Today, the official bid for Normandy and Picardy to host the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest in Caen was submitted by BNRT, as well as being publicly released due to Normand transparency laws which apply to BNRT as a government organisation. This bid has been in the works for a while, and BNRT hope that the hard work put into the bid results in Caen hosting the contest. The public reaction has been positive in Normandy and Picardy, and fans across the country hope the contest will take place in Caen. All details of the bid are at the link above. BNRT also released a promotional video, which can be viewed here.

Please could you send me the motto "Feel The Moment" in your nation's language (preferably not English). If you want to be included in the Interval Act, please send me either "Welcome To Caen" or "Hello To The World" in your nation's language to me (again, preferably not English). The host bid is likely to be updated in the near future.

BNRT is happy to confirm that Normandy and Picardy will take part in the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest. Details of the Normand entry are below. BNRT were delighted to finish 5th last contest in Quickenden, so they have decided that, for a contest or two, they will experiment musically and select entries they otherwise wouldn't have. They feel that, although finishing first would be amazing, it isn't a priority. However, who's to say if the experimentation won't bring a win?

That's all I wanted it to be. Hopefully, I'll get to host and I'll be bitter and twisted and will leave the contest if I don't get to host due to the effort I've put into this but let's see what the other bids bring.

RADIU-TELEVISIUNE KALOSIA PRESENTS

KALOSIAN BID FOR THE 42ND WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST

In order to make everything clear, the Kalosian bid for the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest has been divided into 2 parts: one that presents the IC aspect of the contest, and one that discusses what will actually happen in the forums.

IC Bid

Image

Welcome to Monterra. That will probably be the first thing you read or hear when you disembark, assuming you’re coming by plane.

About Monterra

Upon arrival at the airport, visitors can exchange their currency, purchase a local sim card to be used during their stay, or obtain any of the various guidebooks to the nation, such as The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Kalosia, or Lonely Planet’s guide to Monterra if you don’t plan on going out of town. Phrasebooks such as Berlitz Kalosian are available too.

Venue

The contest will be held in the Monterra ConcertHall, which previously hosted WorldVision 27.

Image

Many facilities are available in the venue. For example, in the gift shop you can buy all kinds of merchandise, such as mugs, scarves, phone cases, and even towels. All of the merchandise is related to the WorldVision Song Contest, and most of it comes in different colours/patterns for each participating nation.
There’s also a restaurant at the end of the arena (near the entrance) where fans can dine in specialties from all participating nations before they enjoy the show. Artists and delegation members can have the food delivered to their dressing rooms.

Postcards

We’ve decided to incorporate the theme into the postcards. In your country’s postcard, you’ll be able to listen to the sounds of life that your nation has contributed to the contest. The format of the postcard is as follows:
1. The text “#worldvision42” will appear
2. A selection of lyrics of your nation’s previous entries will appear in chronological order, and at the same time a recording of the song will play, specifically the part of the selected lyrics. We can’t guarantee that all of your previous entries will fit, but we’ll try our best.
3. The text is coloured in a specific way so that, after all the lyrics appear, the text forms your nation’s flag.
4. The details of your entry will be shown on the screen.

This is what the postcard is supposed to look like.

Stage Design

The proposed stage for the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest will have a 64-piece orchestra, the same one that appeared in the 19th World Hit Festival.

Image
Image

Image

The caves with triangular openings on the left and right side of the stage (pastel blue in the above pictures, although actually white) are not part of it, rather these are entrances where performers and props will be brought to the stage from. The stage itself is 32m wide and 18m long (keep in mind that it is diagonal so it is not parallel with the audience.
Other features include a satellite stage and a runway (which are separate from each other). The runway has 3 endings, and the lengths (from the stage to those endings) measure 40m, 50m, and 45m respectively. The satellite stage can be entered from the stage and from backstage (the “cave” has a little opening to access the satellite stage).
Behind the stage is a LED background screen 20 meters tall (though it won’t be fully visible due to the stage design). The stage floor is also fitted with LED. Both regions are indicated with a pattern in the above pictures.

For the first time, RTVK is planning to install the latest holographic technology in order to create stunning visual effects, particularly those that can’t be physically achieved on stage. The main purpose for this is because we care about the safety of our visitors, and this is our solution to achieve the deadly performances some delegations would wish to have while minimizing actual casualties at the same time. But if you just want an aurora or something to appear above your singers, that’s fine too.

Programme

There will be commercial breaks every 8 entries, showing you the sounds of WorldVision past. Viewers (in the arena and in countries where they don’t show commercials) will see a glimpse of the earliest contests and how much has changed since then.

The interval act will be called “WorldVision 420”. RTVK is keeping the details secret and has declined to comment further.

RTVK is currently in the middle of building a WorldVision archive in coordination with the WorldVision Committee. The archive shall be complete on the day of the contest and will be accessible by the public. If RTVK is granted hosting rights, the archive’s URL will be revealed for the first time live during the show, and WorldVision 42 will be available there within 24 hours of the archive’s opening.

Why vote Kalosia?

Radiu-Televisiune Kalosia has successfully hosted WV22 (as RTM) and WV27, as well as submitting high quality bids for the 32nd and 38th contests. And despite not being a member of the WorldVision Committee, RTVK is very committed to their participation in the contest, as proven by the fact that they are constructing an archive.
The broadcaster’s most recent high-profile production was the 19th World Hit Festival, which was a major success. The quality of that show should give you a picture of how well RTVK will host WorldVision.

OOC Bid

Roleplaying

There will be an orchestra pit, but using it is optional. You may bring your own conductor. Only the stage, the runway, and the satellite stage is designated for your performance. The “caves” are considered backstage (though you can certainly have your artist make an entrance from them).
I can’t exactly tell you what you can and can’t do but the stage design means the only way for your entrants to get to the audience is by jumping off the satellite stage or walking from the end of the runway. From the main stage you’ll have to climb through the orchestra pit before reaching the audience.

Graphics

Due to limited time and resources, we’ll only display a static shot of the fully loaded coloured text in the postcard, so it will look like the picture below. You don’t have to submit anything, I’ll revisit previous editions to obtain the lyrics and I’ll choose what will appear in your postcard.
To compensate, I’ll make clickable pictures (design below) in the OP, to make it prettier. But hey, I’d rather complete all the postcards than make a really cool one that I can’t do for everyone on time.

Layout

I’ll link about every IC post in the OP including commentary (except perhaps votes, I’ll link per page though) so that it’ll be easy to come back to any specific moment in the contest and pick up where you left off. Useful when you’re voting/writing commentary (especially when you’re in the middle of a page and have to go, with no way to mark where you’re up to). Most likely the OP will be integrated into the opening act.

The commercial breaks focus on the extremes of the contest, “First Edition”, “Longest Entry”, “Longest entrant”, etc. The content will be based on what I’ve gathered in the process of building the archive. And there is certainly plenty to be shared! Hopefully you’ll be kind enough to wait for me to put up a placeholder before posting song number 9, 17, and so on.

Miscellanous

The WorldVision archive part is actually true, I’m currently building a WV database (with information on every entry, host bidding, and votes, as well as links to the IC and OOC threads of each contest - the main difference being I’m doing this alone, not in coordination with the WorldVision Committee. If I host, I’ll provide the link, though it’ll be limited at first and I’ll “unlock” contest pages as WorldVision 42 progresses, in accordance to what’s happening ICly. If I don’t end up hosting, I won’t get rid of the archive and will keep it, but I haven’t decided when to release it or whether to even do that at all.

Preparations for this bid started in WV39, long before Kalosia was even granted hosting rights to WHF19. As a result, that festival was used as a model and test-run for this event. While some elements will be similar (opening act, breaks every few songs), I’ll promise to show less of Kalosia and more of WV in the commercial breaks, and I can’t possibly make gifs for every single vote… but I will make one for my own vote, at the same time showing you the scoreboard and current results at the time of my points. Also, some of these ideas (postcard video, WV archive) were already in the works before people even suggested them on OOC threads (though admittedly a video postcard isn't exactly something new, just that I've designated a video for the bid). Do take a look at WHF19 though, to get a picture of how good my hosting will be should this bid win.

Also yes, expect more Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy references.

WE HOPE YOU ENJOY THE SOUNDS OF LIFE, THE MULTIVERSE, AND EVERYTHING!

I hinted this like twice in the WV41 thread, including that Rihanna gif :b

And if my design game is weak, hopefully the marketing campaign and Hitchhiker's Guide references will win it ;)

Also (not posted earlier to prevent a double post as that post will also be where the bid will be released) the Kalosian entry will be Goodbye to Yesterday, artist TBA, to the tune of Nacida Para Amar by Nina, Spain's entry to the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest.

Also Saviera's back. For sure this time.

Augen ot Praciba! - Eyes on Praciba!
Sneak Preview - Contestants

#1 - Khézar & Nutrino
Image

Khézar & Nutrino form the biggest musical duo known on Pracib children's TV, presenting the popular children's music show 'K æn þor N' (K to the N) on PPKids. Having previously worked as music producers and parts of a boyband, Khézar & Nutrino use their connections to have the chart-toppers perform kids-friendly versions of their song on TV. Next to their show, they have continued their musical careers, as a duo, and their latest hit 'Let's go to the club' has topped the charts both for children and adults due to it's spicy-yet-friendly lyrics, multitudes of women and men that are given hugs in the music video and other happenings that made the song as interesting to children as to adults. This quality is what makes Khézar & Nutrino a solid choice for WV42, the first edition that Praciba will participate in after it's victory at the special 40th WorldVision, as Pracib Royal TV estimates that between one and ninety-nine percent of all viewers and voters of the WorldVision are children or influenced by children.

For any media-related inquiries such as interviews, bookings or other communications such as well-wishes, fan mail and so forth, feel free to contact Pracib Royal TV. International hopefuls hoping to become a Foreign Wildcard in Augen ot Praciba may also send their letters to Pracib Royal TV.

OMG it's a contest!

If Khézar & Nutrino do not win Augen ot Praciba, they are scheduled to perform as Pracib Royal TV's first ever commentators. For those interested in contests, the Pracib WV experience or simply winning, here is how you win an all-expenses paid, five-star Pracib WV experience for you and three of your best friends, which includes a visit to the Pracib commentator booth and the possibility to sneak into the green room as part of the Pracib entourage, to view all contestants from close up.

The question is simple: Using the promotional picture, who is Khézar and who is Nutrino?

Please send your answer to Pracib Royal TV, where the winner shall be randomly selected among those with the right answer.

This means you will vote for only three of the songs. 5 points go to your favourite song, 3 points go to your second favourite song and 1 point goes to your third favourite song. This is during this contest as this is the semi finals and not the real national finals. To cast your vote, please telegram Aloquirbe!!

Also if the conlang is supposed to be your nation's official/local/regional language or whatever you don't need to call it a conlang; my own Kalosian is a constructed language but it is treated as a natural language ICly.
