Tödlichebujoku won the 21st World Hit Festival.

About + How It Works
The World Hit Festival (WHF) is a song competition. Each participating nation may enter 1 song and artist into the contest, and it will be performed. Lyrics must be written by the user, thus no instrumental songs are allowed. Users may enter up to 2 more puppet nations, adding to a total of 3 overall.
Later, each nation must vote for their favourites by giving 5 points to their favourite song, 4 points to their 2nd favourite, and so on. Nations are only allowed to get a maximum of 8 points from the user's puppets (meaning that, Nation 1 can receive 4 points from Nation 2 and Nation 3 each, if all 3 nations belong to the same user. Nations 2 and 3 can still receive points from each other.)
Votes are to be submitted by telegram to the host country, who will publish them. Afterwards, a winner will be announced and the current edition of the WHF will end, and signups for the next WHF will be opened.

Here is a statistical database of participants in WHF history, and here is a list of every World Hit Festival ever, along with links to the IC and OOC threads.

For the contest, 3 threads will be opened. The first is the Signups/OOC thread, this one. The second is known as a Draft Thread. You will post your performances here. The final one is the IC thread. The host will copy your performances from the Draft Thread. You will be able to post commentary here.

You can use the most recent World Hit Festival (WHF21) as a reference. Still, feel free to ask questions!

Schedule
Signups close: TBD

Voting announcement (results): TBD

Signing up
To sign up, fill the form below. You do not have to have a complete initial sign-up. A post saying that you'll participate is okay, but you'll have to complete the rest eventually. If you want to have a national final, feel free to post it in this thread.
Code: Select all
[box]Nation:
Broadcaster:

Song Title:
Artist:
Language(s):
Title Transcription (if required):
Title Translation (if required):
Tune: [/box]

The form will look like the contents of the spoiler below. In the spoiler, there is also an explanation of each part.
Nation: Self-explanatory
Broadcaster: Each nation has a broadcaster, usually the national broadcaster, who will transmit the show in your nation. For example, the BBC is the UK broadcaster for Eurovision and broadcasts the event to the UK.

Song Title: Self-explanatory
Artist: The artist who will perform the song. You are expected to RP the performance in the draft thread later on.
Language(s): The languages of the song's lyrics.
Title Transcription (if required): If your song's title is in another alphabet, then this is where you fill the romanized title (for example, a song whose original title is "Мамо" would be romanized as "Mamo". Otherwise, you can omit this part completely.
Title Translation (if required): If your song's title is in another language, fill in the English translation here. Otherwise, you can omit this part completely.
Tune: Most songs in the World Hit Festival use the melody of an already existing tune, and the user only rewrites the lyrics. Self-written tunes are rare, but welcomed and appreciated. Some users choose to not use a tune for their song, but if you do, write here the tune which you are using.

If you want to see an example, scroll down, since experienced nations are more likely to sign up earlier.

After a series of back and forth bids from ØTV and STE Tvee (STE Two) to win the rights to broadcast the WHF, it was announced that STE Tvee had secured a three-edition contract to broadcast the contest. This comes as a victory for the national broadcaster, whose main channel STE One (STE Een) broadcasts the WorldVision Song Contest.

STE Tvee, the second most watched of the STE franchise and has the highest viewership of the 16-25 demographic thus confirmed Ekoz's participation in the 22nd World Hit Festival. "Vår Melodi før... Todliekkesrepublik" (Our Song for Todlichebujoku) will serve as the selection of the Ekozian entrant. STE Tvee will announce the participants of VMFT shortly.

Oh no, it's the good kind of gay. I'm planning on making the song about a tourist who doesn't notice that he's entered a Pracib gay bar until it's too late, upon which he exclaims 'Everyone is Gay!', hence the title.

If you really want to fuck ants, sure. Just to be safe, fucking ants is a Dutch saying (albeit translated by myself into English) and I'm not trying to insult anyone. Anyway, what I'm saying is that out of the various definitions of gay, I find the best one to be the one about the sexuality of a person, especially as that is the primary definition of the word nowadays. The fact that most gays are gay according to more than one definition is just an additional benefit.

Or are you saying that being gay is bad?

With the rights of broadcasting the World Hit Festival in the hands of the STE (Servå Televisie Ekoese, also known as Ekoeses Televisie), STE Tvee announced they would be holding a national selection to determine the Ekozian representative at the 22nd contest in Todlichebujoku.

As the STE are testing the waters in terms of the selection of an artist/song, only three finalists will compete for the title as Ekozian representative.

Melodi #1
Jørge Faelstrom - Never Alone

Melodi #2
Magnigimuß D'Traganza - Just Let Go (Be That Hoe)

Melodi #3
Anna Dørstrid - I've Only Just Begun

Simply telegram Ekoz your votes, awarding your favourite act 12 points, second favourite 10 points and your least favourite 8 points.

Well, there's the homosexual gay, and then there's the happy gay. You said ''no, the good gay'' as in the homosexual gay, but that implies that being happy is bad. Get my drift?

And no, being homosexual isn't necessarily bad.

Admittedly Tod and I had RL issues. As some of you may know I'm also entering a semi-hiatus. I've TG'd him about it sometime about 12-24 hours ago and I'll make another post later on as I'm in a bit of a hurry right now.

Frankly this isn't the first JWHF that almost died... I'll take care of that (hopefully I won't have to take over hosting duties).

Ethane announces its participation in the World Hit Festival, but is undecided on the song it will be performing. National finals may happen depending on the choices of songs. Expect more information over the next week. Also participating in worldvision
Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.
Best WorldVision Finish: 2nd. Best World Cup Finish: Quarter-Finals. Best KPB Rank: 8th. Best WBC Finish: 1st.

THE STAGE

The stage, in keeping with the forward outlook of the theme, is modeled after a portal. Portals are symbols of the future and high technology, whether it be the breakthrough interuniversal portal or a faster-than-light space travel portal, and so are a perfect muse for the WHF22 stage design. In fact, the interuniversal portal was first set up in Frigidekasai, leading to SterGo100's decision for the contest's futuristic theme and stage design.

Imbued with the latest in Tödlichebujoki technology, the stage includes high-definition screens, pyrotechnics, weather effects, 3D and smell effects, and minor magical abilities like stage fright reduction and glowing effects. A platform extends out into the audience for a more intimate experience, and plenty of lights are available to illuminate the stage and stadium.

The venue itself is easily accessible by multiple forms of transportation, and will seat 40,000 people in its WHF configuration. The AHT Stadium, built only two years ago, has proved to be an excellent venue for sports and concerts and is expected to do the same with the Festival.
