Postby Mercedini » Tue Sep 06, 2016 3:39 am

MRCTV
presents

Image

After recording Mercedini's best ever result, MRCTV have renewed SongSearch: Mercedini's Choice for another year with another eight songs that the public as well as international juries can vote on to choose Mercedini's representative at WorldVision 51. Last time, 7Seas held onto their advantage given to them by the international juries despite competition from Corine Alsomervic (who won the public vote) to win SongSearch and ultimately place 13th at the 50th WorldVision Song Contest. Here are the eight participants who are vying for your votes and head onto the plane destined for WorldVision 51:

01 >> Marcus Polton-Mishek - I Will Wait
Tune: Amir - On Dirait

02 >> Rhythm DMZ - Psiotica
Tune: Astronaut - Quantum

03 >> Le Ragazze Felici - CodeBreaker (Convikt Remix)
Tune: Yuri X Seohyun - Secret

04 >> Lucy Nohavn - Why Bother?
Tune: Izzy Bizu - White Tiger

05 >> 5CARLET - Light It Up
Tune: BLACKPINK - BOOMBAYAH

06 >> Melissa Darvon & Missy B - Power In You
Tune: Delta Goodrem ft. Gizzle - Enough

07 >> Rachel Nollov - Unbreakable
Tune: Dami Im - Super Love

08 >> Syren ft. Charlie Donliffe & Elle Borlaviac - Pay Day
Tune: Rudimental ft. Will Heard & Anne Marie - Rumour Mill

To vote in Mercedini's national selection, please send a telegram to Mercedini stating the song title, artist and the amount of points you are giving to the song. Give 10pts to your favourite, then 8 for second, 6 for third, 4 for fourth and then 3 down to 1 for fifth to seventh. The song that finishes in eighth place receives no points from your nation. We hope you enjoyed this edition of SongSearch, and we wish you good luck in the WorldVision Song Contest.

TheBandKnowAsStarFox selected as the WSC-Entry for Darkmania

Image
TheBandKnownAsStarFox (not to get confused with the Nintendo series) has been chosen by DaTV as the entry for Darkmania for WSC51 with a song those title has yet to be announded, but is set to this tune.

"I look forward for WSC 51 in (city, Country)" said lead singer Adriän Forÿg. "Darkmania has a history of almost getting last place, but me and my bandmates in TheBandKnowAsStarFox shall try to break that. I cant promise that, but shall try.

Qua Vola Gantar Pôr Neûmen - Who Will Sing For Normandy?

Welcome to Qua Vola Ganta Pôr Neûmen, the Normand National Final, which has been brought back so that you, the viewer at home, will have the chance to choose who will represent Normandy and Picardy at WorldVision 51, wherever that may be held. A wide variety of songs will be presented to you at home, as well as to a panel of international juries, and a Normand jury. The juries will be worth 50% of the vote, and the telephones will also be 50%. In the case of a tiebreak, whoever got the most points from the televote will be crowned the winner. The viewers at home will ring the number of their favourite act, and once all the televotes are in, the points will be assigned. Then, the combined votes of the juries, who will rank the votes, with 6 points for their favourite down to 1 for their least favourite, will be added, and we will know our winner. So, who wants you to vote for them? Say hello to your 6 acts!

(OOC: I was going to have some fancy graphics, but I've decided to save them and use them for something else)

1. CRAZIES - Dreams
Tune: DELADAP - King of the Divan
CRAZIES are a group of musicians from right across Normandy and Picardy, headed by Maria Tarchesha, a singer and bass player from Caen. The group formed whilst all of them were studying at the prestigious Cherbourg College of Music, often seen as the best in the country, and most of the country's entries have been acts that have studied there. The song itself is about chasing your dreams and living them, instead of allowing them to not be realised.

2. The Magic Circus - Pictures
Tune: Caravan Palace - Comics
The Magic Circus are an electo-swing group from Rouen, in the east of Normandy and the 2nd largest city, known for bizarre stage performances and cryptic lyrics. Within the electro-swing community, The Magic Circus are easily one of the best known groups and one of the most successful; they've had 2 number one albums, although they are yet to break the Top 40 with a single. The song... well, we're not sure what this one is about either. Something to do with evil businesses or something...

3. Daresala - Swings and Rounabouts
Tune: Blossoms - At Most A Kiss
A break up that didn't change anything and an affair are the subjects of this song by the band Daresala, part of the growing indie pop-rock scene in Normandy and Picardy, which is seeing a revival in popularity. It consists of singer Daren Malvin, keyboardist Jon Aretta, bass guitarist Jean Baptal and guitarist Marco Vullan, lifelong friends from the town of Bayeux, home to another WorldVision entrant, Julia Estiendre. The band has had limited success, but this song has already seen then have their best hit yet; 2nd in the charts as of now. Could this success be carried into WorldVision?

4. Marie Eslema - This Cage
Tune: Vera Blue - Fingertips
Marie Eslema is an up-and-coming artist from Caen, the daughter of a pianist and a banker, which meant she grew up around music, but also inspired her music - she didn't see her father much due to his business career. However, this song is not like that, and is instead an ode to the world and its nature, being both light and dark, and the lyrics and the music work brilliantly together to craft an entrancing story; Marie has a history of environmental campaigning, again like Julia Estiendre. Can she use WorldVision to help her career, and to help spread a good message to the multiverse? Well, that'll be up to you

5. Deuteronomy - Breathe
Tune: Metronomy - Old Skool
Now for something totally different, and this is a brilliant piece of 70s/80s inspired music from Deuteronomy, an incredibly popular group who have had hit after hit in Normandy and Picardy, although their style has definetly changed in recent years. A song about house parties and what can happen at them, this is certainly not the usual Normand fare at WorldVision, but the public is expected to really support this song. But will it's home support deliver it onto the WorldVision stage? Well, you, the juries, have a choice too, and you could change everything...

6. Suzi Armand - Rivers and Waterfalls
Tune: Betty Who - I Love You Always Forever
Don't worry, this isn't another environmental song (although it nearly was!). Instead, it is the tale of a fleeting love, as sung by Cherbourg born and bred Suzi Armand, a young singer who already has had a Top 10 single - that was her first commercially released song. Unique in terms of Normand music, although more like entries from other nations, the song has had a mixed reception, but it certainly isn't a marmite song. Still, it is up against steep opposition, so can it do well?

Right, I'll close the NF when I bloody like 'cos I'm the bloody host! :p (Bonus points to whoever can tell me what that is a reference to)

X Factor Reject Fiura Gula To Represent Kishrael

Notable X-Factor contestant Fiura Gula, known for her racy performances on the show which saw her finish 5th has been recruited for Kishrael's WorldVision effort for the 51st edition. KBA seem to be looking to build on the risque song performed by Luna Shaldit in Kasin, which divided opinion and become one of the most talked about entries. While not particularly successful in the contest, finishing a reasonable 10th, it went triple platinum in Kishrael and has since become somewhat of an anthem on the Kishraeli club scene - Luna's star is evidently rising and the KBA may want to repeat this success with Fiura.

The song however has a decidedly innocent name 'Im Yesh Lakh Ahavah' (If You Have Love). It follows the typical dance-pop style Kishrael is known for. A decision has not been announced on the language of performance, however the original which has reached number two in the Kishraeli charts is entirely in Hebrew. Fiura Gula will be aiming to revive the hopes of Kishraeli WV fans who have seen relatively disappointing results in recent years.

Fiula Gula - Im Yesh Lakh Ahavah
Tune: Noa Kirel - Chatzi Meshuga

OOC: All provisional, moving to uni this month and will be busy.

(Firstly, why does the forum extend halfway down to the far left of the page?)

Entourage will return. "Surprising" is a downtempo track in 3/4 time to "Amaze Me" by Union J.

Commentating, if I am not too busy, will be Robert Baxter and Sam Smith.

I think someones broken some coding somewhere, but I'm not sure. It happened to my old region's roleplay once, but I cannot remember what happened to fix it.

Missus X is back, but Rick Leg is having a break.

Instead, The Four Ducks will be entering "Quack" to the tune of "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life" by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.

Also, if I'm really not busy, I'm going to be radical and have Rick Leg commentating. Two commentaries. Oh yes.

“Welcome to the inaugural edition of Izmepisma. We got 9 songs waiting for their shot at Izmedu's WorldVision baton, but only one can have that chance.”

After 16 editions of internal selections, Radio-televizija Izmedu (RTI) has decided to pilot a new selection format after the rousing success of Marija Jurisic's song back in Kasin, Kalosia. For many editions, WV fans in Izmedu have asked and even begged for the channel to finally allow for a new way for the Izmeduan entry to be chosen for WorldVision. Following the recent Izmeduan success in the WV scoreboard for the most recent editions, RTI has thus launched Izmepisma as a way to freshen up the selection process.

This show has been planned since Izmedu's return to WorldVision in WV48, and over 1000 songs have been sent to the channel following 2 years of fielding entries from the Izmeduan music industry, from the big names that sell multi-platinum hit records to smaller ones that stake out their claim in nightclubs, bars, and social media. Now, 9 songs stand before you and the Izmeduan public. RTI now asks for you, the international juries, to vote on these songs. The ways in which your points will be combined and how to vote will be described later on, the songs are as follows:

THE OFFICIAL PLAYLIST FOR IZMEPISMA

Song #1
Edgar Ljolje – Overcome
Tune: Amir - J'ai cherche

Song #2
Medena Rogosic – Mirror House
Tune: Kerli - Feral Hearts

Song #3
Cajka – I'm Sorry
Tune: Jess Glynne - Take Me Home

Song #4
NIU Kuca – A Father's Letter
Tune: Stadio - Un giorno mi dirai

Song #5
Eva Tutic – Save You
Tune: Christiana Loizu - Phoenix

Song #6
Ziva Lipovac – Addicted
Tune: Astrid S - Hurts So Good

Song #7
Genoveva Ceranic – These Days
Tune: Lana Jurcevic - TABU

Song #8
Helena Dakovic & Arijana Kovac – Damaged Heart
Tune: Lindsey Stirling ft. Christina Perri - Brave Enough

Song #9
Dijana Vidovic – Life
Tune: Rebecca Ferguson - Bones

International juries will vote by ranking their top 7 songs in the following format. 12 points to their favorite, 10 to their 2nd, 8 to their 3rd, then 6, 4, 2, and 1 points for 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively. Your least favorite 2 songs will not receive any votes. To vote, simply send a TG to Izmedu with the format (and if you have a national final, let me know and I will vote for yours in return).

The final result of Izmepisma will be determined through a 50/50 split of the international jury and public vote. The amount of points that the public will give out will be determined by how many international juries vote for the national final.

DEADLINE FOR VOTES: September 25th, 9:00PM PDT (but will be extended if necessary) September 30th, 9:00 PDT

(If any of the above YouTube links do not work in your country please let me know on here or through TG and I will try my best to source an alternate video link.)

Loin d'ici was almost going to be used by Antahbrantahstan for '49, Hear Them Calling may or may not be used by Euski for this edition

Btw I think the current coding problem can be fixed if Mercedini puts the last [align=] in his NF post outside the [box] rather than inside it, please give it a try

Yeah it'll definitely solve the problem, I tested it myself (you can test it by quoting, previewing it, then fixing it and previewing again- your sig will be on the far left if it's broken and will become indented if it's fixed).

NWTV have internally selected the band Context to represent New Warwick in the 51st edition of the WorldVision Song Contest. Their song, Hyperrush, was debuted on the pop-culture-and-news variety show Lately at midnight tonight and is already trending on Twitter, with #hyperrush being used by over 25,000 people within the first half hour since the performance. As Instagram user @nevernotnina pointed out, this is perfect proof of how excited New Warwick is to be back at WorldVision.

Hm, and didn't do so again (post an entry on time)...strange......

Dans un pays, loin d'ici! I remember when I inserted the scores on my spreadsheet, Antahbrantahstan had one of the highest for song entries...so...

That's alright then, it will fill in the gap I will leave with my wonderful, amazing commentary which I am not going to do to 'take a break'. Instead, I will do my own lovely scoreboard to give out the top 18 nations (2 for me) ranked by me.

Mister X for the WorldVision Committee
#ShareTheBelief

Hi. I'm Mister X. I've been involved in every WorldVision since WorldVision 29 and have sat on the WorldVision Committee since WorldVision 35. In that time I am proud of the achievements that the Committee has done. Having worked with nine other nations on the Committee over the years, I have shown that I am a great "team player" and can work with anyone, an essential task for someone who wants to sit on the WorldVision Committee. In my time, we've introduced fixed deadlines, Committee elections, and have created stronger links between the Committee and the host, which, I think, has been a huge success and does not leave the host feeling isolated, particularly when the host has not had any experience of hosting anything before.

As such, I am asking you to keep me on the WorldVision Committee. I have experience, a drive to reform, and passion for the contest.

I have always stuck to four key pillars that I have always kept and have listed in every manifesto in order to remind you what I stand for. They are the following:

- To be harsh but fair.
- To give host nations advice and support.
- To be approachable and friendly.
- To not be overbearing.

And yet, I still think more can be done to improve the WorldVision Song Contest, which is why, if I am elected, I will push to introduce a recall system so that Committee members can effectively be "kicked out" without having to wait for an election cycle. 10% of the nations that completed the previous contest would have to propose such a measure, and if this quota is met, a referendum will be held on that person's future as a Committee member. If successful, a by-election should take place.

I also want to introduce a formal system of punishments for minor offences that do not merit disqualification - "penalty points", as it were. A certain amount of penalty points over a period of time would result in a one-contest ban. At the end of the day, I am committed to stamping out loathe and hatred for others, but not all cases merit disqualification.

I'm experienced, I have a drive to reform, I am true to my values, and I have a great passion for the contest; I am asking you to #ShareTheBelief and re-elect me as a WorldVision Committee member.
