Also I think hosts should remove the postcard section from their bids, I actually can't remember the last time a full set of postcards got made in this contest.

I disagree. I feel like if some people wanted to complete postcards, then it would be fine to include it in the bid.

I really have the free time to do it next edition if I host it... Also Ekoz did complete the postcards last time

I wonder if this comment is sarcastic or not...?

You'll find out next edition

Also, feel free to post WV news in the OOC. I already do it anyway, along with plenty of other people. (Plus the fact more WV people will read it if it's here)

There's two types of news. Entry news and Bid news. Two different things. I'll make my entry news here. My bid news will been seen from time to time.

And also, I'm going to find out whether you were sarcastic or not next edition? I'm confused

Haha I'm not really being sarcastic, just dramatic. I'm looking forward to pulling Tödlichebujoku out of the bottom-half mess it seems to have found itself this edition though.

I really should have gone with "Don't Let Me Down". Well there's always WV50 or maybe even this WHF..

About 11 entries in and so far most of the songs have been really good - it's going to be a really hard battle to get into my Top 10 here!
The worst entries rated so far are Dreamplanet and Zadiner - 0 on a scale of 20 each (yes I know they're DSQ :p)

That said, I'm going through Arkan's entry right now and, because the original song doesn't seem to be available (at least to me), I'm taking another of the original artist's songs to give me a picture of what the tune might sound like. Why didn't I think of this earlier

I though you knew how to use proxies :P

But seriously, it's quite good ( it got into my top 10, anyway)

Edit: If anyone hasn't heard it/wasn't able to access it, the background music is fecking amazing

BVC MUSIC

Tess Phillipa & Daniel Richards to return to commentating WorldVision 49

Tess Phillipa, the current Britonish World Hit Festival representative, previous WorldVision host and the second Britonish WorldVision representative will return to commentating the WorldVision Song Contest - wherever that will be held. She took some time off as she is trying to win the hearts of those participating in the World Hit Festival, it's silver edition in The Sarian. She is performing "Overtaking (Help Me) for a chance to get the country hosting it's first contest.

With her is Daniel Richards. Daniel Richards used to be part of UCRTV, however, he has joined BVC because it was found that he was really enjoyed as a commentator in World Hit 19. Since then, Daniel has been been commentating WorldVision, not short of jokey remarks. This news is bound to put a smile on some of the nation's faces.

MISTER X TO LEAVE WORLDVISION?

Calls have been made for Mister X to leave the WorldVision Song Contest over a run of poor performances by the "No WorldVision" group. In a statement, they said that "we believe that Mister X is a victim of the capitalism that our nation endures and people are voting against us based upon our governmental policy on the economy". They also provided statistics that showed that Mister X's vote comes from the same countries every year and none others, but most of these countries have now quit the contest, which, according to NWV, is the reason for Mister X's poor run.

With no top ten finish in four years and Rebound not tipped to do well, Mister X, it seems, are perennial losers at WorldVision. MRX, the broadcasters of WorldVision, rejected the call, saying that WorldVision is about more than just winning, it's about the taking part, and the results should be respected rather than NWV moaning that it is unfair and should be redone. To that extent, MRX Television announced that they will bid to host the 49th WorldVision Song Contest and that Filius Deorum will return, singing his new single that has already gone to #1 in the Mister Xian charts, "I Just Can't Live Without You".

The financial Mister Xian markets have reacted well, with the T-mark value plummeting, which, in the eyes of the Mister Xian government committed to exports and tourism, is a good thing. The stock exchange rallied to 19,000 points. MRX are throwing everything at their host bid, it has been reported, with efficiency being a key factor. It was also announced that the contest will be held in Thatcher City if the host bid is successful. MRX did not, however, reveal the host bid, because it has not yet been finalised, but it is thought to be similar to the host bid that very nearly won in WorldVision 45 and the bid that did win in WorldVision 34.

In response to lower than expected average ratings for Vettrera during Worldvision, and lower than desired scores in the contest, the National Committee on Artists and Talent (Vettrera's governing body for Worldvision, and the administers of the Gemini Awards) have decided to hold a public contest to determine who will represent Vettrera in Worldvision 49. The committee has chosen 6 Gemini Award Winning acts known for either their critical or commercial success. The vote will be split 50/50 between public approval and jury approval. Though the exact methods of voting have not been released yet, you can preview Vettrera's 6 chosen songs here:

SONG 1: Best Collaboration
SONG 2: Best Song For A Motion Picture
SONG 3: Best Band Performance
SONG 4: Best Experimental Piece
SONG 5: Best Songwriter
SONG 6: Best Debut

Also since WV49 coincides with me starting college, I won't be bidding to host.

10 nations to go and all 38 nations still have a chance of winning, this is incredibly close, and if you haven't voted, your vote really matters in this one.

Yes it is, especially after those last 6 votes.

I have nothing to say other than...someone will have to liberate me in WV49.

Didn't really like the voting order man.

Britonisea, I like the way you tease us in your post. Maybe it should be a thing... with the person's RL name noted somewhere for those of us who haven't had enough
