General Introduction

---

1. The United Socialist Nation (herein, referred by the acronym USN) is a military alliance that was reestablished in the late 2015 with one ultimate purpose; to destroy IMPERIALISM and is supported by the one key tenet of bringing in 'World Peace'; . For an organization which can be considered still in the state of infancy, USN definitely made a bold strategic goal in the mainstream NationStates, but one that holds potential for community development and growth and with the demise of the former United Left - once the largest socialist, leftist alliance in NS - the USN, as currently the de facto leader of the NS socialist/leftist bloc.

2. As a potential leader of the leftist bloc, USN has a lot to prove to the International Incident community and at the present it is severely untested in terms of leadership, esprit de corps and military prowess. However, it is in the opinion of the leader of this nation that before the USN can claim to become the leader of the socialist and leftist nations throughout NS is is imperative that USN be drilled hard on the core essence of Alliance Politics and International Organization Building, and most importantly to possess a deep understanding on the Art of Warfare.

3. Hence, this Force Posturing and Military Combat Readiness Assessment and Evaluation Exercise, has been designed to test the overall command and leadership of USN in the essentials of science and arts of operational control for all levels of warfare, and test individual military prowess of every USN members, and most importantly this training is designed to improve morale and increase the sense of esprit de corp amongst all members of the USN.

4. To achieve this goal, THE MOST SERENE REPUBLIC OF AEYARISS, has volunteered and willing to provide full cooperation in conducting such high level exercise and hereby invites all members of the USN to enroll in this training and we implore all 'Proud Members' to participate in making the USN as one of the rising force in NS.

Well,we have to deal with the cards on my hand, was expecting more participants...but looks like half of USN members are puppets.

Don't worry about writing 5,000 words in a post like those higher level RPer.

Have fun in writing stories. But I do expect each and everyone to think logically; this will not, repeat, will not be a test of creative writing skills, Single Paras, 500 words, 1,000 words...it's up to you. (I'm not going to write usual storytelling either) but if there's one single expectation for USN is that for everyone to thrive for their best; constant improvement in their roleplaying abilities.

GENERAL SITUATION It is the year 20X6, the Republic of INDONESIA had splintered into several breakaway region. In the Island of TIMOR, the Warlord GENERAL SOETAR in command of the military remnants had consolidated into a form of dictatorship and is seeking to reunite the Island again by subjugating the rest of TIMOR LESTE which at the time of the invasion was under a Socialist government. On 14 February 2017, a reinforced Army Group - CODENAMED: BATTLEFORCE TACOS - totalling about 30,000 troops had stormed the border and quickly annihilated the defense in the AMBENO enclave and the survivor had been taken as PoW. The superior TACOS troops had quickly overran the defenses using maneuver warfare approach and on 29th February, the entire country had fallen and is now renamed GREATER TIMOR. President Ramos Soren and his officials however had escaped by means of friendly nations submarine an is currently in exile in allied United Socialist Nations embassy but he vowed to return and liberate his nation in the future. President Ramos then contacted the USN, appealing before the Security Council and had asked for military assistance, and the Secretary General of the United Socialist Nations had agree to form a Liberation Army. USN standing army, Code Name: RED LEGION had been activated by the then Secretary General of the United Socialist Nations, HUSSEIN IBN MUHAMMED ABDULLAH calling forth member nations of the USN to assist in the liberation of TIMOR LESTE and bring forth the defeat of GREATER TIMOR and destroy GENERAL SOETAR.

NOTES

• At this point, time is critical. The faster the response the higher the opportunity for quick victory. (The longer USN wait, the more time SOETAR have to consolidate and reinforced his position on the island, making an invasion more risky and harder.
• The leaders of this alliance will be severely tested in managing the entire operation and conduct of war.
• For this simulation, victory will be achieved through the defeat of GENERAL SOETAR forces in GREATER TIMOR.

So, how would you suggest we do this in terms of writing style? I can do character centric or military centric.

One that you are familiar and comfortable with. I'm only assessing on the operational art, tactical decision making and whether what you write is realistic or feasible.

Yes, limit to division size formations. USN, the Invading force, shall have about 3x times the number of defender on that island. Since the OPFOR in this situation is around 40-60,000, USN shall have about 120,000-180,000 forces.
