Go ahead and fill out an app; if I like it, consider yourself on board.

I'll give you mad props for finding some of the coolest stuff to grace the internet, but I'm still going to have to say "no." Airplanes are just a bit too much for this RP. Like I said before, try sticking to canvas balloons.

Sure, but I'd prefer if it were not bigger than the large FCT ships and I would ask that you avoid internal combustion because I'd like the R-1 to retain its state-of-the-art status.

I'm not saying it's something I would necessarily use, but, to satisfy a need, how about more of a Glider instead of a Plane:

I could live with that. Sweet pic, btw.

How about this: My Zeppelin is hand powered by two individuals, how's that?

Lol, all right. For anyone else still looking for an airship, I was going to kind of take these and just kind of kick them back a few decades and make them a bit slower, but I figured, meh, it doesn't matter that much. If you're still looking, you might consider taking a gander at some of them and reappropriating them for yourself. They were all built between 1908 and 1916.

P.S. OP will be up soon.

I was thinking Alec wouldn't have an Airship because he was a merc.
That good?

Hey guys, the IC thread is now up. Capt. Beaumont is headed to a pub in Medo and Adm. Voss is at RAS HQ in Port Vetreni. Just take a look at the map in the OOC thread's OP and pick a starting place that makes sense.

Name: Matthew "The Monkey" Blain
Age/Gender: 20/Male
Nationality: Fanaglian
Allegiance: Beaumont Confederacy
Relevant Skills: Very good climber, has gone through military training, skilled in close combat
Weapon(s) of Choice: Cutlass, small secondary dagger in his boot (could be used as a throwing knife), LeMat revolver and a crossbow, mainly to fire a grappling hook, but also normal quarrels and burning ammunition
Short Bio: After his parents died when he was five, Matthew grew up as an orphan in the worst districts of Quesani. He quickly had to learn how to survive on his own and proved to be quite clever and flexible as well as fast and dexterous. In the following years he had managed to build up a gang of children, most of them orphans, under his command, who had specialised in theft and burglary. Matthew himself discovered that he was a very skilled at climbing, which was useful amongst the burglars.
At the age of 15, Matthew was picked up from the streets by recruiters of the RAS and forced into service. At first he was a ship's boy, then was trained to become a full airman. As he had a problem with authorities, he was in constant conflict with the officers and was in the brig more than once in those years. Turning 18, he couldn't stand it much longer and deserted during a stay on Dehui. He hid by some old friends and then joined a pirate crew, where his skills as a sailor of the skies were needed.
Even though he has never shown the will to become more than a simple sailor and pirate, he has made himself quite a name. He has gained the nickname "monkey" for his climbing skills when he once climbed the outside of an airship's hull to repair a leak mid-air. He also has invented his own style to board a Zeppelin using his self-made crossbow.
Appearance: Matthew Blain is relatively small (around 1.6m), but his years on the road and in the military have made him strong and even more so have given him endurance, both facts reflected in his stature. He usually wears plain, functional clothes with leather boots. In battle, he wears a red bandanna to tame his brown, shoulder-length hair. In reminiscence of the pirates of the old days, he has a big golden earring in his left earlobe.

As my character doesn't have his own ship, he has to be on one of the pirate ships of the other captains. Who of you needs a helping hand?

Blain could hang out on the Tau Emerald with Shaz; they both have similar close-combat preferences and styles of boarding, and even similar equipment. I feel that the two could make a very good team.

It could work, even though they're nearly too similar. Both being orphans, they could even have met before. The only problem I see is that Matthew is more of a traditional pirate while Shaz is a resistance fighter.

Any idea on how my character could reconnect to the main group again? With the first expression he has left, I can understand that nobody wants to work with him, but that's how he is, a firebrand and thug, not a noble knight. Also note that he had a pretty bad day, loosing both his ship and his favourite tavern in just one day.
So, how shall I go on?

Well, you don't necessarily need to leave Medo. There are still plenty of signed-up people who haven't posted IC yet; you could TG some of the other pirate/mercenary characters and ask them if they want to meet up with your guy. Or if the RAS is on his tail, he could skip town to Quesani, which would "coincidentally" put him in the middle of the action when the shit goes down. Up to you.

Lol, I thought you were just waiting for a good time to jump in; otherwise, I would have told you. If you're looking for a sort of "den of vice," which to me seems like a place he would hang out at, you'd be best off putting him at the Drunken Fleece in Vetreri (not to be confused with Port Vetreni) if you want a very piratey town out of the way enough to develop his character a bit, or the Cadurci Tavern in one of the seedier parts of Quesani, which, like Avayu's guy, would put him conveniently in the middle of the RAS attack. Up to you. And like I told Avayu, feel free to TG around to the other silent posters to see if they want to meet up.

Anyone looking to hook up with Voss' men/the 32SD, feel free to walk in on on of the 32nd's sparring sessions. We're increasing readiness for the coming attack, and are welcoming any allied party to participate, so long as they don't match any of the pictures of known pirates that have been circulating through the camp.

Just making sure that everyone knows. I've come across only a few Novels that have done that, and I see people mistake that for any number of things.
