Gharin: A history

Postby Gharin » Sun Apr 25, 2010 5:57 pm

I: The begining: It all started when the Missouri Rebels(The Confederacy) Seceded from the Union in the Great War. Then exactly a year and two months later Gharin declared independence, taking all of the Mexican cession (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_Cession) plus Oregon and Idaho. What was left of the now former United States formed New Amerika (Texas became independent).

II: Forming A Government: The Delegates met and decided to use the old U.S Constitution with a minor change(Added a provision that if banished from Gharin that a person would be stripped of citizenship). On January 20th 3001 Robert Corning was sworn in as the 1st President of Gharin with Susan Hafy as Vice President.

III :Mr Johnson comes to town: After the Congress met, they asked the President to appoint nine new members of the Supreme Court. For Chief Justice he picked none other than Matthew.C.Johnson of New york(came to Gharin after Great war). He picked the other 8 shortly after, all were confirmed 16-0.

IV:Deals and betrayl:
As all of this was going on the State Department had made a few agreements, one was to pay 12billion dollars to new Amerika for Alaska, another was a 4year disarment treaty with the the Confederates. Thats when tragedy struck,as the President was coming off air force one an assasin shot and killed him.Leading to Susan Hafys swearing in.

V:Madam President: A few hours later,Susan Hafy,2nd President of Gharin was sworn in(Same oath(with change to title of nation)as in the US),The new President kept the cabinet and called a meeting of the nations top general`s and politician`s,at this meeting called the Council of Nino(Nino means leaders in Gharinian, the unofficial language),at this meeting she decided to have troops positioned at the border, propose a new citizens only law(which was passed but would later be repealed)for transit and automobile travel and pass a similar law for guns, drugs, and alcohol(this would be repealed also) and require a new proof of employment or residence form(Form B,still in use)to be submitted in order to reside in the country.

VI:Peace: The President policies worked, for a while atleast, then some one else came on the Scene,California Senator Leena Houser of Fresno,She was a member of The White Supremecy Leauge(a Decendent of the KKK),She advocated for social reforms like White Day,where all Whites could kill an immigrant.

End of Brief History. Now constructing table of contents.

Key facts

Postby Gharin » Sun Nov 14, 2010 4:11 pm

The United States of Gharin is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, and renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its compassionate population have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Social Equality, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Sacramento. The average income tax rate is 100%.

Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gharin's national animal is the wolf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Paganism, and its currency is the gharin dollar.

Military structure

Postby Gharin » Sun Nov 14, 2010 4:57 pm

Branches of the military
.Navy- sea based offensive force used in combat.
.Coast guard- Protects sea borders during piece time
.The Army-land forces
.Air Force-Self explanatory
.Marine Corps- Second types of special forces, green bera`s

Army
The United States Army is the main ground-force of the United States. The Army's main function is to protect and defend the United States (and its interests) by way of ground troops, armor (tanks), artillery, attack helicopters, tactical nuclear weapons, etc. The Army is also the largest U.S. Military Service. There are approximately 76,000 officers and 401,000 enlisted members in the active duty Army. The Army is supported by two Reserve Forces which can be tapped for trained personnel and equipment during times of need: The Army Reserves, and the Army National Guard. The primary difference between the two is that the Reserves are "owned" and managed by the federal government, and each state "owns" it's own National Guard. However, the President of the United States or the Secretary of Defense can "activate" state National Guard members into Federal military service during times of need.

Navy

The Navy's primary mission is to maintain the freedom of the seas. The Navy makes it possible for the United States to use the seas where and when their national interests require it. In addition, in times of conflict, the Navy helps to supplement Air Force air power. Navy aircraft carriers can often deploy to areas where fixed runways are impossible. An aircraft carrier usually carries about 100 aircraft. Most of these are fighters or fighter-bombers. Additionally, Navy ships can attack land targets from miles away (with very heavy guns), and cruise missiles. Navy submarines (fast attack and ballistic missile subs) allow stealth attacks on our enemies from right off their shores. The Navy is also primarily responsible for transporting Marines to areas of conflict. The active duty Navy has about 54,000 officers, and 324,000 enlisted personnel. The Navy is supported in times of need by the Naval Reserves. However, unlike the Army and Air Force, there is no Naval National Guard.

Marine corps

Often referred to as the "Infantry of the Navy." Marines specialize in amphibious operations. In other words, their primary specialty is to assault, capture, and control "beach heads," which then provide a route to attack the enemy from almost any direction. While amphibious operations are their primary specialty, in recent years, the Marines have expanded other ground-combat operations, as well. The Marines are generally a "lighter" force when compared to the Army, so they can generally be deployed fast (although the Army has been making great strides in "rapid deployment" in the past few years). For combat operations, the Marines like to be self-sufficient, as much as possible, so they also have their own air power, consisting primarily of fighter and fighter/bomber aircraft and attack helicopters. Even so, the Marines use the Navy for much of their logistical and administrative support. For example, there are no doctors, nurses, or enlisted medics in the Marine Corps. Even medics that accompany the Marines into combat are specially-trained Navy medics. With the exception of the Coast Guard, the Marines are also the smallest service. There are approximately 30,000 officers and 153,000 enlisted personnel on active duty in the Marines. Like the Navy, there is no Marine Corps National Guard, but Marines are supported in times of need by the Marine Corps Reserves.

Coast guard

In peacetime, the Coast Guard is primarily concerned with law enforcement, boating safety, sea rescue, and illegal immigration control. However, the President of the United States can transfer part or all of the Coast Guard to the Department of the Navy in times of conflict. The Coast Guard consists of ships, boats, aircraft and shore stations that conduct a variety of missions. The Coast Guard is the smallest military service, with about 12,000 officers and 29,000 enlisted on active duty. The Coast Guard is also supported by the Coast Guard Reserves, and a volunteer "Coast Guard Auxiliary" in times of need.
