Values
Formed under the Global Stability Pact, the UPN consists of powerful nations for the purpose of peacekeeping, humanitarian aid, and fast military action. It opposes hostile extremism like nationalism, fascism and communism that may harm international stability. Its values are based on freedom and justice to all nations or individuals; countries violating these values are prohibited from joining the Union. The UPN attempts to resolve all conflicts with as little violence as possible, but is prepared to deploy troops quickly and effectively.
The Global Stability Pact
By agreeing to this Pact, you are subject to all conditions. Failure to follow the laws set in the Pact will result in actions taken against you.
1. In a stance against imperialism and military dominance, the military of a member nation must not contain over 5% of its population in service.
2. To protect and aid others, members must somehow help (whether it be combat or non-combat) other members in wartime.
3. As well as protection during wars, every member nation must contribute some type of military support to the Peacekeeper Task Force.
4. Support of dangerous political radicalism is not permitted.
5. Support of terrorism is not permitted.
6. Though mild authoritarianism is allowed in the government of a member nation, your population must have adequate rights and freedoms, such as a form of democracy.
7. Invasion or attack of a nation for territorial, political or resource gain is not permitted.
8. All forms of discrimination is not permitted, though freedom of speech allowing expression against certain groups is permitted provided it is not violent.
9. Theocracies and oppressive oligarchies or autocracies are not permitted. Communists and socialists are allowed given they are fairly stable and provide the freedoms such as those in the application.
Union Secrecy Treaty
By partnering or joining the Union of Peacekeeping Nations, you are obliged to these following terms that have been brought about by the leadership of the UPN to maintain confidentiality of details that are important to the alliance's operation.
The terms outline that you are:
1. NOT permitted to in any way reveal information, documents, plans, or knowledge that can or has been labelled as confidential by one of the co-founders of the Union to non-members or non-partners.
2. REQUIRED to gain permission from one of the co-founders of the UPN to discuss the aforementioned details in an environment in which exposure may be risked (such as the NationStates forums, around non-members or non-partners, etc.).
In addition, when discussing confidential information with members or partners in a potentially exposing environment (UPN threads, certain chatrooms, etc.), you must use acronyms or codenames set for the information you will be discussing.
3. PERMITTED to discuss all confidential information and such amongst other members with no potential exposure or in private with members. Codenames and such are not needed in such a circumstance.
4. FAILURE to follow the above terms is an utter betrayal of the Union, and your status as partner or member will be removed. Further actions may and most likely will be taken against you.
Peacekeeper Task Force
The PTF is not a large-scale attack force for wars. It is meant for aiding nations in keeping the peace and dealing with low-level threats quickly.
