we come into range of them, I want immediate communications between us and them." Donowitz replied. "Allright gentlemen, what do we have on our new allies?"

"Nothing sir, Tovort doesn't have intel on them. But we should be cautious considering High Command hasn't made contact with their forces." intelligence replied.

Next it was the carrier air group, or CAG, commander's time to speak. "I've got a pair of Super Hornet's and an Eagle eye up at all times. Nothing's gonna come close to us, Admiral."

It was going to be a long six days, Donowitz thought.

Amidst all the chaos and war spectacularly erupting within the borders of the Empire of New Korongo and the surrounding area, it was surprising that more wasn't heard from the Imperial Government in Bispinosa. Rumor has it that the War Council's deliberations were crippled by massive computer and/or electrical failure, hampering operations to such a degree that the Emperor has neglected to give an update to the press. Whether this situation is due to cyberattack or less nefarious circumstances is unknown at this time. It may be a combination of both.

In the meantime, the Centropygan ships containing food aid to New Korongo continued on course, their captains apprised of the increasing violence in the area but having been given no orders to change course. The small spy team also continued their operations, hoping to keep a low profile over the next couple of weeks or longer. The Admiralty had not received word of anything amiss with the deployment of the SS Dawn Chaser, and it was thus far assumed that they had managed to avoid trouble. Still, the Empire was not well-versed in espionage and the silence could mean anything. If all was going well, they should be somewhere on the New Korongan coast by now...

Finally, Colonel Matheson and his Stealth Recon Squadron had yet to receive orders from either the CFM or the Emperor, but he decided to prepare his three, sleek Mach 3.5 spy planes and his seven interceptors, along with their refueling aircraft, for action in case they were ordered to gather recon on the unfolding war abroad.

OOC: This is due to a combination of my laptop dying and, just now, being the victim of sustained cyberattack. A new quad-core machine, VERY eagerly awaited, is finally on its way. I've managed to wrest enough control back to post, but I may be out of action for a day or two longer...who knows. Hopefully not! If anyone here wishes to claim responsibility for this, IC, through cyberattack or sabotage, I'm open to it. I sometimes like to take real-world delays and issues and write them into roleplay when applicable.
