Farcaster gates and frontiers (FT, , OOC and sign-up thread)

Postby Genomita » Fri Dec 18, 2015 2:33 pm

If you read this, it means that you either volunteered or were invited to participate in our latest exciting experiment. My name is Escha Hadra, and I was given the honor of being the head researcher regarding the Star Community's Farcaster gate network. To give you the gist of it, the Farcaster network consists of a number of space-dweeing organisms that are placed within a certain distance to a system's star. Once they reach a certain size they become able to establish connections to other Farcasters regardless of distance or objects in the way. Our last joint expedition added further credence to the theory that all Farcasters are somehow part of a single vast organism, as well as provided us with the understanding required to further refine our gate system.

Now as for the purpose of this experiment, our research has recently allowed the development of satellites that able to create temporary gates when established. This effectively creates a short-lived extension of the gate network that allows access to the gate network even without a nearby gate. This new system also includes a grapnel to retrieve the sat so it can be used again later. Early tests using unmanned drones travelling to gates within the same system have proven remarkably safe, so now we need plucky volunteers like you for the next step: we will use the satellite system to travel to a more out of the way gate. But don't you worry! I will be with you every step of the way, so if you thought the Star Community would send you to your deaths, don't be.

Wether you are part of an allied nation or a capable freelance scientist, I sincerely hope that you will accept our invitation and agree to share your insight and passion for science in this important task.

It has been a while, but here it is, the sequel to the unfortunately short-lived Farcaster Enigma RP. Like I originally intended for the other, this will be an RP of FT sciency, mystery and possibly organic and eldritch horror, depending on how things will turn out. Our plucky group of scientists, explorers and their guardians will set out from the neutral Marja system to another gate. naturally, something is bound to go terribly wrong...

Like in the last mission, your plucky and energetic head researcher will be there to share hir knowledge on the gate system, though I'll try not to turn things into a lecture this time ^^' Likewise, captain Yles, hir friend and the person actually in charge of the research ship used for this mission will be part of the mission as well. The crew will also include a number of soldiers from the Genomitan Defense Force to provide protection for the rest of the crew. The research ship ship itself will be large enough to accommodate the team members and their equipment, and also house a a small squadron of recon ships in case they are needed. These are also lightly armed to zap off any beasties trying to eat their way through the hull. Each of your characters will have access to a room tailored to their species' needs and where they can keep their tools if they aren't comfortable or anatomically unable to use the one provided aboard.

Here's the character sheet:

Code: Select all
    Name:
    Age:
    Species:
    Gender: (if appliccable)
    Affiliation: (allied nation or freelance)
    Appearance:
    Personality:
Personal goals: (everybody has these, what does your chara hope to accomplish during this mission aside from the mission itself? Could be everything from "discover a new interdimensional species" to "sleep with all the hot female scientists aboard"
    Team role and specialty:
    Equipment:
    Anything else:

And here's the one for Escha:

Name: Escha Hadra
Age: 32
Species: genomitan spacer
Gender: hermaphrodite
Affiliation: Star community of Genomita

Appearance: Escha is a petite four-armed androgyne with black hair just long enough to frame hir face and light brown eyes. Like most genomitans ze usually goes about in a form-fitting symbiosuit, though ze usually keeps the face/head section folded away unless working in vacuum or an otherwise unsafe area, so beneath the neck hir skin is quite fair. Ze also has prehensile feet and is flexible to smoke with hir feet (if she'd smoke, that is)

Personality: Although capable of being every bit the professional scientist the is, Escha is hugely enthusiastic about hir work and approaches both lab work and especially field work with an amount of passion and energy that is either infectious or exhausting to behold. Ze has always been fascinated by the farcasters and the things they are capable of and, sharing hir species almost proverbial travel lust, has found hir true dream job. Aside from that, Escha is also very friendly, compassionate and easy to talk to. Ze always has an open ear for the problems of other people and will do hir best to help.

Personal goals: Aside from finding out how hir favorite space amoeba work, Escha also hopes to make new buddies and, as ze puts it "make beautiful science together". Ze also isn't opposed to becoming more than friendly with others, depending on the person in question.

Team role and specialty: team leader, resident farcaster expert and counselor, all in one.
Equipment: A variety of genomitan research equipment designed to link with hir symbiosuit, which is also capable of vacuum-sealing. Ze also has an internal air reserve.
Anything else: Nope.

Captain Yles is the one in sharge of the research ship and a close friend to Escha. The two have worked together on several occasions and, though Yles and hir crew are members of the genomitan defense force rather than scientists they are familiar enough with the nature of Escha's work that ze won't have to worry about them breaking anything important or otherwise hindering their research. Yles will do hir best to get everybody through safely, though ze also is also curious what kind of fascinating things they might discover.

Postby Arkotania » Fri Dec 18, 2015 10:22 pm

Name: Velarn Mizkos
Age: 59
Species: Human(cyberntic/psionic enhancements)
Gender:Male
Affiliation: Arkotania-Imperial Acadami of Xenoscience & Celestial Phenomenon(XeCeP)

Appearance: Velarn is a tall and lithe man, with a cold and logical air to him. Wrinkles reveal his old age, though some of them might also be from his stressful life as a academic and researcher. His left arm is onyx black, appearing like a long glove but in fact is a cybernetic attachment for his missing organic arm. On his head is what appears to be a black skull cap from which small optics seem to be attached to. When activated, these optics can be cycled over his right eye, aiding in his scientific research and experimentation. Velarn will often wear his official uniform, a pressed charcoal coat with a gold belt. The belt itself also carries various pouches, likely carrying scientific instruments. On his right hand, the scientist will usually wear a fingerless glove.

Personality:While he appears rigid(and is in fact rigid in appearance when he sits or stands), he's more frequently a curious and energetic man. While his obsessive personality takes time to get used to, Velarn is quick to respect shows of intellectual capability(despite the general Arkotani culture of distrust of non-Arkotani and especially non-humans). In the end, he is still a man of science rather than a military man.

Personal goals: The field of Xenoscience has long been a distrusted one in Arkotani culture, and as the infamous head scientist of the academi, he is hoping to bring back knowledge of a "xenoscience" of great interest and benefit to Arkotania and thus prove the importance of XeCeP.
Team role and specialty: Expert on techno-organic integration and bioelectromagnetism.
Equipment: Various energy spectrum optics as well as microscopic magnifier. Cybernetic arm is capable of various energetic manipulations of mechanical and biological electricity. It also comes with it's own analyzer system useful for field studies when they aren't near the larger instruments. He only brings along a large complex machine intended to safely hold organisms to better analyze their composition, map their electrical currents, manipulate the currents, and various other experiments.

Anything else:Due to the nature of the mechanisms and study field, Velarn will need to be located somewhere near the propulsion system(for direct access to raw power to whatever extent the team leader will permit, and because he enjoys being around large power sources). He will also bring along medical equipment that a medical professional will need to be briefed on to heal the synapses that connect the cybernetic arm with the rest of his organic arm. He needs to be put into a comatose state before the cybernetic arm is purged of static current, detached, and the synapses cleaned with a special "StemGel" that will regenerate the nerves. Then while still in a comatose state, the arm must be reattached and activated after being fully charged when it will begin it's process of re-attaching.

It will not be a frequent process but commonly Velarn will have to make the necessary fix bi-weekly(though in emergency cases he can detach the arm though it'll be a painful process, and he'll be in pain till it's reattached in the listed process)

*cracks knuckles* been a while since I've gotten involved in a RP, let alone a FT one(and I'm supposed to be a FT nation)

Name: Avaak Atanno
Age: 457 (in human years) / 23 Anglician years
Species: Anglician (homeworld of Anglici destroyed (unknown as to why), very few survivors)
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Freelance
Appearance: The Anglic race, being named by the first explorers to discover them, look like angels, and Avaak is no exception. Light brown/blond hair, cut kind of short, but put into a ponytail. She has peircing green eyes (they go red when under the effect of her curse(explained below.) Her wings are (of course) feather covered, but due to her curse, her wings are jet black. Otherwise, she just looks like a normal white female human. Her wings can fold in enough to fit into a standard human spacesuit, but it's generally uncomfortable, and she will panic if left in the suit for very long.
Personality: easy-going outside of battle, but when in battle, she fights superbly well. Occasionally has periods where her curse takes over, and she will hurt everyone in sight, including friends. This usually happens, let's say once every 3 weeks, but it's starting to get worse, stay longer, and happen more frequently.
Personal goals:
-cure the curse: as I stated, her curse is getting worse, and it will eventually consume her, turning her into an Arch-Anglician. However, there once was rumor of an ancient rune on a planet named Wigin, near where the planned destination of this "first flight" is. She plans to learn how to possibly cure her curse, before it fully consumes her.
-learning experience: the Anglicians in general are a very curious species. They will attempt most anything, after seeing it done once. Avaak is no exception. She will try her hand at almost anything, even if she doesn't know what to do with it.
-rediscovery: on the way to our destination is Avaak's former homeworld of Anglici. She wishes to make a stop there, and try to find out how her home was destroyed, and her species spread so thin.
Team role and specialty: Avaak serves in many roles, as she has been alive for nearly 500 earth years. Where she excels, however, is in science and combat. In combat, she uses a pair of shortswords, flying straight into the fray. Oddly enough, she refuses to practice magic (this may be connected to his curse, or the fact that her creator is too lazy to remember a spell list. Sorry.)
Equipment: twin shortswords, light armor covered in a white cloth originating from his home world. The cloth is stronger than most metals.
Anything else: not needed

I made a few edits here and there, mainly changing the frequency of the curse to about every 3 weeks, and making her female, something I had been debating off and on for a couple days.

Arkotania, your chara is accepted. Scandroid, I'd like some more information on that curse. And if he has a tendency to attack those around him he would at the very least be assigned a group of soldiers to restrain him if he tries. Either that or he would be required to bring someone to do that for him.

Name: Ossala c Uyenii
Age: 137
Species: Zaeri (Namoian)
Gender: (if appliccable) Female (with male genitalia)
Affiliation: (allied nation or freelance) Freelance
Appearance: 5 ft & 9 in, athletic physique, purple left eye & green right eye, jet black hair, snow-white skin.
Personality: Slightly xenophobic, shy, untrusting, loner, hopeless romantic, imaginative, protective, curious, athletic.
Personal goals: Learn more about alien cultures and become more open minded.
Team role and specialty: Guardian/Observer; Melee combat, survival.
Equipment: Vetedei (metal shortsword), Yenunenii (metal combat staff), Reddun (traditional flexible armor featuring cloaking belt, utility boots, and protective visor), universal translator.
Anything else:
On her name: Uyenii is her settlement of birth. "c Uyenii" essentially means "of/from Uyenii". A surname of this type is reserved only for Zaeri who have been disowned by their house(family), which is an incredibly rare occurrence. "Uyenii" means "Spring" in Zaeri'nay (the Zaeri language). "Ossala" (alternatively: Ussala, Usala, Osala, Oshala, Ushala, or rarely Oosala): means "Bright/Smart".

On her age: Most Zaeri live to be at least 300 years of age. Yos Namoi (the Zaeri homeworld) spins at the exact same speed as Earth, so a year on Earth is the same as on Yos Namoi, despite the latter being bigger than the former (they do, however, arrange months differently, and the Zaeri have no concept of 'weeks', while days are also the same length as Earth). A Zaeri between the ages of 15-270 is considered to be in the prime of their life. Zaeri, however, live unpredictable lives and can quite literally drop dead at any point in their lives (though, again, most reach 300 before this happens), the reasons of which are unknown. Some Zaeri have been known to live more than 1,000 years.

On her species: Zaeri are humanoids with snow-white skin, who are never taller than 5 ft and 9 in. They come either from their jungle homeworld of Yos Namoi (Namoians), or from it's oceanic archipelago-ridden moon, Yos Jmaon (Jmaoni). Their creation was deliberate, and their genetic makeup regularly tampered with, via a race of highly advanced, psychotic energy beings (whom they worship as gods) that disappeared around the time humans were leaving Africa. Roughly 64% of their species is inbred, as incestuous relationships are considered holy due to the lack of negative affects (which were "healed" by their science-savvy creators, which has basically allowed them to bang their family members without worrying putting offspring at higher risk for disease and deformation, both of which are already quite rare among Zaeri. Basically, their father might also be their brother who might also be their grandfather who might also be their cousin (it gets so confusing they just stopped trying at one point).

On her gender: Gender is different for Zaeri than humans. The Zaeri believe in two genders for their species, based solely on physical appearance. Both males and females are capable of possessing either set of genitalia, or even both, allowing for homosexual reproduction (though the norm is naturally that females have female genitalia and males have male genitalia).

On her appearance: Zaeri are never 6 feet tall or higher, they have snow-white skin, and black is their most common hair color. Her differing eye color is extremely rare (only visible amongst 0.3% of the populace, and considered a sign of good luck), like most Zaeri she is very much in good physical shape.

On her personality: Zaeri culture encourages distrust of foreigners, breeding a xenophobic and paranoid populace. Ossala, however, isn't as xenophobic as her peers, and is actually quite curious about foreign things. This has generally made her an outcast to her own people. Her wild imagination and social anxiety were considered dangerous and undesirable traits respectively, which only further isolated her from her compatriots. She's very protective of those who she likes, though is too shy to admit she likes them (even if it's just a platonic liking). Like most Zaeri, she's a hopeless romantic and believes in true love. Her desire to overcome he irrational mistrust of aliens is what caused her disowning by her highly xenophobic parents.

On her goals: She wants nothing more than to learn, and more importantly, to belong somewhere. She's a total "Loner looking for a place to call home" cliche. She considers what little xenophobia she embraces to be a stain on her personality, and wishes to become more open minded while learning more about the universe at large, which is largely unknown to most Zaeri.

On her team roll and specialty: Couldn't really think of anything a Zaeri could fit into best other than combat. She was a guard in Uyenii, like most females are in the matriarchal Zaeri society, but deserted her post (which is effectively treason, meaning she can never return or else face arrest and execution) and left Uyenii and Yos Namoi to learn more about the alien galaxy. Like all Zaeri, she was trained in basic combat and survival, along with elite combat during her position as a guard.

On her equipment: The Vetedei is a metallic shortsword that all guards and soldiers must carry, though it is only a secondary weapon. The Yenunenii is a metallic, retractable staff that has a variety of uses and is the primary weapon of all guards and soldiers (Zaeri don't have much in the way of long-range weaponry due to the density of their jungles which prevent long-range weapons from being very useful). The Reddun is a traditional flexible armor wore by guards, soldiers, commanders, and Chieftesses. It allows it's wearer flexibility while also providing decent protection from most weaponry (save for explosives). It comes with a full-face visor that protects the wearer's face, a miniature cloaking device built into it's belt which allows the user to blend with the environment for as long as 15 hours before having to cool off, and utility boots capable of allowing it's wearer the ability to scale solid surfaces, such as walls or ceilings. She has with her a specially made universal translator from Yos Vanor (the capital of Yos Namoi), it is worn around the neck like a collar, and allows the user the ability to communicate with other species without either individual actually knowing the others native language. It currently is only capable of translating Genomitan, Vogegan, both Namoian & Jmaoni dialects of Zaeri'nay, and Scav. It is capable of scanning other languages from computers and similar devices (via a chip that can be removed from the collar and inserted into the device much like a flashdrive) and discovering already existing translations of them and reinterpreting them in Zaeri'nay.

Let's start by elaborating a bit more on his curse. This curse has been in his family since at least 4 generations back (about 4500-5000 ago, earth wise.) The legends stretch back much farther. Once, long ago, there was a mage who was called Sampso the Green. He created a special item that could detect when the curse was about to take over, and would bind them until it subsided. That is the white cloth Avaak wears today. However, the fabric is growing ever so slightly weaker. This is why Avaak is mainly going on this trip, as all legends state that Sampso the Green hails from the planet Wigin. He hopes to either find more of the mysterious cloth, or find a cure altogether. Thus, he shall be the first of his lineage in recorded history to be free of the curse.
Because of this cloth, whenever the curse takes over, Avaak is basically helpless. And, as stated above, it's starting to happen more frequently, and for longer.

Alright, you're both accepted ^^ And that is a lot of information on Ossala, I'm impressed and glad to see you're putting so much effort into your chara. I'd like to see a couple more people join before I get things started, but if we don't get any new people in the next few days I'm going to post the OP anyway. This thread will then remain open for applications until the research ship actually enters the gate network in case someone gets interested.

    Name: Hj (Pronounced Iugj)
    Age: 6 years
    Species: YMS-58
    Gender: Both (if appliccable)
Affiliation: Freelance, comes from planet owned by Yymea (allied nation or freelance)
Appearance: Hj has gray skin, with a texture similar to crumpled tissue paper. Its body is dome shaped, and it doesn't have a head. It absorbs nutrients with its skin, but only has to eat every three days. It doesn't have eyes, but inflates his skin into a large balloon to inspect the surrounding area, as small tentacle-like protuberances touch around, which can also be used to grab objects, and in self-defense, as they can secrete powerful toxins. If the area is in an exterior, it can inflate indefinitely. The lack of mouth doesn't stop it from communication, as its interior can light up, forming letters from languages it knows. To move, it quickly inflates its downer area, propulsing it highly. To move in interiors, it has practiced using his downer area to slide in floors, but it has trouble doing so. It is 1 metre 3 centimetres in length and 68 centimetres in height, however it is much larger when inflated. His downer part is sticky enough to store objects there, as it covers them with a mucous substance that makes them not fall off.
Personality: Slightly naive, very curious, can get quite angry. It manages to keep its composture in tense situations.
Personal goals: Becoming well known (everybody has these, what does your chara hope to accomplish during this mission aside from the mission itself? Could be everything from "discover a new interdimensional species" to "sleep with all the hot female scientists aboard"
Team role and specialty: Cartographer and pathfinder, as the YMS-58 are extremely good at evaluating the surrounding landscape.
Equipment: Machete, for densely forested areas, paper and pencil, dictionary with over 100 languages, in paper, and small gun.
Anything else: The species of YMS-58 was the 58th species discovered in the planet of YM-1. It is also the only non-plant species, and the only sentient being. There were only 1.213 of them, and most of them are still in their original communities, except for a few that live in human cities. (I will provide more information later)

It's mostly there for those who don't know anything about the Zaeri (i.e. everyone but you). Ossala is going to be that loner girl who stumbles into the big, bad world galaxy and discovers a bunch of weird shit that makes her very confused and maybe even scared a little. She's like Pocahontas in England.

As a side note, the Anglicians are happiest when they're flying. They are massively claustrophobic, and generally dislike being inside anyway.

Hj seems like a fascinating character. I wish more people would rp nations of nonhumanoid aliens, though I'm aware that those can be a challenge to write and roleplay properly.

As for you scandroid, I'm not surprised. Most species capable of active flight tend to prefer open areas where they can spread their wings. However, a claustrophobiac would have a hard time on all but the largest Genomitan ships. Due to their plantlike nature underneath the armor the insides of most Star Community ships tend to be rather warm and somewhat cramped, not unlike the insides of a submarine. Additionally the Genomitans are rather efficient and purpose-oriented as well as comfortable sharing limited space with others. Rooms for crew members are all the same size and are usually shared, but your character is welcome to spend his free time in either the mess hall or the meditation chamber recently installed for the two newest members of captain Yles' crew.

And I'm sure you'll get your chance to take a walk outside once the ship has entered the gate network. Sooner or later.

We'll start after the holidays once I have access to my computer again.

And I'm sure Alran will be in for a fascinating trip since Genomitan tech is largely organic (like 90% or so) and they'll spend much of their time on a living ship. There's probably at least one Genomitan biotech expert in the crew Alarn can compare notes with.

Oops, if it is right after the holidays I'm going to have to post on mobile, so maybe expect shorter posts.

I've been posting on mobile the whole time. It's not that bad, if you don't use the app. The app, from what I heard, is terrible.

OOC: Hi! As the thread isn't tagged 'closed' and OP hasn't posted about character applications closing, I'm hoping I can still get in. This looks fun and exciting.

Name: Olivia Robinson

Age: 88 (chronologically).

Species: Heavily modified Homo sapiens.

Gender: Identifies as female.

Affiliation: Citizen of the Commonwealth. Former soldier. Adjunct professor of biocybernetics at Yelan Central U (on sabbatical). Freelancing.

Appearance: Due to a combination of combat injuries, a particularly degenerative condition, and a somewhat divergent aesthetic sense, Olivia's current body is fully robotic. Her base form is a mobile metal endoskeleton in the vague shape of a human - head, torso, two arms, two legs - but could not conceivably be mistaken for one, somewhat resembling this. The front and top of her head are overlaid with a powered display surface. It is usually featureless except for two large blue illuminated circles, which mark her EM sensors ('eyes') and serve to anthropomorphise her somewhat. Olivia is known to accessorise her structural skeleton, usually with ballistic armour.

Personality: Olivia's personality is much as it was before her voluntary cyberconversion - usually taciturn, occasionally indulging in dry humour, and a tad crotchety.

Personal goals: Olivia's stated goal in joining the expedition is simply the advancement of science, especially across her wide variety of specialist fields (cybernetics, biocybernetics, xenotechnology, etc.) This is considered consistent with her observed personality. Acquired data indicate she may have some more personal motivations (cleared readers are advised to refer to file HURRIED VISITOR/#00001-68: Precis of YCU Human Resources intervention meeting with Associate Professor Robinson, 17 May 2300).

Team role and specialty: Electronic intrusion/file recovery and reconstruction specialist; backup pilot and gunner; general systems engineer; light reconnaissance (as Olivia's base mass is considerably less than that of a comparable organic, and her surface temperature is ambient, she enjoys a slight stealth advantage).

Equipment: Onboard utilities (flashlight, communications suite, adaptive interface tool) and contact defence systems; detachable ballistic armour plates, two optional additional arms, and engineering support modules in transport case; replacements for key modules in additional, significantly harder, transport case; electrolaser stun pistol; light selective-fire kinetic rifle.

Anything else: Olivia's voice is quite indistinguishable from her original voice and quite as expressive, save for the deliberate addition of a slight vocoding effect. She speaks Standard with a Received Pronunciation accent.

Thanks for joining ^^ Olivia will likely get some odd looks, but it's not like the Genomitans driscriminate against people who replace their entire bodies with cybernetics.

Sorry about the double post. I just wanted to let you know that I should be back home tomorrow evening or so, so I'll try to get the OP ready either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

At the risk of tossing out another augmented organic specimen, here's my submission. If submissions are closed, at least if gave me something to do for an hour or so. :)

Name: Jessa Kresh
Age: 65 years
Species: Argonian
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Argonian Machine Cult, Division of External Studies (Independent of the Empire, yet allied)
Appearance: Standing roughly five and a half feet in height, Jessa is biologically short for her species. She is slightly built, again very much so for her species. Jessa lacks a serious ranking in the machine cult, and as such lacks a degree of augmentation commonly seen among more public members of the organization. Jessa still retains most of her organic components, aside from extensive augmentation to her brain to improve both memory and information cataloging. Jessa retains a pair of chrome metallic bands running vertically down her snout in a nod to organic aesthetics, an effect she finds 'pretty'. Her clothing choice is typically a gunmetal-gray robe with a wide hood, made from a simple and rather heavy fabric laced with lightweight ballistic fiber.

Personality: Adept Kresh is still quite young by cult standards and still retains an edge of curiosity and wonder about the wider universe and the workings therein. Her experience in the field is limited, and while she has experienced a number of dangerous assignments she tends to get wrapped up in her thoughts and occasionally ignore dicey situations. Being a junior adept, she is also considered expendable to a degree in the sense that her loss will not impact the workings of the cult in any mathematically quantifiable manner, however the knowledge concerning the inner workings of her parent organization is highly sensitive and guarded jealously. To that end, she has been appointed a minder to ensure that in the event of her demise the data concerning the cult does not fall into the wrong hands. Adept Kresh's fascination with inter-dimensional travel and biological life (two strange and oddly-specific fields of study) made her a natural choice for this operation.

Personal goals: To learn more about the 'Farcaster' species and explore its potential use as a means of interstellar conveyance for the Argonian Interstellar Empire
Team role and specialty: Organic lifeforms and inter-dimensional travel
Equipment: Gunmetal-gray cult Adept robe, extensively-augmented brain, data-pad
Anything else: As the character was developed for the RP we'll see how she evolves.

Name: FRNK-1187 'Frank'
Age: Indeterminate
Species: Argonian (Heavily augmented)
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Argonian Machine Cult, Division of Combative Studies
Appearance: 'Frank' is a product of the obsessively result-oriented Combative Studies division of the Argonian machine-cult, a six and a half foot tall combination of stimulant-built muscle and combat augmentics. His physical form is an ideal combination of size and strength, relative to the amount of enhancements and redundant sub-systems packed into his body. Broad-shouldered and powerfully-built, 'Frank's arms are heavy-duty combat augmentics proportional to his brutish size, and titanium-black in color. The forearms conceal a pair of mono-edged blades roughly twelve inches in length, while the arms themselves can channel a non-lethal high-voltage/low-amperage electrical current to incapacitate foes. A miniaturized multi-laser is mounted over his left shoulder, fed from his internal power unit. 'Frank's left eye has been replaced with a smart-linked combat-grade optical heads-up display unit (HUD) in a matching shade of metallic as his arm augmentics, and allows him to monitor his own internal biometrics as well as those of his assigned charge, Adept Jessa Kresh. Being that his augmentics are intended to enhance his combative prowess, the fingers on his hands excel at forming a variety of martial shapes (fists, knife-hands, open-palms) but aren't well-suited for use for fine-motor tasks like typing or precision maintenance. Like most members of his organization, 'Frank' typically wears a gunmetal-gray garment (in his case, a tabard bound at the waist by a cord made from interlacing microscopic chains and cargo-style pants) that hide most of his enhancements, aside from his arms. A heavy las-pistol is worn on his right thigh in a form-fitting plastek holster, affixed to his leg augmentics. No aspect of his personal appearance is intended to be aesthetically-pleasing, and intended only to perform in combat.

Personality: Despite his impersonal designation, Senior Legatus FRNK-1187 is a sentient being, capable of independent thought and emotion. Sadly, he views such 'weaknesses of the flesh' as pointless and inefficient, and he comes off as a taciturn and generally gloomy individual. Unlike his designated protective charge, 'Frank' has traveled extensively in the wider universe in the service of the machine cult and intimately understands the dangers and challenges inherent in his duties and the duties of those he is assigned to protect. He generally tolerates the eccentric nature of his current charge, simply shuffling her out of danger's path with little more than a bored grunt and a roll of his remaining organic eye. 'Frank' is a living (mostly) weapon in every sense of the word and exists only as an implement of war in the eyes of the machine cult. He enjoys and excels in that role, although he will not outwardly express or admit to such emotions.

Personal goals: The safety of Adept Jessa Kresh
Team role and specialty: 'Frank' is present to ensure the well-being of Adept Kresh and doesn't foresee himself filling a specific role in the wider 'team' concept. He is, however, very good at close combat and powerful enough to move heavy things.
Equipment: Heavily-augmented body, integrated fore-arm blades, shoulder-mounted multi-laser; encyclopedic knowledge of close combat, tactics, and protective operations; heavy las-pistol
Anything else: Again, this one was invented solely for this RP, and he will evolve accordingly. (Hopefully)
