Posted on the IC thread, as I thought we might as well settle in IC the "how will everyone understand everyone else" question. And I know I would have trouble pronouncing names like "Mmrnmhrm" or "Llmvthv", so I'm sure the speaker plant will as well. (Unlike me, though, the hivemind's more likely to remember them without looking them up every time... ;))
This nation is a plant-based hivemind. It's current ambassador for interacting with humanoids is a bipedal plant creature standing at almost two metres tall. In IC in the WA.
My main nation is Araraukar.

Yeah. To the extent I have anything in my headcanon about the specific differences between your timeline and mine, it's in the vein of "well, EP's universe advances units of time at a slightly different rate, and maybe in SL's Edmund Spenser had switched places with Shakespeare as the 'bard' of the English/Inglisch language (hence the spelling and some vocab differences, even if culturally Lyricals are still recognizably post-U.S.Americans." Your chefs serve up a pork tenderloin or a skewer full of shrimp or a standing rib roast, and not only can we digest it, we'll know what it is and compliment them for getting it just as juicy as it should be. :)

There was a story on NPR (U.S. publicly-funded radio) a year or two ago about a guy who programmed a smartphone or something of similar size (google glass maybe?) to recognize the faces and voices of people he met, and tell him who they were when they entered a room or came face to face with him or something, and let him enter some recent fact (or maybe log their conversations?) - so that he always, always knew who everybody was and could ask them basically "How's [your wife] Sally doing with her soccer coaching thing [that you mentioned eight months ago]?" I'm going to assume my team, being under the auspices of the House of Diplomats, has something similar. Whether each of them actually uses it is a different question.

Oh, right. I don't know the exact size of a Gaia vehicle, but based on the combat simulation we engaged in forever ago, and general Aeiouian vehicle design, I assumed this was the size of a small building.

Tinfect: How big is Valeren's Locust? I recall it not being as big as its Mech Warrior source, but it might have mobility problems both on board the cruise ship and on Reckoner (although on the latter, it will be able to access many sections of the ship).

Also, Aeouia, I read most of your factbooks yesterday, even if many of them were marked as non-canon, and the Stim were very interesting - also I think Tinfect's WA ambassador or someone like that has mentioned them before in GA RP. Sorry I missed this the first time I read it. I'd thought they'd been transported exclusively in pressurized vehicles - apologies for not mentioning this beyond the first paragraph of the Ancient Warrior chapter here. If you don't mind, my team are wearing blue-indigo jumpsuits (standard zero-g garb for civilians, with pockets for pencils, small tools, personal electronics, and the like) with name badges and mission patches like you'd see IRL astronauts wearing today. There are changes of clothes in their luggage, of course, but this is the closest thing to formal diplomatic attire that anyone in space uses among our little pack of nations.

Possibly Appiah, being paranoid, is wearing the standard Astronaut undersuit - a skintight garment worn underneath one's clothing capable of sustaining life for some tens of minutes in vacuum (a hood folds out and over the face with a breathing tube and enough oxygen for the ~5 minutes necessary to get to a suit locker or an emergency O2 spigot) - but there's no reason anyone else would know that unless they know what the loose bulge on the back of his jumpsuit looks like, or they scanned him or saw him put it on or something.

My apologies for any confusion.

Will post IC soon's I can.

Oh, you are correct, they have been transported exclusively in pressurized vehicles. However, "space suits" doesn't necessarily refer to pressurized suits, which Excidians usually refer to as EVA suits on account of them being normally used as such (Extra-vehicular Activity).

"Space suits" here referred to the jumpsuits, which are no longer called such by Excidians on account of not having skydivers or parachutists for which they were originally named. "Flight suit" is a more specific and still generally used name.

I'm not entirely up to date on everything, but Aeiouia's original canon was a lot wackier than it currently is, hence the marking of everything as non-canon as Aeiouia transitions to a new theme. I believe Aeiouia will be roleplaying with most of the factbooks as canon for this RP, as that Aeiouia was the one I interacted with in the past, but with a more serious tone (hence the lack of drunk leaders or pyromaniac military commanders visiting us).

If it were the full-size Military Locust, there'd be problems, as those things are 4 meters tall. The IF Locust is only a flat 2, and it can get down a bit lower if it needs to. So, unless the average height in Excidium Planetis is 5'8, they shouldn't have any problem getting around.

Yes, there wouldn't be any problems on that front.

Oh.
Well then, I suppose the Imperial Ambassador looks a bit odd at the moment, he doesn't even have Powered Armour on to give him an excuse.
For the record, internalized respiration systems are standard, in situations like this, he'll be fine for several minutes. The rest of the team is actually in Powered Armour, so they could theoretically be out there for days.

Even at 4 meters, the Locust would have considerably more access than the Gaia, I believe. Sure, most doors are only about 2.5 meters tall, but the ceilings of many rooms on Reckoner would be 5 meters at a minimum, and a lot taller for many others.

But better to be roughly the size of a human, we don't have to cut through any walls to allow you access!

Tinfect, exactly how many soldiers do you have on the Amaranth? As long as it is less than about 160, I think the accommodations will be quite fine.

Tinfect, did your staffer make that inquiry about the Mmrnmhrm out loud? Or was it muffled by the power armor or something? Some of the members of my party would express... Concerns... Regarding your people's inquiries lolz.

Well, there's 7 per team, and 5 teams, so, that's just 35.

Nope, Excidium Planetis is right, I should have specified this, but whenever I reference a communications channel being used, it's safe to assume that it was over a closed channel. You don't hear anything out of Powered Armour that its user doesn't want you to hear, and Valeren's an AI.

The shade is tangible, it can be solid for brief periods of time, as if it needs to shake a hand, but otherwise if you touch it or go through it, it has the consistency of water, so the part would slow and go through it. Speech is well actual speech, as the shade can be thought as another creature under its owner's control that looks like its owner, so it is actual speech

Hmmm... I'll accept it. Normally I would ask for a persuasive reason for why your nation would have been invited, but after consideration, I think the government might actually have invited your nation, if only to try to acquire another crate for reasons.

He should only attempt that if he wants his head removed with extreme prejudice. :P
This nation is a plant-based hivemind. It's current ambassador for interacting with humanoids is a bipedal plant creature standing at almost two metres tall. In IC in the WA.
My main nation is Araraukar.

I don't think it would reflect well on my nation if one diplomat ended up dead and another assaulted.

Post up. Remember, this RP is more or less open-world, so if you want to send people off to explore the ship, that's fine. After I feel enough IC time has passed for brunch to arrive, we are all heading on to the dining hall. After that, we should be skipping forward to the arrival at Home Fleet.

Posted to bug SL's people a little. Anyone who doesn't remember the rocket pistol reference, check this. ;)

I believe Aeiouia will be roleplaying with most of the factbooks as canon for this RP, as that Aeiouia was the one I interacted with in the past, but with a more serious tone (hence the lack of drunk leaders or pyromaniac military commanders visiting us).

Yeah, the old canon was a bit too wacky (And outright cringeworthy in some places). The new version is considerably more coherent, though it is still not completely dead serious, either. Things such as the giant drunk space monster leader abomination are still around, but they do not appear as commonly, and actually have a reason for existing other than "Because it is silly".

I still have not gotten around to updating all of my Factbooks yet, though. Sorry about that.

Oh, right. I don't know the exact size of a Gaia vehicle, but based on the combat simulation we engaged in forever ago, and general Aeiouian vehicle design, I assumed this was the size of a small building.

I uh, do not know the exact size of one either yet. I have not gotten it defined yet. But, yeah. It would probably be safe to assume that "Small building" is an acceptable guess.

Aeouia's 512.99-A is an upload of a sapient creature too, yet classified as an AI, that's why I was asking.

I am not sure about how Tinfect's uploads function and act exactly, but remember that 512.99-A is an extreme case. All Stim uploads have been in such a state for such a ridiculously long time that their identities of their baseline selves have been completely abandoned. It certainly will be interesting to explain that to the Plant hivemind, though.
Future Tech. Dim-witted living starship creatures in their equivalent to the stone age, attempting to form a civilization.
This nation got massively re-written a few years ago. Any posts from this nation before 2017 are eligible for cringe and losing subscriber.

And the decimals mean that at some point it's been restored from a back-up with 1% personality loss? (Told you I read the factbooks... ;))

But obviously not the memories/thoughts of what was the case before.

Heh, one reason PPU decided to partake this venture was to learn more about all the curious creatures that exist. It's mostly used to various worlds' humans (and a few other humanoid and some magical species it's met at WAHQ), but only interacted and worked a lot with two peoples (my Araraukarians and Wrapper's Tollans), both of whom are at the MT level at most, so all this is new to the hivemind and it would be very interested to talk with uploads/AIs of non-humanoid origin.

NCLE, I think you mean receiving, not reviving. :P
