Chámelíyá had won the 18th World Hit Festival on home turf, but was not capable of hosting for a second time in a row. The honor of hosting was passed down to the runner up. Of the 3 nations that tied for 2nd place, Kalosia was given hosting rights as more countries had voted for them compared to the other two.
About + How It Works
The World Hit Festival (WHF) is a song competition. Each participating nation may enter 1 song and artist into the contest, and it will be performed. Lyrics must be written by the user, thus no instrumental songs are allowed. Users may enter up to 2 more puppet nations, adding to a total of 3 overall.
Later, each nation must vote for their favourites by giving 5 points to their favourite song, 4 points to their 2nd favourite, and so on. Nations are only allowed to get a maximum of 8 points from the user's puppets (meaning that, Nation 1 can receive 4 points from Nation 2 and Nation 3 each, if all 3 nations belong to the same user. Nations 2 and 3 can still receive points from each other.)
Votes are to be submitted by telegram to the host country, who will publish them. Afterwards, a winner will be announced and the current edition of the WHF will end, and signups for the next WHF will be opened.
Here is a statistical database of participants in WHF history.
For the contest, 3 threads will be opened. The first is the Signups/OOC thread, this one. The second is known as a Draft Thread. You will post your performances here. The final one is the IC thread. The host will copy your performances from the Draft Thread. You will be able to post commentary here.
You can use the most recent World Hit Festival (WHF18) as a reference. Still, feel free to ask questions!
